Delicious homemade veggie burger!

Food is okay, nothing innovative, menu never changes. Same bagged chips with no dip on the side of every sandwich. At one time there was a strawberry, etc. for garnish, not anymore. The Sprout is not a vegan cafe anymore as it uses dairy. I was surprised there was an exorbitant up charge for plant milk in my coffee. In a vegan cafe…..My last meal there was sloppily thrown together, sandwich ingredients were not totally in the sandwich. The Sprout has turned into a non-vegan teenage hangout with food that is nothing like the food under the prior owner.

Got the veggie panini and it was so good! Great place for a lunch in Sanibel.

My husband and I stopped here on our way back home from the beach. It was absolutely great! We split a mango smoothie, coconut blt, Thai spring rolls, and berry croissant. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere is very inviting. We love the outdoor seating area and shopping options inside. My only critiques are the dipping sauce for the Thai spring roll taste almost entirely like soy sauce which I prefer the traditional sweet chili dipping sauce for spring rolls but that’s just my personal preference. I’d also suggest heating up baked goods in the oven for a bit before serving them to really do them justice. I brought mine home after taking a bite and put it in the oven at 350 for 10 minutes and it was absolute perfection. We will definitely be back. We love Sanibel and it is always lovely to see vegan options in Florida. 🌱

I love this place! The best smoothies and açai bowls on the island. The workers are so so friendly and really go the extra mile to accommodate all requests. I’m not even a vegan but I loved the food and they have so many options. Love getting my morning iced latte here!

Super friendly staff. I love the idea of getting to do a little shopping while waiting for your food/drinks. Menu is great, they have a lot of options. I enjoyed my bike ride ever morning to Sanibel Sprout. The cutest coffee place I’ve ever been too.

I love the smoothie/açaí bowls. The food isn’t a problem. It’s the 2-4 bratty workers who have the worst customer service, why? Because the attitudes, the laughs, and the over all entitlement. As someone who visits the island annually.. that attitude is not the friendly island way me or my family experience from other amazing workers. Maybe it’s time for a attitude check. It’s not a hangout. It’s a job. Nobody should feel judged like we did.

We went here first thing in the morning before heading to the beach and it was the perfect way to start the day. The Sproutaccino was absolutely delicious and reminded me of the Miami Mocha at Pura Vida. We also had the Thai Rolls which were very fresh and flavorful, the coconut bacon in them was sooooo good. The acai bowl that we order had a coconut base which we have never seen before but it was so fun and beachy that it definitely added to our beach day vibes!

I ordered the fruit bowl w açaí, granola, fruit and chia. It was delicious but the “fruit” included was 2 strawberries (at most) cut into 4 slices and 1/4 banana at most. The açaí was delicious but the fruit portion was way too small.

I’m a coffee lover and their cold brew is the best I can find in the area. Great vegan food as well that I’ve gotten multiple times, coming from someone who isn’t vegan and has always found it unattractive.

The bowls I had were absolutely amazing. I really recommend the pitaya one. Everything else was great as well!

I have been going here for many years and loved it but sadly I was not impressed when I recently visited. I knew there was new ownership and i was really excited to see the new cute cafe and support the young owner but the girls behind the counter were not friendly at all...I visited multiple times and this did not change...I felt very uncomfortable...the warm cozy vibe had disappeared and it felt like a teen hang out. Fine to grab your vegan food, not as many options but just order ahead and get everything to go if your over 25. I found another vegan friendly Cafe in the spot Sanibel Sprout used to be and it's waaaay more friendly and had great food! I was so excited to return to my favorite Sanibel vegan gem and left with a very different negative experience....ironically when sitting outside I overheard a girl the next table over complaining to her friends saying the same things I wrote in this review.

This cafe is quaint and adorably decorated. The juice makes me feel so good but is also delicious. They have a lot of gluten free options (thank you Sanibel Sprout). They also had essential oils and I was hoping to find a shop that sells them on the island since I forgot mine at home.

We visited the Sprout in January and February this year. The Acai bowls with the fresh fruit are the best!! Try it with the coconut base for a something different. We also tried the Avocado toast, the berry toast and 2 of the fresh juices and we loved it all!!! Their selection of coffee and lattes is pretty extensive and are delicious. Everything is prepared to order with the freshest ingredients. The outdoor seating area is really nice and such a relaxing environment! This is the place to go for a healthy delicious breakfast, lunch or snack!!!

I have loved this place for YEARS! My family comes every February and we stumbled across Sanibel Sprout a few years ago and it’s been my favorite place to eat since then. It’s great to go to a spot where you know everything on the menu will be healthy. Açaí bowls are incredible and you must order one!!! So glad this place exists!!! Ps: I do miss the sandwich with the cashew cheese that you all had maybe 4 years ago…. It was heavenly. If you ever bring old menu items back - my vote is that one!

I use to love eating here when I was in town the food was so good and had a great variety, So I Stopped in today while visiting the island and its under new management with almost no food on the menu. Such a bummer the options were avacado toast or soup. It’s a coffee / smoother bar now but their coffee wasn’t even good it was like gas station coffee. I’m not sure the new owners have figured out what their doing yet. Hope they get it together… and get some food on the menu.

So fresh and good for you, even walking in it smells like fresh fruit! This morning I ordered my usual Mermaid smoothie which is so refreshing as well as healthy, and a turmeric shot, but I also got an açaí bowls with berries and granola which is delicious. If you’re ready to ditch the usual pancakes and carbs, and get healthy, this is your new Sanibel go-to for healthy and delicious drinks and foods.

An absolute island staple! One of my favorite places to grab a drink and chill out on the beautiful patio. So many cool options you can’t get anywhere else on island! Some of my favorites are the oat milk latte, coconut smoothie bowl, and Thai spring rolls. Everything is made fresh to order so it does take longer than your typical grab and go but so worth the wait!!

I really enjoyed my cappuccino and breakfast bagel. Great and friendly service. Looking forward to going there for lunch, as they have some good sandwich options.

The Sanibel Sprout = *****10 STAR REVIEW***** My favorite thing on the menu is the locally famous Cauliflower / Leek soup- it’s truly the most delicious thing I’ve ever put in mouth - a tastebud explosion & it’s one of their many completely Vegan options at the Sanibel Spout, too. (You have to get this one when they have it because it’s a best-seller!) The Ginger-Carrot Zinger drink is also really delicious, although the Varanasi Sunrise Iced Latte always leaves an amazing aftertaste for hours after consumed… When I walk into this little corner cafè in the same plaza as The Clam Shack just before Bailey’s General Store on Periwinkle, - the smells are so pleasing to the nostrils and it’s all healthy selections, which is cool… I am also absolutely astonished at the level of care given; the service every time I’ve been is exceptional and I love that it’s a Christians based business! The Sanibel Sprout should be a staple destination for anyone traveling to & through SWFL, and definitely both on Sanibel Island & Captiva Island! Sincerely, Logan D. Lee

Wonderful! Was in Sanibel for the first time in 3 years and tripped over Sanibel Sprout’s new location and owner! Veggie burger was as good as I remembered, and cauliflower leek soup was absolutely delicious too! Seems like a family affair working together here, which is so nice to see. Keep up the great work and tasty, healthy vegan food! Thank you for the wonderful surprise when visiting Sanibel before Christmas. Such a treat!

Fast, friendly service and delicious, healthy food make for a most enjoyable establishment. The Sanibel Sprout has an atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while, sit outside, and enjoy yourself. Excellent local Mom & Pop with delicious vegetarian soups and sandwiches, friendly and attentive service. The coffee and teas are wonderful and the message is spot-on! I hope it opens back up soon.

The food was so good and fresh! Update: On my last two trips to Sanibel Island my boyfriend and I tried to stop in for lunch but unfortunately It was closed both times. It was disappointing but I will keep trying because the food was really good.

This is the healthiest place to eat on island, and perhaps the best vegan Cafe in the greater Ft myers area, and its team is happy and friendly.

We enjoyed our food, Japanese Brussels Sprouts and Coconut BLT were very good and the portions were large. The Brussels were lunch and then we split the leftovers the next day for a light lunch. We were looking forward to breakfast there the next day and they just didn't open up. Double checked the hours/days and well 🤷‍♂️.

We visited their old location on our last visit and this time the new location. I got a smoothie, acai bowl and a salad. All of the food was delicious, just like last time. Unfortunately the full menu was not available so I was a little disappointed some of the favorites I got last time I couldn't get again. I'm rooting for this place to be successful and hope to visit on the next trip.

My family loves visiting the Sanibel Sprout whenever we go to the island. The owner is courteous, the food is wonderful (I have to recommend the Grilled Veggie Panini and Thai Spring Rolls!), and the atmosphere is just what we needed.

I read about them in the newspaper a few weeks ago and this morning decided it was time to try it! I grabbed a few juices and they were AMAZING. Truly a hidden gem.

I think it's the only vegan restaurant on Sanibel Island. I had the "un-tuna" sandwich which was served on thick toast and had good flavor. Came with chips, a pickle spear and a strawberry. Good healthy food. Sandwich was $12 and change.

Love this place! We just moved to Sanibel and are so happy there are healthy places to eat like this. The portions are huge! My husband and I could have split the Mexican Salad as there was enough for at least 3 people. I also had a smoothie and it was delicious. Their menu fluctuates as the day goes on as they make things fresh and when they run out, they run out. Even if they run out of something, there are still lots of options. We got takeout here but you can dine in or on the cute patio.

Best smoothies on the island hands down. You can definitely taste that they use quality ingredients that aren't pumped full of junk. I'm definitely not a vegan, but I'll continue to stop here whenever I'm on the island and I reccomend you do as well!

The food is so good! Even if you aren't vegan you should go.

Really yummy smoothie called chocolate bliss and I added hemp seed-only issue was it was a little bit on the lumpy side maybe they need to blend it longer-paper straw was not working with the lumps. But service was quick and nice people working there.

Excellent healthy option here on Sanibel! I’m always so happy to see plant based restaurants open up. Even if you’re not vegan yourself, still a great open for something healthy. Awesome to support small local business too.

My friend and I were so excited to go to this place since everything on the menu is completely vegan!! I’ve been having troubles at other restaurants with workers not wanting to make accommodations for my meals but there was no issue here which was definitely refreshing. I got the Thai spring rolls and my friend got the nachos and we split them both! Very yummy, healthy, and fresh. Also got a cupcake (didn’t get a pic!) and it was delicious!

Love this place!! Its somewhere that I can feel free to order anything on the menu and know there isn't hidden meat or dairy products! Keep up the great yummy food!

Spoondrift Bowls is a great substitute with vegan options 4 doors down. First time I've eaten here. Outstanding flavors and combinations. I'm not a vegetarian, but this is some great food.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING is all I can say about this place! The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and a total vegan heaven! It was pure bliss not having to worry if there was anything on the menu I could eat since it is all 100% vegan! One thing to remember is that this is a small, locally owned establishment so they were out of some items when we went closer to closing, but this is to be expected when you support local businesses! They also have delicious juices and desserts, we went here every day during our time on Sanibel and each meal was wonderful! Highly recommend Sanibel Sprout if you are looking for delicious plant based meals on the island!

Best vegan / plant based restaurant on the island! Actually it’s the best tasting of any vegan restaurant we’ve ever ate! Loved their Rise & Shine sandwich. Waffles are unbelievably good (ate gluten free ones) and the Acai bowl was wonderful also. We ate there 4 times in 2 days!

Hands down the best food on Sanibel and the most delicious waffle I've ever had!! Let me preface this review by saying I am not a Vegan or Vegetarian. I want to help those like me, avoid the mistake of NOT going here bc it's a "vegan" restaurant. The food is so **BLEEPIN'** good. Owner and Chef, Nikki has "a way" with food I've never seen before. I've been to Sanibel twice (early Jan '19 & '20) for a total of 10 days. My mom raved about this place long before I ever went. Not being a vegan, I was skeptical. But, I am a chef and am willing to try anything. In those 10 days, I've been to Sanibel Sprout at least 7 times, not including meals I took to eat later. It's not just great vegan food. It's great food period! End of story. If you're not completely sold (or even if you are) please just go to Sanibel Sprout and order the waffle. It's hands down the best one I've ever had, gluten free or not. I begged her to tell me what's in it... and she did! But it's clearly such a precise ratio of different flours plus her love for what she does that I could try a thousand times and not come close. As a "starter drink" try the Sproutachino. If you dont like these... you should go to a doctor and find out how to regain your sense of taste : ) Keep up the GREAT work Nikki! I cant wait to come back to Sanibel and switch off between eating at the 'Sprout' and hangin' on the beach. Rinse. Repeat. Livin the dream!

Hier war ich bei meinem Urlaub in Sanibel. Würde ich jederzeit gerne wieder besuchen. War sehr gut.

Food was very tasty and beautiful, however the whole experience was unfortunately dampered by an hour and a half wait (yes 90 minutes for a couple drinks and three entrees) for our food. Many other customers began to ask about the wait in addition to us. At one point, new customers were told that the restaurant was stopping all new food orders to catch up on the ones already in the queue, so many just started walking away. Store definitely needs to be staffed better to accommodate the holiday rush of tourists. Would have been five stars with a more reasonable wait!

We really liked the açaí bowl and the veggie sandwich was great as well. They closed down the restaurant right after we arrived because it was “getting too busy” but there were still empty tables inside the already small restaurant. So be prepared for unpredictable opening hours.

This tiny little place offers up delicious vegan food. We would’ve ordered pretty much everything on the menu if we could’ve eaten it all. Very happy to find a place that offers this caliber of vegan food while traveling. Everyone was polite, the atmosphere was lovely, and they were busy- always a good sign. Go here, even if you aren’t vegan!

Very delicious dishes! It's hard to find vegan food options in this area. Staff was very friendly. Comfortable atmosphere. They took a lot of time and hard work on our dishes as you can see from the photos. We ordered avocado toast, spring rolls, and Mexican salad. Will be returning next trip to Sanibel.

I had the nachos and my husband had the burger and they were both amazing! Food was out in 10 minutes, much quicker than expected for a vegan restaurant. Drove 1.5 hours to enjoy the island and eat here and it was well worth it, I thought pricing was very good for an organic vegan restaurant as well! Definitely coming back here ASAP!
