Ice cream was creamy and delicious — not icy at all, the waffle was warm and had a nice fluffiness to it!

This place absolutely deserves 5 stars! It is my go to place to take visiting friends and family for a sweet treat. My go to is the Belgian waffle with Pittsburgh pride- deliciousness!

The staff goes above and beyond for every detail. And the ice cream is incredible. Can’t recommend a better place in Pittsburgh.

This place is my roommate and I's spot to go when we are feeling down, stressed, or in need of a pick-me-up. I see why this place has 5 out of 5 stars and it absolutely deserves it. The owner is always kind and makes sure we laugh during our interactions. I think my roommate and I have been going once a week during these summer months. The best flavor by far in my opinion is the black pepper chai. Of course, you have to have it on top of a waffle.

5 star rating is fitting. The life cream was splendid! I had. 2 scoop, Pittsburgh pride (bottom) and mud coffee (top). She offered to add whipped cream and whew! L O V E D I T! Also loved sitting on the bench eating it.

The absolute best ice cream and Belgium waffle in the world. So worth it to come here! The whole experience at Treat is magical. The moment you walk in the door there is jazzy music playing, then you meet the owner and see the twinkle in his eyes as he gives you way too much whipped cream. Would highly recommend.

Lemon Rose Water icecream??? Locally made and then scooped while the most delicious hot waffle was griddled when I walked in. Oh. My. Goodness. Walked over here after a performance at Shadeyside Presbyt. in the evening and pedestrians on their evening walk continued to filter in and out. Go on a nice day because it’s a tight space to hang out (1 table with 4 chairs). Really nice service.

Best and most authentic Belgian waffles you're gonna find in Pittsburgh (trust me I know!). The owners are great and kind people, always attentive, and will remember your orders! They have lots of ice cream flavors and options for pint size ice cream take out. There's some seasonal ice cream flavors you have to try, and they always listen to the customer. They always have pup-cups ready for dogs, and love to pamper pets. 10/10 would recommend.

This place is AMAZING! My mom and I are in town for a college tour, and many people were walking around with the ice cream so I suggested we give it a try. Immediately the two guys in there were delightful and very helpful and cheery. The atmosphere was so fun the moment we walked in. The flavors were amazing and I almost couldn’t choose between the Thin Mint and the Pittsburgh Pride. I ended up going with the latter. It is like brownie/oreo/cookie chunks and butterscotch. There might be another thing added. My mom got the pear flavor. We are both extremely satisfied with our choices. They did say that the flavors change up pretty often - for example, they’re getting ready for Blackberry Lemonade. But Pittsburgh Pride will always be available. So if you’re looking for a cute little dessert place after dinner, this is the place!

Really good ice cream, and waffles. The owner is nice, and has a fun personality. The atmosphere is nice, but the place is small with only one table with 4 chairs. If your a patient person, and like good ice cream I would recommend, and will visit again.

Amazing place this place. The location is great and there is a great electric neon ambiance. The service is great as well. The idea behind the waffles with ice cream is great. Fantastic flavors too. I tried the coconut rum and baklava and highly recommend. Only issue is parking. Will come again when around.

Authentic Belgium waffles served by a very nice authentic Belgian. Most delicious ice cream & waffles that we have found in the US. We live on the Northside but several times a year, we drive to Shadyside. When we are there, we look forward to stopping for a waffle and/or ice cream and coffee. And, we always take our little Aussie with us. There are treats for her too! The waffles and ice cream are exceptional and the owner is the best!! It’s a special little shop!!

Nice and cute ice cream parlour. The flavours are limited but worth it. The warm crispy waffle in ice cream is a game changer. I tried pittsburgh pride and crazy chocolate flavours and both flavours are equally good.

OMG. Did not know that waffles could be so heavenly. We were in Belgium this past fall and tried a lot, this place has the best waffle I've ever tried. Absolute heaven. And the owner was so friendly and wonderful - absolutely must try! Super reasonable prices too.

This place was an awesome find! The owner was super friendly and excited to tell us about the sweets and authentic Belgium waffles (omg yum) and pretty much had us taste test all the ice cream flavors. You must have the waffles and a scoop of ice cream, we recommend Pittsburgh Pride. We will be coming back!

Everything was perfect. The liege waffle was delicious and the ice cream was so delicious. Even though it was 15° outside it was an incredible experience. On top of that, the family that runs this place are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. Also it was really affordable!

The flavor of this ice cream is better than any other ice cream I’ve tried! You don’t feel heavy after eating it either. Every flavor is authentic to its name.

Treat is a small business that sells authentic Belgian waffles and local ice creams. The waffles are small but are freshly made and tasty. The ice creams are available in 16 flavors on any given day, and different flavors are available on other days. For a midday snack (not a full meal), my husband and I each bought a waffle with ice creams. The owner spoke nicely to us and gave me a few samples to try. I enjoyed my black-raspberry ice cream, and my husband enjoyed his banana-custard ice cream.

We stopped in for our first time, they happened to be very busy with a group of 26 having just come in but the line moved quickly and when we got to the front the (I’m guessing owner?) scooping ice cream could not have been nicer! Kindly explaining the flavors and letting us sample, he also handed us each a bite of their Candy Cane flavor saying it had just come out, so kind! The ice cream was fantastic, definitely recommend the Pittsburgh flavor, it was amazing! We didn’t try a waffle but certainly will next time. The staff was incredibly kind it really cannot be over stressed. For great ice cream and an even better experience, come here!

Great, creamy and decadent icecreams. We got to try multiple samples before choosing and we joined 2 flavors, half and half, in one scoop. The waffles with ice cream are also great for some rainy comfort. Also, the music is great with bossa nova playing in the background. Coming back 😁🍧

This place is a Must Do! We were walking down the street in Shadyside, and happened to stumble across this fabulous ice cream and waffle shop! The owner let us try several of the unique flavors before we made our final choice. The waffles were warm and soft, with just the right sweetness, chopped into bite-size cubes. And the ice cream on top was fabulous! I had the mint chip, and the chocolate chips were whole! My husband was enjoying his ice cream so much, the owner offered him another scoop- who does that? I've had ice cream all over the world, and can honestly say that Treat is very special!

Nice little store on Walnut Street. Waffles were crunchy due to the sugar, which added some nice texture to the ice cream. Portion size was alright, just remember to close the entrance door.
