Love this place so much we drive from Omaha, NE just to eat here

Came here for the first time on my birthday. I brought my baby with me, and soon realized it wasn’t really the place to bring a baby. They could have been judgy and rude about it however it was the opposite, the staff were so accommodating offering me a pot of water to heat up a bottle and cleaned his toy he dropped on the ground. One of the waitresses interacted with him the whole time and kept him happy and distracted. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

The ideal fondue experience. Feel free to a la carte or do a 4 course dinner with cheese fondue, salad, meat or veg dinner with a chocolate fondue dessert.

Fun experience. Pricey, but I feel like you pay for the experience of fondue more than anything. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful.

They were so sweet and surprised me with this birthday display! Delicious and great service!

Everything was marvelous from start to finish. We ordered the smaller version of their meal for two. Four courses that were all delicious! Our service was excellent. We were celebrating a special occasion so were ok with the high price of our meal.

I hate writing this review but I’m writing it in hopes that the establishment will find a solution to the issues we experienced. When we arrived and walked back to our seat the floor was so slick I almost fell. There were signs up so I was walking carefully but it was still hard to walk safely. After being seated we were greeted and given waters immediately which was wonderful. We ordered our food and noticed how warm it was in the establishment. We have been here several times and while you are eating it can get warm from the cooktops but this was before our cooktop was on. We got our salads and began to eat then our waitress brought the broth base. She said she would be back with the additions to the bases and the proteins. We waited for 30 minutes and the whole time it was getting warmer and warmer. I was pouring down sweat as was my 7 year old and husband. It was so warm that our ice in our water melted completely and the water felt warm. I flagged down a waiter and asked if we could just pay for the salads because I was so miserable I couldn’t wait any longer. They offered a discount if we stayed and my son had his heart set on melting pot so we stayed. The service did improve and our waitress really was wonderful she just had to work tables and the bar and with the amount of people it was too much on one person. By the end of the meal I was getting a headache from being so hot. I went to the bathroom to put some cool water on my wrists and almost fell again on the slippery floors. This is when I realized that the reason the floor was so slippery is because of the humidity in the building who h is contributing to the excess heat. I don’t think we will be returning unless the temperature is adjusted. The food is wonderful and so were the staff so if you don’t mind a sauna like environment while you eat then you will have a great time.

Really cool spot in KC. It's a tucked in and cozy atmosphere with great food and good service. Emily waited on us on our anniversary and made sure we had an awesome experience. The menu can be a bit overwhelming to pick from but she made it easy and helped us make the right choice for us. Hoping we get her the next time we visit (which might be soon!)

We arrived near closing time and they all received us with open arms. Our server Donya was great! Took her time explaining everything to us and constantly checked up on us. It was a great first time experience. Not sure if this place is Asian inspired - but if it is, it needs more side option like rice, corn, kimchi, starter etc so you don’t eat the meat on its own.

Came and had just dessert this time with the family. Was definitely still a great experience and will definitely be doing it again and can't wait because every time it's been delicious

Me and some friends were visiting from out of town and decided to try Melting Pot and it did not disappoint!! We had Levi as our server and he was nothing short of excellent! He made our experience even more enjoyable with his awesome attitude, and helped us figure everything out. The food was also amazing! High recommend this location!!

We went here for my daughter’s 18th birthday. The server was amazing and brought out a surprise happy birthday dessert plate! My daughter loved it. High quality food and service. Great establishment!

Amazing food service and environment!

Dined here the last day I was home before heading to the military, Teresa is the BEST waitress. She really made it a special day and is the greatest waitress I’ve met there, though they’re all fantastic!

Quality of food still good after all the years I have been going there! Prices are higher, experienced seems rushed. Our waiter was attentive, but talked so fast about how everything worked to our new guests, it was confusing to them! I can't say I personally like the grill pan idea, because you're there for the fondue experience, but I guess good for some. But always fun if you have a good group or with someone who enjoys a slow dinner!

They light up a burner at the table, and bring you a bowl of cheese mixed at the table with beer and seasonings for the main course, or chocolate for the dessert. Then they bring you a platter with an assortment of items to dip, like bread, broccoli, peppers, and such. Or strawberries, apple pieces, and such for dessert. It is relatively expensive, I didn't feel like our food on our particular visit was very fresh or worth it ... The dining experience was kind of fun, but we could have had a much better meal for much less, or spent the same amount at a much fancier restaurant with really good interesting appetizers, main courses, and dessert. The service was plenty friendly, but very slow - we *were* there on a busy day for a special occasion, but it took us almost, I want to say, three hours to get food and finish dinner for two. So, allow for leisurely dining. All in all, it is kind of a fun experience that might be worth trying, but if you go, don't go with high expectations.

My husband and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary tonight. Our server, Hector, was absolutely phenomenal! He made our dinner experience top notch.

The Melting Pot in Kansas City is a total win for a fun and delicious night out! We all had the fondue experience of our dreams. The cooking broths were perfect for our meats and seafood, and the chocolate fondue for dessert was pure decadence. But what truly elevated our experience was Sara. She wasn't just checking in, she genuinely made us feel welcome and valued. She even took the time to chat with us and we had so much fun. We will be back!

Took my friend here for her birthday dinner, from the moment we walked in we knew we were going to have an amazing experience. We were greeted right away and seated with in a minute or two after checking in. The staff and managers were really nice and worked incredibly well together. Every staff member that passed by had said happy birthday to my best friend (she had a sash that said birthday girl). Meredith was our server and was really good at explaining everything and very attentive. Morgan the bartender had refilled our drinks when they were low and a few other servers had stopped by to make sure we were ok. I had seen the managers walking around and interacting with the guests they even stopped by a few times to make sure everything was going good and see if we had needed any thing like refills or more dippers. We were both really amazed at how well the staff and managers worked really well together to give us a perfect start to her birthday night! Thank you Melting Pot Staff!! We both will be recommending this place for a while and will be back soon!!

Fun place to take the kids for a staycation. Loved the double dipper. It was a great addition to our favorite spinach and artichoke fondue. Sadie our server checked on us several times and made sure to keep our drinks filled.

My boyfriend and I came to eat here to treat ourselves during our kid free weekend trip and it was the BEST decision we could’ve possibly made! We had an unpleasant experience with the next table over and the staff was so kind, sincere and accommodating! Everyone that works here is amazzingg! We had the pleasure of being served by Shaun, he was very patient explaining the different types of cheese fondues, the sauces (more than once oops) and told us abt how long their establishment has been there etc, he is a very helpful and attentive server! Sadie also was a breath of fresh air to talk to, gave us plenty of bar recommendations and knows the area incredibly well!! Literally the sweetest person I could have spoken to! The manager Sarah dropped by our table twice to make sure the rest of our dinner was pleasant and comfy! They even sent us home with their seasoning 🙌💞 There is sooo much more to say but I’ve already typed out a trilogy but I can not stress enough how amazing this establishment and staff is! If you’ve read this far this is your sign! 15/10 recommend! Thank you everyone for an incredible experience❤️

This was my first time coming to the Melting Pot of KC. We were here for my wife’s birthday. The food was decent, but I’m extremely unsatisfied with the service and the organization of things. We had a party of 3 and we purchased the new Ultimate 5-Course Experience for all three of us. There was no physical menu, nothing on the website, or any fine print explaining that the fondue options were limited to the Ultimate 5-course and we were also told by our server that we could not add anything from the regular a la carte menu onto our ticket nor could the 3rd person in our party choose a different fondue than what My wife and I chose. I did not like the 15-20 minute wait times after we were done with each entree leading to an almost 3 hr stay. I also noticed several instances of disorganization in the restaurant such as the payment process. Someone came and picked up our check to be processed after we were done, and then our waiter asked us for our check not realizing it was already picked up. To call this restaurant “fine-dining” is an egregious exaggeration. This was a rather poor experience that does not justify a $290.33 price tag.

Sadie joy was our server and she is beyond amazing. Even if the food was bad which it was not her customer service alone would of brought me back to this location.. she is amazing and cares sooo much about customers experience. She deserves so much praise and promotion. Heard she has been there for 4 plus years and she lives it and deserves all the praise

My boyfriend and I just came here for a date night and I believe our server’s name was Meredith, I really wish I could remember because she was wonderful! She made sure it was an extra magical experience and I seriously cannot wait to go back. We did the 5 course experience and my only complaint was that I wish we got more of those delicious green goddess and bacon stuffed tomatoes 🤣 they were so good! I also love to see the manager out on the dining floor and really taking the time to make sure everyone is catered to. The manager Sarah was so lovely and welcoming and greeted us with a big beautiful smile. Melting Pot has such speakeasy vibes and the food is incredible. Seriously, everything we tried was SO flavorful and thoughtfully curated. The cute little bites really add up and you will get full faster than you think 😅 We ended our meal with the smores fondue AND the white chocolate with birthday cake~ and let me tell you, I can’t decide which one I loved more 😩 Between the phenomenal food, drinks, and service~ we will be back! Already plotting to go for my birthday at the end of the month 🙌🏻 thanks again to our amazing server and super sweet manager, and also to the kitchen because they really make magic happen back there 💕

Very romantic. Our server made our dining experience even better, she was just amazing. Plenty of food and the overall experience is just simply incredible. It was my first time eating here from out of town. the food was good but the service was subpar. I was waking to the bathroom and the manager Josh was pointing his finger in an employees face yelling. I was appalled and couldn’t believe he was treating an employee that way. I won’t be back.

Wow! Overpriced and even worse I got sick by the time the meats came out. We sat over 2.5 hours for like warm cheese and spoiled meats. I immediately got SICK had to spend 30 mins in the restroom. Only to exit and leave to go home to the bathroom for the next 2 hours :-(. I’m feeling better today but I definitely got FOOD POISONING. After a quick google search this isn’t a rare occurrence here at the melting pot. In fact, in 2018 they were shut down due to sooo many code violations. Also found about 3 articles on others getting food illnesses while there and right after. Including a very lengthy Reddit post. YIKES SHALL NEVER RETURN. the food and service is very very poor. The prices are literally $40 per item per person.

This was my husband and I’s first time coming in and we had the best time!! We came to celebrate my 30th birthday (May 2nd) and our service was amazing! Our server was friendly and helpful. He explained everything and made sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious and the entire experience was relaxing and romantic. Atmosphere was quiet and we had a private booth, so we got the curtains closed to give us a more intimate experience. We will definitely come back again in the future! 100/100

5 Star dining experience! Our visit to The Melting Pot in KC was a great meal and FUN experience for our family! The staff and atmosphere are top notch, the service prompt, and the food was delicious. We love trying a new fondue every visit, with the Mac & Five Cheese (Definite appeal for the kids!) being especially delicious on this visit. Special kudos to the General Manager Josh who paid our table an early visit, and Chloe our waitress who was incredibly attentive, explaining the myriad of choices available. Definite MUST visit!

We went for a birthday celebration for our niece, and it was a very nice evening. Our waitress, Theresa, was outstanding, and made the experience as good as it was. The food was good, and the fondue experience is fun. Because of the expense, this will only be a very special occasion restaurant for us.

Hadn't been there for years. We had a great time. We will have to not stay away so long. The only misstep was that they didn’t have the wine I wanted. Chalk it up to supply chain issue!

Our server, Erika, was amazing! The food was so delicious and served with a smile. The upper management staff stepped in and helped our server and stopped and made sure we were doing well all night. The General Manager helped clear our table! And, they gave us each a Tiara to wear and keep! This was an amazing experience! Everyone should eat here, and ask for Erika to serve you!

My sister's and I celebrated my birthday by treating ourselves to dinner at The Melting Pot. Our server, Erika J., was fabulous! She and the whole management staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed not only the wonderful food but the experience. 10/10 Recommend! 10/10 ask for Erika!

We got engaged and celebrated here. It was such a magical experience! Our waitress named Dania was so amazing! She helped us celebrate in such a special way! This experience will never be forgotten! Excellent food too! Can’t speak highly enough!

We went to go celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary with so much excitement and were disappointed with the service received. We drove more than an hour for the experience of the melting pot and we didn’t feel welcomed at all by our server. Her name was Meredith, first of all she just didn’t take the time to explain anything about the menu or gave any suggestions, 2nd after ordering we received a pot with chocolate that was cold. She forgot to turn on the cooktop. The experience of alcohol and fire for the smores dessert didn’t even happen because she didn’t explain and just did it quickly a tiny flame appeared and she poured the graham crackers which stopped the fire immediately. There was no time for us to experience or take pictures after spending $30 on a dessert experience very disappointed. After that she didn’t come to check on us for refills and just presented us with a check as we’re still finishing up our dessert. With the check we did ask for some strawberries which they were out of at the restaurant and cookie cubes that she didn’t even come back with. Also in the beginning she asked if we were celebrating something and we said anniversary she just didn’t care. If I am spending so much for an experience I very disappointed with the service received by the server. I don’t know if she was having a bad day but even if she is please have someone else serve the customer because she ruined our moment of celebration. If I could I would have given 0 stars for service.

Last night we celebrated my birthday at the Melting pot. We had our first course of cheese, then salad and the grill.. one of the sweet ladies, not sure if she was a manager, host I’m not sure, but she brought over a teddy bear for my toddler. It was so nice. Right as we received the chocolate fondue, and sang happy birthday, disaster struck. My toddler vomited all over me. Our server ( i wish so much I could remember her name she was so sweet and took such great care of us) and the AGM, and others jumped right into action. They helped as much as they could in the situation, and even comped our chocolate and helped us pack it up. They reassured us it was okay, and it happens. The area we were in was pretty warm, and they immediately put in a work ticket to get the air checked. They were on top of everything and so awesome. Best service we have had in a long time. Thank you all so much!!

While going out with a large family can be challenging, The Melting Pot has made our triplets birthday fun nonetheless. I am already being asked to go back next year.

We went to The Melting Pot for Easter dinner and had the most wonderful service from Hannah. As someone who has been a fonduer for years, my standards are unrealistically high, but Hannah met them with insurmountable ease. She was warmhearted, kind, efficient, and willing to go above and beyond to cater to all my diva requests (extra white bread, extra teriyaki sauce pls!). Not to mention her timing was impeccable—which veteran fondue goers know is crucial to the delicacy!!!! I’m literally excited to go back knowing that I can request her as my server. ❤️❤️❤️ thanks for making our night a little brighter, Hannah! ✨

You start your experiential dining with veggies, fruits, and assorted breads to dip in your choice of cheese fondue. Next up is your choice of salad...I picked the beautiful Cherry Blossom salad which was very fresh and full of color. Next up is your choice of broth to cook your entree in. We picked the Land & Sea and the Seafood Island entrees, which had chicken, duck, salmon, tuna, shrimp. There are more options as well as a vegetarian entree if that is your preference. Dip your meats and veggies in your choice of sauce and cook it to your perfection. Last up is dessert of course! We picked the flaming turtle paired with fresh fruits, brownies, cookies and more. The Melting Pot is a fantastic spot for a date night, to celebrate an event, or to bring friends/family from out of town. Stop by this fun dining experience today!

Dined in during our staycation with Collin as our Server. Very timely and helpful. Josh the GM stopped by and checked on us, we really appreciate managers checking in on us. The helping of food we got for the cost was perfect. If you have restrictions as far as Vegetarian or Gluten Free they do have these options, we did not use, but it sounds like they take this seriously when brought to their attention.

Hands down the best first experience at a Melting Pot Restaurant. The staff was so very accommodating for my disabled family members. It was an easy place to navigate. The food was amazing - highly recommend especially for celebrating special occasions!

I sure wanted to give this 5 course ultimate experience 5 stars but I cannot. Our bill with tip was $345.00. We had the 5 course meal $100 plus each, 2 drinks at $15 each, the charcuterie board $14 - not worth the money and coffee at $3.50 I called TWICE to confirm that they had us down for private dining for a birthday celebration and each time it was met with, oh yes, we have this on the reservation. Nope, did not happen. Our meal was spent facing the view of a trashcan and fire extinguisher in the kitchen. The meal was okay but surprised at the small entree servings since we were paying $100 plus per person. The 5 course ultimate experience came with a vase and red roses.....not worth the total price charged for the Ultimate Experience. Doubtful we will return.

Such a unique and exciting way for a special romantic dinner with your other. Went for a 6 year anniversary and was blown away by Theresa's service in the lovers lane section. She was attentive and had wonderful suggestions. We did the thursdate thing and had a rose pedal heart for our occasion. Then had a custom little thing at the end.

Great time to specialize and spend time together while sampling and cooking food a bite at a time. Good company makes it a great time!

No real food, steamy hot the whole room where you’re at, drinks with no flavor and the birthday gift it’s literally a line of whipped cream, so clearly not the expensive dinner you’d like to have

I love this place. One of my favorite places to eat in Kansas city. I only give 4 stars because I wish it were a little cheaper but that's everything these days. Great time Y'all should definitely give it a try

My experience at melting pot was great, the servers were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, my favorite was the s’mores chocolate dip. Will be coming back!

My husband and I had reservations on a Saturday for lunch. The hostess would barely look at us when we checked in, and somewhat rudely told us to wait while they got the table ready. Once it was she walked us to our booth, which was wedged in the corner right next to the only other two occupied tables. There was no music playing, so we were all sitting in awkward silence. If someone whispered to their table we could all hear. After 10-15 minutes of sitting in uncomfortable silence and never seeing a waiter we decided to leave. I’m disappointed, as I’ve been before for girls nights and enjoy the food.

First time, dessert only, delish, street parking can be sketchy, fortunately parking garage available, which has an pedestrian exit right next door to restaurant. Great server, fun with the kids especially. Fountain drink was 7.00 bucks, which I thought was rather steep so beware. But overall a good experience.

First time at melting pot today and it was a great experience:) We had Sadie as our server and she was amazing, always made sure our food was good and drinks were full! Daniella was an amazing server who did an amazing job of walking us through our first time here. WOW! What a great experience! It was just fun. Makes me want to get a fondue set for home!!! They made this big by a memory maker and my wife felt so loved on! Oh the raspberry salad was too sweet for me. Otherwise everything killed! Would come again.

I have been coming here almost every single year for my birthday since I was 15 y/o! It’s always a lovely experience. This time, Shaun was our server and he had such genuine, positive vibes, and he was very attentive!

Love love love it here. We have never had a bad time when at the melting pot. It isn’t just dining. It’s an experience and opportunity to slow down and connect with those you choose to share a meal with. Lovely staff who are patient and willing to assist new customers who need help with the menu. The food is always great, it’s an amazing family dinner or anniversary spot for something slow and delicious while providing a nice environment. Over our many visits there is not much we have not yet tried. Nothing has disappointed including the fun drink menu ! We love the ying yang dessert pot for the kids while my wife and I get the smores. Main courses the kids gravitate toward grilling their food where my wife and I like the more savory choices. Lovely all around. OH and their salad with the honey mustard dressing is an absolute hit !

You come here for the experience but a pretty expensive experience. If you are after amazing food for the amount you spend go elsewhere. We were after the experience and it was great. My daughter loved it and I had fun as well.

Our party did the 4-course meal We were there for 3.5 hours and it was great! 1st course we selected the Wisconsin Cheddar and Spinach Artichoke 2nd course was mixed between House and California styles 3rd course was selection of several types of steak, pork, chicken and shrimp we chose Court Bouillon and Coq Au Vin cooking styles Instruction for cooking times let you decide how much well cooked you want everything There were 5 delicious diping sauses 4th course everyone had the Flaming Turtle The Kicker: one in our group has Celiac's disease - allergy to glutten Melting Pot and our waiter were totally prepared for people with Celia'c disease and made it a wonderful experience for her Thank you so much It was really close, but our group agree The Melting Pot was #1 of the four restaurants we visited.

We came to have our own personal gender reveal and the staff loved it! The managers came by to make sure everything was good and were awesome. Our server, Nick, was fantastic. He made sure we had everything we needed the whole time and made sure we didnt have to think about anything but enjoy ourselves. The staff always seem to go above and beyond, we love this place for all our special celebrations.
