Great place! Rather go here than any other place. We were just traveling thru and enjoyed this place.

We've stopped twice here for breakfast on road trips and the chicken fried tenderloin is delicious. It's tasty and moist and fried well. It was just as good the second time. And even better is the impeccable service.

A real nice place to eat with family or friends. Reasonable price.

Had the chicken fried tenderloin with corn, mashed potatoes and country gravy. Excellent meal, well seasoned and real potatoes. Good service with a smile.

Everything was good until we walked out to the parking lot and saw both our front hubcaps were stolen off the truck... 30 dollar meal turned into 290 dollar dinner.

This was the first time we stopped. We have driven by before but never stopped. Now we have reason to stop. If everything else is as good as what had, then we will be stopping more often.

Great surprise on the hand pressed burgers. You should market them more. Several steps up from any burger we've ever had. Very reasonable price! Highly recommend.

The sign that we should of went somewhere else was when a worker walked in with a slice of pizza from somewhere else. I said to myself is the food that bad that she doesn't want anything from where she works and more than likely gets a discount and then we tried the food, should've asked where she got the pizza from. The server was nice but by herself so service was a little slow and off but she was sweet not likely to come back.

If you had asked me last year, the review would have been awful . That being said, we enjoyed our visit to the kitchen. The food is good. The service has improved greatly! We visit there once a month during the summer months, The Kitchen has gotten better, and there's always room for improvement ...I recommend this place of business.

This place was amazing! The staff were very very nice and helpful! Our food came out quickly too. The menu was very large with lots of cool options! The food was absolutely delicious and well made! Will be returning!!!

Told them I am allergic to dairy and was told if I had grilled fish it wouldn't have dairy. I'm pretty sure they used butter so I got very sick and broke out.

Had the Reuben; was prepared perfectly and tasted great. My wife had the Ham & Cheese Omelet; was folded with lots of fillings & Hashbrowns appeared to be homemade. My mother-in-law had the Catfish Dinner; was a large fillet with a crunchy Panko breading and delicious hushpuppies.

First order of side dish was cold, but quickly rectified. Good food. And good service

The food was really good, and my girlfriend and I thought the portions were ample (despite other reviews on here). Our waitress was still in her first week and forgot a few things, but she was super friendly. She made sure my water glass was filled. It's a nice quiet atmosphere, with a small town Nebraska feel. They have a good variety of food options and breakfast served all day. If you're on the I-80 and need a nice break and a pretty good meal, this place is right off the exit. Definitely will be going back.

Met up with a relative,stood around for a bit before waited on to be seated slow one server ,she was pleasant,food was ok nothing to write home about 🤣

Food is always wonderful atmosphere is a little out dated an they have had plastic up since 2020 but the food always makes u come back

Great option for lunch or dinner if you are passing through York. Restaurant was under renovation when we were there but the waitress was very sweet, eager to please, food (comfort food dishes) were tasty, hot and prompt. Think open face chopped beef with brown mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. Priced very well.

The restaurant is a bit dated but the staff were great and the breakfast food was good. My little one gobbled down the French Toast Sticks and the omelets were good. They also did a really good job on the hash

Ordered beef vegetable soup and chicken tender salad. Very good.

There is no salad bar here. The food portions were good and the service was really good. I didn't appreciate the 2 bugs flying around our table constantly the whole time I was there, a fly and a mosquito. The fly landed on my water, and from there, I was done. The windows also need a desperate cleaning! But besides the bugs and dirty windows, it was a nice place, felt welcoming.

We were trying to find a nice diner off the interstate and indeed we did. Food and service were good. Might just need a little bit more to doctor up my coffee.

Great food. I had the chiken fried pork chop mornig edition. It was very crispy and tender quick cordial sevice. I got there at about five pm on a Friday night, it was not very busy.

Ordered the rib eye and eggs and not only was it a huge portion for a great price it was also absolutely delicious and perfectly made! Definitely going to stop in any time I'm in the area!

This is 1 of our favorite Sunday morning stops. Family owned homemade foods. Service was top notch. Make sure you get there before church gets out though.

Had a wonderful ribeye steak. Service was awesome. Turns out it was my food servers first night on the job. Service was on point. Very nice restaurant! Next time I get to York Nebraska you can bet I'll be eating there again. Steak was better than any steak I have had in Texas where I live.

Food was unfortunately not good at all and we ordered basic omelets. Pancakes were fine. Hashbrowns under cooked. You can tell the omelets are cooked on the same skillet as other foods as they had a smokey unpleasant taste and rather oily. Waitress was wonderful 10/10. Very pleasant and worked hard.

2.59 for 2 slices of toast! That is a loaf of 🍞! Told you can't get toast with breakfast meal because of Covid! Are you kidding me? Bread is very economical to make! You can't get 2 slices of bacon with your cheese omelet either. Almost 5 dollars for 4 thin slices. Abhorrent restaurant, very ditzy server that I had to repeat my order to 3 times if not four, and an assistant manager (a very young man) that is untruthful. The restroom is discusting, and the ceiling appears to have black mold around the ac/air vents. My co-worker became ill and started to lose her voice. I am fighting a headache. For the record, the cleanliness issues were noticed at the end of our meal. Flies all out side the door in a full trash can that has a birdsnest next to it with bird doo to be stepped in and cross contaminate the floor in the restaurant with bacteria! I will not return. Pray the kitchen was halfway decent.

We showed up 30 minutes before closing and was turned away even though someone walked in literally one minute before us and they were seated. Restaurant had a lot of people eating there and full staff.

Alison was an excellent server. Funny, charismatic, polite, attentive and hard worker. I ordered a ribeye and it was cooked exactly as I asked. It's a better cut of meat than you would usually find in a diner. I will eat here again. Theres a Sapp Bros adjacent to the restaurant so all you truckers can stop here for a good meal.

We tried this place because it was walking distance from the hotel. The chopped steak was okay. My wife had the quesadilla which she did not like. Service was okay. The place looked like it was being renovated.

Two young people seemed to be in charge of the resturant. Both were very capable and personable as well.

Server was very nice and friendly. She made suggestions when we couldn't decide what to get. Meals were brought out quickly and were all delicious. Definitely a place I will go to next time I'm in the area.

45 minutes of sitting here still waiting on our breakfast. Waitress has seated multiple tables and they have all been served their orders. Waitress has never gone to check on us, just keeps walking by. Another 15 minutes and we will be leaving. After 55 minutes, she finally stopped and asked us what it was we were waiting for. Our food. She forgot what we ordered, so we reordered. Took another 15 min. 2 eggs over easy came back hard, sausage links cold and nasty. It was a free meal, but I am still starving.

The food was pretty good overall and the service was good. The atmosphere is a little like a truck stop, but that makes sense given the location. My only complaint is the cost vs quantity ratio was a little off.

We arrived at this restaurant for breakfast on 5/4/23 after staying at a nearby inn, not knowing what to expect. We were not disappointed. This place is a little jewel. The service was prompt and the waitress sweet, sharp and friendly. We each ordered the prime rib breakfast - Yep! Prime Rib Breakfast! (It sounded too good to pass up!) Wow! I ordered mine with scrambled eggs, with the steak rare, while my husband ordered his eggs over easy, with the steak medium rare. The prime rib steaks are hand- cut and came to us perfectly grilled and cooked perfectly seasoned...and HUGE!!! (Enough for two meals each!) The eggs were also done perfectly, the toast tasted like the bread could have been homemade, and the coffee was also VERY good. It does look like the restaurant might be getting renovated in the back as there is plastic sheeting over the wall, but the rest of the restaurant is clean, well lit, and comfortable. If we lived nearby we would want to come here often.

I always get greeted and treated nicely there. When I told them about NAFLD (liver disease) they have been very helpful keeping me on a very low fat diet. In my opinion they've went out of there way to accommodate date me with my breakfasts there several days a week. Thank you to all of the staff at the Kitchen!!!!

Very nice place to stop and have a bite. Staff is INCREDIBLE here and take tremendous care of you. Food is very good and fair priced as well (hard to come by these days). Love the small town feel you get when you dine here and I will be back if I am out that way.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while traveling and were very glad that we did! Although currently under renovation, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The carrot bisque was amazing!

Close to the interstate so that's a plus for travelers. An awfully expensive breakfast that was average at best. And I don't eat toast with my eggs but charging extra for that on top of an already overpriced meal won't get many locals. That said, service was good and the restaurant was very clean.

Walked in ready to sit down to eat a nice meal and the line cook had decided he wanted to close the restaraunt 45 minutes early. The hostess was nice, talked him into cooking food during regular business hours. If you eat here, do it at 6 pm, he cant close down 2 hours early. Will not come here again

Ordered the hamburger and fris. The hamburger was half cooked, red inside, taste like old meat with a try at hiding the old taste. Would not recommend eating there again.

After we had a bad experience at Applebee's we were searching for a place to eat and we decided to try The Kitchen in York. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was good. The food was good. Plus we were in and out within an hour, which by far beats the 1 1/2 hours at Applebee's and we got nothing. I will definitely go to The Kitchen again. Thank you for the good service.

Food was not cooked raw hashbrowns waitress was rude and anytime you asked her anything she ran away and huffed off waitress need to learned what good customer service is. When telling the waitress about the un cooked hashbrowns she did not listen and stormed off then brought more uncooked hashbrowns and told us our bill was free and then when we were leaving she gave us a discount and made us pay for the food that she said would be free.

Eggs were cold when they came out, meat was warm but not hot. Slow service, forgot food for one of my kids. Food was decent.
