I came here for Taco Tuesday hoping to get some tasty, affordable tacos. Very disappointing; tacos were extremely small and virtually flavorless. The corn tortillas were not even warmed up, so it was pretty mucha raw taco with a small amount of unsalted meat filling (no veggies either). I definitely will not be returning here, as $3 was far too much for a taco at this place.

Traditional tamales & plantain plátano empanadas - ID say they’re made for Sharing since they were tapas sized Tamales - super combination and variety. Love them all. Would definitely return for the vegetarian variety Platanos - beautifully stuffed and cooked. Crema and extra cheese were a great additional.

For one of the most highly rated Mexican restaurants in Somerville, the food was disappointing. Mole Suave arrived watery and bland, an almost flavorless reflection of the picture of a rich creamy mole on the menu. The sopé was bite sized, and similarly lacking in attention. All of the salsas and rice and beans were flavorful, but let down by the main dishes.

We dined in at Tu Y Yo for the first time last night. With the exception of an unruly toddler who had a meltdown, everything else was really good. Chill laid back place. The staff were very attentive even while serving a fully packed restaurant. We had the fried plantains, corn on the cob, guacamole, and the salmon entree. We enjoyed all of them. Will definitely go back.

This is my go to restaurant whenever I feel like eating healthy food outside. Huge fan of their sauteed shrimp and salmon criolla. Drinks and dessert menu are very creatively designed. The service is quick and prices are reasonable. I have always seen this place at least half full in the evenings. Very popular among local people (including me). Highly recommend- veg tamales and empanadas for appetizers.

It's always disappointing to report a mediocre experience, but this place was really a below average restaurant disguised as a really good one. It seemed to hit all the marks, good reviews, great online pics of well presented food... Chips were great, Guacamole was ok, even perhaps good. But the vegetarian quesadilla app, was kind of a joke. More like an undercooked and underseasoned empanada. The rest of the meal was equally underwhelming, as was the service. The kicker was the $4 upcharge for a 2nd bowl of tortilla chips. Very nice people and a clean inviting space, but as a restaurant, way below the 4.6 star experience expected. Reviewers in Boston need to up their standards imo.

We've lived in this area for a few years and hadn't realized this place was around because it sits on a more quiet section outside of Davis. I/m embarrassed to say this was our first time trying Tu Y Yo but DAMN will we be back. We went on Cinco de Mayo around 9pm and snagged the last table in the place, and even then parties kept rolling in after our arrival. We got the carnitas plate and the Birria tacos.....dear lord. They were incredible, so much flavor and the meat was incredibly moist on both dishes. Also the rice and beans and chips & guac were great staples.
