Wow! I didn't know what hit my mouth. My husband brought home the Ck Bac Ranch last Monday. I sent him back 2 more times that week. We shared a Cuban and a Ruben. Hands down the BEST sandwiches I have ever had. The quality and diff flavors in the meat alone, top notch. "Shrinkflation", doesnt exist here!

Best sandwich I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of sandwiches. They are infectiously passionate about their craft and quality there of. Yes, it's in a building with a gas station. Don't let that throw you. Red Star is awesome!

This place is IT! The workers are extremely friendly and the food is absolutely top notch. We got tuna on Rye and a foot long Italian and both were deeelicious. The Italian is moist, flavorful, and HUGE. Definitely two portions worth. The tuna was just as good and we’d easily get it again! We also got the soup of the day (creamy potato) and macaroni salad. Phenomenal. Both of them. The ingredients here are so fresh, you can taste the quality in every bite. Also very reasonable prices! We only wish they were open on the weekends. An absolute gem of a place, we will be back!

Had the beef po boy special. Outstanding. The beef was so juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Def will be returning.

To die for is an understatement! The staff is top notch and the food is even better!! I'm so happy we happened upon this wonderful establishment and the amazing food it had to offer. After stopping by the gas station it was connected too and smelling whatever delicious food they were cooking up we ventured over to find a heaven in disguise. 10 out of 10. Will for sure be back! Amazing selection of fresh food. We had guests in town and wanted to pick up lunch. All the sandwiches and sides were amazing, and we are picky about our subs. Super friendly service and we love having this local gem in town!!

Just a little gas station sandwich shop with the best sandwiches. The meatball sub is out of this world. The Cuban sandwich is wonderful. The beef po'boy is fantastic. Many homemade add ons available that really kick up the flavor. You got to try it.

I've driven past this place so many times and I regret never going in. These are the best sandwiches I've pretty much ever had. Everything is made fresh, you can really tell they care about their food. The wait can sometimes be a little long because everything is cut/toasted/grated/prepared right in front of you, but it's truly worth the wait. And the cookies are ginormous! Going to be my new favorite place for a the foreseeable future! Edit* went back again for different foods and everything was still fenomenal! Got some pics this time too.

I saw this place on line while at work in the area and wanted to stop by and support a local restaurant, and most privately owned restaurants attached to a gas station tend to be phenomenal, as a former professional chef I had to check it out! I got one of the specials: Chuck roast po-boy, braised Chuck roast, Swiss cheese, French loaf, added the sweet pepper jam, remoulade aioli, lettuce and red onions. Easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Quality ingredients and obviously made with love. I cannot wait to come back again. Fresh baked chocolate cookie as well, and bangin sweet tea! Great price and limited menu to focus on quality and deliciousness. Great job Red Star kitchen!!!

These ladies made an excellent Cuban pork sandwich, with marinated pork shoulder, ham, Swiss cheese, pickle chips and a great homemade tangy mustard on warm chibata bread. It was a tasty treat that we will return for again. I highly recommend you eat here !

Killer Beef PoBoy - nice folks - A+

Literally have never written a review of anything in my life, I even called to see where I should write it. This is the best deal to get food in Asheville, and the best place to get a sandwich by far. Ten bucks for foot long seems reasonable but they somehow have the amazing skill to stack an entire meals worth of food onto both halves of that without it falling all apart. So you end up getting two meals for 10 bucks. (9.50) And, unlike a lot of places like a Mexican joint or something where you can also get a lot of food, it’s perfectly set up to save half of it for later so you don’t feel as tempted to try to finish it all and end up not having enough to save and a sore stomach from eating too much. Highly recommended. Also they have horseradish. Also try the pepper jelly spread.

A great local sub shop that has quality ingredients for their sandwiches at a good price. Awesome people working here.

The Red Star Kitchen is unassuming but dont let that fool you...they have the best sandwiches around, hands down. The bread is phenomenal, the staff is fabulous...just check this place out. Red star... more like gold star! ☆☆☆☆☆
