Best ribs in South Carolina that I've tried since moving here.

We stop in occasionally if we pass on our way home from the VA clinic. This last time, we got potato salad, hash n rice, beef brisket and okra. Okra was cooked perfectly. My husband said the brisket was a little tough, but he has dental issues anyway. The potato salad has a kick. Hash is good.

My husband & I ordered brisket sandwiches with 2 sides. Everything was absolutely delicious. We tried the Baby sauce by recommendation of an employee. We would definitely buy a bottle of the Baby sauce if we could.

Very friendly folks. My wife an I were at Myrtle Beach and came across this diamond in ruff. I love trying different BBQ joints a Truth BBQ did not disappoint. Don’t be discouraged by the location. We tried it all Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Pork, an Chicken. The sauces were very good, all unique. I’m normally not much on sauce but theirs was a good combination. We will be back the next time we are in town.

Amazing BBQ! Some of the best fall off the bone ribs I've ever had. Seasoning mix was awesome for all 4 meats we tried. You don't need sauce because the flavor is so good but thier sauces were well made and tasted amazing. Try the Uncle Jah with the chicken. The brisket was juicy and cooked to perfection no sauce needed just enjoy. If there were more stars to give they'd have them.😊 Pricing is great lot of food we split the large sampler and will still have enough for another meal.

Loved this place as a hole in the wall with outside picnic benches. Feels how BBQ should be served. I really enjoyed the food. I couldn’t tell if the bbq was oven baked like some claim, but I thought it was very tasty. I loved the baked mac. Had the crispy layer on top. The slaw was very good as well. I’d definitely eat here again. I think it’s probably closer to 4.5 on my rating system. I even had the chance to meet the owners parents. Very nice folks!!

Loved the food. I ordered a vegetarian plate. Every fixin’ was delicious. The baked beans are hands down the best I’ve ever eaten. My wife loved her brisket sandwich plate as well. I will definitely be back.

The Brisket was fantastic and juicy , I got Mac and cheese and potato salad and both were delicious, and the sauce?!? I had to come back and purchase a few extra for home , the young lady at the window was very well mannered and the young man moved with ease through multiple orders at a time. I read the reviews and it’s definitely not a waste of time , a family owned business is hard to come by these days!

Those ribs ain't nothing but the Truth!!! They were cooked good and they were juicy. I liked the vinegar based BBQ sauce. The beans were the Bomb!! I've been passing this little stop since I moved there, but I'm so happy I stopped today. The young lady and the gentleman that took my order were so nice and personable. I look forward to returning to True BBQ again.

No frills facility but the best ribs I’ve had to date and I am 67 years old. Meaty spare ribs with an amazing flavor. Slowly smoked over a blend of cherry, hickory and apple woods Outstanding

Ordered the pulled chicken and fries. Fries were good but the chicken was awful. Had to pull out multiple bones and there was no flavor. Also, the worker’s pants were so low his rear end was exposed around the food. Disgusting.

Hands down some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. I agree with some of the other posts and reviews. This doesn’t look like much; but man they pack a ton of flavor and amazing food. I went with my mom today for lunch and she was blown away. The customer service and friendliness of the staff, matches the quality of the food. I got the pulled chicken sandwich, she got the pulled pork sandwich, and we shared a side of fries. All were 100%. True BBQ is a must try in Myrtle Beach.

Wanted something other than fast food after a trip to the VA clinic in MB. Saw that they were open and stopped. Such friendly people! And the pulled pork was so good! I got hash and rice, not knowing what to expect. I had never heard of this dish. Spicy, but really good. Research showed me that this is a local SC dish traditionally made of leftover pieces of the pig. I did not get a liver or head cheese vibe, so it was probably made with leftover smoked meats. Hope to return soon!

I usually ride to Charleston to get my barbeque, but, True BBQ has changed that! You'll get good portions of everything and you can taste the " LOVE" in the food! Abd they have at least five(5) that will make the food " sing" to you and you can buy these sauces as well! They're only open from Thursday to Saturday AND I wish they were open every day!

This food was absolutely DELICIOUS! I am sad we didn't learn about this earlier. Do not hesitate to order from them. Absolutely best BBQ I've had in years!! Thank you guys so much!!

Don't let this small little roadside stand fool you, they know exactly what they're doing when it comes to barbecue! The brisket and ribs were cooked perfectly, the chicken had the most flavourful smokey taste and the pork barbecue was phenomenal. We had the green beans, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. All of which were so flavourful and delightful. The owner was also wonderful! Small mom and pop places like this make dining so much more fun and delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Hospitality is impeccable, the food is remarkable, and the lemonade and tea are great. 20/10. Would definitely recommend

The potato salad was sugary sweet and the barbecue rice gravy mixture - I wouldn’t feed to anyone. A wasted $20 dollars.

Good slow cooked traditional BBQ. Brisket broken, not slab. Ribs whole, untrimmed. Great True Daddy cinnamon BBQ sauce. Very friendly staff . I recommend!

I’m from The D and thought I’d give True Bar B Que ribs a try. The slab of ribs I got on August 5 was nothing I expected. They was cooked in oven the sauce was S$&))%#t not enough sauce to cover the bones and the 3 side I order scared to eat no love here Detroiter. Stay away.

I came to one of the best True BBQ. today June 4th 2020 I ordered full slab of ribs. They never disappoint always outstanding. I was told the brisket was fatty. Mine was fine not much fat. Great place dont miss this place on your visit to the "Redneck Rivera " myrtle beach..... update went back for another slab of ribs and brisket. I gave my dogs a taste of brisket and both looked at me and were thinking what the hell was that outstanding meat we ate. I agree. I refered to the lady working as sunshine. Because she does have some of the best bbq in town. Not everyone is a redneck. But this place stands out from all the others. Outstanding!!!

First time there...Had the pulled pork sandwich. It was great. Will be going back.

It's a shack. It has limited days and hours. Maybe you've driven by it a hundred times. And it is all carry out or delivery. But, you need to give them a try. The food is great, prices fair, portions generous, and the people are awesome. The pulled pork is great as is the chicken. They were out of brisket. The ribs are very meaty. I preferred mine a bit more grilled style but they are hard to find. Anyway, theirs had a very good smoked flavor. We sampled three sauces and all were very good. I will admit I've not been a fan of SC mustard based sauce but loved theirs. I thought the baked beans and green bean side could have used a little more attention but were still very good as was the Cole slaw. Hard working folks that do it right so stop by.

I’ve ate a lot of Beef Brisket in my life, this place has the absolute best! Great customer service, kind staff, no long wait also added with some good old southern hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning every time I visit the Myrtle Beach area.

So glad I stopped the food and service was great. I had the pulled chicken tried without sauce great, but the sauce takes it to the next level. Yum The owner was friendly and share information about the area, as I am looking to relocate to this area. I will be returning for sure.

I’m from Aiken County, and Carolina BBQ in New Ellenton was my favorite. Well I have a new favorite now, the flavor so rich and ribs, the meat falls off the bone. That potato salad taste so good, it will make you want to slap somebody. Wow can’t believe I’ve been here 5 years and just discovered it.

Seriously, this food is amazing.. we got lunch one day then ordered catering for a party the same week. Every dish is packed full of flavor and love!!! Not just the meats but also the sides and sauces each have a unique flavor - you can tell a lot of thought and love goes into this food! Some BBQ places just phone it in on the extras but not here... every single bite made my taste buds go "Hell Yes."

I drove by this place a lot. Decided to finally stop and try some barbecue because the word on this place was pretty positive. I love ribs so I ordered ribs and got mac n cheese and cole slaw for my sides. Right away, the nostrils were hit by the aroma of real barbecue. The ribs were excellent. All of the food was good. I tried their sweet sauce, pretty good on the ribs. I am glad I stopped.

Ordered their 2 meat meal, wanted ribs & brisket, they were out of brisket, so I got ribs & chicken & omg sooooo good, tender & juicy!! Would've rated 5 stars if they had brisket. Will definitely return on my next trip down here, with as good as the ribs & chicken are, I can't wait to try some of their brisket!!!

The name isn't a lie. I'm from GA, and living in the north for a few years has made me miss my hometown that had 3 great BBQ places in a 5 minute radius. The pulled pork, sauces, slaw, and fried okra made me feel at home again, and the sandy lot and shack just add to the experience.

I placed an order for takeout and it did not disappoint one bit. You get a TON of food for what you're paying for, however the price is a bit high, but it's worth every penny. Good meat, good sides, good sauce, that's a perfect BBQ spot in my book. Definitely recommend, this is probably the best BBQ in myrtle beach.

First off, oh my God, the food was amazing!!! I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with baked beans and rice and hash. Everything was seasoned and cooked with the loving hands of their ancestors. The kids devoured the mac's cheese, my girl ordered the ribs that was smoked to perfection. Do yourself a favor and order from this hidden gem.

We live in Tennessee now but we are from South Carolina and my son and his family went to Myrtle Beach this past week and stopped at your place and brought me home some rice and hash and it was the best, Tennessee doesn’t even know what hash is so we have to come to South Carolina to get it lol. Now I can’t wait to get to Myrtle Beach and get me some more hash, thank you so much it is delicious

Hidden gem located in a little shack on the side of the road!! The smoke in the meats is amazing and the choice of sauces are good!! The potato salad was delicious!!

There's a lot to like here besides the friendly owners... But I think once you try them y'all will come back. The BBQ was tender and seasoned well for my taste, as well as having an adequate amount of smokeyness. Paired with the sauces they offered puts them on par for the overall Google maps rating of 4.6 stars they currently have. The sides were very good especially the fried okra cooked up fresh, I was also pleasently surprised with the in house special rice dish they offered, which I don't recall the name of but it consisted of a sweet bbq pork mash over a bed of rice., Which happened to satisfy my sweet tooth also. Be prepared to wait a bit for your order but it's worth it 😋.

Realmente ordena en una ventana y no entra al edificio. Los únicos asientos son 2 mesas en el exterior. Comimos en las mesas. No tiene baños.

True BBQ in Socastee, SC near Market Common area is a small roadside mainly take home but does have a few picnic tables. The pulled chicken is my fav but we've never gotten anything from this place that wasn't just down right GOOD!

Always try to stop when in town. Love their Big Daddy sampler. Ribs, chicken, pork and brisket for 2 plus 2 sides and buns. Had the baked beans and potato salad this time. All were excellent as usual. Prices reasonable and service friendly and efficient. 6 different sauces to choose from - favorite is the Carolina Gold but others are good as well.

We had been meaning to try them for a while but just couldn't find the time. Now we know to make time because it was fantastic. It wasn't very busy when we went on a Saturday evening so we wish them the best of luck. The loaded fries were fresh cut fries loaded with pulled pork cheese and your choice of many delicious homemade BBQ sauces. I was full before the main course arrived. We chose to split a sampler of all there different meats which included some of the best brisket I've ever had as well as ribs chicken and more pulled pork. The sides were all homemade as well. We would definitely recommend this "true" BBQ joint!!!

We had been looking forward to visiting this establishment ever since we noticed the buffet advertised on its sign: $9.99 including dessert and beverage. Friends questioned how good it was because of the emptiness of its parking lot. But we surmised that we could not judge it by the mixed reviews; rather, we should try it. And so two friends went with us. The building was very nice. It was clean, spacious, and well-kept. We were greeted by a jovial gentleman, and a server conducted us to the table of our choosing. Three of us decided to try the buffet; our friend's spouse chose to order ribs from the menu. I chose a blackened chicken leg, a fried chicken leg, a barbecued breast of chicken, and some pulled pork (on which I poured some True BBQ baby sauce). I also had some okra and some cabbage. There were no ribs--curious for a rib joint! The chicken was okay, but not overwhelmingly delicious. The pulled pork assumed the taste of the BBQ sauce--not bad. The okra was sour-tasting, nasty flavoured. The boiled cabbage was boiled cabbage. My spouse told me not to get garlic bread; it was hard and virtually unchewable. On the second pass, I tried some pulled pork with True BBQ Daddy Original sauce. It was a step up in taste from the baby. I had some pasta salad; it tasted sharp, as though someone had mixed mustard with mayo--nasty! We finished off with a tiny piece of apple pie whose freshness was questionable. No ice cream was available with it. There was a single small piece of layer cake, as well, that was mostly frosting. In contrast, our friend had ribs she pronounced succulent along with soft fresh garlic bread. The potato salad side (not on the buffet) had that same sharp taste as the pasta salad. Our judgment was that the buffet seemed to be the repository of yesterday's leftovers. It was without question the poorest buffet we can remember having. If this restaurant survives, it will be amazing, and that is a pity, because the folks running it were really nice people! But Myrtle Beach has so many restaurants with good food at good prices (buffets included) that an eatery with a scantily-supplied buffet, few choices, and less than fresh and tasty foods is unlikely to make it.

Definitely great service. We were checked on throughout our dining experience and given an in depth lesson on the variety of barbq sauces. Beef brisket was tasty and had a smokehouse flavor. Another in our party enjoyed the pulled pork. Another wanted to try the pulled chicken but it was not ready. The buffet looked clean and appealing. We were there from 1 to 2p and 4 of the 12 folks that were in there tried it. All in all a pleasant experience. Just not necessarily on my radar for a return visit. Expect $12 a person..

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant while spending the weekend in Myrtle and it was the best thing that happened all weekend. I am generally really picky about my BBQ but the food here is incredible. Our server was fantastic and the pit master even came out to see how we liked the food. I'm not a big fan of Myrtle Beach but I'll swing by here again just to eat the food.

We were driving around looking for a place to eat with nothing catching our eye or sounding good. We saw this place , bar b que sounded good and it wasn't a chain store. Boy we're we lucky! The food here is excellent. We lived 22 years in south Texas, so we know good BBQ. This was some of the best we ever had. We did a sampler meal so got to have chicken, pork, brisket and ribs. Plus they make their own sauces-- 5 different sauces and a vinegar. They were all great on their own, but just as good mixing some to make one to taste. The sides were like homemade. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This is true BBQ without having been cooked in sauces. You add your own sauce to the delightful taste of smoked meat. The building is beautifully remodeled and clean.
