My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night and it was perfect/incredible/amazing! The owners are sooo friendly. We also ate at the pub the evening we stayed and we got the naked New York pizza and it was delicious. We stayed in the Tavistock room and the bed was so comfortable! A cute little room, I loved it. Breakfast is included in the room cost. It was delightful. The inn/pub was about 12 minutes from Sunday River where we skied.

Go on Monday for the burger special.

Jolly Drayman definitely NOT kid friendly. We went on a Tuesday at 5:00 when it was empty and the staff seemed really put out that we had young kids with us. 1. Tables are high, but high chairs are normal height 2. They have a paper kids menu that looks like it’s meant to be colored, but their were not crayons available. 3. Our excited 3 year old asked if they had pizza and she told him to check the menu. 3. We ordered a kids milk that came in a full pint glass. When said full pint glass of milk inevitably spilled, the waitress handed us a single rag and said she didn’t have time to clean it and suggested we move tables. After that we asked for the check and our food to go... because the fish and chips ARE really good.

The food in the pub, which was just downstairs from our rooms, was great! Overall a great stay in Bethel.

The host Dani, was beyond hospitable. I came down with a stomach bug during my stay and she was so motherly. She brought me tea, toast and ibuprofen. My room was cozy, quaint and clean. Just what you would expect in a northerner new England in .

It is a pretty cool restaurant, it feels almost like a house rather than a restaurant inside which is very comforting. They have a lot of traditional British foods like fish and chips and bangars and mash on the menu as well as some Indian foods. The food is pricey but it comes out quick and is very fast. The pizza is excellent. Be careful when ordering the Delphi Greek salad because it isn't a traditional salad but rather olives and bread and cucumbers only. Our waitress Xiarra was wonderful.

Great place for dinner, English style pub with a great selection of beer. Food was great and quality was fantastic. Meals were not cheap but seems fair for what you got. Our waitress was awsome and did a great job. We wanted to eat there again while we were vacationing but ran out of time. If in the area you really need to give them a try.

This place is an enigma. Few years ago this was one of our go to places in Bethel but there was a change of staff/ owners and we had 2 bad meals in a row, burnt welllies both times and both times they were sent back and both times the replacements were also burnt. After hearing they had much improved we decided to try again and the wellies were very good, bangers and mash also. Now they may be in another staff transition because they seemed ill-informed and the website menu doesn't match the actual menu in some choices and prices. The service was good, cheerful and meal was timely. Space is quite small and large groups may have difficulty being seated.

Cena Gluten Free!! Los camareros son muy amables. Nos hicieron una ensalada cesar sin gluten de primero, muy buena. De segundo nos pedimos el salmón también adaptado a sin gluten, y la carne que estaba muy buena. Un sitio chulo y acogedor.

Was a favorite until the wait staff just didn't have a clue...was the last time!

Just want to say we had a absolute wonderful time and Enrico and Dani made sure its just like at home! We stayed in a lovely room for 2 nights and had 2 superb dinners at the Jolly Drayman, the baked Cod was out of this world!...try the yummy English "mashed potatoes", they Chef is just top notch. My husband hiked the Appalachian Trail this year and we both will return next year after we finished Katadin. Dani made the breakfasts just like at home with all the fixings and we had a lovely conversation with Enrico..Mille Grazie! We HIGHLY recommend the "Jolly Drayman" just like in good old England! Thank you so much and we will see you next year!

Could be a little difficult at times to get a table and that means a longer wait time. But the ambiance is great and the food is amazing. Definitely worth multiple visits.

Best place to eat in that region. Huge kids meals with real burgers and real chicken. The Indian is good, but the British is great. Not big, keep parties to 6 and under

Amazing food! Chicken pasty was perfectly seasoned, crispy, chicken tender, perfect size. Also had the beef Wellington. Meal was just right. Asked for medium. Got medium! Delicious! Well done!

Service was great. We had fish and chips. It was the biggest piece of fish I've ever had and tasted awesome. Drayman is one of our go to restaurants.

Great environment, beautiful place and excellent staff!

The Food was delicious. We loved the different take on the fried pickles with cheese. The burger was full of flavour and the salmon was nicely seasoned with Cajun, on the heavier side which we prefer. Service was okay, had periods of long waiting without being checked in on and didn't get a drink refill. I would go back if we are in the area.

From the beginning, their service is just like coming to a relatives house... there is a sence of home warmth everywhere. The staff is super nice. The rooms are cozy and full of details. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing by. 5 stars on my book!

Beautiful, stylish, cozy old-time pub. Large portions. Salmon, burger, fisherman's platter were all excellent. Service is friendly. Be prepared, it's a little pricey.

Best meal I've had in years and excellent atmosphere to go with it. I'm stuffed and tired so I can't write much more, but this place has made it into my top five favorite restaurants.

Food is amazing. Staff is so friendly, I love it here. Staying here after a long day of riding, highly recommend it.

This place is such a gem!! Beautifully decorated with a historic charm and comfortable accommodations to spend the night. Everyone is so kind and goes out of their way to make it a lovely stay. We had the spring rolls and the fish and chips for dinner...delicious!

Curry seafood chowder worth the stop

Such a lovely place to stay. Dani is very sweet and hard working. Room was very clean. I could smell how clean the sheets and blankets were. And they were so soft and fluffy. The room was recently renovated. New fixtures and floor in the bathroom but the room was still quaint. And the breakfast was very good. She even asks what we want to eat. An extra person ended up staying last minute and there was no issue. She went and got him extra blankets. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

If you want a homey,small town place to stay ,the Briar Inn at The Jolly Drayman is the place for you.Very nice little restaurant and bar. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Plus a delicious breakfast!

Welcoming staff and atmosphere, super burger freshly made, giant fish n chips, and a lot of other great menu options, and a good selection of beer. Always stop here when down to Sunday river.

Staying next door for the weekend, walked down to check this place out. Had dinner at the bar. Ownership just changed a couple of weeks ago, but they kept the menu and most of the staff. The bartender is the daughter of the new owners. You can tell they're still learning, but the food and service were as great as the previous reviews said. I highly recommend, and wish them the best with their new business!

Best Food around Bethel/Sunday River. Big portions of delicious British Pub-inspired food minus the football hooliganism. Fred makes a hell of a manhattan, too.
