Literally the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The buns are flaky and buttery. The eggs are cooked to perfection. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. I cannot understate how amazing this sandwich was! I usually take multiple pictures to add to my reviews, but I found myself halfway finished before I even thought about taking a picture! My wife got the bacon egg and cheese. The bacon was thick sliced and melts in your mouth. I got the fried Mordatella, and the tangy spread and salty Mordatella were a match made in heaven. The donuts are amazing too, but the sandwiches are what will haunt my dreams and ruin all other egg sandwiches for me. This spot is well worth a trip and a bit of a wait!!

So our daughter said, (I am paraphrasing here) "Mom, dad, I have a place to go for breakfast sandwiches tomorrow morning. They make an incredible breakfast sandwich. And I know what you are thinking because I thought the same thing, how great can they be? It is a just a breakfast sandwich. Well, I tell you , they really live up to the hype!" Although my wife and I were both thinking to ourselves, it is an egg sandwich big deal, we know and respect our daughter's opinion when it comes to food, so Thyme Machine in the morning was our plan. FAST FORWARD TO MORNING Nice warm morning. Walk towards food cart. Large group of people milling about waiting for their sandwiches. Woman taking orders. Man cracking eggs into rings on grill. Wife not happy to learn only choice is fried egg with varied additions and sauces because she does not like fried egg. Me, not a fan of the pretentious combinations offered. We reluctantly pick our selection and wait. We finally sit at table that is set up in street and open our sandwiches. They are hot, fresh, drippingly messy and DELICIOUS!!! As my daughter told us the day earlier, they do live up to the hype. Everything about it was great. The bread, egg, veggies and sauces. Something has to be said when a woman who hates fried eggs said, it was a perfect breakfast sandwich. What more can I say? I guess I can say, try and go at an off time...a weekday rather than weekend to cut your wait time. From what I hear, the wait can be very long on a weekend morning. And you know what? I can understand why!

We came to the Thyme Machine from DC and absolutely loved it! The broccoli rabe breakfast sandwich was such a surprise and an amazing combination of flavors, and the bread is out of this world. Ryan and his team have a wonderful thing going and if you're in Pittsburgh you must check it out. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had yet.

Long line but definitely worth the wait. So much flavor. We had a couple of the sandwiches and they were both 5 star.

This is the best food in Pittsburgh hands down. There’s always a line to attest to this fact. Everything on the menu is melt in your mouth good but I especially love the mortadella with cherry mayo.

Their BEC might have been the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. They keep up pretty quickly with (justifiably) long lines and it feels like a bit of a community of positive anticipation while you’re waiting with everyone. Really glad this exists.

Had been wanting to try this notorious Pittsburgh breakfast spot for a long time, and finally got the chance on an abnormal weekday off work. And all the hype about their breakfast sandwiches seems to be completely true. I stopped by around 9 AM on a Thursday, and was able to order right away, and only waited 5 or so minutes behind about 7 other people, so they move fast, while still being very pleasant. The area (outside Bitter Ends) has plenty of place to stand and ledges to sit or lean, and there are a few tables near the food truck where you can sit and eat. I decided to go classic and get the Bacon Egg and Cheese, which was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had before. The bacon was thick and the egg wonderfully runny, while the griddled onions, spicy ketchup and green onions provided perfect flavor compliments. All this was brought together by a kaiser style roll that was perfectly griddle toasted to provide both soft chew along with crunchy edges. My only regret is that I wasn't near hungry enough for more food, since the portobello and avocado sandwich also seemed like an amazing choice, and now I'll have to plan at least one more trip to give it a try. Overall, this is definitely a must try if in or around the Bloomfield area when the stand is running.

Not only do the reviews live up to the hype, there is an infections sense of joy and community that pours out the workers underneath that magical tent. So much so that waiting in line didn’t feel like a big deal. The service was top tier, they are super dog friendly, and we cannot wait to come back again! Bravo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s a window counter, so you wait outside. When I went, the weather was cold, rainy, and windy. By the time I got my food, I thought there was no way it could be worth it. I’m happy to say I was wrong. But go on one of Pittsburgh’s 3 sunny days.

Very amazing food, if you are looking for something new or just visiting and want some delicious Lebanese food this is the place to come, the service was amazing and the food was delicious!

Never had a sandwich there I didn't like. Mortadella is the best, IMO. They have good donuts too. Only problem is it's a stand and not a restaurant so weather and wait times can be an issue.

They could really get a Michelin star, these sandwiches are just so good. The bread is amazing, ingredients are fresh, eggs are cooked just enough to drench everything in yolk which means every bite tastes equally amazing. My favorite thing is to see the look on someone’s face as they take their first bite of one of these sandwiches. You have expectations but I’m pretty confident they won’t be high enough.

As your attorney, for the sake of not ending up on a government procured list of sex offenders, I would suggest not making eye contact with anyone, while you eat Thyme Machine sandwiches. Foodgasms are bound to occur. Best to eat indoors alone, with no children or playgrounds near by. Trust me.

Completely unique experience in pittsburgh from waiting in line in front of the cart to the sandwich itself. The Brocollini sandwich is this awesome combo of breakfast and casserole complete with the bread which is dinner roll adjacent. Always appreciate how the menu changes with the season to keep things fresh.

The sandwiches are modest size and yet so crammed with delicious flavors probably physicists are studying them in a colider. The neutron star of sandwich. To solve the small problem I sometimes buy 2. To solve the wife problem I buy 3 or 4.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had. Truly a gem in Bloomfield (& Pittsburgh)! I’ve recommended this to all of my friends, and they all love it. Everything is so fresh, creative, and soooo delicious! You can never be disappointed with any item. 10/10.

They make everything to order and there aren’t that many employees to expect to wait 5-10 minutes for your order! The fried mortadella sandwich has excellent bread, unique and tangy and delicious sauce, and plenty of meat. There are 3 tiny tables next to the stand, so don’t count on getting a seat. Staff were very sweet.

Solid breakfast sandwiches. Had a good mix of flavors and very freshly made. It’s about a 15 min wait for the sandwich, and they cost around $9. Very filling, so that’s great, though a little salty in some parts. Honestly there’s probably a ceiling to breakfast sandwiches in terms of taste, but Thyme Machine does it well.

The best breakfast sandwiches of my life. I’ve stood in line for 45 minutes and it is totally worth it. Their doughnuts are amazing (soft and crunchy at the same time) as well.

Banger breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts. Pittsgurgers brought out their dogs during this glorious day, which made the wait very enjoyable. Outside tent only had one flavor of doughnut sadly, but I'll be back to try some others.

Ridiculously delicious breakfast sandwiches!!! This place deserves the perfect 5.0 rating. The egg was perfectly cooked and runny, the bacon was to die for, the cheese was perfect, the ketchup complimented it perfectly, and it was so worth the wait! We didn't even have to wait too long in line, I absolutely recommend this place and will be coming back.

I hate that I have to give this place five stars because that just means more people will come here, and I'll have to wait in line longer. But seriously, these are the best breakfast sandwiches in town. Ryan and them are all super friendly. The menu changes up periodically, usually showcasing locally sourced ingredients. Their donuts are also amazing. There's nothing here not to love. Just make sure to follow them on their Instagram account to keep abreast of what they're up to, including unexpected closures.

Some of the best bf sandwiches I’ve had in my life. Walking around one morning and saw people lining up. Best decision ever to join the line. Vast menu and everything was freshly made! Had the avocado mushroom sandwich and it was delectable. Also tried the bacon egg cheese another time and it was such a classic goodness. Will love to come back and try more stuff on their menu. Their pastries were also very tempting.

Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches you can get in Pittsburgh. Creative menu that doesn’t go too over the top, made with love, perfectly balanced in flavor. These folks work so hard and deliver every time. Show them some support and you won’t be disappointed!

After seeing a perfect 5.0 rating, I had to come check this place out. Definitely be prepared to wait but maaaan, it’s worth it. The sandwiches were DELICIOUS and fairly priced. Service was friendly. Highly recommend for a proper breakfast sandwich.

Amazing place. I'm in Pgh a few times a year and stumbled on Thyme Machine today. These guys have their breakfast game on point. Steven was super friendly and helpful (that's important pre-coffee) and the food was excellent. The sauces complemented each sandwich perfectly and the ingredient seemed very fresh. Also, their coffee is way better than $tarbucks. Definitely a place to visit.
