This is my favorite coffee spot and they have the most delicious vegan+ gluten free options.

Tip Top was fantastic! We came here for a trip and stopped along the storefronts in Davis. Found Tip Top, ordered an Iced Chai tea and a Chai Tea Latte with a shot of vanilla. Best lattes we have ever had! Prices on drinks were reasonable, as our total for two and a snack was around $10. We are going back today for more!

What a great spot in Thomas (an amazing town!). Must-visit place for any coffee or baked good lover. Strawberry rhubarb muffin was insane(ly good) and coffee drinks all delicious. Also some nice items for sale, including cool ceramic coffee mugs.

In addition to excellent coffee and tea, they also have a wide selection of great baked goods, snacks, beer, and other drinks. Highly recommend the nitro cold brew and the breakfast sandwiches.

What a delightful find when visiting nearby Blackwater Falls. Not only great coffee but excellent pastries and a really nice shop with wide variety of anything one might want for a nice picnic. It was also really a nice space to eat in as well.

I am from WV, so I grew up stopping here on trips through the area. Now that I'm older, have 5 years of specialty coffee experience, and have traveled around the world, this is still my favorite coffee shop for its consistent quality and good vibes. And the blueberry cream cheese pastry. The new space is great!

This is a great coffee shop. I didn’t check the hours for local shops before visiting but Tip Top was open! Great spot with tons of options for drinks and food. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Come here if you are in town!

Somewhere between Brooklyn and Thomas is how I would describe it. Everything was spot on.

Incredibly rude staff. Tried to order a drink and was told it is not a proper “drink” so they refused to make it. Although I live next to an award winning coffee shop that makes it all the time. We had two young kids, guessing they didn’t like us for that reason and not the drink order. To owner who responded: Thomas location. It was an iced cortado. They said they can’t do iced because it’s not “proper” but all I wanted was espresso over ice with very little oat milk. The barista literally said she refuses to make that. It was 4/28 around 12:30pm. The cashier tried to accommodate, barista refused.

Probably the worst service I've ever had in my life. Left me feeling like second class citizen because I brought my kids with me to get a cup of coffee. Add on top that I ordered a drink that I've ordered all over the country just to be told that they refused to make it that way was just disgusting. Place had as much charm as an outhouse and I've had better service at a sheetz.

Barista redid a shot since she decided the espresso needed to be dialed in again. Respect the focus on quality.

Coffee was good but that’s not why I’m writing this. I stopped off to grab a pour over and got behind two interesting patrons who got to the front of the line and inquired about gluten free options (the cashier explained the offerings and showed adequate concern only to be told it was a preference and not medical). They then inquired about pumps of syrup and milk options. The cashier again showed concern and offered accommodations to what was once again “preference”. It took these two Karens 15 minutes to order based upon their “ordering for Karens” guidebook and it was handled so professionally. I was so hoping they would be offered some free mushroom jerky but alas they were not. Anyone who could deal with that and take them seriously and not mess with them even a little bit is a saint. I didn’t get my pour over because of the time (my decision) but my cold brew and gluten filled cookie (I don’t have Celiac) were wonderful.

My family enjoyed their drinks and food. The banana nut muffin and chocolate croissant were the absolute best I have ever had.

The coolest unexpected find in Thomas! Went back the next day because I had to experience the strawberry cream cheese pastry and chocolate croissant again. They have a fantasy selection of snacks, wine/beer, and charcuterie products. I didn't have coffee due to a health conflict, but the spiced cider was perfection. My fiance and a friend had the mushroom coffee and absolutely loved it. The owner was super cool and helpful too. This will definitely be a staple for us each year when we visit Blackwater Falls.

Overall, I really like tiptop.. They have a variety of fresh and unique pastries, including many vegan options. The coffee is the best around (not because it’s really the only option!) They have a variety of bottled drinks, chocolate and snacks also.

Love love love! They serve up the best oat vanilla lattes and vegan bites. It is the perfect pitstop while wandering around town and before/after a trip to Blackwater Falls SP.

Best coffee shop I’ve ever been to!

Just an incredible coffee spot, we had to visit every day during our stay in Davis. Not only some of the best coffee drinks I've had anywhere, but also amazing baked goods (spinach feta was my favorite) that rival the best bakeries in big cities. Then, you get to the selection of foods they carry...you can tell how thoughtful the owners are, from the craft beer selection to the dried and canned goods. Super lucky to have TipTop part of the community in Thomas.

I'm a complete coffee snob and I have no problem admitting that. This is an absolutely fantastic coffee house with a /gourmet grocery section (I saw high end charcuterie meat, tinned fish and tuna jerky. Great local craft beer offerings sold in cans. I assume to-go only but I'm not sure. I went with my usual order....Americano. it was spot on and the crema from the perfectly drawn espresso was perfect. As good as I have had anywhere at anytime. My relatives had been to this location along with another location and they raved. They nailed this. This place is as good as it gets. We had eaten earlier so I was not tuned in to those offerings at all but my relative purchased me a fancy blueberry pastry. I did not eat it until the next day. These fancy French looking fancy pastries always seem to disappoint but this one was truly a blueberry explosion of flavor.

Coffee was just ok. Hot chocolate was not at all hot. Was just room temp milk with some light cocoa in it. Update: one year later we visited again. Service was much better. Drinks were hot and tasty. Ginger spice cookie was definitely spicy! Better this time around. Updated the stars to reflect a better rating.

The coffee is great and we enjoy coming on our once a year trip to Thomas. however I was bummed to be charged $1.50 for a literal splash of oat milk in my americano this time. That’s really excessive especially since it isn’t a latte it’s just a splash hardly turned the drink a different color I think this should be taken into consideration because that’s a huge up charge.

Cute little cafe with pleasant employees. The bakery items all looked good. We picked a large cinnamon roll to share - yum! The espresso was extremely bitter! Burned and / or overly extracted beans produces a bitter brew that no amount of sugar or milk can fix.

TipTop Thomas moved recently! I always love stopping into this location and getting a Chagaccino! It has a similar--if not identical--menu to its Elkins counterpart. I highly recommend this spot!

Gushing about how beautiful, meticulously detailed, and thoughtfully curated this place is. The baked good were exceptional. The best pepperoni roll I ever had. Not greasy. Light airy yet flavorful and filling. Endless variety of super hipster brands and products. Service was excellent and welcoming. Highly recommend grabbing all the baked good you can because they sell out for good reason.

This is a very bright, clean little coffee shop . We had latte and pastries and both were very good. The lady who waited on us was very friendly and patient as we decided on what we wanted.

TipTop has moved a block from its former location and now occupies a two-room space with seating at tables and a ledge looking out the front windows. The coffee remains terrific, and the decor features local and interesting art. Since last I visited (in the old location), the stock has expanded to include many beverages and specialty snack foods that lean in healthy/organic directions, including a number of hemp products. The baked goods we tried from the glass case at the coffee bar were really good, and there were gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. The GF raspberry shortbread was our favorite.

Went in the other day and ordered a cappuccino, asked for it in a proper cup, and was told if they did that for me, they would have to do it for everyone. I did not need a to go cup, because I was on a motorcycle, wanting to rest and enjoy. They advised me that they were short staffed and had no way of washing cups, there was three people in the store at the time and I was the only one at the counter. I will say the first day I went in. I got the same story when I ordered my 2nd cup I begged for a cup and begrudgingly, I was given a proper vessel. Needless to say there are over a half a dozen for here cups, sitting on top of the espresso machine and was told that they are just for looks. The drink was good, but terrible optics. They seemed more busy chatting amongst themselves. Please remove the proper cups from the top of the espresso machine.

Loved all of the variety of other foods and drinks this place had to offer. As someone with food intolerances, it was a breath of fresh air. Will definitely return.

Let me first say that the coffee was good. Delivery needs improvement. I went in and ordered a cappuccino and asked for it to be put in a regular cup, which there were a dozen sitting on top of the espresso machine. I was told that those are just for show And they do not have the manpower to clean cups since they were very busy and if they did that for me, they would have to do it for everyone. At the time I looked around and there were three people in the establishment working away on their laptops, not ordering coffee. I don't think it's too much of an ask to have a proper cappuccino served to me in a proper cup that is clearly visible. Bad optics. I suggest removing all of those cups, so the problem does not a rise again. I will say that they begrudgingly gave me a second cappuccino in a cup, but I got the same story the next day and didn't feel like it was worth conversing them further. Also, they're the only game in town, so I guess they do what they want.

Beyond awesome. One of the brightest gems in the treasure trove that is Thomas, WV. *Update* Now the store moved down the street and gas a little bit of a different feel. Still great place to go. They dropped the bar to focus on their coffee and other items. The location now has a bit more of an updated aspect to it. Seating is still a bit limited. Maybe between 16-20 could sit comfortably. Staff still good and inviting. Pricing is a bit high but you don't come to a place like this to be cheap. Worth the stop.

Tip Top is a great venue along the old and weathered neighboring stores. A thoroughly modern shop awaits inside. Virtually any beverage you desire is available from coolers full of cold offerings to coffees, they've got you covered. Don't miss the baked goodies that are the star of the show. Excellent.

I almost missed this fabulous experience and I'm so pleased to be able to say i enjoyed myself immensely after having been told that all the restaurants in this town are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and I decided to adventure over there from the black waterfalls resort anyhow. I was greeted with such enthusiasm with only sincere intentions by two employees who are over the top great in exuding customary hospitality....Emmitt and Tanner. I applaud them both and thanked them for the recommendations. If I looked close by I would be a regular but I live in Vermont. The pastry features are out of this world. I ended up purchasing four and took them with me. I did stop and pause and spend some time outside at seating that they have arranged. The location is fabulous. The store is immaculate and styled in such a way that it exudes cheeriness. I congratulate the owners, one of which I was able to meet, on a fabulous endeavor and grand achievement in elevating the Thomas town jewel of West Virginia.

Stopped into the coffee shop on our way to Blackwater Falls. Absolutely loved this place. I got a lavender cold brew, and a maple pecan pastry, and my fiancé got a strawberry pastry and we took a chocolate chip cookie to go. Definitely worth the stop as the whole town looked pretty cute as well.

I was politely asked to leave because I had my Jack Russell just inside the entrance while my family was in line to order. No dogs allowed! Fam enjoyed bevs indoors, I enjoyed my cap in the Jeep (super cold outside that morning). Hope to visit again.

TipTop is a great place for coffee, chocolate and art. You’ll enjoy your experience of walking the street of Thomas, WV. Lots of quaint shops there. I bought coffee and chocolate on a cold, windy day. It was perfect to comfort me and keep me warm.

Laid back atmosphere, good view of the outdoors, and lots of options for various diets including a mushroom coffee I had. I would highly recommend this place for a quick coffee and snack stop.

The best pepperoni roll I have had! I would also recommend the cinnamon bread, not to be confused with the rolls, which they also have, and the hot chocolate.

Everything you could ask for in a coffee shop! Delicious drinks and pastries including many unique menu items you wouldn’t expect in a tiny old coal town in West Virginia. The staff were super friendly and the facility is clean and bright. My husband and I spent the weekend in town and visited this coffee shop three times, so I believe that speaks for itself.

I finally visited this coffee shop for the first time and absolutely loved it! The chai tea latte is amazing and I love all the vegan options this place has to offer. My husband and I will definitely be returning. The staff were welcoming and friendly as well.

Tip Top Coffee is a gem. They brew consistently incredible coffee. It’s worth stopping in Thomas just for Tip Top, but if you do, pause and walk around Thomas too, it’s a sweet, eclectic tiny town.

Hidden gem in a small town. Coffee was good, I had a Chai latte, could have been a little hotter but it was alright. They sell all kinds of stuff in there, specialty chocolate, snacks, beer, merchandise. The decor was very pretty, loved the atmosphere. Lots of seating options inside and outside. One thing to note is they do not sell food, when I went they only sold bagels and bakery items.

They offered a few keto bakery options, one of which I had and thought was amazing. They had a few salads to go which looked healthy. This place seems trendy and hip. Their Facebook says they moved down the street in September 2022, so some of these photos on here seem to be of the old location.

While they offer many gluten-free baked goods that appear super delicious they are not a dedicated gluten-free facility and they employees working that day did not know if there were any cross contamination practices taken when baking and they openly admitted to using they same tongs to get gluten-free and non gluten-free baked goods and sandwiches out of the case. I appreciate the honesty and transparency. That being said, after visiting all the shops on the street I would say they are the most celiac friendly. They have a little convenience store snack section with many celiac safe, gluten-free options. If I were to visit the area again I would not purchase food anywhere else but here. Overall, the shop is clean, the staff are friendly and honest, there is a nice seating section and even tables outside. Parking nearby in season is unlikely so you will need to walk a little distance to get there.
