Classic American fast food joint. Local vibes, good food

Very pleasant, great service and delicious sandwiches.

First time going, old school family owned spot. If you like the diners drive in/throwback jersey gems, this is your spot. The burgers and dogs were excellent (all the way style w everything).The guys working there were very nice to the kids. I’d definitely recommend it for families and will go back in the future. Prices were very reasonable for 2024.

This is a great local texas wiener/restaurant that even has ice cream. The hot dogs and all-the-way sauce is awesome, big fan of the breakfast menu and it's nice that there is a wide variety on the menu so there is always something for whatever mood you're in. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming.

Food is AWESOME 👌🏾. Burgers and fries are top-notch! They have great ice cream as well.

Greasy hot dog and burger joint. Friendly people and dirty tables. Price were a little high for a hot dog joint. This is the reason for the 4 star.

The ice cream always tastes more like straight up ice than anything else. The hot dog all the way had a weird sour flavor. I've given this place 3 tries ... now they're out.

You ever have hot grill ? This place is better !! The chili sauce alone is phenomenal.. they recently had an owner change january 1st they are currently updating the menu.. family owned very friendly !!!

We stopped by for a quick bite. Had 2 " all the way" and 2 with mustard and kraut. Fries with gravy and with sauce. Large birch beer to wash it down! This place also has a drive thru! Plenty of parking and seats. Nice and clean with decent prices. They also have ice cream with all the fixings. I'd recommend stopping by anytime including breakfast!

Always hits the spot. Menu has everything you can imagine. Prices aren't bad. Wish they delivered.

Great food at a great price, customer service is very good! Had an incident with an order, and they were very easy to deal with. Whipping up a new order right away free of charge. Will continue to come here in the future!

Probably one of the worst places I've ever eaten I got two chili dogs and french. The french fries were bland and tasteless I had to put a half a pound of salt on them. The chili was like water. The chili tasted horrible and I couldn't even tell if the hot dog tasted good because of how bad the chili was. I don't recommend ever going here I was there at 12:30 today and there was one other person inside besides me eating.

Love the food the atmosphere and the hometown feel everytime I go in. Peter remembers myself and my husband whenever we walk in as busy as he is. He certainly deserves a vacation!

I am overdue for this review. The 5 stars ate based on its category. Its a fast food place like BK BUT cleaner, better quality, more variety, not as fast as those places. Nice local place.

We make this a regular stop now when in the area for a quick bite. Consistant quality and friendly service are rare these days. Real charcoal broiled burgers on toasted buns and real French Fries not spiced, over-seasoned battered or reconstituted stuff here. Just. Real. Fries. Bravo!

A great place to grab a quick meal. The prices are creeping up, but then so are everyone’s. Likely due to recent rapid costs increase. Friendly efficient counter staff. I don’t know why they discontinued the condiments station, it was great! They also have a selection of hard & soft ice cream.

Classic, old school burger and dog joint. They have a bunch of other stuff too, pancakes, omelettes, pizzas, etc. Got the lantern special, a dog with sauce and a bottle of soda for $13.10, good value. The lantern special I found to be random, the burger was thin and char-broiled, fine, ham charred, nice, toasted bun with raw onion, great but put altogether it needed something to marry them all up like a special sauce or cheese whiz. The hot dog was on point! Classic chili dog, deep fried with loose chili on a toasted bun.

The worst chili and cheese hotdog I ever had. Ordered two, could only stomach one. Disgusting. Gas station hot dog may be better. These reviews must be from friends.

Pete took a New Jersey institution like Hot Grill and brought its all-the-way hotdogs and stellar recipes to a new community. Make sure you try the ice cream! Folks who walked in knew the staff and brought their kids.

I was a loyal customer for 10 years and always kept my review at 5 stars. Last year, I spent $3.99 for cheeseburger all the way and it was amazing. This year, it was dry, less chili, and the buns seemed different? I spent $5.25, which is too much. Did the owners change? I thought that I heard an owner yelling at their staff, not cool. I’m not coming back here anymore. Massive disappointment.

This place has been here for years. The ATW Dogg's are good. Their sauce isn't consistent sometimes like other places I've been where it has been the same every time for years.(Hot Grill) But still a good deal for around $3.25

Finally a place with EXCELLENT Chili sauce. I bought some to take home also. They are clean, very friendly and serve you with regular plates and real utensils. I was so so happy I can get a great hot dog and chili fries and then get a mouse tracks hot fudge sundae right after. I was visiting a friend and he recommended this place and well I found my go to spot that's been around for awhile 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️

Two times. I came here. I ordered and my food was wrong. I had to use my card three times and for my effort I did get a free shake even though I had ordered it and felt as If they didn't believe me. I ordered a gyro we a Greek American I wanted to have something elinko and wanted more meat what a process everyone came to ask me over and over. I work a block away as a Supervisor and was late getting back from lunch from getting a simple order changed three times. The first time I came was a better experience despite my order wrong the waitress was very nice. I am not going with my employees again. It was an embarrassing experience for me there being questioned for my order

Disgusting at it's finest. The good had no love on it!!! But to top it off this was my 1st time eating there & upon my arrival to pay, a order of fries had a fry sticking out of the side. So..... she took it upon herself to open the container and place the fry inside with no gloves!!!! Mind you she not only was touching her mouth as I walked in but she was also touching everything else such as the counter, money, others food etc. Then when it was said to her that the order of fries was no longer wanted she acted as if it was a surprise & her words were... that it was hanging out so she put it back in as if that was ok telling the staff, she doesn't want it because I touched the fry. How can you work in the food industry & think that's ok!!!!!! Never again will I ever eat there again!!!!!

The Lantern is a family restaurant in Haskell New Jersey serving an all day menu. The menu offers breakfast, lunch and dinner items including omelettes, french toast, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, dinner entrees and ice cream for dessert. My wife and I had one of their specialties for lunch, the Texas wiener with fries. There are many Texas wiener restaurants in New Jersey and the Lantern is one of the best. Their chili sauce, in my opinion, is one of the best. Give the Lantern a try for a good meal.

All food was fresh prepared. The burgers were without sauce and had no taste. french fries was tasty but without sauce too. there was only ketchup on the table. And Calamari was really good!

Stopped in to pick up take out food- cheeseburger deluxe was supposed to be medium well. The paperthin burger was completely burnt and tasteless. Also did not get the extra order of fries that we paid for.

Cant go wrong with some cheeseburgers all the way !

Stopped by on our way home trying to get a good hot dog and this was it! Horrible the meat was cold and the way it was served is absolutely horrible. Food is not tasty at all and the lady who took the order little blonde girl was very rude when taking our order.

Came out to the farm to save a baby raccoon and stopped by for lunch. Great steak sandwich made with real steak! Clean friendly and they have fresh Ice cream❤️ Great spot to stop for a good quick lunch.

We were greeted with attitude at the drive thru, didnt ask how we wanted our burgers and we received no ketchup. The bread looks moldy and the burgers were well done (which is not what we asked for). The person this is about is a average sized white girl who works there, she has short blond hair in a pony tail and she’s working rn. 5/09/22 at 6.58pm.

My 2 year old daughter fell backwards off their outside table. We asked for ice and it appeared to be a hassle, they gave us a cup of ice with no way to apply it to her head. To top things off the buffalo wings were cold in the center and when we alerted the staff, they continued to fry them and brought them back out with the half eaten piece there as well. Left without eating. Never coming back. *Notice the circled wing in the picture that was refried with (maybe yours?) other people's food*

Ordered a $10 steak sandwich, literally got a thin piece of steak on a roll, no mayo,onion nothing $10 dollars for a dry steak sandwich no thanks very disappointed

It's one of the few places that sell the New Jersey all the way burgers and dogs dogs(kinda like a chilly burger or chilly dog) It's the sister store of the Goffle Grill and it's quality shows. It's not for from my job so when I got cash to spare I go before and sometimes during work on my lunch break. Great place, great food. Try it if your in the area. There Taylor ham and cheese is pretty good as well.

I love the French toast, the grilled cheese, the salads, but my favorite is the roast turkey wrap!

Stopped in here after a nice hike in nearby Ramapo Mountain. Nice and clean, prompt service and friendly staff; Texas Weiners and fries with gravy hit the spot. Variety of other typical grill fare.

Had one of the best Taylor ham, egg and cheese on rye toast sandwich there. They have a Huge menu which I thought they only had hot dogs. Very friendly service! Will definitely be going back!
