I can not gloat about this place enough all aspects of the restaurant are amazing people food and atmosphere 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 the black and blue burger is so good it made my eyes water again can not gloat enough

The lumpia is AMAZING. The menu had a lot of options, but to our dismay, we didn’t see the specials board until after we ordered. The specials for that day looked amazing and actually better than the regular menu options. My husband’s bbq sandwich was super greasy, and the server gave us the wrong tea at first, so that wasn’t great. The hush puppies were super yummy though!

Literally the worst brisket ive ever had and on top of that my sides were room temperature

Went in ordered 2 BBQ plates. Got order went home and discovered they had messed up order. Not happy customer.

Thig’s is so amazing! We had a massive disc golf tournament hosted by OFDA at North East Creek Park (30 minutes from the restaurant) in Jacksonville with 100 players. Not only did Thig’s accommodate for this massive tournament but the food was incredible! Amy was so amazing as she had fantastic communication, great prices and timely delivery! You cannot go wrong with going there to eat in restaurant but also using them to cater any event! Also the Brunswick Stew is fantastic!

Last visited in 2012, but it left such a memory that I will be returning this fall.

Surprised my wife for dinner Friday night. She had been craving ribs from Thig’s for a long while, so while out in the area, I swung by and ordered two rib platters with Cole slaw, beans and Mac and cheese 🧀 great job Danny. It was worth the wait and we won’t wait as long next time

Flew in to visit my son for the week. We stopped here leaving the airport which is about 2-3 miles from the airport (OAJ). Very clean and the staff were so friendly. They brought out a little basket of amazing fried cornbread! I had the hamburger steak and he had fried chicken. We definitely enjoyed our meal even though we didn’t get actual BBQ 😁

Oh how this was a DELIGHTFUL experience. The food is SUPERIOR. I recommend asking to have Urijah Cash Orr as your waitress. I would 100% recommend.

Great bbq place. Ribs were excellent. They have some interesting sides to go with the bbq including okra and squash. I know okra is not that uncommon. Both were deep fried. Both were good. Pulled pork was ok. Not sure I like caroilina style but willing to try again. Restaurant was very nice, clean and pleasant to be in. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Will definitely hit this place up again.

Little ol' BBQ house with a southern feel to it. All of the staff are exceptional and friendly. I'd recommend coming during breakfast at least once. They've got great prices. The BBQ is Caroline style so take that into account before you bite into the vinegar based sauce. :)

Today Penelope greeted me at the front door as I entered the all new Thig's BBQ. This is truly a phoenix that has risen from the ashes.... Most sequels are never as good as the first. However... Amy and her family and crew have knocked it out of the park.... The new restaurant maintains much of the charm of the original... many of the same great menu items... and even some of the original crew.... and it's beautiful!! Being a master chef, I am and always have been pretty picky about the food I eat. Tonight I had the very best smothered chicken I have had in my life.... Their three cheese macaroni and cheddar is to die for... and the Italian Green beans just right. Portions are good sized, prices extremely reasonable for the quality... and the service off the charts good. The new location is handicap accessible... and... To top it off... they even have a great little culinary gift shop also. Two things I have missed since moving back to Hubert from Southwest were a little church I used to visit and Thigs. When they had that devastating fire a few years ago it was like losing an old friend. It is so exciting to have them back.... and as good as ever, and maybe... just a bit better. The restaurant is located at 1722 Catherine Lake Rd, Jacksonville, in the same footprint of the original.... As I said.... the new restaurant is AWESOME!! JM

To the owner. My check was $32.75. I said $9 for food I COULDN’T eat. I had 2 toddlers with me and they aren’t going to sit long enough to get something else. The collards and cabbage were not chopped at all. I probably could have eaten them if they were. And I love Brunswick stew. If it didn’t have spoiled tomatoes, I wouldn’t have said it did. Maybe they left it sitting out after cooking it. I don’t know, but after 60 years, I know spoiled food when I taste it. I had to ask for ketchup as well so technically she did bring ketchup. With fries, I shouldn’t have had to ask. My review was based solely on facts. Not a second person account that someone told me. Stopped by late this afternoon around 430 with 2 toddlers. First thing I noticed was she only left 2 forks, for 3 people. I didn’t mention it. The oldest one wanted cake before her meal and she picked out a piece but I knew she wouldn’t eat it. I selected a second dessert of yellow cake with chocolate icing. The cake was old, the icing had separated from it and I was unable to even get it to spread or stick properly. To top it off, I took a bite of collards and it wasn’t collards, it was pieces of cabbage. I didn’t know they mixed them. I took a bite of the Brunswick stew and the tomatoes in it were spoiled. I immediately spit it back in the bowl. I ordered fried pork chops. I only ate one and by the time I got home, I had to rush inside to throw up. The macaroni and cheese as well as the fries were good. I left the uneaten food on the table after mentioning to the server about what was wrong with the collards and the stew. I guess she didn’t think it was important enough to take them off my check so I didn’t think it was important to remember her tip. It cost me over $9 for food I couldn’t eat and she would have received a $10 tip. For the first time in my life I didn’t leave a respectable tip. Two toddlers can make a huge mess and today was no exception. And next time, serve ketchup when you serve fries as well as a knife for pork chops. I won’t be going back.

A great and delicious meal! This is a local joint that is hopping and staff is very kind and attentive. The restaurant is clean and well kept and you can tell that this is a family owned business that cares about its customers and quality.

Long established eatery. They rebuilt last year after a fire, and it's very modern and clean looking inside now. Service was good, and as long as you like Eastern style BBQ, you're not going to be disappointed! My only comment is that their hushpuppies are round and it's hard to dip them in the little butter tubs they give you. They are tasty though!

The restaurant has been opened for a while Stopped by to pick up a plate of delicious juicy fried chicken. Food truck is available Wednesday-Saturday during school week from 1100-1900. Make sure to call ahead to confirm times. Restaurant should hopefully be reopened before September. Food took 20 minutes because it’s prepared fresh. Only dislike; I only got 3 hush puppies the 2nd time around😣

Friendly quick service, clean spacious atmosphere, tasty fulfilling food!

Since we’ve moved here a year ago Thigs has been my family’s first go to choice for food. The people who work there have been kind, helpful, and welcoming. The food has always been great and I can’t think of anything we haven’t liked. They have a regular menu and specials that they put on a board. Family friendly and very clean.

Just wanted to let you know. We were there with our granddaughter and her husband today, on their recommendation and didn't want to be ungracious. My wife and I had the smoked ribs. They were maybe room temperature, nowhere near food safe temp, not very tasty and tough.

The best brisket and hog wine I've ever tasted. Great food, awesome service, great atmosphere. Love this place.

We ordered from this restaurant last years for Mother’s Day..it was great.. we ordered again after that.. sides were wonderful.. Brisket was tough as leather.. today we decided to try once again.. Sides were great and brisket was so tough it couldn’t be cut with a steak knife … so finally we called to tell them.. it’s not a cheap dinner, but we expect it to be edible and decent.. so this evening I called the restaurant to let them know.. the nice person who waited on my husband.. and these orders were all to go… we didn’t eat at the restaurant.. we literally live 7 min away .. so real quick getting it home and eating.. I guess a manger or owner called my husband and said we could bring the plate back in, I guess for them to inspect and make sure we weren’t lying that it was tough as leather.. and he said, No.. obviously who would drive back there again.. And we NEVER call and complain, , we just figured it was a bad day.. but, it’s been 3 times.. So they have received our last business! Terrible customer service.. really, who would lie about their brisket being tough as leather???

The food is fantastic when dining in . They also catered my youngest son's wedding reception . Mind you that Thing's BBQ House is 23 miles from where the wedding reception was being held. They were on time and the BBQ - Hushpuppys and Chicken were all pipping hot. NO CHEAP PEACE'S OF CHICKEN EITHER !!! HUGE THIGHS ; DRUMSTICKS AND BIG MEATY BREAST'S. (no pun intended). Gallons and gallons of tea, plates and utensils. This was the best catered food food I've had in a very very long time. All of this and more; FOR A VERY MODEST PRICE !!! Great Staff and Atmosphere. Prices in reasonable range. Brisket had a nice bark but no discernible smoke ring. On surface looked moist however found it to be dry upon cutting into it. Beens were tasty and the hush puppies were an unexpected treat. The ketchup based barbecue sauce was weak to say the least. Big plus that it didn’t have any vinegar in it.

I ordered the take out combo family pack. All the food was delicious! I placed my order online and then went to pick it up. While waiting I was asked by not one but *three* employees whether I'd been helped yet. They were all so nice! This was my first time in the restaurant since they reopened. The building looks great! They did a great job.

This was the 1st I have there since they reopened and I was not disappointed. The guy who was at the registered have a great attitude makes you feel right at home. I didn't dine in but from what I can tell everyone had good things to say while the was checking out.

Order delivery from them and they consistently forget the sauces, and sides, it's as if they ignore that part of the order.. probably not going to order from them again. Never been in the place so can't speak to that, but the delivery leaves a lot to be desired.

I usually love Thigs but I got the liver and onions and the liver was charred. Tough and very hard to cut. Also, my family and I spent over $100 on the meal and the food on the plates were spilled and mixed together. Completely sloppy and a mess. Disappointed.

So far in 2 years of living in Eastern NC this might be the best NC BBQ yet! The Banana pudding is amazing!

Out of the ashes rose the most wonderful and tasty restaurant in the area. Well worth the drive to find it. Beautiful with wonderful wait staff. Beef brisket and pulled pork were our goto. 10/10. Sides- fried okra, cucumber salad, coleslaw. Don't miss out on these.

Live down the road for them for the past five years . Went for my first time last month and the food was absolutely amazing.

Food was not good chicken pastry cold got it reheated still was cold . Salisbury steak was not good like I expected didn’t even have rice the collards was good tho only part I did enjoy and they ice is good.

They had lumpia and smoked brisket on special. We got both and we’re very pleased! Their sweet chili sauce was so delicious. My kids devoured the catfish, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Make sure you get the sweet potato casserole side, if they have it. It is the perfect dessert! The coleslaw is sweet and chopped thin, just like I love it! Also loved that they brought hush puppies out right away after we sat down. We will be back.

This was my last attempt. The burger was tiny , the bun was about 3 times bigger, the bacon was undercooked. The fried green tomatoes were soggy and didn’t taste like anything. I rarely order out but I’ve been struggling lately dealing with the VA so I decided to treat myself. This was probably my 8th time ordered over the past few years. Maybe I’m ordering the wrong things. Idk it was just a waste of money. I should have cooked at home. The employees are always nice but the quality of the food matters more to me.

Tonight my wife and I simply didn't feel like cooking. Since both of us had eaten at Thig's before this restaurant before its renovation due to a fire, and it was close to home we decided to eat there. We both had to get boxes due to the amount of food on our trays was alot more than we ate. I had flounder which was great. My wife had chicken nuggets which were very good. Odds are good we will probably eat there again. It was a worthwhile visit without any detrimental remarks necessary.

This is our third try here. First time was great. Food & portions were great. Second time, we got the "chopped" pork, but it was just shredded, so that's misleading & really unfortunate. This last time the portion sizes changed significantly since August. You only get a handful of fried shrooms. The brisket was barely any meat, mostly fat, & the mashed potatoes are basically liquid. I'm sad about it, but we won't be back.

Loved Thigs! We visited in 2019 and everything was great. Was very sad to hear about the fire then excited for y'all about the rebuild. We are moving to Nc from Ca mid November and are looking forward to visiting your establishment on a regular basis.

I had delicious fish. It was fried lightly with just the right amount of seasoning. I got 3 large pieces and could not finish the third piece! The slaw, French fries, and tea hit the spot. I did not have any after-taste (grease) from the fish. I recommend Thigs for good food and service. Their new establishment is beautiful!

Thigs is our go to when we come back to Jacksonville, no matter how long we have been gone for it is nice to have thigs there and they never disappoint with the service and or food.

Great food, super clean restaurant, friendly staff. Got my lunch order quickly. My only issue is that I have a shellfish allergy (I won't die, but my digestive tract will make me wish I had). The fries are cooked in the same oil as the shrimp, which is enough to do me in. Just something to be aware of if you have similar problems, and not totally unexpected when dining near the coast. My server was quick to point out other sides that I could have that would be safe. I wound up getting a double order of Mac-n-cheese which was delicious, as were the ribs. The bbq sauce was some of the best I've ever had and had a unique flavor I could not quite identify. It was vinegar based with a sweet flavor, just a touch of a heat and some other indescribable quality (some may say it's love, but I prefer to believe it to be the taste of pure envy of every pitmaster in a 30 mile radius). I was not able to try the hush puppies due to the shellfish problem, but they looked delicious.

The pulled pork sandwich was good. The mashed potatoes were a mix and too salty. The cheesecake was fantastic. The highlight was my server Megan what a wonderful woman.

Used to be a warm, inviting , old school Carolina place to eat. Now it is more "modern and sterile " and the semi circular wooden wall booths are nothing less than torture to sit at. Food was mediocre at best. Not as good as before their rebuild. Staff was nice.

The food was good but not what I expected from what others had said. We were greeted immediately. Questions were answered and the host was pleasant. The place was very clean, even the bathroom. What I did not like on the ticket was tipping suggestions that started at 20 percent.

Now I understand this restaurant's history. That being said. Inside is a little lackluster. There were a lot of flies landing on my food, and hair in the hush puppies. I came here with my husband for an open interview, and the service was the best thing about being here. I actually threw up everything I ate in the car on the way home, and then contracted food poisoning... Which is a bummer because when I moved here in 2019, this was one of the places that my husband wanted to take me. I might give it a shot again, but I'm iffy right now.

Was very happy to see this place re-open and was a weekly patron until recently. The last several weeks the quality of food has decreased and our orders have been wrong several times. To top our off, we recently called to complain about our chicken tasting like fish and were informed they use the same oil to fry chicken, shrimp, fish everything. And that restaurants don't change their oil daily. That may be true, but NO ONE uses the same oil to fry fish and other foods items.

Finally went to Thigs for the first time around 2 on a weekend. Considering the usually high traffic I see here I wanted to take a little time to enjoy what Thigs has to offer. Parking lot is clean, the inside foyer reveals a clean, sterile restaurant area. There is a limited seating area, 3 half circle booths and some tables w/chairs. We chose a booth and that was a huge mistake. There are no cushions, which is fine - anyone can sit at picnic table can handle sitting on a hardwood surface. The killer is the back of the booth is straight backed wood and forces you to hunch forward. The half circle booth has very little foot room which is great if you're feeling amorous, terrible if you're with a work buddy. Our table ordered brisket w/ collards and coleslaw and a black and blue burger (no onions) with fries. Table service is absolutely friendly and quick. The hush puppies are average, good flavor; probably even great when served hot. Brisket had good flavor but was rather dry and gave the impression that it had sat in an oven quite awhile to keep it warm. The burger was also dry obviously overcooked, which is not how a black & blue is made, but I digress. It sat on some cold blue cheese blue cheese crumbles. The fries are bland, could be good - with some seasoning. There are so many ways to jazz up french fries. The whole meal just felt underwhelming. The highlights were the collards, coleslaw and wait staff. Not what I expected or wanted for a locally owned place. I got the brisket plate with baked beans & green beans. I also got ribs. The brisket was ok, it had good flavor but I think it could have been cooked a bit longer because it wasn't tender.
