Too expensive. We didn't stay to eat.

One of the best Thai places in the area. The pineapple fried rice is delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. The spice levels seem appropriate with the 2 giving just a little kick. I would imagine the 5 would give you an ample amount of heat.

The food is really good. Staff is always so friendly, puts other restaurants to shame how good the service is. It’s a smaller place but the atmosphere is great for a quiet dinner. The best thai food I’ve had.

Best Pad Thai I've had in a minute, authentic and delicious! I will say though even if you're used to heat (like me) I wouldn't go above level 3 spice.

First and foremost I would like to point out that I visit Tong Phoon quite frequently, sometimes multiple times per week spending about $40-50 each visit. On June 28th, I ordered pot stickers and when I got home and started eating them, there was hair in the first one. No big deal. I called in and I was told to take a picture to have them replaced for next time. Today I went inside to place an order and I presented the picture and I was told that the manufacturer makes them and he asked to take a picture of the pot sticker from my phone and took his phone to the back. He came back up and said everything was okay. When I came back in to get the order, there was a lady whom I greeted and she did not greet me back. As I was about to walk out, she told me that I need to take a picture of the entire order of potstickers and that they come from a manufacturer. I told her that I did exactly as instructed, and does it really matter if I take a picture of the whole order?? I’m showing you the one with the hair. She went back and forth about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the customer. At the end of the day when you have a business it’s your responsibility to make things right. The whole ordeal honestly was a turnoff from ever coming back here. Zero accountability, horrible attitude, horrible customer service, and you definitely shouldn’t make such a big deal about a situation so petty!

always a great experience and food is wonderful. Just be sure you know what spice level you can tolerate and order accordingly.

My wife and I love this place! The first year we discovered them we were going there every Friday night for date night. The food is extremely good. I always get the Pineapple Fried Rice and my wife always gets the Yellow Curry with spring rolls.

The food is always really good and comes out of the kitchen hot, the staff are super friendly and are always smiling, which is rare in restaurants nowadays. Never had a bad meal or experience. Highly recommend!

Hands down, best Thai food in the O'fallon/FH/Shiloh area. Only Thai restaurant in the area that has Thai Basil fried rice on the menu, always. Try Thai hot if you want to have a true Thai experience!!

I ordered a side of spring rolls but they brought two sides and charge me for two the meat in my entree was cold and everything else was hot it wasn't the best I've had and it was overpriced

This is a Hidden GEM… The food is so Good and always fresh.

First and foremost, they do not deliver! But give you the option on their website for delivery. An hour later and on the phone they said oh no we don’t do delivery. After picking up my food that sat for an hour after two phone calls to the restaurant to actually pick it up. I asked if I could have new food that was fresh they said no. Up until today this has been one of our favorite restaurants and the food is great, this was a bad experience. Again DO NOT CHECK OUT AND CLICK DELIVERY, you will not receive your food, eventually drive and pick up cold food and on-top of it paid for a delivery fee.

My mom treated us to an anniversary dinner on a Sunday night at Tong Phoon Thai. We had been once before and we were equally pleased on our return visit. I enjoyed the pad Thai with a level 2 spice and it was quite a bit spicier than last time, but variation on level of heat is to be expected. I will stick to level 1 next time. We ordered the fried spring rolls for an appetizer and enjoyed hot Jasmine tea to sip on while we waited for our entrées. Last time, we had the mango and coconut (I think) milk for dessert and it was delicious! Tasted like a dessert, but it was refreshing and light. We will be back!

Been going to this place for a while now. By far the BEST THAI AROUND! The service is amazing, people are so sweet and friendly! The food?? Best around!!! I eat here probably twice a week and it’s never failed to be my favorite. I’ll never order Thai anywhere else….

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Cannot recommend the summer rolls, the duck curry, and the pineapple curry enough! The chicken in the curry is so tender and has a great flavor. Their Thai iced tea is amazing too!

I had never been to this restaurant before or even a thai restaurant. The service was great and when I asked the waiter for his recommendation, he suggested the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) and OMG that was so delicious and I received enough food that I had enough leftovers for the next day. I will definitely be back.

Looks like it is in an old outlet mall but on the inside the decor is lovely and atmosphere was good. The food is in the top 10 favs for us, we look for new Thai places to try all the time. Great good and great service. I had the pineapple fried rice

Good food at Tong Phoon Thai will get you to come back. The Tom Kha soup is awesome. Other dishes I like there are the Pad Thai, Shrimp in a blanket and the Cashew Noodle. The eating area is clean and the servers are friendly and helpful. Lots of lunch specials to choose from if you are going for lunch.

Quite place to enjoy some amazing Thai food.The Pad Thai was cooked to perfection and the Pad See Ew was requested without meat and was served with plenty of veggies...the appetizer soup was packed full of flavor and the pot stickers seemed authentic. We will definitely be back.

A small but excellent restaurant. Spicy dishes can be accommodated to your taste from spiciness 1 (hardly spicy) to spiciness 5 (very spicy). My spouse and I prefer spiciness 2 but taste is an individual experience. Even within a plate, spiciness can vary. Pictured is Pineapple Tangerine Chicken which is served with rice. Update: 25JUL2023, got the Pad Samros (a fish dish) - WOW - spiciness 2 was REALLY spicy - rice could not tone it down enough.

Some reviews were mixed but our experience was great. Very friendly owner and waitress. Orders were accurate and delicious. Location was just a little out of the way but worth the small drive.

Nice family owned restaurant. I prefer them over big chain restaurants. Portion sizes are great considering the higher price. It is worth it. I enjoy the shrimp thai fried rice, stuffed shrimp, Crab Rangoon, & Spring rolls. My husband gets his Thai fried rice at a level 1. The fried rice is flavorful & the Crab Rangoon are amazing. My orders are always correct.

It's on the higher end of Thai takeout prices, but I think it's worth it. The food here is always prepared perfectly and you get enough for two meals (if you can stop yourself!)

Food is always delicious, when they get it right! Out of the 10 times I’ve ordered their chicken wonton soup, it’s only been accurate like 6 times from the modifications I like no carrots or pork. I need to start checking my order before I leave because now it’s my job they get my order right. It’s been wrong via online order and phone.

I love this restaurant! We tried several dishes on the menu and all were excellent! If you like curry, this is the place to go!!! Delicious! Also, the service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The entire experience was pleasant!

An easy review, if you love exotic Asian flavors, but I also love supporting the smaller family businesses that are not chains. The service here is extremely polite, and you will have no complaint with the food. If you've never tried Thai food before, then any of the Curry dishes are a must have. But for something special, light, and very different, then try the Nahm Sod salad, which is very savory and filled with complex flavors. And as the temperature drops, give the Tom Kha soup (with chicken,) and the savory, creamy and zesty flavors will be sure to please.

We were traveling through the area hungry for Thai food and Tong Phoon Thai did not disappoint. Best Tom Kha soup ever! All our food was delicious, fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Highly recommend this Thai restaurant.

I am very disappointed & sad to have to make this review. I enjoyed my typical meal of panang shrimp curry. But I also ordered pad-see-ew noodles with duck. The duck costs an additional $8…and it looked like they battered already-cooked duck & refried it. The noodles were coated in a red, oily glaze. This dish was disgusting & had a sweet taste that is not how pad-see-ew is made. Needless to say, I threw it out. Also…During the busy lunch hour on a Friday, it took 1 hour for us to get our food from the time we ordered. 🙁

This is bar none our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. The people are always sweet and helpful, the food is delicious and it’s atmosphere is nice, if a little open. We’ve never been disappointed.

Service was a little slow. But the food was very very good. We no longer live in the area but make it a point to stop there when we are back in the area.

+The Tom Kha was good, but the rest of the meal I found kind of lack luster. I went hoping to find lard na which they had the "golden pillow" (lard na) so I figured I would try it. -The choice in noodles they used killed the dish for me. The wheat like flavor of the noodles clashed with the flavor of the lard na. The spring roles were hot and flaky but no real flavor to em. -The tea was also flavorless, I would recommend matcha green tea with toasted rice. (Traditional medicinal) makes a great verson of this tea. The service overall by the staff was good though.

UPDATE 5/11/23 Met my son here for dinner and everything was delicious. I got my "usual" Green Curry with Shrimp. Huge serving, so I have plenty left for lunch tomorrow. My son has not had Thai before and thoroughly enjoyed the Red Curry with Crispy Duck. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and the service was great! ------- Delicious lunch portion of Green Curry with Shrimp. Even though I do take-out regularly, this is the first time I've eaten inside the restaurant in quite a few years. I was pleasantly surprised as the lovely remodel which makes the restaurant more inviting.

I used to love this place several years ago but stopped coming and just tried it again and fell back in love. The restaurant has been renovated in the last few years, and it is still casual but updated with more of a clean neutral look. Partner and I had 3 dishes and an appetizer and we both loved our food. Great service with a smile.

Pad Thai is great, but the Pad See Ew is just so excellent.

I've been here a few times now.

Just not as good as it was before COVID. Only 3 shrimp in the seafood hotpot now. Volcano fish is all breading around a quarter inch thick swai fish fillet. Used to be much bigger and twice as thick a few years ago. I understand inflation and supply made seafood more expensive. I would much rather they simply raise prices than skimp on size and quality. A once great restaurant is simply average now. That's disappointing.

Had dinner here tonight and had some of the best chicken panang, pad Thai and spring rolls we’ve ever had. We travel all over the US and Thai is a must dish for us to try everywhere.. this place hands down is #1 so far in our travels!! The veggies and meat all sliced and diced just perfect size, the flavor and thickness of the panang was amazing, the pad Thai noodles were juicy and not dry, everything had the perfect flavor and spice with level 1. The service was fast and very friendly. Must be everyone’s favorite as the place was busy and to gos were non stop. Thanks for making us and our belly’s smile 😊 we will definitely be back!!

Food was ok BUT customer service suck. This quality food could be $3 less. Thip Thai is expensive but tastes more authentic. Still better than Aroy though.

The man that answered the phone when I called in my order had a terrible attitude. He was impatient and pushy. When I called back to add spring rolls, he hung up the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, I asked him if there was soy sauce in the bag. He said yes and walked away. There were no soy sauces in the bag, at all. I WILL NOT be going back..

A truly amazing restaurant. The food is always hot and fresh and the staff is always so kind.

Large menu with a lot of variety. Vegetarian options of tofu or vegetables in place of meat on all dishes. The heat at the lowest level was a little higher than what I was used to but not unacceptable. The service was top-notch. The person who is taking care of our party of seven was wonderful. He was very engaging and offered suggestions for the meal.

My favorite Thai Restaurant from 7 years ago when I retired and return to Hawaii. Returned tonight while visiting and the green papaya salad is still delicious along with the Penang Curry with pork. Keep it up.

In town on family business. This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last. Extremely clean and neat, very friendly staff and fair prices, but the most important thing, the food… everything was absolutely delicious. You have have the crab meat Rangoon as an appetizer. Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did.

This was our first visit, but it sure won’t be our last. We were in town for family business. We love Thai food and noticed the sign as we were driving. The establishment is extremely clean and neat, the staff very friendly and the prices reasonable. The most important thing of course is the food, and it was absolutely delicious. You have to try the crabmeat Rangoon. It is some of the best we’ve ever had.
