nice place, great breakfast, no complaints, however NO Housekeeping done for 3 day visit.. No TV in room.. wouldve been nice to have minor housekeeping for the price paid.

As always, our stay was fantastic from beginning to end. The staff is always attentive to making our dining and stay a remarkable experience. Chef was very accommodating for our large party with food allergy issues. Even The Inn resident dog Banana is cordial and welcoming. We are looking forward to our return.

Booked a last minute stay in the bunk room with some friends to get a ski weekend at Jay Peak before a snowstorm. Was exactly what we were looking for. Enjoyed the Inn common areas to play cards and hang outside of the room. Jason, it was nice to chat with you at the bar for a bit!

After making a dinner reservation for my birthday celebration, the staff at the Inn Restaurant greeted me with a Birthday card and then proceeded to follow up with an absolutely flawless evening filled with gorgeous cocktails, amazing food and impeccable service. Perfection. Thank you for an awesome evening!

My husband made a reservation here for my Birthday (this would be our 2nd time here which is why it was my choice for a special birthday dinner) and it was an ABSOLUTLEY perfect experience …yet again. We were taken to our table and presented with a very sweetly written birthday card and then treated to excellent service, incredible drinks and fantastic food. Everything about this restaurant is exactly what you would hope for when looking for the quintessential Vermont hospitality and dining experience. Highly recommend.

This restaurant happened to be right across the street from where we were staying, so we decided to stop in for dinner one night. We tried things that I have not seen on other menus anywhere and the food was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere is cozy and quaint. Larissa was our server and she was wonderful! One of us was celebrating a birthday and we even got a birthday card from them while there. Because we had such an amazing experience of first night we decided to go back a second time during our stay and have dinner there again. We had the same experience the second night as we did the first. Thank you too Larissa and all the staff here for such a great experience and meals. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed next door at a B And B and decided to go here for dinner on a Friday night. Holy smokes. Best meal of my life so far. We looked around for our Saturday night dinner and decided to go back and BOOM another awesome meal. Order a s'mores old fashioned if it's ever on the menu. Staff was super awesome. Got some secret "stuff" on my salad. 😉. Thank you for making our weekend getaway and awesome time.

This is the only place my husband and I will stay for our Jay Peak ski trips! The rooms and staff are so lovely. Breakfast is delicious and we make it a point to have at least 1 dinner at the restaurant when we stay there. It's a very special place and I'd recommend to anyone.

We recently enjoyed a family dining experience at The Inn and had an outstanding experience. The evening could not have been more enjoyable. The atmosphere is the best of all dining venues in the greater Jay area, food quality and service outstanding with a terrific menu variety. If you want a real culinary treat, you need to visit The Inn.

The food here is INSANE! I urge you to dine at The Inn. Everything is done with care and pride. I highly recommend the elk steak! The chef, Jason, will leave you discussing how much you enjoyed your meal for days following your visit. Cannot recommend enough!

My husband and I took a celebratory trip up north for the weekend... for me, it was a mystery tour! My husband researched everything for the weekend, booked everything, and all I knew is that I didn't need my passport, lol! We drove through early December slush from Massachusetts to arrive at this oasis! It was beautifully decorated for the season, fireplace blazing... yes!!!! We settled into our sparkling clean room, beautifully decorated with a claw foot tub, comfortable bed with quality linens AND plush terry cloth robes to curl up in as you lounge in your room ... ahhh!!! The inn keepers were just wonderful! They were so warm and hospitable that you felt like you were family! As this is a bed and breakfast inn, I must say the breakfast was amazing! There is a menu with 5 or 6 breakfast items to choose from, all made fresh to order. The INN also has an unbelievable restaurant and bar which opens to the public at 5pm, which I've reviewed separately, deservingly so! The town of Montgomery was beautiful and quaint, all decorated for the holiday season like a Currier and Ives postcard. We booked a couples massage at a local spa and a session at a salt cave, all within 4 minutes walking distance from The INN. Also, Jay Peak is a little over 6 miles from The INN, which is a plus during any season. Thank you Nick, Jason and Kinga (shout out to the pups, Banana and Portland) for a wonderful weekend at The INN!!!! We will be back!!!

We stayed at The Inn on a leaf peeping excursion in early October. It was our first time in the Montgomery area. We were greeted by Nick and Portland. It was then that we realized what a unique place The Inn is! From the warm and comfortable lounge - stocked with antique treasures and soft couches and chairs - to the cozy dining rooms and bar. Our room was decorated with rustic yet retro art with a super comfortable bed. Jason is artful chef who was more than happy to talk about his unique cooking and experiences as co-innkeeper with Nick. It was overall a VERY wonderful experience being at The Inn! We wish Nick and Jason and Kinga the best and hope stay there again in the future!

Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The room was cozy clean as well as charming. The Inn was delightful in every way from the unique decor to the cordial greetings and warm smiles. Definitely a win win experience!!! 5 stars all the way!!!!!

An absolutely beautiful stay at The Inn. Nick is welcoming and kind and has created such a unqiue and whimsical space to relax and enjoy the beauty of Vermont. Listening to the sounds of the river at night and enjoying a lovely glass of wine in the lounge was perfection. I also appreciate that Montgomery is a great easy scenic drive to many things to see and do, while being away from hustle and bustle.

What an amazing place to stay for a local wedding. The food and service were great and the rooms are clean and lovely. We really enjoyed our short time there and will definitely come by some time soon

We were a group of 4 women travelling to leaf peep! We loved the ambiance of this charming Inn - but unfortunately stayed during the time when dinner was unavailable. Although the hosts were helpful, we felt a bit abandoned during our visit.

My wife and I stayed at The INN for a few days in October . . . clean and beautiful room . . . wonderful bar with Vermont beers on tap . . . soft and cozy lounge . . . but most notable was the attention to detail: from the rattlesnake skin above the bar to the labeled jar of earplugs in the bedroom . . . just a great stay on the Trout River.

Very courteous service and an excellent breakfast. Could not have had better hosts. The food and service at the restaurant was fantastic as well.

We spent the labor day weekend at the Inn and we fell in love with this wonderful place! We are cyclists from Montreal and we cycle very often through Montgomery. What a jewel! Wonderful service, wonderful food and warm atmosphere! We recommend it highly! We had a great time and will be back!

We, a group of 5 women friends since high school, wanted an off the beaten path vacation. And Northern Vermont was fantastic! Everything was wonderful from the staff at the Inn, the rustic and most comfortable rooms and beds, the cozy ambience, and the 5 star dinner at their restaurant! Not to mention a full hearty and delicious breakfast every morning. Nick, the owner, was the perfect host! A great getaway in a beautiful, remote, and idyllic place!

The Inn at Montgomery Center is a great and wonderful place to stay. It is set in a traditional New England building and is incredibly well decorated. The rooms are nice and the owner and Inn-keeper is really nice and dilligent. I enjoyed the Trout River view and the sound of the river at night. The restaurant is very good, providing exotic game and also a good and interesting set of dishes to choose from, a very good and creative cheff, resevations are encouraged and the restaurant works only Thursday-Sunday, at least that was the case during our visit. Quite a place! The only down side that really prevented me to give a 5 star review is communications. Mobile phone coverage is extremely poor in Montgomery and unfortunately wifi at the Inn is unreliable, intermittent and slow. I highly encourage Kevin to consider improving wifi service, as no cellphone and bad wifi leaves guests incomunicated. This is a limitation in an otherwise perfect place.

We were visiting Montgomery for the first time and were looking for a rehearsal dinner venue. We truly enjoyed our time at the Inn. Such a quaint, comfortable place. It feels like home. We also ate dinner at the restaurant one night and the food and drinks were amazing. Looking forward to finalizing our plans in a few weeks. Highly recommend.

We were a group of friends looking for a nice restaurant: we have been more than impressed! The settings are beautiful, the gardens surrounding the patio and the of the restaurant are really well designed with flowers… the interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with lots of wood, the living room with the piano is exceptional…. Ally was our server she was amazing. The Chef prepared food that were fresh and really well prepared… nothing was industrialized food The Curry was one of the best I ever had. The kangaroo, the bison, the halibut, the chicken “pikata” were all very appreciated… Some of us have food intolerances and the Chef and Ally were very helpful… I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a wonderful dining experience… Thanks to all…

My wife and I attended a wedding up at Jay Peak and we decided to stay off-site and this beautiful B&B. We are so glad we did. The owners Nick, Jason & Kinga couldn't have been any more nicer or accommodating. The place is kept immaculate and the grounds are spectacular. Breakfast was included and their on-site restaurant and bar were the perfect touch our first night there. We were lucky to catch a perfect afternoon before the wedding and decided to brown bag lunch and sit by the creek in the back. Absolutely perfect. You won't be disappointed.

We spent the weekend at our favourite Inn in Vermont! This time it was with the whole family to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. Nick and Jason and the entire Inn family make you feel so welcome. We have the opportunity to take part in the first Italian night at the restaurant and it was amazing great food great prices great portions. If you have not had the opportunity to visit this incredible location tucked away in Montgomery Center, Vermont you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s really really memorable.

Another perfect weekend at the Inn. Finally had the opportunity to bring the whole family for the weekend to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. This place is my absolute favorite place to eat in town! Not only is it beautiful inside and out. I love the variety the menu has to offer. I have never been disappointed with any of the food or drinks here. The service is fantastic. My 16 yr old son loves trying new foods and my 9 month old loves their Choices of Sorbet! We loved staying here for our mini ski getaway! Room was nice and clean, bed comfortable. We only had breakfast here, but the avocado toast was delicious! This place was amazing. My friend and I are in college and decided to stay for 2 nights during spring break. Quiet at night, breakfast included which was good quality. 15 minute drive from Jay Peak. We had a wonderful stay at the Inn. The hospitality was top notch. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and modern. I'm always worried about the bathrooms being outdated but our room had a very modern and clean bathroom. The inn has unique, cozy, vintage decor and I loved looking at all the old photos on the walls and browsing the books and items in the lounge. The food was so good, especially breakfast which is cooked to order. The chef really went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. We brought our dog on our trip and we were provided with dog towels, a treat, bowls, and even a bed big enough for our 100 lb pup. There is a quiet street behind the inn where we walked our dog along the river. Jason also provided excellent suggestions for what to do in the area. The best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at. This place has nailed everything. I have nothing but good things to say about our stay. The room is not as big as we expected but it is a very cozy room with everything you need in it. Stayed here for Thanksgiving and the staff was extremely accommodating, including letting us pick up our key prior to the check-in window since we would be coming back later at night. We went to Vermont to see the fall foliage. We chose The Inn because of its location. We made the right decision! Plenty of fall foliage within driving distance. The bed and breakfast was amazing. Nick was so hospitable. He gave us suggestions on activities to do in addition to locations for viewing the fall foliage. Nick was happy to accommodate our requests. Our stay was beyond anything we could have expected! We did a last minute (pre-anniversary) night out and chose The Inn based on previous reviews, inn ambiance and dinner menu. We were blown away with the hospitality from Kinga & Jason as well as bartender Holly, it felt like we were hanging out with old friends. The food and drinks were incredible and when we told them we had to leave early in the morning, they accommodated us and made a delicious but quick breakfast! The room was lovely, we stayed in #8. If the weather was nicer we would have enjoyed the balcony. The bathroom was well decorated and had a fantastic walk-in shower. My extended family and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Inn! The Inn itself is beautiful, rustic, clean and artsy - all at once! The rooms are pretty and welcoming and the beds were VERY comfortable(and our room was quiet - even facing the street.) They did a wonderful job of accommodating my sister's feather allergy and the bathrooms were stocked with thoughtful sundries. The restaurant(and chef Jason) is amazing - dinner here is a must. Extremely inventive menu, reasonably priced wine list with great selections, and fun/inventive cocktails! I had the BEST curry with chicken that I've ever enjoyed, Breakfast comes with the room(again, chef Jason) and it was delicious. Endless coffee and juice, and yummy selections. I had the crispy avocado toast one morning, and the omelette the next. I highly recommend the INN(make sure you eat dinner there) and hope to return! We have given this place 3 tries and left feeling unwelcome and unimpressed with the food and the management of this place every time. I have worked in fine dining for over 15 years and although this place aspires to be just that it falls short on so many level. The owner has zero people skills and comes to your table, not to thank you for coming and asking if your experience of his establishment is satisfactory but to let you know how that your children are a nuisance (which they weren’t). We came to eat for my husband’s birthday, and as we are the kind of family that like to share these events with our children (I know, crazy right?) we were immediately informed that there will be no effort made into accommodating children. Not a deal breaker, we can find something they will enjoy on the menu but the deliverance of the message was intended to make you ashamed of even considering it was ok to bring children in their establishment (oh but dogs are totally welcome, we love dogs!). For the record, our children are well behaved but, like all kids, not adult quiet so while we were waiting for our food, in an attempt to be mindful of other patrons we allowed them go to the patio so they could play with strict instructions to keep it contained, since we were dining on the deck we were able to keep an eye on them. That’s when the owner decided to approach our table and unceremoniously told us to keep our children at the table. I understand his reasoning but his attitude was completely demeaning and unfriendly. As for the food, the menu had interesting items but the execution of the dishes was less than impressive. My entree (rabbit leg over risotto) was cooked properly but blend and the side dishes that we ordered for the kids meal looked like an afterthought: blend white rice, market veggies which comprised of unseasoned snow peas cooked 2 different ways, some were bright green some were brown and soggy. Fine dining means taking pride in everything that goes to the table even the side dishes especially if you’re going to make zero effort to have something on the menu that could be appealing to taste buds in training. This was definitely the last time we gave them our business. No patrons should leave feeling like they should be the ones thankful that the owner graced them with his service and they should consider themselves lucky they weren’t turned away for being accompanied with their loved ones. This is the hospitality business isn’t it? There is another establishment 5 minute drive away where you will always be greeted with a smile, will welcome young humans without bending over backwards (I’m not asking for happy meal and a playground) and the food is inspired and prepared with great care. I never write negative reviews but I just couldn’t let this one go, it bothered me all weekend. Gave it 2 stars for the hard working wait staff and the cocktails were great.

What an incredible place! My partner and I enjoyed the weekend here with our two dogs and everything was wonderful. The ambiance, the food, the service, location, everything was spectacular. The lounge has to be one of the most incredible lounges of any Inn throughout Vermont. The decorations are sensational with plenty of spots to enjoy a cocktail and wind down after exploring the area. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and pet friendly :). The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely little spot to sit by the river, relax, enjoy a fire, and take in the views. The restaurant has a fantastic menu with craft cocktails, and a great beer and wine list. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy and was so helpful suggestions for other restaurants & places to go during our visit. My husband and I recently stayed at The Inn at Montgomery for 4 nights in January. We were looking forward to snow-shoeing and skiing at nearby Jay Peak. There was a roaring fire in the lounge, their large living room area on the main floor, that had a basket of knitted blankets, games, even snacks and self-serve cocoa/coffee/tea. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and our room (the Maple Room) was quaint with beautiful bow window. We enjoyed drinks served to us in the lounge before dinner, which was out of this world. My husband had the spicy curry shrimp that was outstanding. The salmon dish that I ordered atop pesto spaghetti squash was the best salmon I’ve ever had – Jason’s signature dish. Nick, Jason and Kinga were the consummate hosts. They were all helpful, kind and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The last morning, Nick served us his caraway seed and current biscotti with our morning coffee before breakfast. It was just delicious and a lovely homemade touch. Amazing experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and very accommodating. They were able to switch our rooms to put us closer to friends. The food was absolutely delicious and the included breakfast was great before our ski trip. The staff was nice enough to let us play card games in the bar and really did everything to make our stay great. The beds are very comfortable and we slept well. My wife and I visited The Inn for New Years 2022. We had a wonderful experience. Nick is an exceptional and gracious innkeeper. The staff is incredible, kind and makes you feel right at home. The common room is a sight to behold, with a cozy vibe and a warm fire that is perfect after a day out in the mountains. The room we stayed in was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with a terrace that overlooked the Trout River. The inn has wifi, so you can work remotely if you need to check in, but for the most part it is the perfect place to unplug. The restaurant at the inn was delightful with the food and service being on par with most high end city restaurants but with a more home cooked, personally catered vibe. Wonderful. The restaurant does book up fast, but the entire area around Jay Peak is a culinary oasis and the owner is very open and transparent about recommending other places. You can tell that everyone works hand in hand to “make it” in this remote corner. The Inn offers a nice breakfast included with each night of stay. If it is a powder day and you are running out to the slopes or need an early start for a hike, there are to go coffee containers and granola bars waiting, which is a very nice touch. I have been visiting Jay Peak for 20 years, stayed at The Inn previously for a whirlwind powder weekend, and am very glad we got to come back for a longer trip and experience what this place is all about. Firstly- when I initially made this reservation over the phone, the person (male) answered with an annoyed hello. I had to ask if it was the inn. When we got the the Inn we loved it! So cute and eclectic and interesting decor. The hostess was super nice and funny. Our waitress we’d give her 10 stars out of 5!! Absolutely great service. We ordered our food, my son has a couple of allergies. We simply asked if they could remove the sauce and a different vegetable. There was A LOT of back and fourth with the weather, chef and us. Every time we were ok with the suggestion. I get it he is a chef but you really can’t accommodate peoples allergies. If you it should have been said to us upon reservation setting. Then the chef came busting through the door one octave from yelling at us! There are better ways to handling yourself!! Seriously! And when he told us what he COULD do for us it was exactly the same as the hostess had just suggested. Ultimately our salmon was good the rice was barely cooked. My husband’s dish of pasta and shrimp he did not enjoy. So us asking for no dairy was the least of his issues. Sadly we will not return simply because of the chef’s behavior.

The inn is very charming. It's in a historic house and decorated in a very warm, eclectic style. It definitely has a lot more character than a Holiday Inn. There’s one side of the inn that’s been renovated, and the rooms are more modern; see the photos from the renovated room we stayed in. The other side of the inn is more traditional; I didn’t see that part, but it sounds like those rooms are more old-fashioned style. Our room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the little touches like the hand-painted walls and the stuffed bear on the bed. We appreciated the soap and lotion dispensers by the bathroom sink and the shampoo dispenser in the shower, and that they have soft tissues, not the scratchy ones. The room didn't have a TV, and we didn't miss it. The food was really good. The breakfast is included free in the room rate, and it's the best free hotel breakfast I've ever had. We had omelets, eggs benedict, and french toast--much more substantial than a muffin and a yogurt cup. We also went to the same restaurant for both dinners, and enjoyed everything we had. Food and drinks were both yummy. The location is peaceful. There’s a river that runs behind the inn, with some chairs and a fire pit set up along the bank. We are recent retirees from academia, and we had long wanted to visit New England during the fall when our careers are prevented us from doing so. We booked two-night stays in four inns throughout Vermont, and The INN was easily our favorite. Nick is a warm, gracious host, and Portland is his dog (see the pix). We enjoyed a 2 night stay at this very beautiful property during peak foliage season. All of the rooms are decorated so uniquely, with many staying true to the 1800s era, when the home was built.
