Great place for comfort food and amazing desserts

Food was good and our waitress shelby, was great.

Love the food. Garret told me if I didn’t give his sister 5 stars I wouldn’t have a job come Monday. Jokes aside Shelby was a great waitress and kept everything professional and service was on point!

Found this restaurant by accident, but it will now be a road trip destination. Beautiful countryside, and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. While my husband were just getting hamburgers, we were pleasantly surprised by size and quality of the hamburger. Best rodeo burger I have had, my husband couldn't stop raving about the mushroom swiss burger. Our waiter Carter was very attentive to our needs keeping the coffee cups full, and was more than happy to share his knowledge of the area. Did not have room for dessert, but it all looked delicious.

One of our favorite places to dine. The food is very fresh and delicious. Just like it was made at home.

Wife found it on a trip with friends and said I needed to check it out. Very impressive place, great food, prices and service. Very clean. Awesome outdoor seating area. Well worth the 149mi trip. We will return.

My friend and I decided to go for a motorcycle ride and opted to stop at Traditions for breakfast and coffee.... plenty of parking easy to get in and out. We chose to sit on the patio and it was very peaceful with the waterfall/pond trickling in the background. Beautiful setting. Food was great. Definitely will stop back again sometime.

I really enjoyed the roast beef platter, and service was great as well.

I recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice sit down restaurant. I ordered Sarah's Grilled Mac and Cheese Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. It was sooo good. I will definitely come back!

First time dining at Traditions on July 6th. There were 3 of us. Our dinners were very dissatisfaction. I had salmon, asked for it to be medium. That doesn't mean dry, and over done. My friends had chicken breast, dry, and overdone, could barely cut it apart, the other friend had overdone fish, dried out. I didn't complain, but I paid $30 for the worst salmon I have ever had in any resturant. I will never come back for a meal, inexcusable

Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed. The waffle was really tough. I was expecting it to be light and fluffy. The potatoes weren’t cooked all the way. The coffee was watered down and the lady that was our server was awful. I won’t be coming back.

The place houses a spacious restaurant, well stocked store and a small bakery counter. All are quite impressive

Well The Hood made his way to the Traditions Restaurant. I Wanted to try this place for a while now and well I made it!! Let’s start with food people because we all know that’s the adventure. Food was awesome 😎! The Hood had this crazy sandwich of baked Mac n cheese and grilled buffalo chicken sandwich! Yum 😋 to the tum! The Hood clan had different as in chicken Parmesan all told let’s give the food some great. Highly recommend that sandwich The Hood had my Hooders! Service: great, we had two but not the norm we had a trainee but they did a great job! Atmosphere: nice. The servers were dressed in a periodic garb possibly Dutch I believe. Either way The Hood recommends a food adventure to this place. They also have a store attached. Remember food adventure is out there and the best way is to follow The Hood!! Stay safe, be kind and tip your server if they deserve it!

Great food outdoor dining nice staff

Everything we have visited Traditions, we have been received rather quickly. The waiter/tress has been attentive to our needs during the meal. Each meal we ordered came out correctly; it was the right temperature and tasted delicious ! The atmosphere has always been pleasant . If you've never eaten here; you're missing out on the PA Dutch experience along with other American fine dining !

Great family friendly restaurant.

This by far is the best restaurant in the area for good home cooked food. Everything we order is amazing. If you like breaded mushrooms, theirs are the best hands down and the ranch they make is magnificent. Their desserts and breads are also amazing. If you are in the area you must go here to eat. You won't be disappointed.

My fortune has allowed me to dine here twice while visiting a cousin. The atmosphere is quaint, service friendly, food delicious! Will definitely return if on the area!

The food is ok. It's one of the most expensive places around. The Prime Rib special is way over priced. I think they overwork their servers as the always seem exasperated. I hope they pay them well.

The booths are not fastened to the floor so your meal can be impacted by the arrival of diners seated behind you. Aside from that, the food is very good, especially if you enjoy PA Dutch fare. A small gift shop is adjacent to the restaurant. The service was good, the server was attentive but not hovering, and requests were met with a pleasant attitude.

Good home made style cooking. Large dessert selection with a bunch of gluten free options also.

Although our food was basic, the outdoor seating area was beautiful. Also our service was far better than most other restaurants. After returning, I have to say, our service was average. The food once again was just average. I had the ham pot pie and can easily find much better for less money, but the atmosphere is still very nice. My wife had the liver and onions and said it was one of the best she ever had. So I imagine it all depends on what you order.

Was disappointed in the bakery. Of your a quilter the store is loaded with fabric. They have a large selection of Carhart wrangler and Ariat clothing

When we come over this way from Windber, to shop the greenhouses, this is our must have dinner stop. We have not been disappointed over the years since we discovered it.

My address is 579 pine knob road Osterburg PaGot a Coconut cream pie , Will not get again. The dinners were ok but the pie was bad . Took pie to a my friends, and they all said they did not care for it. Will not be back.

This cozy restaurant was really varied in its menu and sides choices. Our Server was helpful with the menu and answering questions about how the entrees/meals were served. There were almost 20 of us and Shelby did an excellent job of keeping track of everyone's orders and requests. She checked on us frequently and made sure we had what we wanted. The pies were outstanding as well. I would recommend this place. Good food, reasonable prices, great service! Gift Shop was nice too!

Food here is delicious home cooking. Highly recommend the Belgian waffle either with chicken and gravy or the fruit topping for breakfast. Servers are so nice and don't miss the bakery!

We all had burgers. They were good. No real complaints with it. The fries were freaking delicious. I had curly fries and the others had regular. All of them were cooked Golden brown. Tasty. Just great. I may drive the 30 mins again just for the fries. The prices was not bad. Lots of desserts too. Nice laid back restaurant. Have like a small water fountain thing outside.

The name is absolutely pertinent as this place has a classic homey vibe to it. The carhartt items they have are cheaper than Amazon, especially considering these clothing items aren't taxed in PA.

You just can't go wrong with homemade Amish cooking. Then walk it off in their craft and Carhardt store.

Went there for a Birthday breakfast for my buddy, breakfast was great and the staff sang Happy Birthday sure put a smile on his face. Thanks Traditions Restuarant.

I went with a group of 12 for a late lunch. Food and service were great. Bakery items were awesome. I had a freshly made glazed donut (unbeknownst to my wife). Really good, so save room for baked goods or at least take something home.

The food here is delicious! Our server was friendly and patient. I ordered the honey glazed ham balls and couldn't finish as it was so much food!

We had the all you can eat fish, ham balls, and I got the roast with stuffing and gravy. Appetizers were the mozzarella balls and breaded mushrooms. Everything was delicious.

Everyone was so kind. The servers were very attentive without being around too much. No drink went dry! The restaurant is clean and very cozy. The food… oh the food! You can tell everything is made from scratch, the grease is clean, the ingredients are fresh and the bread is warm! I was so impressed and If I lived close, I would likely eat here 3-4 times a week!

It's good, but not as good as the restaurants in Lancaster County

I got chicken and waffles hardly any chicken and not enough of gravy to cover the waffles,and my wife got the ham pot pie and it was mostly broth no dough at all for the pot pie

Unfortunately, we will not be recommending or returning to Traditions after our last experience. Although it tastes very good, I have a bad reaction to the seasoning they use on the grilled chicken (migraines, tachycardia, and stomach pain) so I always ask the server to stress to the cook to not put seasoning on it. The chicken was brought to the table with seasoning, which happens sometimes when it's busy, so I politely asked for another chicken breast and was fine with waiting for it. The server apologized and said she would have them make another one. She returned to the table within 2 minutes with a chicken breast, set it in front of me quickly, and said "You're in luck. They had another one already cooked..." and very quickly walked away. I took a bite and realized it had seasoning on it. They had scraped the seasoning off the original piece and returned it to the table. If I had been allergic to the seasoning this could have been a life-threatening situation. I explained to the manager that I wasn't being picky. I have a bad reaction to whatever is in the seasoning and didn't think it was unreasonable to order it without. The manager apologized and removed only the chicken breast from the bill and charged us for the broccoli and salad I ordered. We're extremely disappointed with the actions of the staff and lack of concern from the manager. People have reasons for special orders and it's not always due to "pickiness".

Normally the staff and service is top notch. Several weeks ago we were having an early breakfast before a family funeral. Reservations at 830am. Didn't get our food order in until 930. And our food until 1030. We had a party of 8. Most from put of town. My husband and I were horribly embarrassed. We had to be at the funeral home at 11.

The PA Dutch Cordon Blue has been a favorite for years but the price jump was a bit of a shock yesterday. We did again enjoy the outdoor seating surrounded by all the great landscaping. Friendly staff, busy establishment.

They send me email for free dinner for my birthday. My friend and I went there. They gave the discount to my friend. She got free meal. I had to pay $36. for my meal…they said because hers cost less. Well, it was my birthday and my meal was not free….I had steak, patato, and broccoli. That’s it. Glad I didn’t order a drink or dessert..

The people are friendly, but their service is slow and their food is mediocre. A nonmennonite place just up the road beats their food by a long shot.

Highly suggest this place if in the area. The food and service were wonderful. Surprised our young teen with a chocolate cake from their bakery. It was moist and rich and delicious.

We took take out. They did a great job packing things up so that nothing got soggy or old on our drive home. They double checked and forgot nothing of our big order. Big portions. Good food.
