Ummm, unbelievable! My wife and I had them cater our wedding last weekend and they blew everyone out of the water with all vegan food! Everyone we talked to brought up how amazing the food was first thing. We are so so happy we went with them! They are professional, cool, and such good chefs! I wish I could eat that dinner every night forever hah. Book them!!!! You’ll be so happy you did :)

Best wedding catering food we've experienced! Super great to work with too!

Coming off of our wedding weekend in Woodstock Vermont, I could not be more happy that we found The Hindquarter to cater our event. First - the food was DELICIOUS. Like insane. We did not do a tasting as we live across the country, I just trusted them with blind faith and my instinct was right. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. I'm not even talking 'good-for-wedding-food-good', i'm talking like 'holy-sh*t-memorable-good'. Second - the team is really down to earth and easy to work with. There's definitely a 'wedding vendor complex' in popular wedding towns where vendors get a chip on their shoulder because they're one of a few options so people kind of have to use them... not The Hindquarter, they were just plain awesome to work with. Overall, the value we got for what they charged was such a reasonable price. We got quoted almost double for other caterers with much less interesting menu options, and much less appealing food presentation. I'm SO glad we found and hired The Hindquarter and hope anyone considering them takes this as a sign to hire them!

Luke was very accommodating in helping us pick out a menu for our wedding that we were very excited about, and it turned out even better than we could have hoped! The staff was great and numerous guests have since mentioned that it was the best wedding food they've ever had.

Wow wow woww! Could not have been more happy with the food and service at our wedding celebration. We got so many comments from guests saying it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had. The charcuterie and Mediterranean style appetizers were a work of art. The “feast” was INCREDIBLE with the best salmon I’ve ever had. It was really cool seeing the grilling and prep outside. The Hindquarter offers an absolutely amazing catering experience. Chef Luke Stone and his team turn out amazing wood-fired menu items, provide excellent customer service, and are all around wonderful people. They prioritize locally grown/raised/made products from reputable sources, and otherwise invest in quality items for anything non-local. As a wedding planner I hire this team as often as possible to serve my high-end clientele and the clients are never disappointed. In fact, I am continually met with “best food I have ever had at a wedding”. Shoutout to Hans, Meg, Forrest and the rest of the team for being all-stars. Looking forward to the 2024 season!

We got married in Vermont in October but are from Toronto so we didn't have an opportunity to go down and taste the Hindquarter's food before booking them. Although some thought it was a risky move, it could not have turned out any better. The Hindquarter did a fantastic job with our wedding food and every guest I spoke to since has raved about the food (and has been jealous that they are not also getting married in Vermont so that they can book the same caterer!). I didn't think that the food would be something I would remember about my wedding day, but thanks to the Hindquarter I can say that I will be pining for that meal forever!!

From the very first phone call to last bite of the very few leftovers, The Hindquarter knocked it out of the park. I am speechless except for this: they were helpful and communicative throughout the whole planning process and I couldn't imagine doing it without them. Dozens of guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had. One said, "This is my new favorite restaurant." Highly recommend reaching out ASAP, they are so great. 10/10.

We booked Hindquarter for our wedding after everyone told us to book them, and we couldn't be happier that we did! Not only were they incredibly easy to work with - Luke and Megan are so flexible and on top of everything - the food was OUTSTANDING. We were blown away by our tasting, and the food was just as amazing at the actual wedding for 160+ people. We are vegetarians, so we wanted to put forward a veg-heavy menu. We offered chicken as the only meat entree, and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing not only the chicken was, but also the lentils and potatoes. Everyone has told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Initially, we were nervous to do a buffet, but the buffet turned out beautiful and did not look like your standard buffet table. Everyone moved through the buffet lines quickly - it was incredibly well managed. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity, book Hindquarter!

Luke, Megan, and everyone else involved with our wedding catering were absolutely fantastic. They knew exactly what they needed, had recommendations for us on timeline and other items we may have overlooked, and also...the food was unreal. We were so excited to have a caterer that used local ingredients, and we were not disappointed. Every single item that came off the fire was creative, perfectly executed and exquisitely plated. Standouts were peaches and cream with little buttermilk biscuits, halibut, the street food stationary starter, porchetta...I mean come on! It was easily better than most restaurants I've been to, and to execute that plating and presentation in a buffet is really special. Anyway, I'm gushing, but if you're lucky enough to book Luke and crew just know you are in for a treat!

Luke and The Hindquarter were one of our very first bookings for our wedding, and boy were thrilled to have them!  We immediately loved the idea of having food cooked over the fire, but it was the first phone call with Luke that sealed the deal. He's an expert; the way he talks about weddings immediately inspires confidence and calm. We were planning everything from out of state, and Luke made it remarkably easy and fun. Not to mention how stunning the food actually IS!  My husband and I had the time of our lives at the tasting, and at the reception we must have heard about a hundred times that it was “the best wedding food ever," from guests.  The presentation is out of a magazine... in fact, I believe they were recently featured in Vogue! (Congratulations, wonderful people!!) The menu options are unique, fresh, and basically all of our favorite foods. And speaking of favorite foods, they have these chargrilled oysters!  I must have eaten a dozen of these, as the very kind staff kept walking them past my husband and I during cocktail hour.  What a tremendously happy memory. Thank you, Luke and The Hindquarter for making our wedding unforgettably delicious and special.  We can't wait to come back to VT and eat more of your incredible food!  HIRE THEM! :)

We hired The Hindquarter for our wedding last month and everything was absolutely incredible. The day went seamlessly and we really appreciated the team coming and bringing us a plate during the cocktail hour to make sure we got to try everything. I probably had every single wedding guest come up to me individually and tell me that not only was it the best wedding food they've ever had but that the apps especially were some of the best they've ever had, period. It was absolutely a hit in every way and the only thing I wish we did differently was to order a bunch of extra meals to have leftovers. Luke and his team were so communicative and helpful as planned changed. We had quite a few GF people (including the groom) and they managed to make the entire wedding meal gluten free so people weren't limited. I can't recommend them enough!

We loved our experience with The Hindquarter. They helped us craft a personalized menu for our wedding, without question. They even made a sauce based off our family’s recipe, which was such a special touch. The food came out amazing and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. They were a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend them.

Wow, we’re not even sure where to begin. Luke and his team are complete professionals. We’re awestruck with how perfectly our menu and event was handled. We had a small wedding (16 people) at a private lake house. The Hindquarter team arrived on time and immediately went to work. They were so kind, friendly and one step ahead of us all evening. When the night was finished the completely cleaned the kitchen, washed all of our dishes and neatly put leftovers in to go boxes. Many of our guests confirmed it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Having worked in hospitality for 10+ years, I highly recommend The Hindquarter for their food quality, service and professionalism.

If you're looking for an event caterer, STOP. LOOK NO FURTHER. You've found the one. Luke was wonderful to work with, and has a ton of experience with event planning. The day of our wedding, the caterers were our favorite people. They snuck us snacks, delivered us an entire tray of appetizers when we were stuck posing for photos, and built us dinner plates when we couldn't get to the buffet ourselves. They also packaged up EXTREMELY DELICIOUS LEFTOVERS for us to take home. One of our wedding goals was that people would be talking about the food for the rest of our lives.... and we certainly achieved that with the Hindquarter. People were complimenting us all night for picking them, and guests continually left the reception to compliment the crews cooking outside. One of the highlights of my day was my now-husband helping me eat a confit chicken wing while in my wedding dress. One of his highlights was getting slipped a piece of short rib right before walking into the ceremony. We only regret not eating more. The carrots with labneh? PHENOMENAL. The corn fritters with honey? To die for. The gnocchi was by far the best gnocchi I've had in my life. AND THE SMOKEY CREAMED KALE? NUTS. I work for a different catering company and did bar service for an event they were catering. Not only was the food amazing!! But they were all SO kind, friendly and generous. I highly recommend The Hindquarter!

We were lucky enough to get Hindquarter for our wedding in Aug 2020 which got postponed twice and we were finally able to celebrate it couple of weeks ago. Luke has been so accommodating throughout and he’s just the nicest dude. The food we had for our wedding was probably one of the best foods we’ve had at any wedding. Multiple guests has since mentioned the same to us. You could taste how fresh all the ingredients were and everything was so high quality. Their price is very reasonable for the quality and variety they deliver. The staffs for the day were super nice and professional. The Hindquarter is honestly a Vermont gem and we are extremely glad we were able to hold on to them. We can’t recommend them enough for any events and weddings.

The Hindquarter team provided incredible catering for our wedding at a great value. The Hindquarter catered our wedding a few weeks ago and we could not have asked for a better experience! From the start Luke was extremely helpful and accomodating, helping us plan the menu to fit our budget and arrange the logistics of the wedding day. The food was phenomenal - fresh, local veggies, meats, pastas, and cheeses cooked over an open fire to perfection. All our guests from our pickiest eaters to the foodies raved about how delicious it was. We heard non-stop on the wedding night how much everyone loved it. Just as wonderful was the full catering team - everyone was incredibly professional and helpful. They handled everything from helping set our tables to setting up a full operaton to cook the food onsite (we didn't have a catering kitchen to use) to clearing the tables. Hiring The Hindquarter was one of our best decisions and our only wish is that we lived closer so that we could stop by for food more often!

We had Hindquarters for our wedding on October 15th and they were great! The catering crew is awesome, so nice and helpful. The food was amazing, Luke was very helpful with everything I needed to be prepared for my reception and everything went smoothly and perfect. The catering provided by The Hindquarter for our wedding was absolutely incredible. We’re biased, but many of our guests told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. The quality and freshness of the ingredients was top notch. Luke was a dream to work with leading up to the wedding helping us craft our menu and carve out special considerations for attendees with dietary restrictions. On the day of, the staff was very professional and ran the event as if we were in a restaurant. It was really important since our venue didn’t have a kitchen set up and his team was able to make it happen and went above and beyond to make our guest be delighted with each dish that was coming out of the grill! Highly recommend!

The Best~ Exceptional ~ Everyone and everything was amazing!!!!

We had the hindquarter cater our wedding in Essex Jct on 10/2. Their service was absolutely amazing and the food was to die for. All of our guests raved about how delicious the food was. It was a pleasure working with Luke and he made sure to keep our budget in mind and find a menu that was delicious and affordable for us. The servers and kitchen staff were all friendly and professional. They were a huge help in breaking down our venue at the end of the night, and made it a totally stress free experience for us. 5/5 stars for sure.

The Hindquarter delivered the rustic, modern, show stopper apps and wedding dinner we hoped for and expected. Also, if you haven't checked out The Hindquarter restaurant, you are missing out. I had the Rabbit Pate Sandwich and it was exquisite. Luke and his team were simply incredible.

I used the Hindquarter for wedding catering. It was a great experience. Luke was very attentive and professional. Everyone raved about the quality of the food. The veggies were crisp, the lamb delicious and chicken very moist. Use them for your event!

Luke was incredible start to finish! We hired Luke for our wedding before covid hit and throughout all of the changes, all of the stress, he was a total rock for us. His knowledge of the wedding industry, catering, hospitality as a whole, made the process easy. We felt taken care of at every step. Besides Luke's excellent communication, more than fair pricing, and his wonderful and calm demeanor, his food is simply excellent. Restaurant quality food (really more like secret the best restaurant in the area) served at a wedding. Traditionally, everyone expects simple "wedding food" but Luke designs simple but creative dishes with local ingredients, made by pros, and it all comes out as though you enjoyed a 4 star dining experience. Quite literally, every guest (many of whom work in hospitality as I do) commented on how excellent each dish was and the service overall. If you're having a wedding in Vermont, this is THE caterer.

Luke and his team catered our daughter’s wedding just this past May 30th. The food was exceptional! Everything was absolutely fresh, the flavors delectable. Nothing tasted like ‘catered’ food, just exceptional restaurant quality. Luke worked with our daughter and son-in-law developing a modern menu emphasizing spring produce and local products. Watching as he and his team worked over the wood fires added to wedding picture. I could eat the menu all over again, it was that good!

Luke and his team catered my 50 person family-style wedding and helped us have the dinner party of our dreams. He was flexible when I gave him loose menu direction and was able to collaborate on a menu that was so perfect for the day and the tone we wanted to set. His staff was on time, professional, and friendly. Pricing was very fair! Overall I could not have asked for a better experience, and the food was incredible by any standards!

Luke and The Hindquarter are an incredible catering group with amazing food. Luke and his team catered our wedding and prepared, on-site, one of the most amazing meals and experiences we and our guests have ever had. Our guests could not stop talking about the food and presentation of months after our wedding. It blows me away that this company only has 8 reviews. If I could, I would give them 1,000,000 stars. We still cannot believe what an amazing job they did for our wedding, and neither can our guests. People literally stopped me on the dance floor during the reception to gush about how delicious the food was. Now, 3 weeks later, family and friends still want to talk about how good the food was. Luke and his team at the Hindquarter are incredible! From the very beginning planning stages, Luke was phenomenal to work with. His responses were always prompt. When it comes to weddings, he really knows what he is doing, and not just when it comes to the food. When you hire Luke and his team, you get way more than just a caterer. Luke helped us with so much of our planning and coordination. When his team arrived the day of, they took over so that we could relax and they ran things SEAMLESSLY. They were so incredibly helpful and their amazing wood fired cooking tools were great entertainment for our guests. Everything they made for our wedding was delicious and our guests all got plenty of food to be satisfied and fuel their dancing. I cannot say enough good things about The Hindquarter. Luke and The Hindquarter's food was unreal. Everything they did for us from the planning stages, to entertaining our guests with you amazing wood-fired cooking, to serving an unforgettable meal, will stick with us as one of the biggest highlights of our wedding. Food is not something we take lightly... Luke and The Hindquarter crew lived up to every expectation of two major foodies. Many guests commented that the food was the best wedding food they have ever had, some ever going as far as to say it was one of the best meals, period. We have a pretty well-traveled group of friends and family when it comes to weddings, so we take this compliment very seriously, not just kind words. One added bonus of going with Hindquarter as your caterer is you get a built-in show during cocktail hour--the way Luke and his crew grill the food is an absolute sight to behold. We had multiple guests stop us during the night to remark on how cool the caterers were, how fun it was to watch them cook, and how well it fit the vibe of the wedding we were going for. With that being said, I feel like The Hindquarter can fit any wedding. He helped us curtail our menu to be more cost-efficient while still getting our raw bar, charcuterie, and cheese tables, while offering seasonal and truly exceptional meats, pastas, and veggies. If we wanted to, we could have spent more, but we felt we were getting everything we needed from him at a very reasonable price... a price that was competitive or better than other caterers we talked to in the Vermont area. I know that if we talked to them about getting our price lower, they would have helped us make a menu that didn't detract from our day in the slightest. Again, we really can't say enough and think choosing The Hindquarter as your wedding caterer would be an excellent decision. Thank you so so much.

From start to finish everything was perfect. Roasted vegetables, lamb chops, chicken, oysters and baba ghanoush during cocktails. Dinner was mushroom polenta, corn succotash, tomato and mozzarella salad and roast chicken. Seasonings were perfect, and so creative, service excellent and the whole team was wonderful! I couldn’t imagine a better dinner service outdoors overlooking Lake Willoughby for my Nephews wedding! Thank you and Cheers!

The Hindquarter catered our wedding of ~45 guests in June 2019 on top of Mount Philo in Charlotte, Vermont. From start to finish, everyone we worked with at The Hindquarter was focused on ensuring the food and the experience was exactly what we wanted. We planned things with Luke. He was easy to communicate with, provided relevant details & asked questions about logistics that we might not have thought of on our own, and he quickly responded to emails. We opted to grill food on-site and for guest to pick things up 'buffet style'. We never felt any pressure from Luke to opt for anything more or less formal than what we wanted - he aimed to please! But most importantly...the food was amazing! All of the guests raved about how good the food was. We had a mix of meat, fish, and veggie eaters, and absolutely all items were cooked to perfection and offered a very special treat to those with various dietary choices. Everyone was spoiled! I give the Hindquarter my highest recommendation.

The Hindquarter catered our wedding in September 2018. (I had to book them after I saw the pictures of their outdoor cooking over fires!) Luke was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning. We were holding our wedding at a family property in Vermont, so had to "create a venue" there, and Luke had many great ideas and thoughtful questions. He was very communicative working with the tent company. He came out to do a site visit and prepared an amazing tasting for us--one of the best meals of my life! We asked if he could make an eclectic Mediterranean menu and gave him some food ideas. He came up with an incredible menu, and was very accommodating when we told him about guest allergies/diets. We had paella, various crostini, and charcuterie for cocktail hour, and then beef skewers, chicken kebabs, pitas and rotis, hummus and herbed yogurt, eggplant and carrots, and shakshuka. It was all delicious--many guests said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Highly recommend the Hindquarter for their high quality food and customer service. Hindquarter catered our wedding in 2018. The food was outstanding!! The beef was gorgeous and perfectly seared, the chicken under a brick was tasty, the salad was awesome and the sides were flavorful and also perfectly cooked. We had so many compliments from guests. Many went for seconds and we are still craving thirds ourselves! Hindquarters owner and staff were great to work with. Finally, the grills are fun entertainment for guests. Highly recommended!

My sister had The Hindquarter cater her wedding this past weekend, about 80 guests. The food was AMAZING! Everyone that I spoke to about the food, was super impressed. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious! I loved the shrimp boil and hush puppies for the appetizer, a touch of spice mixed with the sweetness of the sauce for the hush puppies. I could go on and on - it was that good. If you're looking for quality, delicious food - The Hindquarter can provide! Just awesome!
