Got a Fried Chicken Pot Pie which was quite good. They have a 15% "automatic gratuity" which is a hidden price hike. Otherwise food would be worth 5 stars Waited about 45 minutes in line at noon on a Friday, food is quite good so understandable

Possibly the best burger we've ever had. The ham sandwich was also killer. Vibes were excellent- loved the nostalgic decor, the plates were old McDonalds souvenir plates, the salt and pepper shakers on hot wheels cars was adorable. Stoked on the community mindset and ability to pay it forward for meals. 10/10 recommend everything about this joint.

Turkey and the Wolf is all about personality—both in its sandwiches and its space. Tucked away in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, this spot feels like a reflection of the city itself—vibrant, eclectic, and full of character. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by funky art splashed across the walls, mismatched furniture, and a playful vibe that carries out to the cozy patio. The collard green melt steals the show—silky greens, crunchy slaw, and melted Swiss layered between slices of rye. It’s a sandwich as bold and quirky as the space it’s served in, making Turkey and the Wolf a spot where both the food and the atmosphere are unforgettable.

The fried pot pie stole the show! Perfectly fried and loads of flavor inside. Inside the shop is a fun experience with eclectic decor and really nice staff. The bologna sandwich was good but not as great as I was expecting. The bologna was overpowered by the dressing (but this may have been because I had a takeout order). Worth a visit when in NOLA!

Turkey and the Wolf 739 Jackson Ave, New Orleans, LA 70130 The last time I came to Turkey and the Wolf was many years ago. After going here today, it is still a solid 10/10, just how I remembered it! The collard green melt is to die for! And don't be sleeping on the fried bologna sandwich now! 1. collard green melt - 12.00 slow cooked collards, swiss cheese, pickled cherry pepper dressing, and coleslaw on toasted rye. (Favorite) 2. fried bologna 12.99 leighann's bologna, via's mom's hot mustard, potato chips, shrettuce, mayo, and american cheese on big toast. #Tonylameats #turkeyandthewolf #neworleansla #sandwichshop

The food was definitely worth the trip and the bad service. Most of the staff that was on the floor didn't seem to want to be there. A bit rude as well but the food was great. The atmosphere is fun. The seating is cramped and disjointed but I love the retro look and the feel of the place. Unique take on foods. Lots of cheesey saucey goodness. They have some vegan options but I mean, why do it to yourself. If you're vegan you're probably missing out. Food is made fresh. Fried bologna sandwich was surprising not greasy. It tasted a bit like a big Mac but better! The cabbage salad has jalapenos, sunflower seeds, some other tasty things but I didn't eat much of it because it also has anise... I hate anise but it was still tasty. Collard sandwich was yummy as well. The taste of the collards really comes through in a good way. Everything comes together like an acid trip in a McDonald's world but in a good way. If you are in the area (even if you are not) this is worth the trip. They also give free food to those in need, the only place I saw that does that during my visit to New Orleans. They have a fridge outside stocked with food for anyone that needs it to take. Support this local spot and it's community by eating really good food!

The bologna is thick and from a local butcher! The crinkle cut fries were cooked perfectly and salted well (most places undercook these type fries). Woah! What more can be said. Turkey and the Wolf has been on my list of restaurants to try in New Orleans since it was featured on the Netflix show Somebody feeds Phil. And I was not disappointed. Being vegetarian, I opted for the collar green melt. This is one of the most original sandwiches I've eaten. The only negative point I could point out is that it is a very rich and quite fatty sandwich; It took me several days to digest it but I don’t regret having been able to taste it. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the plates, which were all as original as the dishes they served.

Turkey and the Wolf does an exceptional job. With that said, I do think it is over hyped. Generally speaking, I felt like our salad and sandwiches were overdressed. Cut back 25% on the condiments, and it would have been much better. Also, the bologna sandwich, which generally is a good sandwich, felt a little on the thin side. Traditionally the great bologna sandwiches I've had consist of a thick slck of bologna and are fried up right. This on the other hand was thinner, more heavily dressed, and used super thick bread. Again, a solid sandwich, but it just didn't meet my expectations. For the price, its hard to beat the value. If you're going just for the reputation however, I think you might leave disappointed. Lastly, ambiance is laid back. Fun vibe though!

I visited this place intending to try out as many sandwiches as possible, as it was high on my list of priorities while in NOLA. We got there around 11 am, and although there was already a queue, it wasn't too long and moved quickly. I ordered a fried bologna, a collard green melt, and a ham sandwich. We decided to sit inside to soak in the nostalgic atmosphere. The service was impressively fast; we were served in less than 10 minutes. I started with the fried bologna sandwich, which, despite an overpowering taste of mustard, still allowed me to savor the crispy sausage and melted cheese. Then came the collard green melt sandwich, which offered a completely new flavor experience for me. It felt like a fluffy, indulgent treat, quite different from the first sandwich, making it hard to pick a favorite between the two. However, the ham sandwich didn't live up to the standard set by the first two. It was a bit disappointing and not in the same league. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit even if you're in or around the French Quarter.

15% gratuity is charged upfront on ALL items, no matter how many people you have in your party. Call me old-school, but the steps of service exist for a reason and an automatic 15% defeats the purpose of gratuity, especially at a restaurant where drinks are not refilled, you collect your own straws, utensils, and napkins, no one comes by to check on you, and others. The atmosphere is unique, especially for those that are into the mainstream hipster aesthetic (is it still hipster then?) where 80s, 90s, and 2000s memorabilia line the walls and make for great conversation pieces. In fact, my food was served on a well-used plastic ninja turtle plate. Besides that, the food is average, yet pricey. Why stop here and get a burger for $7.50 when you can go to truburger or Camellia grill, get a side with your burger, and actually be waited on? Likely one of those places in New Orleans that has become a hipster-hyped impostor.
