Decent pizza. Bready crust. Probably the best one for lunch because they do slices.

Also great for kid's birthday parties. Especially for special kids.

Uncle Joe's is a hidden gem. It's so low key that you can pass right by it. The pizza is great and they have some wild options to choose from as well. Even though they have done in, it's better to do take out or delivery.

I've been getting the Italian Baked Subs from Uncle Joes for 30 years and they're great. I also pick up pizza slices on a regular basis but the Meatball (and Italian) "Hoagie" leaves a lot to be desired. We've been wanting to find a place to get a good meatball sandwich. We ordered the Meatball sub (didn't look at the menu when ordered so didn't realize it would be rolled into pizza dough) a month ago and it was good but wanted a meatball sandwich on bread. Last night we ordered the Hoagie and it was awful!! The menu says it's fresh made bread so we assumed a french roll, it was not. Turns out it's a half-circle of dough that was cooked until it was burnt making it hard. The meatballs inside were smashed down into a pile of crumbles that were dry. There was very little marinara so the entire thing was hard and dry. Husband only took a few bites and threw it away. The Italian hoagie was the same, bread burnt and crunchy. The only saving grace was the tomatoes and dressing which gave it some moisture. As mentioned, I've been ordering from Uncle Joes for three decades so it pains me to submit a bad review, but want to give a heads up to others about this specific item.

good pizza. the hostess is outstanding. other times when I've ordered pickup, the experience was decidedly less positive. unpleasant, witless cashiers. Dine-in, though, is great!

Great atmosphere, good for small and large family’s, was told 45 minute wait it wasn’t to long on my visit on the weekend, they gave pitchers of water right away (without asking) and kept them full for us which was great. Ordered a cheese pizza, which was great, hot and had garlic seasoning and good crust, it tasted like a Walmart frozen pizza you cook at home minus the seasonings on crust though so I don’t think it was worth it for that but the garlic cheese bread was unique and nice flavors imbedded into it.

I came in for dine in and i was greeted very nicely and they were super fast to get my order, they had a good selection of beers too and the pizza was excellent. it was cooked very nicely and the toppings were very good spaced and everything. The cooks were super cool and they looked like they were having a lot of fun in there, all in all its a great atmosphere.

Was not a vibe my guys, spartan pizza is a better choice.

Why is the Old Seward UJ better than the Jewel Lake UJ? It's a little blander at Jewel Lake. Do they go lighter on the seasoning there? Old Seward competes with Moose's Tooth for flavor in my opinion. But looks like someone tried to break down the door and window.

Excellent pizza. And they deliver up Rabbit Creek which the chain delivery pizza places won’t do. Kids are always a fan of Uncle Joes.

This place hits the mark in every category. We were greeted warmly, seated and serviced quickly, and the atmosphere was perfectly buzzing with a cozy hometown feel. We enjoyed one of the freshest spinach salads I've had in town and a delicious Supreme Hawaiian pizza. Great beer options on tap and great service all around.

I think we found a winner in Uncle Joes. Went back recently, ordered our favorite Meatball Stromboni, did not come out as usual or expected, no questions asked, they replaced it with a new one. I’ve lived in south anchorage for 30+ years. Their pizza used to be so bland honestly it sucked. Not sure exactly when they changed things but it’s so good now. Some of the best in town. We order it at least once a week and never disappointed.

I stand by this adamantly...it's the best pizza in town. It just is. You aren't going to get mashed potatoes and thai peanut sauce like Moose's Tooth, and thank God for that. You're going to get real, unadulterated, handmade pizza prepared in the classic hot-blooded Italian fashion by superstars who deliver it hot and bothered on the backs of unicorns within minutes. Okay, all that except the unicorns, but still...It's the best; it just is.

This place is a gem! From the moment you walk in. The Italian Stromboli is the best!! Can’t wait to go back and taste another meal! A must if you haven’t been there yet or place you can always go back to. Our server Rachel was great as well as the staff we met! ♥️⭐️♥️⭐️

Excited for our first pizza in the USA Oh dear !! Menu looked good but such a shame My meatball marinara had ground beef , no visable balls , the same for the rest , toppings were very poor in quantity and quality No taste to the pizza at all So wanted it to be great €180 later with wine and salads for 3 Wine was excellent though

Stopped by to order a pizza, stayed, then took it to go. Wished that had a way to let people know their pizza is done as they sit in their car waiting. I was right outside the front door.

We had a party for our high school graduate tonight. The party room was perfect. We ordered a variety of food; it was all prepared right on time and tasty as usual. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our large rambunctious group.

I understand they we under staffed, but that's not really an excuse for getting my pizza and wings wrong. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger pizza, and medium wings, I got a vegetarian pizza and hot wings.

Uncle Joe’s is a wonderful local pizza place. One of the best local places in our opinion their delivery is super fast. Prices are reasonable and this location even has an arcade for the kids. During the day you can buy pizza by the slice which is nice.

My favorite pizza place that doesn’t take forever to get into. Also, I prefer the establishment in Old Seward. Friendly, and service is great! 😊My favorite Caesar Salad 🥗! Oh, cinnamon sticks with frosting…yum!

Pizza was very good but the salad with probably the best blue cheese dressing I've ever tasted really caught me off guard! I ate all my salad before I even considered picking up my slice of pizza...which was also good. The salad was well constructed and large.....but that blue cheese dressing was just....fantastic!!!!

Favorite pizza place on southside

Floppy mooshy tasteless pizza. The service was slow as a snail and the place wasn't even busy. Dominoes is even better than this. I was annoyed I had to even pay for it. The place would go out of business in a week on the east coast.

The lasagna took a while but since it was housemade thats understandable. It was worth the wait though. The portion was just enough for my husband and I with a salad. Unlimited fountain drinks!.

The call center sucks since it's out of state but the pizza is so good.

Walked in about 5pm or so, place wasn't busy only 1 family sitting in a booth. We were handed menus and told to sit wherever we wanted. Sat down, in over 10 mins, nobody ever came over, waiters and waitress walked by many times, never said a word. Delivered food to the booth next to us and cleaned the booth on the other side of us, still not a word spoken to us. wife finally got up and walked to the bar and asked if we could order, waitress said yes, walked toward us and then went to the booth next to us and wiped it down, walked away, still not one word from anyone, no questions about drinks, nothing. She walked away and talked to the other guy that was working there, so thought he was coming over..nope-nothing. Decided we had enough and started putting on our coats and got up to walk out, nobody said anything still. Wife talked to the manager on the way out. I could see if they were busy, but we were the only family there besides one other. Went to get pizza elsewhere- probably will not be going back for a while.

Uncle Joe's is an AWESOME place for pizza. You can eat it there, take it home, or the best way is to have them make it and you take it home and bake it....then it is absolutely hot and tasty! Seriously great pizza and bread sticks!

Omg, the lasagna! First time here. The service was fantastic. The food was spectacular. Had the lasagna and Italian sub Stromboli. Would highly recommend both! Only complaint, and it’s minuscule, is I did t like the flavor of their ranch dressing (for the mozzarella sticks). Will definitely be back!

Very busy yet very good and worth the wait

Very busy, thus very popular. But calling in an order 20 minutes early and arriving to be told it would be another 15 minutes seems to be a bit on the long side for 2 plain pizzas. (That were delicious...)

This place came highly recommended and I was so glad it did. The 10-inch pepperoni was so delicious and a good portion for two but I was able to handle it by myself with little guilt. Not much of a wait and they brought it to my car. Great service and really good pizza!👍

There is a lot of phenomenal pizza in town, but Uncle Joe's is my personal favorite. Every pizza place has a 'Hawaiian' pizza, but only Uncle Joe's has the 'Big Islander'. Being a Big Islander myself, I can confirm their B.I. is pretty damn good and the closest thing to what "Hawaiian" pizza should be.

I called to order a pizza tonight and the call menu was very sketchy. It sounded like a scam call center when the individual on the other end of the line picked up. I called three locations and got similar suspicious, non-genuine sounding individuals take my calls. They all had the same script-like responses and it sounded more like an outsourced IT-related call. It was so suspicious, I never got to the payment section because I was worried that the call line had been taken over or something of that nature. On the third call, I asked if something had changed about the call menu and if it had been outsourced. The person on the line said they were now taking calls in the back of the restaurant. This was weird, so I hung up. I came into the physical location and asked the waitress if the call line had been outsourced. She confirmed that it had been. This is really weird, I’m not sure if I’m comfortable ordering pizza over the phone now. Ordering pizza through an outsourced call center is a very strange feeling. Also doesn’t feel like I’m supporting local. Pizza was super delicious though.

A South Anchorage dining institution. Great pizzas! But, don't sleep on their pasta dishes. Their thin crust garlic bread always a nice add on. They have a lot of take out biz, in addition to dining in. I saw a good number of people just getting a slice or two.

Nice clean table and the place wasn't too busy. It's my kids favorite pizza in town so we order from one uncle joes or another probably two or three times a month. This time we ate in and it was the same good quality pizza we have grown go expect. Plenty of staff working and the food came out quickly. Wait staff was hard to find and we were never offered the refills on our drinks. For the price however is pretty high. It's not a cheap dinner at all. But the pizza is pretty good and I will continue to order from them for a while.

Food is good but they get the orders wrong A LOT. Little things. Like no olives, or add chicken. Those are the most recent items. We slowed down how much we order from them quite a bit. Not because the food isn't good but because I was tired of paying for things that weren't correct.

The pizza here is great, but jesus the price is not it. It used to be reasonable, but $50 for two med pizzas?? That aint it.

It's 943 sign and online says they close at 11. One girl with a huge neck tattoo says we close at 10. Another girl says no we close the restaurant at 11. I said ok it's 941 at the time. "OH we close a half hour before that" dunno what is going on but apparently they don't sit past 930. Hard pass rude and unprofessional. Headed down the street to a more friendly place

Note: this was a delivery. I could see the food being slightly better in the restaurant, but what we received was an abomination. Our food was over an hour late from their estimated delivery time, which was 1 hour after we ordered. The pizza was hard, like they sent us yesterday's pizza which had been sitting in the alleyway. You could probably find tastier food in the alley. The crust was inedible, essentially cardboard. The flavor was like the cheapest pepperoni pizza that you could get at the worst gas station. We also ordered a spaghetti and meatballs which was rather bland aside from the meatballs, but it came with two charcoal briquettes that were supposed to be garlic bread. I am not kidding, these things were burnt black all over. Total bill was about $55. Complete waste of money. Do yourself a favor and order from literally anyone else.

Just Great. I sat in their clean and comfortable restaurant with a cold glass of Alaskan brewed 🍺. They have seventeen beers to choose from, a number being brewed locally. Ordered two Custom Pizzas 🍕 to take away. The pizzas were exceptionally good. Service was bright and cheerful, just like the restaurant itself. Everyone I met here was very nice, courteous and cheerful. It's nice to be in a restaurant or any workplace where Every employee is smiling.

Came inside to place an order. Waited for about 2 and half minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence to place an order. With 4 people looking up at me at different times, no one said a word to me😔

Good pizza. Quick delivery. You cant only order Ben and Jerry's but I get it. The street dog pizza is awesome but so are all the pizzas. The cinnamon bread sticks are a great desert. Salads are usually fresh. The old Seward location has a nice open seating area and cool pizza shaped bike racks for people who choose to bicycle over.

My favorite PIE in Anchorage! Service is on point! Been a stapple of mine since 1993.

Just one of the best pizzas around and there are a lot of great ones in Anchorage. This has become our go too. With gluten free crusts and dairy free cheeses, my wife and I can get just what we want! Great atmosphere and place where we dine in and take out. Love Uncle Joe's!!!

Great Pizza, Great service, and the largest variety of pizza on the menu that I have ever seen, and they have other great food options like wings, calzones and much more. I visited the one by O'Malley and Old Seward. I enjoyed everything!
