The Rustler is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. The atmosphere of the bar is very cozy, and the employees make you feel very welcome, almost like family. On top of all of that, the food is phenomenal! I would recommend visiting to everyone!

We came here to celebrate a successful go live for a local hospital and it was awesome. I had the filet and shrimp which was great but the highlight was the sautéed crab claws. OMG those crab claws 10/10....Definitely would recommend.

This was quite a surprise outside Meridian MS. The food was fantastic! One of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Salad, vegetables, and steak were done to perfection. Glad to know about The Rustler!

We are from New Orleans and stopped here for a date night while visiting family. It was GREAT. Steak was cooked perfectly and the service was unbeatable. We had Chloe and Sims. We would highly recommend.

We ate at The Rustler Lounge. Loved it! Semmes was awesome and the scallops, crab claws (both were great but sauteed preferred) and sourdough bread was amazing!

The service was fantastic! As weary eyed travelers, we were educated on the restaurant’s family owned history since 1990. Sautéed crab claws, crab dip, and filet will not disappoint! This place is gem and would recommend to anyone to who happens to stop on Meridian, MS.

Travel everywhere around the United States this is one of the best restaurants anywhere. Customer service second to none. Always are greeted by the owners daughter and she never fails to come out the door and tell you goodbye and thank you. Awesome restaurant.

This was a lucky find while we were passing through Meridian. While it’s fine dining, it is a cozy atmosphere, set in an older yet remodeled home. The music was perfect, upbeat jazz at a perfect level. The fried, sliced mushrooms were so delicious, probably my favorite thing tonight! They were sliced and lightly battered and served with a comeback sauce which was my husband’s favorite, but I loved it with their ranch! I ordered the barbecue shrimp and a Caesar salad which I thought was great; sometimes they’re a little too potent. This one was well dressed and tasty. The shrimp was in a sauce that was very good. It was a thicker sauce than I’m used to with barbecue shrimp, but I loved it. My husband ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to perfection and was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The baked potato was a yummy side and it came with a choice of vegetable. He got the asparagus. It was charred and really good, especially with fresh cracked pepper and little salt. I highly recommend The Rustler. Oh and…I loved the touch of the monogrammed napkins!

In a quiet location. A very cozy restaurant. The mood and lighting are good. The food is delicious and we had great service. A great wine and drink list. Come with a little extra money.

Tonight i treated myself to a nice dinner. I had a great petit filet, loaded baked potato. I was surprised to find Brussel Sprouts on the menu. Thats a rare find to say the least

I was shocked by how good The Rustler was. Everything about it was amazing. The bread was the best bread I have ever had. The butter was the best butter I have ever had. The salad dressing was the best I have ever had. The filet that I got melted in my mouth and I have never had a steak finer anywhere else. The staff is amazing and it is the best dining experience that one can have. Do not hesitate to go to The Rustler. It’s just one of those places that everyone needs to go to in their lifetime. It’s like Heaven.

My husband and I came here for my Birthday dinner. We drove 1 1/2 hours each way to try this place after hearing about the rave reviews. We weren’t sure what to expect but wow! This was more than worth the drive. The steaks were absolutely perfect. The Parmesan cream sauce and crab meat was divine. And the crab claws were amazing. I told the waitress it was my birthday and she brought out a dessert with happy birthday written on the plate which was a sweet surprise. We are already planning to come back for our anniversary. Thank you for an amazing birthday dinner!

I have been wanting to eat here ever since a friend of mine suggested it about five years ago and I started following The Rustler on FAILbook. My wife and I finally got the chance to stop in on our way to Huntsville. I had the bacon-wrapped scallops and the fried crab claws for an appetizer and my wife ate one or two of the crab claws. (She thinks she's fat, you know?) I had the filet and shrimp and she had a filet. The food was stellar! Service was great and everyone was on point. Great work all around. I will definitely be back!

We came a little early and Ms.Semmes let us right in! She was so polite! Glad to know there are still nice people like her! We sat down ordered and Gracie brought our meal right out, We had the prime rib and fried Shrimp, both were cooked to perfection! We will be back even though we are 2 hours away. We throughly enjoyed our dinner tonight!! It was well worth the 3 hour drive (one way) to eat here. We were graciously welcomed by Semmes. Our waitress was amazing!! Throughout our meal the staff made sure everything was to our liking. Wish we would have saved room for dessert but we ordered 2 to take home with us. We will return in the future and bring friends and family to enjoy this hidden gem as we did. Guys keep doing what you’re doing!! GREAT EXPERIENCE 💯

Friends and I enjoyed a fantastic dinner tonight!! Semmes greeted us outside, by chance, led us to the dining room, and was the perfect hostess. Our server was a proper gentleman, attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. When one item was a little too salty, Semmes made it right!! It was a lovely evening, and I hope to return. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is top notch. And the ambience is first class. I highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a unique atmosphere. The staff were all wonderful and served with pride and amiability. Even the owner and his family were actively serving their clientele. What a breath of fresh air. We love dining at The Rustler! We stumbled across Meridian's best kept secret years ago and we have been stopping in everytime we are traveling across on I-20 ever since. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a fine dining steakhouse from decades past, when people still "dressed" for dinner... as well as many of the items on the menu. The service is phenomenal as well. If you get the chance, take 5 minutes to drive off the beaten path and enjoy a great escape from crummy chain restaurants!

TEN STARS FOR EACH!!! The food was amazing!!!! We had sauted crab claws and they were out of this world! Our steaks were absolutely perfect and melt in your mouth delicious. First time ever going! The service was amazing! The wait staff was so sweet! The food was absolutely amazing! Their ranch was sooooo good!! Definitely need to get the stuffed potato! My boyfriend said they were the best mushrooms he has ever had! Highly recommend!!

I travel all over the country for my job doing disaster relief. This is by far my favorite restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere are exceptional and you won’t find better anywhere else. If I’m traveling through Meridian Mississippi I always make time to go here.

This place is amazing. The weight staff is super attentive but not hovering. Absolutely delicious food. One of the best cooked steaks I've ever had. The entire experience was a 10/10. Definitely will be going back.

Vacation is a time to relax and see the sites and enjoy new experiences of food. The Rustler hit all of that with excellence. What a hidden gem this place is. We drove an hour out of our way (Okaloosa Island FL to Bentonville AR) to try The Rustler.  We were greeted by amazing staff that made us feel like family. The atmosphere was very cozy with a romantic touch with black linen covered tables with candle lighting and fireplace view,  It brought back memories of the first time I fell in love with my wife. The hostess, Semmes, was amazing. Our waitress, Chloe, with her southern charm attended to our every need with a smile and brought a wonderful loaf of warm sourdough bread with its crisp edges and soft center with butter from heaven. The appetizer, fried sliced mushrooms with the homemade comeback sauce was fresh and hot and had me on the edge of my seat for the next course. The dinner salad with balsamic vinaigrette, crisp green lettuce, fresh cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumbers and green bell peppers and cheese and bacon crumbles and croutons with the perfect crunch. The main course was served with delight as the baked potato with its butter and sour cream could not hide the cooked to perfection prime rib. The steak was so tender, and the flavor within each bite was amazing. I opted for the sautéed mushrooms instead of the normal greens and was not disappointed as they were on another level and added to the whole experience. The only regret I have is not being able to try one of the desserts, but a meal fit for a king and queen has its limits. So another time, and yes, we will be back. I will save room for dessert.

We have been going to the Rustlers for a few years now. Each time we go, we are never dissatisfied. This place is superb! The owners daughter always remembers us, and she's always very accommodating. If you want great food and a pleasant atmosphere, don't pass this place up!

We drove 850 miles to have dinner at The Rustler as the reviews were fabulous. The food was outstanding, the drinks were spot on! I had the cowboy rib eye, Sherry had the lobster. Both of us could not finish our meal. We had it the next day and it was still so much food. Mushrooms were to die for, the loaded potatoes were outstanding. The bacon dressing on my salad almost made me ready to move in!!!! Our server was all over it and treated us well. We will return!

What a great genuine restaurant. Food was great, more impressed with the people. We drove from Madison to check it out. The owner actually came outside after our meal when we were leaving to thank us for the drive. Get the crab claws and banana pudding cheesecake.

The restaurant is top notch. Best food. Steak so tender and delicious. Homemade blue cheese dressing and plenty of it. I'll say I had blue cheese dressing with a little salad. Service is wonderful. As you walk in the door you can see on the right side of the wall the awards won. We love this place. Right by the fireplace, comfortable chairs that roll. No trying to scoot the chair up to the table. Looking forward to our next meal at the Rustler.

I was fortunate enough to have had a dining experience last night that was virtually flawless from start to finish. Everything was amazing and exceeded my already high expectations by leaps and bounds. I talk about food and post pictures of things that I eat frequently on social media, so my algorithms are inundated with cooking vids and restaurant suggestions, but @the_rustler_meridian stood out to me. Pictures of the chefs and servers presenting mouthwatering dishes on their Facebook page had me hooked. It looked almost too good to be real. I thought to myself that surely, they were just putting their best foot forward for the camera, and this couldn't be their standard. Listen... I was wrong. The meal started with freshly baked sour dough bread. Crusty on the outside and soft and chewey inside, served with butter. Next, we had the appetizers. I went with their famous blue crab claws. A low country delicacy that they serve both fried and sauteed. I had to get a half pound of each. The fried ones were perfectly fried golden brown with a delicious seasoned coating that was perfect and not overpowering or too bready.. The sauteed ones were also out of this world. Sitting in a cajun butter sauce that was good enough to eat with a spoon...(Or a piece of sourdough bread. Do this and thank me later). Next I had a house salad with house made ranch. Ranch is such a common salad dressing, but not everyone gets its right. Theirs was perfect. If they sold it in bottles, I would have bought one and put it on everything. Next we get to the main course. I ordered the 16 oz. ribeye. Now look, I try to stay away from making definitive statements like this in my restaurant reviews because they can come off as hyperbole, and not be taken as legitimately as intended, but this was certainly THE BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! This was a prime grade steak, cooked perfectly medium (which is a task that is easier said than done for even the most notable steakhouses). It was so tender and juicy with a char grilled flavor that can't be described any way other than "purely classic". The edges were succulent and crispy. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It was paired with sliced sauteed mushrooms, which were also a perfect compliment to the the steak, and a loaded baked potato with a perfect butter, to sour cream, to cheese, to bacon ratio. I also added a dab of that house ranch in it because it really was that good. Last we had, which is one of my favorite deserts ever. Bread pudding! This one was in my top 3 of all time. I had mine topped with white chocolate and Caramel sauce. It was so decadent. If I had to name one misstep of this entire meal, it would have been here at the dessert. I can't really even call this a misstep, but I feel that a review isn't credible if everything is a "perfect 10" across the board. This also is subjective to personal preference, but the bread pudding was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Vanilla is in fact my favorite flavor of ice cream, but if I had known it came with ice cream, I would have requested it be put on the side. Again, that's more of a personal preference thing really. The service was just as elite a the food. My waitress was named Sims, and she was so nice and accommodating. I had called the restaurant earlier in the week to see if they required reservations, and she was the person I spoke with. She remembered soaking with me, and addressed me by name the entire time I was there. There was also another server named Gray who was assisting and he was also super nice and even boxed up all of my take home food. I left with full full belly and really enjoyed the entire dining experience. If you are anywhere near Meridian Mississippi, even if you're not near and you're one to travel great distances just to eat, such as myself, make sure you make your way to The Rustler. You WILL be impressed, I'm sure of it.

Ordered a 8oz fillet cooked rare perfectly! Had mushrooms on the side they were great! The only thing was off was the broccoli was over cooked and mushy. Otherwise it’s my go to spot when I visit Meridian.

The Rustler is a great restaurant the food was really good the atmosphere classy but the staff was amazing top notch something you don't see these days. Jack our waiter professional, very polite took very good care of us. This is not a cheap restaurant but well worth it. This is a great date night restaurant we hope to be back very soon.

I liked the place. Nice clean friendly atmosphere. The fried crab claws were my favorite. Real meaty and excellent taste. I ordered the ribeye with the crab and mushrooms on top. I told them medium well with less pink as possible. It came medium rare. I heard another guest say he got one last time that wasn't cooked enough so I guess I should've got it well done. The baked potato and asparagus we great also. I also ordered an margarita. In all my ticket was $126. I've never spent that much at an steak house for 2 people. If I go back I'll just order a pound of crabclaws and a drink.

Somewhat hard to find if you are passing through. Locals find it easily. It is well worth the effort & don’t judge by the cover. A family owned restaurant for over 30 years. As you enter, Sims will greet you with a big smile & welcome you to a dining experience you will truly remember. Our foursome had different entries & all agreed they were prepared as ordered. You can be sure we will visit again soon.

We came out February 24, 2024, our first date of the year. Food was great, we got the crawfish tails, Ribeye medium cooked to perfection and Lobster tail, service was wonderful and atmosphere in the lounge was very romantic. Will recommend hands down!

My wife is from Meridian and we’ve been married for 24 years. We are in town this weekend and she finally took me to the Rustler with the family. All I will say is folks, don’t waste your time going to an overpriced big city steakhouse with a pretentious atmosphere. Just go to the Rustler if you want a great steak in a laid back atmosphere. The Rustler is an old school fabulous steakhouse. The service is incredible and the staff is super friendly. I’ve eaten many times at high end steakhouses and this place is right there with them in every respect. The steaks are superb but a couple of other highlights were the sautéed crab claws and the banana cream pie cheesecake. I love my wife but man, really disappointed she made me wait 24 years to eat at the Rustler. Haha. I’ll be back for sure.

Seems more like an overpriced TGIFridays. I got a better steak at Texas Roadhouse for less than half the price. There are 2 doors you can enter in, Neither one of them has a hostess or instructions of any kind about seating. I had to go to the bar to ask to be seated. Even then, I was still ignored for at least 5 minutes. The food was not impressive. Definitely overhyped.

We ate at The Rustler for the first time on Valentine’s Day and it was awesome! They were very busy, but the service and food were still top notch. We had the sautéed crab claws, the ridge filet, the ridge ribeye, broccoli, asparagus, and green beans and all of it was PHENOMENAL. We’ll definitely be back!

Found this place on Facebook. I had asked Brian what he was planning for my birthday. He said, "what about this place?" WOW, it was a 7 hour drive for us. It looked great on paper but in reality a lot of places fail the test when you get there. So I was hesitant! But what the heck, let's go! I chatted about reservations with the restaurant and to make sure they were open. They were "honored" we were driving 7 hours and coming just to have dinner there. We were treated like royalty when we got there. They are so humble and friendly. I can't say enough about the quality and taste of the food! We had ribeye and filet and could cut it we with a fork and the flavor was outstanding!!! Baked potatoes are huge. Mushrooms had a great flavor and the salad was excellent with homemade, wonderful, dressings!!! I got a strawberry piece of cake (like I've never tasted before) and happy birthday written in chocolate, JUST WOW!!!! AND NO THEY DIDNT PAY ME TO WRITE THIS! I have to give em a 10, they are just that good! Thank you all at for Rustlers for an exceptionally great birthday dinner and making worth the drive!!! Lee and Brian

Ate at The Rustler tonight & the food,starting with the crab claws & bacon wrapped scallops were so delicious. My filet was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Our server, Magic , gave us excellent service. All steaks are USDA certified Prime . I recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great meal with top - notch service. Enjoy

One of the best Ribeye steaks I have had in a long time! Crawfish tails were great and the Banana pudding cheesecake is not pictured because it didn't last long enough to take one🙂. If your in Meridian you have got to try the Rustler out you will be glad you did.

I’m always looking for places to dine and came across The Rustler in Meridian, MS. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the effort especially when you get to meet Semmes and Gracie. These two ladies took exceptional care of me, made sure I lacked for nothing, and made me feel very welcome. The menu decisions were tough but with Gracie’s help I decided on the Fried Crab Claws, the Petite Filet Hailey which included a salad, baked potato (I upgraded to a loaded one), and green beans. Gracie brought out the bread service and while it was warm and delicious, I only sampled due to what I had coming. The crab claws are delicious and addictive, BUT you must get some of the Comeback sauce for dipping…it is addictive and will push this over the top! A pound of these with a bucket of beer and a gallon of Comeback sauce would be awesome!!! Nice touch…the salad is delivered on a chilled plate, everything is crisp and fresh and the homemade Blue Cheese with crumbles on the salad “blue” me away. Out comes the 8oz Petite Filet with a mixture of shrimp and crabmeat in a seafood sauce sporting a bit of a Cajun kick. The steak…cooked as requested, very tender, and nicely crusted with black pepper. This was a very thick filet and as you can see perfectly cooked from top to bottom. Overall this meal and the incredible service would rival experiences I’ve had at high-end steakhouses.

Run, do not walk to The Rustler! One of the best meals with my family ever! Apps, salads, and steaks were absolutely delicious! And the Christmas cheesecake was amazing!! Most definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive!! Will be backs soon!!

The Rustler is truly a hidden gem in Meridian! We had their Prime Rib ($54) and Filet ($64), both were cooked to our requested temperatures and tasted great! But since they are charging more than Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, they should up their service and atmosphere to match those prices!

Unique place with great food and service. Both our streaks were done to perfection with generous portions of sides. Worth a stop if you find yourself in the area.

Went without a reservation, but being the holidays they were very busy. Within minutes they moved tables around and got us seated. Amazing service and great food. We will certainly be back!

My experience at the Rustler was awesome 👌🏾. The atmosphere was very homey and cozy, and the service was absolutely impeccable. Every single service staff member that I had contact with was extremely pleasant and helpful, and it felt like they were genuinely happy to serve. I was blown away at how they all worked together as a team to make every person they interacted with feel welcome! Shelby and Sims, my server/bartender were phenomenal. They were attentive, friendly and accommodating.There was also an older gentleman and older lady that made sure everything was going well. I really appreciated that! The service I received at this place was beyond my expectation, and I observed that everyone was being treated with the same level of service. My food, drinks and desert were all perfect! I ordered the 30oz Cowboy ribeye Med-well because I was concerned that the medium would be too rare, but it was perfectly med-well as requested. So, the steak temp was true to request, juicy, great quality and delicious. I also ordered the banana pudding cheesecake to take away and it was also amazing! If you are wondering if you should give this place a try, don't think twice. It's not cheap, but it's worth every dime. This was by far the best dine-in experience I've had in Mississippi since moving here a year ago.

Lucky #13 My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to an anniversary dinner at the Rustler. It's been on my "to do" list for a while and I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. Every moment was perfection. PERFECTION. We had the 1/2 lb fried crab claws to start and they did not disappoint. Our main was the Petite Filet and to say it was the most tender steak ever would be an understatement. I always get med/well and often that means not as tender. Not tonight. Not at The Rustler. Melted in my mouth. The only down side was after the fabulous crab legs and petite, I didn't get to finish the asparagus or baked potato because I had to save room for the CHEESECAKE. There were so many flavors to choose from and after seeing posts on social media, I had my heart set on the Christmas Tree flavor. Imagine my horror when our loveley hostess said ahe thought they may be out! Now imagine my squeal of delight to find a new delivery had just been made. Get this! Creamy, delicious and fabulous enough to make Little Debbie herself jealous. In 13 years of marriage and dinners out, hands down the most perfect meal and experience. We've started a new tradition! And the service was nothing short of exceptional!

Food was FANTASTIC and the Service was excellent, 5/5 stars ⭐️ Julie said the best Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing she has ever had😊 And steaks were so tender and NO need for steak sauce, melt in your mouth! The Hostess Sims was so sweet, can’t say enough about this place! And we got 2 “Geaux Tigers!” in the middle of nowhere Mississippi😉

My first time eating at the Rustler and it exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was perfect. Our waiter Jack answered our questions about menu options and the hostess was very nice and welcoming! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our wedding anniversary dining experience.

The absolute best wait staff. Above and beyond on the delicious food. I have to say, the best dinner experience I've had since the last time I had dinner here! My big brother is raving about y'all! Thank you, thank you. Keep doing what you're doing. God bless!

Wow! What a wonderful place. The staff, food and atmosphere was so amazing. If you are ever in the meridian area, I would highly recommend The Rustler. I live 3 hours away and would drive 3 hours just to be able to eat there again.

So, I must say out of all the restaurants I’ve been to around Meridian this is the one. Customer service is phenomenal best I’ve had in a long time. The food mouth watering, nvm the cost it’s worth it. Go! It’s different. I’ll definitely be going back!

We can't recommend this place enough! We ate here a few weeks ago while traveling through and almost stopped again coming back because it's that good! The food is phenomenal and the service was just as wonderful. If you're anywhere near Meridian, MS, make this a MUST DO!!

We found this restaurant searching on the internet as we were passing through Meridian TN. From the outside it wasn’t that fancy. We were greeted by the owner and staff outside. When they opened the door it was perfectly romantic for a dinner for two. The service was excellent! Our food was absolutely amazing!

The Rustler was absolutely an unexpected dining pleasure. It truly is a casual chop house with excellent food and a wonderful and friendly host and server staff. Our party ordered the surf and turf to split and Jack our server was very accommodating in tailoring our meal to our desires. The petite filet was juicy and tender with flavor. The grilled asparagus was superbly cooked and had the tender crunch. If you're wanting a casual yet elevated dining experience, look no further! The Rustler is the restaurant you will want to experience.

Place was awesome! Waiter named Gray was awesome and a young lady named Sims?? Or at least I think that was her name? Anyways they were great! The food was amazing!! Definitely 5stars!

Absolutely wonderful! From the staff, atmosphere to the food. One of, if not the best steak I've ever had. Fried green tomatoes are a must! Oh! And the bread pudding! So good!

The outside seemed dated but inside was good and the food was great! The filet was so big and tender. Don't go home without trying a cheesecake!
