Umberto's is one of my go-to's for a really good Calzone! They have other great choices, but I'm all-in for a pepperoni, ham, and motazerella Calzone!!

Food is mehh , they put no effort in your carry out.Chicken in Alfredo was raw , pizza had about 24 cloves of garlic on it , soup smelled gross and old tasted even worse . $70 for a medium pizza , and two Alfredo’s . Way overpriced . Won’t be going back .

PLEASE DO NOT GO there unless you want great fresh pasta, outstanding Italian sauce. Had stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer… First rate. Seafood pasta for my wife she loved it plenty leftover to take home. I had stuffed ravioli with a side of sausage heavenly. this is a small independent local establishment. Don’t expect elaborate decor. But it’s clean and orderly a pleasant place to be. Give them a try. It was our first visit and will be back.

I've never eaten inside the restaurant. But I drove around all of Pinellas county for 15 years for work, and tried every place that said it was like New York Pizza I'm originally from just outside of New York City and none of them was like New York Pizza except Umberto's period for anyone reading this wanting New York style pizza this is your place don't waste your time going anywhere else

We adore Umbertos! The food is so good! We have ordered from them for years. And it has consistently been wonderful! Real Italian food, home made right here in Pinellas county. We order it on Uber eats and they have always gotten our order perfect. Right down to the bread, they never forget anything! And you're going to feel like you've stepped right back into your Nona's kitchen because the food is so good! Try the snowball meatballs, artichoke hearts, eggplant rollatini, stuffed shells, even the bread...all of it! Simply Delicious! The restaurant itself is very humble. We have dined in before, but we prefer to get take away. However, you could certainly bring your family here for a sit down meal. The establishment is very clean. You just gotta try them! Either for take out or a sit down, I promise you're going to want to go again.

Our party of four had appetizers of meatballs and escarole (using crusty bread to dip); both were excellent. At Italian restaurants, I almost always elect linguine with meatballs and sausage (hand me that tablespoon for twirling, please) with a Chianti, and did here. The linguine was al dente (thumbs up) and the meatless sauce had a nice touch of sweetness. I had been to Umberto's more than once and this same main that I ordered does on its own drive me to be the repeat customer. Also, the other three in my party were delighted with their chicken parm, eggplant parm, and fettucini alfredo. Lastly, get there early (no later than 5 PM) if you can; seating is tight and fills up fast; you'll also probably get shut out on restaurant parking.

Pat and his crew have the best Italian food in Pinellas. I drive from St Pete to eat there. I’ve never had a bad meal at Umberto’s. You won’t regret make plans to eat there.

Haven’t even left yet, but wanted to express how delicious everything was. I am an Italian woman who never eats Italian. I know, I know, that’s crazy. I decided to try the chicken and eggplant parm. Omg it was delicious! I have to take half home because it is so big. I normally finish all my food, and everyone else’s, just sayin 😂 My husband is a calzone connoisseur, and said his calzone was the best ever! He did ask for 70/30 ricotta and they delivered. We ordered cannolis to go.

Umberto's is our go-to for authentic Italian. The owners are from Italy, Naples, I believe. It's also our go-to for pizza! Their pizza sauce is top-notch.

Delicious food and awesome service. Will definitely be back as regulars. We pass about 50 pizza places to get here from our home. Well worth it.

Arrived a few minutes after two pm. Friday 5/17, waited around 30 minutes, part of the crust was blackened due to overcooking. Had requested extra sauce, that didn't happen and there was almost no cheese on my 23.00 dollar pizza. Very disappointed. Wasn't able to express my disappointment, was told they were understaffed. Won't be returning.

A place that actually knows how to make NY style pizza. The calzone is also good. Stop complaining and go to Umberto.

The NY style pizza is excellent. Thin crust maintains shape when you fold and eat. Sauce, dough, cheese all high quality. If you know what NY STYLE pizza is supposed to taste you'll be right at home here. Excellent calzone too.

Amazing experience everytime at this establishment. Amazing food and friendly staff make this little place a must dine experience. It is a bit cramped but the food is consistently good and the service is great.

I’m from New York. I have lived in safety harbor/Dunedin most of my life but all my family lives all over New York. I have struggled to find pizza here. Finallllllly I found Umbertos and I’m so frustrated I haven’t sooner. Everything about it the people the atmosphere and the food!!! Amazing 🤩

They charge Xtra for sauce for the Calzone?? It's always come with a side of marinara everywhere else I've been, even in Long Island. I will say, the sauce on Tuesday was better than on Thursday. The pizza was excellent. Miss Tony.

The meatballs are absolutely delicious. Very attentive service. Along with a comfortable atmosphere makes this a place I will frequently turn to for my pasta cravings.

I've lived in Tampa for the past 25 years and have been in the Dunedin area so many times since moving down from Long Island NY, but didn't know about this place until recently. The original Umberto's is in New Hyde Park, Long Island NY, which is 10 minutes from where I grew up. One of the brothers moved to Dunedin back in the early 70's and opened this restaurant. The current owners since 1986 told me that they use the same recipes for pizza and most other dishes. Anyway.... my wife and I go over that way frequently and often get pizza to bring back home. Need to heat up some slices at the house, but it's still some of the best pizza I've found in the Tampa Bay area since moving here. Excellent ratio of sauce and cheese with high quality ingredients. So many places say NY style pizza, but the owners are not even from the NY Tri-state area and probably have never even tasted real NY pizza. They usually put so much cheese that it's like chewing bubble gum until your jaw hurts. Real NY pizza is thiner and lighter on the sauce and cheese. You gotta be able to do "The Fold". Tried the Sicilian today and it was outstanding! I highly recommend this place. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area. You'll be glad ya did.

Excellent quality and portions.

It was our last night before heading back home and figured we would just walk to this restaurant since it’s so close . The staff was a very friendly and the food was excellent. We were glad we tried it.

First time here. It was crammed! I felt like a sardine in a box. This place is very small but busy. The food was pretty good, but very pricey. I got a 16"pizza with spinach and tomatoes for $20. We didnt get a pizza tower so the pizza pan took up a lot of table space. Seemed odd they didn't offer one. The portions seemed large, which is good. Parking looked very packed as well. I'm on the fence with this place. Service was okay...we had to ask for bread. You know the bread that comes out while you look over the menu?

Moved near here about 4 months ago and have been curious. We ordered take -out and tried 3 menu items, I can say I'm excited to try more! The staff was friendly and quick, my food was food hot, yummy and I feel like the portions were generous.

Severe gastritis from over acidic marinara sauce. I tried to rectify things 2 times today. They didn’t care. I ordered from Joeys in Srabreeze plaza. So nice great food and great attitude. Bizarre how New Yorkers praise this place as being incredible and the next review makes it sound like a soup kitchen in a war zone. Went there for Valentines Day. Place was packed but we were sat immediately and food arrived very quickly. Veal Marsala was outstanding, Chicken Parm was best my wife has ever had and she is super picky about Chicken Parm. Very clean throughout and service was warm, genuine and very good. When you see all the locals going there and they are the oldest Italian Restaurant in Dunedin.....you can't go wrong. Prices very reasonable and portions are large. It's not a 5 STAR Michelin Restaurant but easily the most enjoyable Mom and Pop place in Dunedin. Parking is a rubicon of white knuckled gamemanship but it can be done. :-) Trying the pizza for 1st time tonight. Lots of terrible Pizza places in Dunedin but if they beat out Madison Avenue or Tony's.....they win the title.

Good food. Not awesome but pretty good. We’d come back. Bread could be fresher and warm - May need to add some salt to the food. But overall it was good. A bit pricey.

I ordered a take out in the store, I use my debit card, pay the man, he finishes the the the transaction, tells me it will be ready shortly, and proceeds to make the pizza. HE NEVER WASHED HIS HANDS!!! That's gross, touching my card, his computer terminal, and not washing his hands. It disgusted me. I expect that at some fast food places but not there. Anyway pizza not bad, had it before, it's consistent. I still say go ahead and order but ask them to be a little more cleaner that's all. I didn't speak up then, but writing this review.

Dinner sauce acid tasting couldn't get veg instead of posta. My Italian restaurant in coral springs Florida sauce 😋 👌 and can get veg no extra charge. Food just ok. Noisy.

Quite pricey for the atmosphere to be honest. Meatballs did not taste homemade at all. Overall, great service but not very authentic Italian food.

Pizza was much better than most local places. We're from the Boston and New Haven areas and very picky about our pizza and have tried some of the recommended places. But this pizza was the best so far. The Chicken Picatta was also very good.

Extras like Coffee and wine made our meal a little expensive but food was very good. Will return for the pizza.

We ordered trays of baked ziti, chicken parm, meatballs, salad and garlic knots for Christmas ! The food was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it all, especially the chicken parm ♥️

This is a real old fashion style Italian restaurant with great service and the food is excellent. They now have a better wine list and we will continue to go back to try some other food on the menu. Generous portions!

WORST RESTAURANT EVER!!!! First of all we called to order take out & you can barely hear the guy taking your order and he lied to us and said they didn’t have garlic knots & they were added to our order and we paid for them without even knowing! When I walked in the door, there was 2 people waiting for their order by the door and I walked literally up to the counter and wasn’t even greeted right away. The two men working behind the counter couldn’t even say a quick hello or I’ll be right with you. That was unprofessional and rude! I asked for an extra marinara and they totally freaked out on me and wouldn’t give me another one unless I paid for it. I just paid $70 for a pizza, calzone, garlic bread, and the surprise garlic knots. Usually pizza places will give you a marinara for each side. I got one! I walked out very disappointed. The food was not even that good either! The calzone was soggy on the bottom, and watery which is gross! The $30 Sicilian pizza barely had any cheese on it and when you take a bite, the cheese comes off with it! The bread was just ok. I do not suggest this place and will never be going back! Overpriced & rude staff! And I will add I never really leave reviews but this made me so mad I wanted others to know before trying and to save your money!

Ordered for the first time through Grubhub. Delivery time was changed and they added an additional hour for arrival but the pizza was ice cold when it arrived. I ordered 2 16” pizzas that were each $27.95. One of them was supposed to have sausage and pepperoni. I literally couldn’t find more than ONE piece of meat on each slice. One tiny thin piece of pepperoni or one tiny little piece of sausage. Unbelievable for the price! Save your money and order from Villa Italia! Much better quality and prices!

I don't think I've ever had a better ham and cheese sandwich. The bread really sold it for me, perfectly (not too) crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meats and cheeses they use are also of high quality. Their meatball sandwiches and pizzas are just as good. I highly recommend this place, the prices are very affordable.

The pizza is timeless for me. For me growing up on Long Island NY. I knew when I took my first bite, I was transended home where pizza can't be matched. I look forward eating again at Umberto's of Long Island.

Delicious homemade pizza , absolutely 5 stars. Hubby from Long Island this is one of the few Tampa area pizza place he approves of. We ordered baked clams , which my husband loved & split a pizza which had the best sauce & baked to perfection! Desserts were cheesecake & taramiso - all fresh ! The decor has been recently updated - so cozy but not cramped. Dimly lit but not cave-like, sparkling clean & shiny. Our server Mena was attentive & welcoming. It's a little off the beaten path but worth it! Go there for an intimate date night or grab a pie to go

I didn't try the pizza, lesson learned! It looked better than my meal. Everywhere in Florida it's NY Pizza, NY tacos, NY Chinese ughhh. Do Florida style & make it GOOD, Please. The food was okay but the chicken Sorrentino was lacking. The chicken cutlet was too thick, the chicken needed seasoning & the sauce was a red sauce instead of the typical orange sauce. If the cutlet were seasoned & Thinner, the rest could have been forgiven. The wait staff was unfriendly & inattentive. One needed to get their attention & ask for everything. My Floridian friends liked it but I was a bit disappointed.

We were there for a Meetup get together and the food was very good. Some folks had pizza and others did pasta. No one was complaining and the table got quiet because we were enjoying the food. Service was great and I was able to bring my own wine with a corkage fee. Going back again!

I did a pickup order of manicotti and eggplant fries. The food was very good. This place is pretty busy all the time so the freshness is always good. Keep in mind they're only open from 5 p.m. till 9 pm. Always check online with the proper times are during the week.

Our go to place for Italian and pizza! It's not fancy and is tiny inside so get there early. The staff is super experienced and great at what they do. The food is outstanding and the pizza rivals that found up in the northeast US. Actually the best pizza I've had in Pinellas County!

The food is as close if not spot on to the places back in New York City... the baked clams are 10 out of 10

Rude staff. Dirty looks from all workers as soon as I walked in the door. Ok pizza. Nowhere near as good as New York pizza. My only complaint is that as soon as you pick up the slice, all the toppings and cheese slide right off the pizza!!!!!!! New York pizza doesn’t do that!!! If you’re a New Yorker and you know good pizza I would not recommend going here.

Great food! Was a little disappointed the calzone did not come with marinara sauce you have to order it separately. The calzone was great by itself. It actually did not need the marinara sauce after all! Incredible tasting food!!!

A neighborhood Italian restaurant with great food and pizza. There's a $20 corkage fee if you want to bring your own wine but their list is extensive. I ordered the mussels and they were fantastic. Some other folks got the chicken parm and they swear by how great it is. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with anything there. Great place

This is an update on our latest visit. I ordered garlic knots. They are usually very good. This time they were burnt. The main meal of lasagna was excellent. The service needs help. Drinks came out inconsistently. Plates were thrown down. The desserts seem like they are store bought. I hate giving bad reviews but Umbertos let me down this time!

Okay friends the establishment is in a bad spot with parking issues at all hours of the day. 4 spots in the front, and what they did is take the drive way that leave to the back and add parking slots which is bad because it creates a bottleneck. In addition there is 4 more parking spots back by the fence making it difficult to park and get out. Once inside we were seated and waited 10min to be served. The food is good, my wife ordered the Penne alla Vodka. The dish was good, tip this establishment should try grilled chicken cut into smaller pieces. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and the dish was great. I would suggest that dish. We also ordered the Cannoli is amazing, we also tried the Cheese cake it was amazing. Over the dining experience was good, the food was good, the service was ok could be better.

If you enjoy Time Travel, hit this place for that "70's Real food taste"! You will not find a marinara sauce like it unless you hit the Umberto's in a long island itself.... I go every chance I get!

Authentic NY pizzeria restaurant restaurant. Friday night was pretty busy, but got seated within 10 minutes and service was great! Baked clams were delicious! Can't wait to go back

It's not much of an environment to sit down and eat in, but the pizza is great. Very good dough with the right chew. And fresh, tasty ingredients with real flavorful sauce. I'm not even that much of a fan of NY style pizza (I'm European, so I like individual sized "specialty" pizza better) but I have to say I like Umberto's pizza a lot.

We dine here frequently. The food is delicious, especially the Eggplant & Chicken Parm. The Snow Balls are delicious too, as the bread. The Umberto Special Pizza is "da bomb". Mina is s sweetheart, great waitress.

All I can say is it's the best I ever had

It's true; you can't judge a book by it's cover. First time dining here and my wife and I were very pleased with our meal. Well prepared delicious Italian food. We had chicken picatta, eggplant rolatini, escarole and artichoke hearts topped off with some chocolate cake which we shared. Glad to have found this little gem of a restaurant. We will return.

Well it took us years to finally make here. . .I'd be surprised if it takes us more than a week before we come back. Small restaurant tucked away in a nice neighborhood. Parking is limited. Service was friendly and quick. Started with the Escarole and it was delicious. Good size portion, enough for two to share. Moved on to the Garlic knots and sauce. . . these were fresh! not frozen. Lite bites of heaven. Crispy on the outside and light and nearly fluffy inside. Eggplant parm was lightly breaded with an egg wash and not salty. Served with pasta and sauce. Stuffed shells were very good, although a tad over cooked for my preference. But, I'd definitely consider getting them again. Topped off the meal with a shared slice of Lemoncello cake with fresh whipped cream. Hubby said, "dishes tasted like his mom and aunt's used to make & I'd come back". Winner, winner.
