Amazing food, cool ambiance in the alley, it may get a little packed for lunch. The family atmosphere serves up delicious and healthy food made from quality ingredients and reasonable prices. I strongly recommend you give it a try.

My wife and I were looking to have lunch our first day in L.A. She keeps vegetarian and a restaurant needs to offer options for that. The Tulip Café did that. It is in a unique little street off of 7th street and about a half block long. We looked at menus along the way and the Tulip Café was our choice. My wife had a platter of food with falafel which she said was very good. I had the Chicken Roma which was delicious. Both plates of food were more than anyone needs for a meal but we did it anyways. The woman who served us was very nice and was interested in where we travelled from. We would go back in a heartbeat. It is a small place and the food arrived very quick. Well worth it.

I recommend salmon & shrimp pasta and Chef special grilled fish. Good restaurant quality, I was surprised by good quality, big portion on such a good price! Also true Turkish coffee!

This place is a hidden gem in the Jewelry District like what the menu says. The food is great if you're feeling for some Mediterranean. I recommend the Meat Combo for you protein eating meatheads. The best part about this place is eating outdoor where it feels like you're somewhere in Europe.

Very tasty healthy food served by a wonderful staff. The room space is very intimate for a romantic touch. Seating is available off the street for a different enjoyable atmosphere.

The food here took me back to summer of 2008 when I visited Europe! Authentic taste! Huge portions and very reasonably priced! I couldn't stop eating...I wish I would've been more hungry! I will definitely be back! I had the Beef Gyro. - Rosemary

Its not always easy to find a nice and good restaurant for lunch down town LA because and searching a good place we went down the small street St Vincent street and they were several mostly con turkish food and we wait a while to have a free table on the terrasse of TULIP CAFE because the place was crauded and the clients seemed to be satisfied. We order to diferent plate of mediterranean / turkish food and we were very content for quality and quantity of the food, with also a friendly service at a regular price.

No wonder this place gets very busy during the lunch hours as the food is very tasty and wholesome. From bread to Turkish salad and the rest; everything we ordered was so delicious. Portions are extremely generous and satisfying too. Call me picky but the cons for me are: - no ayran (yoghurt drink) is sold - no charcoal grill as far as I could see this would have allowed for a smokey flavour incorporated into the meat enhancing the taste - tzatziki had mayo in it - please stick to yoghurt only Overall, I would highly recommend Tulip Cafe!

Tulip cafe, located in St Vincent court in the Jewelry district of Los Angeles is a precious asset. Look for the green and white striped awning at the exterior. Chef Kachin is a jovial and warm personality who made us feel most welcome. First we were served with a Mediteranean salad of tomatoes, onions and parsley. Our main course of salmon sitting on top of mussels and clams and cooked in wine, was yummy. The steak was topped with a cream sauce of mushroom and spinach - another treat!

Excellent food and large portions. I got the hummus appetizer and the falafel sandwich and it would have been enough for 2.

I used to work around the corner and thank goodness someone told me about this place. It is VERY VERY good!! I very much recommend it and honestly and surprise at the lack of reviews for it. Based on other Zagat ratings, Id put this at an easy 25-26, only pulling points because it is a small operation in a tucked away alley. The food is amazing! A friend of mine from Long Beach and I were having a conversation about where the BEST Persian food was and as we started describing it, we quickly realized we were telling each other about the same place. He described the food and facades on the neighboring businesses, while i was telling him about the parking lot and alley it was in. Funny moment. GO EAT THERE!!!!!

This little cafe is located on St. Vincent Court. At first glance, it appears to be an alley. But, instead, it is a cute little dead end street that looks like you would find in Europe. The Tulip Cafe is located at the end of the court. It is small with about 10 tables inside and a couple outside. The service is efficient and friendly and the food is delicious. I wanted falafel. The waitress recommended the grilled vegetable platter which had falafel plus very tasty grilled eggplant, zucchini, summer squash and tomato slices. Also included was a delicious hummus, salad consisting of chopped tomato, cucumber, red onion and white beans. Two pita breads, also. A ton of food for lunch! My husband had the gyro sandwich which he liked a great deal. However, after seeing some of the beautiful dishes coming out of the kitchen, he wished he'd tried one of their fish dishes. To me, a good sign that you are eating authentic food is when the other patrons are from that country. There were at least three parties there at lunch who were speaking Greek. Pretty good sign, if you ask me!

The place Needs a little cleaning. The food was so so, a little burned, needed more sauce and I didn't like that we were charged more than the price advertised, {nothing extra was requested}. Drink

The food is very good here. Especially Lamb loin chops. If you take the 2 nd side you can save money on salad.
