I identified myself as a first-timer and the precious young lady behind the counter gave us the scoop. Comfortable inside, nice decor and music. Pies were delicious! I had the Tex-Mex (super savory) and apricot pie. We’ll be back!

They have always been a forever safe food for me🥹 never gonna find anything better than Tom's fried pies! They feel like home in a flakey crust ❤️ all my happiest childhood memories involve these pies and I will always recommend them to everyone ❤️💯🌟🥧 hot and tasty always! They even have 10 pack pies in their freezer you can buy and put in your oven for meals! If Perfection exists it's this family owned restaurant ❤️❤️❤️ Come experience it! The roagie and the pineapple are all time favorites of mine forever ❤️

My first time today. I got the apple pie man it was 5 star. Fresh, hot, favorable especially the crust. It tasted like how fried pies were made decades ago in 80s. Do not pie store bought ever again just get fresh affordable pie at Tom. The girls are really nice and friendly. Give you recommendations. I'm trying the bbq pull pork fried pie and sweet potato next time. They're potato salad is good too. This is a hidden gem. Restaurant is a nice nostalgic feel extremely clean

Amazing customer service and the pies were soooooo good. I definitely recommend the Tex Mex, Pizza, and chocolate pies. The potato salad was also the best I have ever had. It was creamy and you can tell it was homemade. The owner, Vicki, is extremely personable and goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your meal. I will be back!!

We found Tom's while traveling through Jackson. The meat pies are made to order so always fresh and worth the wait. The coconut cream was very good. If I lived local I would go back frequently to try all the pies.

20240327 Miss Mississippi 2007, Kimberly, recommended this place. I stopped in to get some pies, and the young lady at the counter was so nice. I got the beef, chicken with veggies, tex mex, roagie, and pecan. The tex mex is the best. Chicken and veggies reminds me of chicken pot pie, but it only had 3 small cubes of chicken. For the price, I expect a little but more meat. The oecan pie was good but a bit too sweet. I don't like pecan, but this is like candy. The pies were a bit greasy, but expected since they are fried. For some reason, my mouth felt funny after eating the pies. Might be the grease. I prefer if there's more filling in the pies, and less greasy.

We stopped by from seeing signs on the highway on our way to FL. Not only was the food delicious but the service from Kendyn was amazing. She is the sweetest and took her time to make us feel like home. Would recommend this spot and will be back. We ordered the apple, peach, pizza and Tex mex…all tasted fresh and were delicious 🤤

So Yummy… So Satisfying We tried a variety of pies and all were delicious. Grab a pizza, apple, cherry, or pecan. You won’t be disappointed. They are perfectly cooked and not greasy.

One of the best small businesses I’ve visited. Everyone is nice and the menu is great—sweets and savory. The pies are really good and obviously fresh and not microwaved frozen stuff. My baby loved the sweet potato pie!

My wife, son and I were traveling through Jackson we always stop and purchase fried pies from Tom’s Fried Pies. He’s pies are delicious. We purchased the peach, apricot, pineapple and cranberry apple with pecans. They were all delicious but we all three thought the cranberry apple with pecans was the best. Looking forward to our next trip to Jackson.

The pies are good for the cost. They’re not anything to brag about though. The service sucks, they need to get it together. While we were waiting they messed up a guys order. Then after waiting 30 minutes for a single meat pie to be made, they gave us the wrong one.

I saw Tom’s Fried Pies on MPB’s Mississippi Roads hosted by Walt Grayson this past Sunday and being that this restaurant is located in Richland I thought we would give it a try. It’s located in a strip mall but has this cool covered patio space with tables and chairs. You walk thru the patio to get into the restaurant, which is a walk-up counter service. It kind of has a retro feel which is cool. The service was great, we were greeted and welcomed with a smile. We didn’t get there until about 2 but they still had a decent crowd. We ordered the chicken and broccoli and roagie fried pies with slaw and potato salad and soda in glass bottles which was awesome. The pies are made to order but it still only took about 10-12 minutes to get ours. I had the chicken and broccoli pie which honestly tasted like a chicken pot pie but with cheese in the creamy filling. My husband had the rougie which had beef, onions, mushrooms and some veg in it, he said it was really good. It was hard to wait for the pies to cool off enough to eat them! The coleslaw was sweet and creamy and the potato salad had bacon in it so it was nice and smoky in flavor. I’m dinging the atmosphere a bit on this review because I felt like that patio could have been cheered up a bit. There was a table tennis table against one of the walls, so you couldn’t really use it, there wasn’t any music or TV’s, and they had those cute stringed outdoor lights but several bulbs needed to be replaced. Also our table was super wobbly. All of that aside though it was a great experience and we will be back to try some of the sweet pies and other savory ones.

Worth getting off the freeway and going here .. An adorably decorated place... Order from the counter .. staff was sweet... And they fry them fresh for you... Cheaper by the dozen.. we brought some home... So far We loved the Beef one the best.... Oh and to find Apricot finally... What a treat!!!! Get both Savory and Sweet... the crust is flaky.... And altho you are over 2 hours from us... We are already planning to bring friends up here again! Thank you TOM❣️

Absolutely delicious. We were coming back home.from vacation and saw a billboard for Tom's. We made the stop, got about a dozen to go for our crew to sample. My husband and I ended up with about half a dozen at home that we kept in fridge and reheated for dessert most of the next week. The lady at the counter suggested we get the glaze on the side since we had them to go, and that was perfect. Wish I lived closer to this place, or they were able to mail. Definitely a place we will stop anytime we go through there on vacation from here on out.

Super cute place with kind staff and amazing pies. The bathroom was also clean which is a plus as a traveler. Our pies were made fresh and we were able to play games and conversed with the nice staff while we waited.

Apple has always been my favorite until today. The coconut is out of this world good. If you like coconut pie, you definitely need to try it. The filling is so creamy with just the right amount of coconut. Love Tom’s pies. Of course, I got apple too

I am sure the locals already share my humble opinion. We, as weary travelers, were on our return trip home to DFW, when we passed the sign for Tom's. We were about 9 miles away and it was 5 minutes until closing. We called, and the young lady on the phone said, "yall come on, it's no problem." We arrived about 6 minutes after closing time. We were greeted by the friendly voice on the phone. We looked at and selected our pies. We then met Mr. Tom and had a nice conversation. Tom and his staff were friendly and gracious. The pies were as good as the service! Every town needs and should be so lucky to have a place like Tom's. Thank you Tom to you and all of your employees. Craig & Janice.

Tried doing a call in order and the lack of customer service over the phone was horrible!! I was put on hold for a while, only then to find out they stopped making the dough for the pies…!!! This would’ve been my first experience here, but looks like I won’t be trying them anytime soon!!

I had read about Tom’s Fried Pies and we had to try it while staying in the area. It was excellant! The pies has flaky crust and full of filling. We got two meat pies and two fruit filled pies. I wish I had gotten some ice cream to go with mine! We will definitely stop on our next trip in March 2023! I do wish we had one closer to Birmingham, Al!!

Oh my goodness, what a find! Tom's has both savory and sweet pies. All were piping hot and fantastic. I chose the beef/mushroom/ onion/ potato in a savory sauce. My spouse got the chicken and broccoli. We each enjoyed an apple/cranberry/ pecan pie for dessert. He opted for glaze on top, added more sweetness. Everything tasted homemade and so yummy. Cute decor ( we sat outside on tractor seats). Both indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly service. What's not to love??!

salesperson at register, kept trying to sneak a old pastry in my bag,after I explicitly asked for all freshly cooked pies, 3 times. If a customer request all fresh pies, don't lie and try to sneak old pastries. This is Bad business practice!

Our GPS took us everywhere but the right place, we came upon it while searching, so glad we did, I ask this sweet man if the pie shop was open and he escorted me inside, I bought 6, we've already scarfed down the lemon and blackberry and a small bite of the sweet potato, these pies are soooo delicious, I'm wishing I had bought more, I definitely will come back. The crust is flaky and fresh, not oily, filling tastes like fresh picked blackberries. Ended up the nice man was outside and we talked and then realized he was Tom, of Tom's fried pies. This is a new location for them, hence the error on GPS, thanks Tom!!!

This place has been on my Eat list for a minute now, we're just never out this way. We dropped by to pick up a snack, we ordered the Tex-Mex, Roagie, and chocolate cream pies. The meat ones are made to order, so expect about a 10 min wait, but no worries, there are plenty of fun collectibles to look at while you wait. Dessert pies can be made fresh to order too, or in their grab n go. These pies are handheld sized, which is awesome so you're not stuck with a whole pie, and get to try a few different flavors. The crust is flaky, not too thick or overly doughy, the filling was full of flavor. Their potato salad is to die for, it's like loaded potatoes with bacon. Let me say that I hate living so far from here. This was our first time having made to order, fresh fried pies and it was so good! Mr. Tom came out, he was so sweet!! Told us a little bit about his collection of plaques, and the history behind his pie shop. He asked my fiance to play a game of Chess, but I think the man wasn't in the mood to loose, so he didn't take on the challenge 😆 We will definitely be back when we're in the area. Included a menu for yall.

doing a good old Google search for lunch near me I came across this place. Sounded unique and who doesn’t love something fried in pastry? Once we arrived found them quite busy with both in house and to-go orders. Very friendly and personable counter staff. All seemed very happy and worked together well. The menu shows 6 different savory choices, seven different fruit choices (two of which are also available no sugar added), and three cream choices. Pies come in regular and big guy size. When you approach the counter, you will see a large selection of already made pies for quick take-out or you can have them made to order, which appeared to be the choice of those dining in the smallish seating area. After perusing the menu and asking a couple of questions, we chose two savory (the Chicken & Vegetable and the Roagie with beef/mushroom/onion) plus two dessert pies (Blackberry and Chocolate Cream) and sides of slaw and potato salad. The only two choices available. After a bit of a wait-unsurprising considering the volume of orders-we were presented with our four pies hot and fresh, each in an individual bag. Be prepared to wait a bit more as they cool some for safe eating. The two savory pies were very similar in look and taste to a high quality pot-pie. Plenty of meat and veggies in a well-seasoned base of either cream sauce or beef-based sauce. I really enjoyed my Roagie with the combo of onion and mushroom creating a delicious flavor. My wife liked hers as well. We both agreed the crust was well made and they were fried perfectly. Also came to the conclusion that if they offered an option to top these with some sauce or gravy it would be a welcome addition. The slaw was unremarkable but the potato salad was very, very tasty. A good road lunch. The sweet pies were hit and miss. The blackberry was outstanding. Just like a fresh hot piece of grandma’s homemade pie. The filling was not too sweet, lots of berries, and certainly miles beyond any store-bought fried pie you’ve ever had. It was just as good when we finished it the next day after refrigeration. The chocolate was not so successful IMO. To be fair, I should have ordered it already made rather than made fresh as I prefer this type of dessert either cold or room temp. I had a bite or two on site which I found unremarkable. The next day, from the frig, I felt the filling was grainy and not real flavorful. A bit like a pudding that suffered from undissolved powder. I didn’t finish it. Similar to the savory pies, we thought the addition of either whipped cream of ice cream would bring these pies to the next level. This may have been available but it was not on the menu or offered by the staff. If you like this type of thing and are anywhere close by, I recommend Tom’s for your dining pleasure.

This place is located on the main road in an easy to miss location. Don’t miss it!! First off you can eat inside if you want but we got ours to go. We were waited on by the nicest young lady. While waiting for them to cook, we sat down to play a game of checkers. Who appeared to play a game with us — Tom. That made our night that man is a great checker player and an overall nice human. But his pies are even better!! We loved the chicken and beef meat ones. Seriously reminded me of something my grandma would have made. We then had an apple pie. Oh my now I know why it has won awards. Do yourself a favor and stop in!!
