A unique bakery with a farmhouse vibe. Pricey, but they live up to the expectation. Everyone was extremely friendly and the staff were very helpful, but there's a lot of 'do it yourself' when it comes to service. Pizza was excellent, salads were dressed well, and a good beer and wine selection.

The breakfast sandwich and almond croissant were super delicious! Especially the almond croissant, wow, the best croissant I've ever had (and I've lived in Europe for some years where they come from). The garden area is full of different flowers, veggies, picnic tables, great place to chill & get some inspiration on gardening ideas :) seems kid/pet friendly too. Loved it 🌟🌠✨️💫

We tried to book reservations for pizza night, but were shut out almost immediately upon the reservation window opening. We were, however, able to secure a rare takeout spot that night. To do so, we had to start calling at 9:00 in the morning exactly, and redial until we finally hit upon an opening in the phone line. Per the pizza, my dining companion says thus: this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and I live in Brooklyn, New York. We opted for the veggie pizza. It was both creative and classically delicious. The crust was burnt and crusty on the outside, with a chewy interior, creating pizza crust heaven. I was completely mind blown with the addition of green coriander. Prices were not listed on the menu or website, and the bill was a bit of a shock, but my tummy had no complaints. We also came for the morning, for which you should be prepared to wait up to an hour. Depending on what you have planned for the day, it might be worth the wait. The ambiance and setting are both something special The ambiance and setting are both something special. Coffee and pastries were also out of this world.

Snagged a reservation at Tinder Hearth while visiting from Pennsylvania. It’s definitely worth the effort to get it! We had a sausage and hot honey pizza that was one of the best we have ever had. The atmosphere is great, with picnic tables scattered throughout. Highly recommend!

I agree with everyone else. Best bread I have EVER had. Hands down. Cool venue. Nice owners. Not close to anything. Worth the drive from anywhere in Maine.

Pastries and breakfast sandwiches were very good. The ground are beautiful too. That said it took 50 minutes for a coffee, two croissants and breakfast sandwich. We arrived ten minutes before opening and were tenth in line. It cost $70. I mean cmon. No Mainer is going to pay this regularly but I guess it’s good for out of state folks.

What a place! It really is incredible how this business turned an old barn into an incredible coffee, breakfast, bakery, pizza shop. Really impressive. I would highly recommend!

I've been going to Tinder Hearth for years but the seemingly overt greed of late after (ahem) an article in The NY Times has this Mainer thinking twice before heading that way. $38 for a pizza? Really? I'm glad things are going so well for the folks at TH that their prices can surpass that of high end Italian joints in NYC. But the frequent screw ups on orders (both bread & pasty and pizza for dine in orders) and seeming disregard for the people that have supported them since the beginning has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Do not miss Tinder Hearth if you are in the area. The baked goods are excellent and the pizza is wonderful. They also serve wonderful coffee/espresso drinks. The bakery/restaurant is set in a lovely, rural part of Maine. Very kid friendly. They do not permit you to bring your furry friends with you, even in the outdoor seating. It is very difficult to get a table during the Summer, so make your reservation early - before you leave home if possible.

What an experience it is to visit this bakery/restaurant! I felt like I was walking into my grandma’s living room in the fall. The vintage couches, the exposed wooden beams, and the cast iron wood-stove in the middle of the eating area all made for a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. Especially with the cloudy, rainy weather we felt very cozy. They have ample outdoor seating for sunny days and they have a public restroom as well. The flavors in their egg sandwich were unique and delicious. The ham and cheese croissant was perfectly flaky and had a generously salty flavor. The lattes we got had adorable latte art and gave us the caffeine fix that we needed. Tinder Hearth has mastered the skill essential to every bakery: they KNOW how to make some delicious bread! Also, we are not from this area and didn’t realize how low on gas we were or how far we were from a gas station. Lucky for us, Tim was able to help us out and give us enough gas to make it to our next stop. The individuals that run this bakery feel like very honest, salt-of-the-earth people and it always feels good to meet people like that. Thanks for a good time Tinder Hearth!

Don’t come here if you think all restaurants should be run like a Wendy’s. Incredibly hardworking establishment, putting more care into pizza (and bread) making than most. Truly excellent pizza, absolutely perfect crust and delicious toppings. The most beautiful outdoor and indoor dining areas and very kind service. I challenge you to find a better pizza anywhere on the east coast. I know I’ve tried. Buy their bread immediately if you see it in local shops. It’s killer.

Very warm welcome by staff! Great space! Fabulous breads, scones, and other pastries. The cappuccino was very disappointing - liquid only, minimal foam. If Tinder Hearth masters the cappuccino I would rate 5 stars. I will definitely go back. I just will not get a cappuccino.

Cinnamon bun delicious! Spiced apple croissant delicious! Bought a large selection and everything was very well made! Barn is neat, seating is charming. Definitely stop and enjoy!

This place is totally worth the drive!! It won the best restaurant for 2023 by The NY Times and this is why we chose it. From the moment we drove onto the lot (limited parking), to walking up to the romantic lit barns/field, to finding a table that felt like home, to eating a gormet salad and scrumptious pizza, We found a GEM!! You’ve got to make this a MUST-STOP while in the area. Totally worth the drive!!

Always a special evening. A magical garden with the best pizza. We wish we could get in weekly but with the hustle and bustle of summer we usually only get to once per year and it's always memorable. A favorite that our kids remember year after year.

I am visiting a friend that lives in Blue Hill. She was kind enough to let me in on this local spot. The outdoor dining, out amongst the vegetable gardens is beyond scenic. The pizza is on another level. Just amazing. Everything about this place is perfect. The super friendly staff make you feel like you are at a family picnic. The food is way better than a family picnic. Be sure to save room for the organic soft serve with freshly made,lacey sugar cones. Need I say more? *They also have a bakery. Again, amazing *

Tucked away in Brooksville, Maine, you'd be forgiven if you mistook Tinder Hearth for just another countryside retreat. But as we walked the flagstone path, lined with fragrant herbs and edible flowers, it became clear that this was an ode to the art of pizza. And then there's the pizza. It's a revelation. The crust, blistered from the wood-fired oven, is perfectly chewy and crisp. The toppings, an ever-changing parade of local produce, taste of the seasonal picks from the farmer’s market. But Tinder Hearth is more than its pizzas. Salads, fresh from the garden, burst with colors and flavors so vivid they almost eclipse their pizza partners. Freshly shucked oysters, wine and beer options were available - with classic soft serve for dessert. The space is very family friendly, but leave your dogs at home. Would I drive the winding roads to Brooksville just for a pizza? In a heartbeat. Because Tinder Hearth isn't just about pizza. It's about celebrating Maine, one slice at a time.

IF you get a reservation, you will have a memorable, delightful time. Especially outside in the garden. Oysters are heavenly, pizzas are bananas, atmosphere off the charts. Great service. Good wine and freshest ingredients picked next to where you are sitting. A MUST.

We found this place on google and after visiting 44 North and seeing the pastries, we were excited to go. From the submitting of a request to be called, to the final payment of the tab, our experience at Tinder Hearth was divine! Expectations were clear regarding getting a call and making a reservation. As luck had it (we are camping and bicycle riding), we missed the call to reserve. When we called back at the scheduled time (Tuesday after 3:00), I spoke with the most cheerful, helpful person! She just put a huge smile on my face and fortunately managed to find a slot for us. Phew! The grounds at Tinder Hearth are colorful, beautiful and well kept. There was a flow to getting a table. Again, the staff person, so cheery! Though there were lines of people, there did not seem to be stress. There was an order to the masses. Our host was able to both be efficient and connect with people, greeting them with warmth. The wait for our meal was completely within reason. The food itself was amazing. As you’ve read already, the crusts are super thin, the ingredients were fresh and the flavors are all so tasty! One pizza was more than enough for two of us. We had big appetites due to hiking and biking earlier in the day, but we could not even finish one pie. We had a combo pizza to meet our different preferences. Dessert too, was delish! Oh, I must mention that all during our stay this past week, we’ve been enjoying the amazing pastries from Tinder Hearth that we purchase at 44 North. The almond croissants are a favorite, as are the cookies and bread. Wow! Just wow! It was lovely to be outside among many others at their own picnic tables enjoying a lovely meal on a summer evening.
