Came here for date night with my wife and had an incredible time! Ryan was our server and he did a great job. He gave us awesome recommendations, and we both got a ribeye that was cooked perfectly. House steak sauce and the brussel sprouts also tasted great. Cocktails were outstanding, I had a Goodnight Manhattan and my wife got a Chocolate Martini. Only thing that suprised me was the restaurant itself is much smaller than I expected. Not a bad thing, as it makes for a very intimate atmosphere, but I'd recommend making a reservation to be safe. Overall had a great time and we'll be back for sure!

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! My lady and I went looking for a nice meal and we found it. The service provided by our server Ryan was spectacular, even on a busy night. All around a fantastic place that I would recommend!

The taste of the steak was excellent. The string beans weren't cooked as much as I would like. I ordered a 20 oz steak and it appears they brought me half of a steak because it look like 10 oz to me. The staff was amazing and the Ambiance was very good. The food is very expensive and so are the drinks. Overall I had a good experience but I don't think I'll return. I ended up spending close to $400 and for that kind of money I'd rather go to Ruth Chris

Great service, and hands down one of the best Filet Mignons I’ve had, and their house steak sauce is to die for. And you HAVE to try their blueberry cheesecake. Hard to beat.

Extremely disappointed. The quality of food is much better at Texas Roadhouse at a fraction of the cost!

Unfortunately each dish was so salty I was done tasting each dish early. I love salt! Every dish, my daughter and I shared the French onion soup, Greek salad, tenderloin, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Our waiter was very kind, attentive, and thorough; soft and simple ambience great for conversation.

It was my nieces 34th birthday. Our party had 15 people in it Abraham did a outstanding job with us. Although some individuals were being extra he handled professionally.

I went here for a birthday party and when my wifes food came out it smelled funny,got it home and she threw up and pork chop was rank or spoiled,never going here again , price doesn't make a place great i spent a 172 dollars so disappointed.

The manager Anthony was extremely helpful to me. I had lost a gift card and he went above and beyond and was able resolve the issue promptly.

The steak cuts were bad, and the cooking was horrible. I ordered mine medium and it was rare. I asked for it to be cooked longer and it was brought back warmed up and not cooked additionally. Our food was below average at best.

High end steak house. 80 bucks for a tenderloin good but it for the price House steak sauce great. 6 dollar garlic mashed potatoes best prt of meal. Service was good, but not top. Steak on a plate no flair. Grandson, son, patriarch. 400 dollars.

Our waiter Ryan was great. He provided excellent service and was very concerned about our experience. Chef Shelby did an excellent job preparing our steaks and presentation was beautiful.

Steak was good but expensive. The scalps were the best I've ever had.

Tomahawk, ordered rare, was perfect. The filet was ordered medium rare, but was cooked medium well, so it was not very enjoyable. The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. The baked potato was perfect. The Brussel sprouts were wonderfully caramelized, the best I've ever eaten.

First time visiting, everything from drinks to dinner were delicious. Service was outstanding!

Blud its too fancy like just get me some Burger King and the atmosphere was horrible so ya horrible place 2 star I’m just kidding it was all perfect just for the food you need some Bulgarian on the menu so you can spice it up a bit

The Ribeye steak was incredible

Not owned by the original people. It use to be a famous gem, food was excellent and the banana flemba was to die for. The cooks and service have really changed.

Underwhelming food and service. The bar is very tiny and outdated. Drinks were just okay. Not the steakhouse experience we had hoped for, though the restaurant is located in a very neat historic building.

For $70 a steak it should be perfect. NOT!! I ordered med well and it was very well done. My friend ordered med rare and it was medium. Too many better places for Steak! Will not go back. Don't waste your money.

Dined here 1 year ago and the experience was truly incredible! My husband and I would have gone again but had to leave earlier than they open. Hope to make another trip to St. Louis soon to visit this gem.

I don't understand the negative reviews about this place. It's a steak house. The service is amazing and cocktails are some of the best in towns. Their house sauce is one of those things people will either love or hate.

My wife and I ate here on a Thursday night, and it was an excellent choice. We both loved the ambiance. Our server was Ryan, and he was fantastic. There was also a busboy/asst server that deserves credit, but we didn't get his name. Between the two of them, we never had to wait for anything. It was easily the best service I've received in STL*. We started off with the beef carpaccio which was amazing, would absolutely recommend. We shared a ribeye which was excellent but fell just shy of being at that level where when you take a bite, you sit back, close your eyes, and just surrender to the flavor. While the steak didn't quite get there, the tenderloin room shrooms absolutely did. Easily my favorite thing we had. The twice baked garlic potatoes were fantastic but didn't have as much garlic as I thought they would. Finally, the creamy spinach was good, but everything else we had was better. We also got a regular (not the smoked) old fashion, glory ruth, and irish crush. All of the drinks were delicious and on point. *The one negative I have is that if you want to take anything home, you need to proactively tell them. They didn't ask us if we wanted to take home anything, and we had a decent amount of food left. The service was so impeccable up to that point that when they took our plates without asking, we thought they knew to box it up. That aside, we would and absolutely will come back again... we'll just be sure to not make that assumption again.

I attended a birthday dinner last night and was highly disappointed for the second time regarding dining at this establishment. The hostess with a sling on her arm wasn't very friendly but mostly glared at our table the entire night. The server micheal disposition expressed irritation,frustration,showed no interest in serving our table. Micheal made us feel unwanted, like we didn't belong at this establishment but yet I watched him with being overly friendly with the other tables that wasn't the same race as us. I've dined with this establishment twice and on both occasions the vibes were weird and the worker's made us feel as if we were not welcomed. This needs to be addressed as this establishment is beyond too expensive in pricing to treat certain people in an unprofessional way.

Went yesterday for my birthday had a reservation got there and it was the worst experience I ever had racial profiling is so bad here the watched us like why y’all here the server he was so rude didn’t want to wait on us the host was rude.. the server snatched the menu out my hand he was so angry for no reason I’m in the industry and I will never recommend this place to anyone made me uncomfortable on my birthday

A Steakhouse that still hits it with taste, service and atmosphere!

The bread and honey butter is amazing!! God was delicious, very hot, and service is amazing. I Recommend this place!

The Tenderloin Room is one of our favorite restaurants. Every visit here is memorable, enjoyable, and worth the visit. If you have bad service here, then I don’t believe you. The staff are friendly, personable, and they treat us like friends versus customers. If you’re a bourbon person, try a smoked old fashioned. Simply put, we love the TR, and writing this review makes me want to go right now.

Went for a private room party and was very impressed with the resturant be willing to offer a vegetarian option.

Always one of my favorite places to go have a wonderful dinner.

Best meal I've ever had! I had the scallops with mushrooms for a side, my husband had the peppered tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes. The Havana Affair cocktail was unique and delicious. The atmosphere has a classy, '40s style feel, with music to match. (There was a black and white photo of cows next to our table, which felt wrong :) ) However, the prices were extremely high. This is definitely only a very special occasion place, expect to pay a Lot.

Best Old fashioned I've ever had..

You know this is not a good steakhouse when (1) the best dish is the free bread (2) they serve the steak with “secret sauce”. Come on, this is not barbecue, we pay $100 for a good steak! Not for that random heavy sauce! And (3) they don’t even know what medium is. The steaks are overcooked and we have to ask for a replacement. In general, not a great steakhouse.

If you like to splurge on a meal, look no further than the Tenderloin Room. The food and service are fantastic! White linen tableclothes, attentive staff, and mouth melting steak! We had steak, which was divine. The server offered up ample advice on drinks and pairings with food items. Now, the only negative I had this trip was we were wedged in a 2 top table betwwen a large group, and another 2 top group. Plenty of room to eat, but we were in everyone elses conversations. Just a tad snug...not too bad, since we had pleasant conversations with neighboring folks...but just a tad too close. Be forwarned, you are dropping $$$$ to be pampered. This isnt Texas Roadhouse...dress up a bit! Enjoy the atmosphere of the locale!

Get the Greek salad! It’s such an excellent salad I would go just for that! After you eat that salad, you’ll find the atmosphere is so luxurious and welcoming. The whole menu is excellent and the wine list is ample. Our server Beau was attentive and fun.

Top 3 restaurants in the city, incredible food, top notch customer service!

The whole experience was great. Was stuck in heavy traffic and the staff held my reservation for me. The setting was top notch and so was the delicious food, as well as the drinks. Our server Bo had a great personality and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for a romantic night out. We’re definitely coming back.

Great food, great staff, great ambience! What’s not to love?!

First time to this beautiful gem was for my birthday dinner and unfortunately it was a bit underwhelming. With the exception of the ambiance and the fantastic waiter Ryan and accompanying server; Did not feel welcomed or even that the lukewarm and sarcastic hostess wanted to be there. It was a bit embarrassing and rude when a big deal was made about parking validation by hostess and other staff (I assume it was the manager?). I’ll give grace that maybe it was an off night in a stressful environment. Upside is although the crab cakes and cold salmon were mediocre, the twice baked garlic mashed potatoes were superb! Future practices would be to quickly inquire about validation needs and highlight validation procedures upon arrival (especially for first timers). Quick, easy and out of the way at the outset. Also a good idea to actually walk patrons to their table rather than pointing it out from across the large dining room. Expensive, but intimate and elegant. It can be delightful with some elevated tweaks. Probably won’t return, though I simply adore the Chase Park Plaza and in house cinema and shop.

Just an average steak at premium price ....there are lots of better steak restaurant options in St. Louis

Divine! The best steak I've ever had!

Food was average, nothing that is out of the ordinary. My wife and I took my Grandma, parents and our two kids to Ruth’s Chris in Chesterfield on Wednesday and the bill was roughly double what I paid for just me and my wife tonight. Also worth noting, at Ruth’s Chris we ordered two bottles of wine at $180/each. Ruth’s Chris also brought us desert on the house, for no reason other than just good service I guess. We are happy to pay for good food and drinks but $94 for 2 Angels Envy old fashioneds? I thought it was a mistake. It wasn’t. I’ve paid less for Pappy. My wife’s filet was good sized but my bone in ribeye was very small. Cooked appropriately. No complaints on the preparation but my ribeye was smaller than steaks I’ve ordered for half the price elsewhere. The bean soup which they tout as a menu item since 1962 tasted like nothing. Nice atmosphere. But stupidly overpriced and under executed. We won’t be back.

Excellent food, excellent service, strong cocktails. An old style classic dining spot. A pretty short menu: if you don't like streaks or seafood, this is probably not the place for you.

If you need a special place for a special occasion

Had my birthday dinner here with about 14 people and Mike was very helpful with arranging that for me. The food was delicious. The service was great.

I think it’s a 5 stars place for sure. There are some caveats to that, the place is expensive and we went with a person who is vegan and there was really no much for them (probably vegetarians have more options but still can’t imagine it would be worth the price). My experience was really great, well paced, cocktails on point (Martini and smoked old fashioned), seafood cart was great, my steak was delicious and the 2 sides, mushrooms and mash potatoes were super good. Also tried the salmon and super tasty too.

Avoid unless you like a mouse running under your feet the whole dinner. We notified the waiter, the waiter saw the mouse, and the restaurant did nothing. Guess that's just a normal Saturday night! Who wants to pay $220 for a dinner for two with mouse droppings?

I know some of the reviews might scare some people, but this place is great. I’ve been living in St Louis for 11 years and we decided to come here on a date night. The food, the service, the wine, everything was amazing. Our sever Bo was incredible and we will come back.

This place was recommended by a cookbook I have. Did not disappoint, The NY strip steak was cooked at a perfect medium, flavourful, The cream spinach and the twice baked mashed potatoes wher phenomenal. I give it 4 stars because the price was a little high but well worth it for a date night

This place is absolutely amazing. With a mixture of modern and classic dining it’s a great spot for a special date. The FOH staff is excellent at customer care and special shout outs to Chef Shelby and Stephen for the incredible food!!!

Possibly the most expensive steak in America! If I could choose no stars, I would consider it. We had a very disappointing experience with their service and management this past summer. The menu stated their filet as “market price,” but it was not listed anywhere in the restaurant or disclosed at the time of ordering. Based on other items on the menus and past experience at other classy steakhouses, we made the unfortunate assumption that a market price 10-12 oz filet would be somewhere around $50-$60. There were four of us dining, we all ordered filets and we only had a couple drinks. They were out of the sides we wanted, so we were comped French fries and mushrooms. We received the bill and it was over $600! We were shocked and paid it at the time, out of respect for our guests and the server who was already struggling and figured we would go back in the morning to straighten things out. We went back the next day and met the manager, who shall remain unnamed out of respect for them as an individual, since I don’t personally know them. We asked how much market price filets were and were informed us that they were $110 each 😧. Again, shocked! The manager stated that they were busy and that we could call or email them directly at a later date to see if there was anything he could do. I have eaten at many 5+ star steakhouses across the country and have never in my life paid that much for an okay steak that wasn’t even presented well (literally just the steak on a plate, no garnish, no side, nada). I did some research on surrounding high end steakhouses in St Louis and those filets were not even close to this price. The market prices according to the USDA data for prime wasn’t even in this ballpark either. We emailed the manager shortly afterwards, expressing our dissatisfaction with the price and concerned that they were not operating in good faith by not disclosing that cost or providing it anywhere. We never heard back, further disappointed once again by this now ongoing experience.. Buyer beware, make sure you ask what market price is for an okay steak at this place. Will not be recommending The Tenderloin Room and at least it makes for an interesting story for us and we have an inside joke about what “market price” means, if nothing else. I looked at their menu online today and they do in fact have their prices listed now, four months later, so maybe this wasn’t the first time patrons were unhappy this summer.

I was saying at the hotel with this restaurant inside it. I went down for a cocktail and had a great time. Lou was my bartender and she was fantastic. She made a great Manhattan and gave great insight into the city. I really enjoyed the ambience and I loved their playlist of jazz standards. It was a great time!

Came to the Tenderloin Room for the first time to celebrate my birthday and even though we spent over $230, I was severely underwhelmed. The calamari special and chicken were well done but everything else was poorly cooked or unseasoned. My significant other ordered the $70 ribeye and couldn't have been more disappointed. His exact words were, " I've had better at Applebee's." The waiter and smoked old fashioned were the best part of the entire experience. We will definitely not be back.

The ambiance carries this place. They are doing the same food that any steakhouse does. Without the ambiance this would not be fine dining. Sorry bout it.

The ambiance is great valet your parking all that was great. The waiter was super nice and knowledgeable but the food was not good. Spent about $200 that night but was not worth it. I will probably never eat here again.

Here's the 1-10 scale. Lobster 8, twice baker potatoes ( presented in a bowl) 5, bread 5, creamed Spinach 5. Value 3. I'm sure there are much better Steakhouses to go to.

We were suggested this place and in case you didn't know it's in a large, but clean hotel. Staff were nice. They took our sauce off our bill because neither of us cared for it. The mash potatos were divine but the steak was underwhelming for nearly $70 a steak. Sorry, not going back.

1st time here went for a corporate celebration dinner. The bar tender was really nice and hard-working. I got the steak filet minion and lobster entrées and they were both very good the size and tenderness of the steak was perfect. The sides were delightful the Vice President of our company ordered 2 of everything and my favorite were the mashed potatoes, mushrooms and the fries! Valet parking was complimentary and the ambience of the restaurant and decor was nice.

Very disappointing experience - been several years since our last visit & thought it would be the perfect place to take our daughter for her 30th birthday. Unfortunately, it's not the same Tenderloin Room. The shrimp cocktail consisted of 5 small shrimp tossed on what looked like a plastic tupperware plate. Not worth their prices.

A fabulous dining experience. The service, the food, truly a fine dining experience. I suspect this review is repetitive from others experience. Definitely get reservations in advance. It will be a treat for those with you.

They must be finding their groove again after reopening. Easy valet parking (restaurant validates). The restaurant is in a luxury hotel, and the hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas. The restaurant itself is classic. Vintage ambiance, this is a special location and venue. Reservation honored on time and we were promptly greeted. Service was impeccable (thanks Anthony). Good menu. Great steaks. My wife and I each had a filet. Nice sides. Everything was delicious. Wine list a bit limited, but adequate. They are overpriced, even by luxury restaurant standards - but we went there to celebrate a very special occasion.

High class and good food, don't forget to tip the valet.
