Sunday Brunch at Newman’s Restaurant inside the Orchard Inn is a very special experience. Last Sunday, we had brunch there with our guests from Charlotte and Pinehurst. To say they were impressed would be a gross understatement. All of the individual parts of the "Newman's experience" came together. The weather, the porch setting, the mountain views, the food, Lynn's service and their fantastic Bloody Mary's (!!) worked as a team to make it a very memorable experience. Throughout breakfast, I noticed our guests quietly taking it all in. The experience put them "in the moment." More than once and without any prodding, someone would say something like, "what a great place." As locals, it made us proud to show off one of the most special experiences in Saluda. The owners, Marc and Marianne, and the entire staff have created a very special place. It's a great restaurant that also creates memories.

Wonderful people run this place and are present and friendly. It has a truly homey feel. The common spaces are comfortable and offer plenty of relaxing things to occupy one's time. The food was tremendous. The setting is spectacular. We cannot wait to return. I enjoyed hanging out with Roxy!

Just fantastic. The innkeepers and staff do a fantastic job with this beautifully located and historic building. We also spent a couple nights in the log cabin, a truly five-star room. The restaurant and dining were five stars also.

I have stayed in quite a few nice hotels and bed and breakfast inns in the NC mountains. This was my favorite! The location is superb if you aren't trying too be close to Asheville. We loved the spot on top of the mountain with superb views from our cottage and pretty much any where we were near the Inn. The service was top notch with a lot of special little touches. The breakfasts were outstanding. We loved the Holly Cottage. We also each got a wonderful massage at the spa. This lovely Inn is close to several cute towns including Tryon and Hendersonville. We look forward to going back again in the Fall.

I visited the spa!! Thank you Ariadna Solis !! Much needed and long over due for such a relaxing facial 🧖‍♀️ 😍 Relaxation starts the moment to arrive with amazing view ⛰️ 🐟!! I highly recommend you check them out! On top of that they use organic products at the spa😍 which in my eyes is a huge plus ! Excited to say I can’t wait to visit again !!! Thanks again !!

Simply put: Wow! Over the top! What a find! Nobody cares like an owner cares and that is reflected in the quality of everything you'll find at the Orchard Inn. The owners, Marc and Marianne, and their sons, Adam and Michael, have put their hearts and souls into the Inn. It shows. A new enclosed, heated and toasty warm outdoor, white-table-cloth dining deck looks out on a 290-degree panorama of the Blue Ridge Mountains. No other structures are visible for miles. In every season it's the best view around. It's just you, the mountains and a roaring fire in large fireplace. The Newman's Restaurant chef is deserving of a Michelin star with the menu and care he took with our New Years Eve multi-course, 5-hour-long extravaganza. Each course was perfection from the seared scallops and filet mignon to the flaming baked Alaska. The Inn itself is spotlessly clean, graciously appointed, charming and central to so much that this region offers. Treat yourself to a stay and dinner here. We will be back...over and over again.

This is an excellent bed and breakfast. The cabin we were in had a little screened in back porch. The rooms were up dated and very clean. We would definitely go back here for a weekend getaway .

I realized I didn't do a review from my stay in Nov 2021. The visit was lovely so I wanted to share. Myself along with 8 other women attended a two day retreat hosted by a colleague and friend. The Orchard Inn accommodated us all. We utilized a room in the Spa as our meeting area each day which is more recently built building than the Inn as a reference. You reach the Spa via a short stone step walk with trickling water. Sooooo peaceful. It also has balcony chairs to take in the peace and beauty. The views from both the Spa and the Inn, especially in early November, was filled with multiple colors and hawks flying overhead. The breakfast and lunch area is filled with windows and you can certainly take in the views as well as local birds. We had a gathering by the large gas firepit one night. There are rocking chairs and swings and little places here and there to read a book. There is a sprawling front porch that welcomed you. I stayed in the large cottage with one of the other retreat guests. It was really too large for our needs but we thought we'd have a third person when registering. It worked perfectly for us to chat at night after the days events and was only a short walk to thr main part of the Inn. The furniture is indeed rustic (I saw a negative comment in another review) however it is well taken care of and very comfy. My vanity appeared to be antique and quite beautiful. I slept like a baby which is unusual for me when I travel. I was enthralled by the number of plants including the large and heavy blooming Christmas cacti. I share this as it shows the love and daily care that goes into the Inn. The town of Saluda is lovely and filled with shops that welcome you as a friend, not a stranger just as they did at The Orchard Inn. I really need to schedule a visit and bring my husband.

The dogs are cute and the grounds and dining deck are beautiful. The accommodations are too rustic for us and too small. The dinner staff were excellent as was the meal that night, breakfast was decent, but nothing special. They desperately need to renovate the bathrooms and update the gross, worn furniture. I am truly surprised to read all of the perfect reviews, our stay was pretty bad and I wouldn’t return. The innkeepers turned sour when we complained about the room being small and didn’t feel comfortable staying there. We said we’d like a refund and we’re going to stay somewhere else. The wife begged us to stay and said she’d give us an upgrade to a cottage as a gift. She was insistent and this was a kind gesture, so we stayed. The cottage also had old eclectic furniture (looks like it’s from the side of the road), a window air conditioning unit, and a cracked vanity, but it was much bigger and we appreciated her gesture. Upon checkout the husband presented us with a bill for dinner and the room upgrade. We were surprised given she had stated the room upgrade was a gift to us. We let him know what had happened, and he responded that he knew our situation, but that they do not give free room upgrades for instances where we find the room unsatisfactory (he said it was the first time he’d had a complaint about the room furniture and size, which I highly doubt). We asked to speak with his wife, who he said was out, so he called someone (presumably her) and walked away. He came back and said that they are only willing to cover half the upgrade. We agreed because it was really awkward and I guess she didn’t explicitly state that it was free, but we did feel misled given she had said it was a gift to us. UPDATE: our stay was recent. We most certainly did not have an updated bathroom.
