Outstanding restaurant! Weekly trips with the family. Cool 'little' playground to keep the kids entertained. Victoria makes the best drinks and quite frankly probably has the best service of everyone there even though most do very well.

I enjoy going to this place.. its always fun, the waitress and waiters seem to love their job. Always good food and great atmosphere, the Margaritas are the best in Summerville and so is the fried shrimp, so you must try them. We go on Saturdays, right when they open, so there's no wait times,

The wait was a bit long, but it was Saturday evening. Had the best waiter we have had in along time. I had a special order with no spices on my food and he made sure to check my food and had the kitchen remake my veggies without me even having to ask. He kept our drinks refilled and was very accommodating. My steak was cooked perfectly. Everyone at our table enjoyed our food. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this place. I’m going to give it another go eventually because I’ve seen all the great reviews. Place is beautiful. Our server was very nice. We got the fried shrimp appetizer, butternut squash soup, a house salad with blue cheese and a caesar salad. Shrimp were okay. My Nana liked her house salad. We both were a bit confused on the butternut squash soup, was very meat forward (bacon?) which wasn’t what either of us were expecting ordering a vegetable named soup. Caesar was fish forward. I like anchovies and love a caesar salad, but it was pushing into too fishy territory for me. This might come off like I don’t like seafood, but if you look at my past reviews I promise I do. Don’t know what it was with the caesar but it just didn’t taste quite right.

This place is fantastic. I went the cheeseburger route and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. The garden salad was super fresh, and the staff was amazing. We will definitely return.

Wonderful experience with amazing food! Our waitress was so sweet and very nice. The food was outstanding. I tried to get a picture of the dessert but it was gone before I could. We had the menu special: Grilled snapper and the 1/2 chicken with goat cheese mash potatoes and green beans. For dessert, we had the pecan pie with vanilla ice cream and crème brûlée. Our bellies are very happy and compliments to the wonderful chef! This is one of our favorite places for a family night or date night.

Great outdoor patio. Took our 3 dogs and or friends dog. Great food and service.

I usually love ordering from here. I always get the garden salad. I order one today to go and the lettuce is soaking wet, with barely a half container full. I paid $15 for it. Edit: the customer service was great. Thank you for refunding.

Great local spot. Busy a lot of the time. Closed Sunday and Monday. Fried shrimp is a favorite, along with the country fried steak. Recommend getting the lunch size if you don't want leftover. Portion sizes are healthy.

Not for me. The shrimp and grits were not good. Not sure all the hype with this place. Been there a few times and don’t get it. Maybe I am missing something!

Stopped here on our way home from Folly Beach. Nice servers and staff. Waiters informed of food items. We had an enjoyable evening B4 heading back home.

I love coming here! Staff is friendly and food is good. My favorite is the warm turkey club sandwich with fries and she crab soup is the bomb. Definitely make a reservation if you go at 5pm and onward. There is usually a wait , but worth it !

I've posted about The Icehouse in the past but I had to add this about their retro lunch tray. It was delicious and inexpensive. I've put before and after photos so I don't have give a detailed description. Oh, and the service has always been good.

We really enjoyed the Ice House Restaurant. We like the atmosphere and the bartender was friendly and attentive. We ordered hamburgers and was thrilled that they had a gluten-free option for the bun!

Avoid this place - BEWARE- if you are a party of two or three you will not be seated, you are not a priority they don't care you showed up! Waiting over an hour and twenty minutes for a table for two while multiple tables of 5 and over who came in after my party of two, were seated 30 and 40 minutes before we were. I called around 5:30 PM to make a reservation for two they said they don't take reservations. They said the wait was 30 minutes. We showed up at 7:25 PM we were then told 30 to 45 minute wait and saw two tables that seated 5 or more which were reserved. That should have let us know how they only care about large parties. This place is the ONE place in South Carolina where they do NOT priorities first come first serve. I can't tell you how disappointed this place was. I was told great atmosphere, food is good. The food was normal, but it wasn't worth over an hour wait. Sitting there and waiting to see if they would even sit us, at this point. Once it hit an hour we went up to check the hostess with a broken foot the same voice who said at 5:30PM they didn't take reservation. She said it would be a 10 minutes longer, it wasn't. When that time pasted and another group of 6 was seated before us, we went to look for the manager. When we found the manager she was chumming it up with regulars who we noticed had their 3rd glass of wine. To be seated at 8:50 PM and then waited another 15 minutes for the waiter to take the order. It was a horrible experience. If they were honest at 5:30PM oh we don't care about non regular parties of 2, naturally we wouldn't have and enjoyed our evening somewhere else. They didn't care they wasted our time for normal pork chops, wings, and two sides. We wanted to try other things on the menu but eating heavier meals after 9PM, wouldn't have been smart. OH NO AC upstairs, only one Fan circulating the warm air. This is my birthday weekend I was told it was a good place. I will be telling the handful of individuals who told us it was a good time, that it was not. Beware - if you are party of two or three and NOT a regular/ local you will never be seated. Unacceptable service, there were seats after a 30 minute wait but since they prioritize a larger parties, they were waiting for us to leave. Two couples ended up leaving because they also, waited over an hour. Unacceptable. I am writing this experience for anyone who is just a party of two, to NOT waste your time here. I know what I experienced. It was greed and was the rudest service I've experienced for a Americana Restaurant with a poorly working Central air. I am hoping the manager who didn't care that my party of two didn't get seated for over an hour and 20 minutes, won't respond, but it looks like she will since the other 1 star reviews she shows her aggressive style. She knows how she runs the restaurant, prioritize the larger groups. If I saw a review like this I would have chosen a different restaurant who prioritize first come first serve.

I had the Fried shrimp, collards and sweet potato fries. It was all delishes. The shrimp had good flavor, fries were crispy and the collards tasted like homemade. I would definitely go again. Great job! Thank you Icehouse for good food,good atmosphere and a relaxing dinner.

I had the chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. It was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I went here for the first time a few days ago with a friend, and sat down at the bar to have a drink while deciding what to order. Monet was incredibly helpful and informative in helping me decide what I wanted to drink (I know nothing) and I greatly enjoyed my Mermaid Water. Once we had settled on what we wanted to order, Brandon and Monet helped solidify our choices and let us sample a few things to be sure. My friend got the blackened golden tilefish, and I got the Caesar salad and she crab soup. Needless to say, absolutely everything was perfect and I could not have asked for two more fun, I knowledgeable and truly helpful people to assist me. An especially huge thanks to them both! ❤️

The crab soup was cold. Probably no warmer than room temperature. Ironically, in a seafood town, I ended up ordering. Korean short ribs at this place as an appetizer and they were very good. And I also had a peach and goat cheese salad with a piece of salmon on top and that was very good as well. Emma our server was the best! I told her I was going to be the wedding singer at her wedding in ten years....

Very cool, historic building that used to be an actual ice house where they delivered ice blocks to families in the summer. The food was good... I had the pecan encrusted pork chop with collard greens and mashed potatoes...a little heavy, but it was my fault for choosing it, still really good. The apple chutney that it came with was yummy. The colors greens and mashed potatoes are really good. The staff are very friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. And there's an outdoor bar and playground for the kids.

My son and I had lunch here today for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. (The blackened shrimp I had with my salad was delicious.) I really like the atmosphere, too. And the customer service? Fantastic. Our server, Sara, was so warm and friendly; she took such great care of us. A great first visit and we’ll definitely be back - Thank you!

Food was great. Our waiter was on top of everything (drink refills, checking on us, etc.). We had outdoor seating because the weather was nice and not too warm.

Was very disappointed with the staff and management. We came here to sit outside while the kids played on the playground. There were 3 other tables eating outside. Well right when we walked in the door “ONE” clap of thunder happened so they automatically said no sitting outside. I get it’s for safety reasons but The radar said no rain in the forecast, the thunder by the radar was 10miles away heading the other way, it was bright and sunny, waitress still have to go outside to get the draft beers and other people were still eating outside. So we did sit inside to eat which the food was good and service was good and after eating we went back outside for the kids to play as we originally planned. Never once did it rain or thunder while we were eating inside and eventually they started to sit people outside. Just next time make it make sense. Either everyone goes inside or waitress don’t walk outside to get drinks or look at the radar to see what it says.

Fantastic experience. I recommend the shrimp and grits; the thinly-sliced sausage adds a beautiful dimension to the dish.

What a delightful place to eat. The portion were very generous and the foods was great. My first taste of grits and they were pretty good. Starla was our wait person and she was unbelievable. She was knowledgeable, courteous and quite friendly. Ask for her if you go.

Had an icehouse salad with blackened chicken - great option for summer. My husband had a bowl of She crab soup— had a good taste but he did not find any lumps of crab meat, which was disappointing.

Monet was a FANTASTIC server, so patient, helpful, fun. I'd ask to sit in her area if you want great service and just the right amount of attention. The food was good and we enjoyed our evening. Had the she crab soup, fried green tomatoes w pimento cheese special. Husband had the Grilled Pork Ribeye, our friend had the chicken fried steak. Both said theirs was really good as well. I moved away from Summerville a little over three years ago, but go back once a year to my near by lake house. This year my family member decided to take me here to get a bit to eat. I was pleasantly surprised. Although I enjoyed living in Summerville in the past my one complaint was that the food did not stack up to bigger areas such as San Jose, CA or Tampa Bay FL. This place does stack up and is a great place if you are feeling the same way I felt about food in this area. Try this place out. You'll like it. The staff were friendly and the restrooms were clean. You can eat in or out doors. Pricing is as expected for a place of this quality. They have good option on the menu.

The Icehouse never disappointed my family. Always great food and fast, friendly service! My mom LOVES this place and wants to go there any time she's visiting from Ohio. My wife adores the she-crab soup, and my mom and youngest daughter loves the pecan-crusted pork chop. My oldest daughter always gets the Cajun pasta, and I love the Icehouse Salad (add blackened chicken and try the sweet tea vinegrette dressing!)

Everything ordered was exceptional, from the top shelf Long Island to the pecan pie. Dillon was exceptional and made sure I wanted for nothing!

Really cool building- great atmosphere! I had a regular cheeseburger and it was great! Nice, big patty- without being too thick and tough. Perfectly seasoned, juicy and delicious! Fries are golden and crispy. I would definitly recommend!

After 10 years of seeing the outside ... finally stopped in for a bite. Absolutely gorgeous. Built in early 1900's. The Cheeseburger was absolutey delicious. I'll be back soon.

I love their blackened chicken pasta! They have a nice outdoor area with a space for kids to play.

We met our friends for a late lunch. The wait staff was excellent. Kacia was on top of all our . She had a great smile and a welcoming attitude. Our meal selection was simple, two orders of chicken tenders and fries. Instead of being served golden brown fried chicken. We were served overcooked and burnt tenders. It was as though they were cooked in old or overused cooking old. The final and ultimate disappointment was being charged for condiments. If Ice House wants to get to the next level, they need to take better care of the meals served to their customers and stop being so cheesy about charging for a condiment (a tablespoon of ranch dressing). Seriously!!

Ii ordered 10 Oz. Ribeye mashed potatoes and squash. All was excellent. The dessert was OK. I ate bourbon pecan pie. I've had better. WaitStaff was excellent, friendly. Order was delivered promptly I will return. Try different dessert. No problem with having my dessert first.

Very laid back atmosphere. Food was great and service was very good. I had a burger and battered fries. I was definitely not disappointed. The burger was juicy and well cooked. Also, the fried mushrooms were delicious, and the serving size was very ample. The beignets were yummy, too. I will definitely return whenever I am in the area.

Great place. Be careful on the tall stairs, not sure but seemed like more than 21 steps up. Use the handrail. It would be a long way down if someone fell down the stairs. Great people and wonderful place. Look forward to visiting again.

All the food was excellent. I REALLY liked the atmosphere and history of the building. It was my first time experiencing grilled wazoo and I would definitely get it again! Best fried shrimp I've ever eaten.

Our server Monet made our evening special. We stopped as we were passing thru on our way south. We had the she crab soup which is full of good chunks of crab and very yummy. We also had the pork Rib eye amazing but a bit undercooked for my liking. We will be stopping back on our way north. A great place!

A one star for charging 12% tax….and not the normal sales tax rate of 8%…. With no understanding of why anywhere on the menu.. Steak cooked to perfection…mashed potatoes were like paste….i think they would have worked well in putting up wall paper….im sure French fries would have been better… However, I’ll be steering clear of any restaurants… charging “extra” taxes….in Summerville.

We have been coming here for years! We celebrate, anniversaries, birthdays, and anything days, and we have never been disappointed!! My go to is always the shrimp and grits, and it is the best I have ever had. My husband‘s go to has always been the turkey club, and he swears hands-down that it’s the best. The chef here never disappoints! I had never liked collard greens until I had them as a side, one time here… This is the only place I will ever eat them!

The atmosphere it awesome, service could use some help, we got the steak and it was cooked correct, could have used a little more flavor/crust but still nice. Potatoes were kinda basic but not bad, we go just about once a week and it’s been consistent.

Icehouse is great place to eat at. Great atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating area with seating inside the historic building. Inside has a nice early 20th century vibe to it. While the food is typically very good here, it is worth noting that it was a bit off on our last visit. My parents both ordered the 10oz NY strip special but were served Ribeyes instead. Not anywhere near the same type of cut and was quite a bit more tough to chew. The green beans were undercooked but not terrible tasting. The rest of our meals were spot on. I would highly recommend going for lunch or dinner if you're in the area and looking for a good place to eat.

Went here with my parents to celebrate my birthday. LOVED the atmosphere. It has such a neat feel to it. The food was incredible! We highly recommend the Cajun pasta, shrimp and grits, and the pecan pork chop. We also enjoyed a couple of the cocktails, the apple bourbon sour (pretty sure that’s what it was called) and the blood orange lemonade were refreshing and delightful. Also..the beignets? A MUST!!! Aside from that, our server was very friendly and we enjoyed having her talk with us. Definitely a must see when you’re in the area.

Had lunch yesterday at the Icehouse with my girlfriends. I tried the gumbo with fresh warm bread on the side with the most delicious butter I’ve ever tasted. Paul took excellent care of us. I love the ambience, the food, the cocktails, it’s my go to place when going to lunch! The prices are so reasonable too, keeps me coming back time and time again!

One of our favorite places in Summerville. Food is ALWAYS delicious. It’s hard to find a restaurant that is consistently good (literally every time) and The Icehouse is definitely that place. The Steak bites and shrimp appetizer are a must try!

Great place too stop in and chill for dinner.Ordered the buttermilk chicken which was made to perfection. Pork ribeye with mustard grain sauce was made to perfection.All in all a fantastic dinner.Mac n cheese was average at best but not enough to drag down the review.

Consistently good food with a great atmosphere and excellent service. I recommend this place to anyone visiting from our of town. Great place for kids as they have a playground on the outdoor patio.

We had such a wonderful early Christmas family dinner tonight. My filet was cooked perfectly and so tender, everyone else enjoyed their food as well. I would recommend that the servers be permitted show the guests the specials even though they are not available till 5. Our server seemed annoyed that at 4:35 we wanted to see what was on the menu since we were having appetizers and drinks. But, other than that, we all left very happy and look forward to coming back again.

There were a decent amount of people there and good Trip Advisor reviews so we decided to try the Icehouse. I had the steak bites appetizer with “house steak sauce”, my daughter had she crab soup and a shrimp Po’ Boy with fries. The steak was cooked medium as I ordered it. Somehow, it was chewy and the flavor generic. The “house steak sauce” tastes like A1. My daughters fries had a strange aftertaste. Although very slight, it resembled soap. My daughter and I both tasted it and left the rest. (Her boyfriend could not detect it.) While I didn’t try the shrimp Po’ Boy, it leaned toward being a “bread sandwich.” HUGE roll. I believe I saw 6 small shrimp in there. If this is incorrect, perhaps management could correct me here. The she crab soup was REALLY thick and honestly, wasn’t anything to write home about. My daughters boyfriend said it needed salt. I tried it and I’m glad I didn’t order it. As others mention, the interior vibe is great. Lots of brick and I saw at least one fireplace. Our food was very average, perhaps I expect too much.
