Very disappointing... We had heard good things... Food was bland and unappealing. There are so many other options of chicken shawarma in Montclair - all are better. The one upside was the hummus, which was outstanding, and some of the best I've had in Montclair.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I came on father’s day with my family and we have been waiting 20 minutes for a drink. Another waitress came out to take our order and we asked about our drinks. She was very rude to us and didn’t serve us. She said “no you’re not getting drinks here” because we didn’t order food as if we are not dine in customers. The customer service is TERRIBLE and i do not recommend. Just go to the brunch place next door (Toast) .

Love this little eatery for Lebanese/French and Moroccan dishes. • If you’re omnivorous, I recommend the Beef Shawarma sandwich. •Vegetarian I would recommend the Babaganoush and Tunisian eggs. • Drinks, hot mint tea or iced Moroccan cappuccino. Excellent Mediterranean food. A bit understaffed but very friendly.

A real gem! The 25 minute drive was well worth it - outstanding food and great service. We had labneh, chicken, and lamb - the sides were as outstanding as the mains dishes. It’s fun to watch the light as air bread being baked real time - out of the oven and right to your table. This place is a find and we will be back!

Place was quaint and different from every other place you go to which we enjoyed. Not many options for kids other than the brunch menu, but my family was okay with the “pitzahs” as an option the kids loved the charred taste. Food was fresh and beautiful. My only complaint is that the tables are too small (we were a group of 4). Other than that love this place!

Highly recommend Uncle Momo! We stumbled upon it today and were very happy that we decided to try it out for Sunday Brunch. One of the best meals we had out in a long time. We will come back!

12/24/23 Hubby and I decided to try something completely different for Christmas Eve dinner and it was delicious! Rahib (eggplant) - OMG this was delicious! I can eat this all day long! Foul (fava bean) - hubby loved it. The beans are too hard for me, but the flavor was good Chicken Tajine - oh so good! The preserved lemon is interesting and gives the chicken some zest Branzino - they fillet it for hubby and was tender and very well seasoned. The spinach was very well seasoned, usually it's just bland but this was delicious! Karcade Hibiscus Flower - lightly sweetened and refreshing Mint Tea - hubby enjoyed it but it tasted like toothpaste to me :( Service was good, our waitress was attentive and helpful. The restaurant was small and cute but a bit dark for me. I had to turn on my cellphone light to read the menu.

Me and my family come back almost every Friday for take out night to get the ouzo rice. This restaurant is super clean, the staff are super warm and welcoming and the dishes are delicious. Definitely recommend, one of my favorite places in Montclair.

Tasty dishes, love their Zaatar flat bread and side dishes/appetizers, wish they opened a location closer to where I live - quick & healthy options, friendly service, cute bistro atmosphere...planning a larger dinner with my family for a special occasion soon :)

Absolutely love Uncle Momo's. The chicken shawarma plate, moussaka, and lamb tagine are some of my favorite foods to eat anywhere.

I’ve only gotten take out from Uncle Momo’s, but had to share that the food is incredible. So flavorful and delicious. They have also catered some events I’ve been to and the food is always top notch. Looking forward to trying their brunch next.

It’s a sweet little place. Delicious home made foods, freshly baked puffy pita, nice calm interior that’s not loud or noisy. We’ve been going for years.

We ordered the seafood pitza (pizza on pita bread) and salad...absolutely delicious that we ordered a second pitza. The pitza is very thin. The hibiscus is very light and refreshing. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. I went during the week for lunch, so not a large crowd. I definitely will return and bring others.

Uncle Momo has been around forever, and we have been eating there, intermittently, forever. The menu has evolved since my previous (2016) review. The lamb tajine, while still delicious, is a lot sweeter than previously, and there are no accompanying vegetables. Also, the moussaka is nothing like any moussaka you would order in a Greek restaurant. This one is a mix of ground lamb and chopped eggplant in a tomato-based sauce -- very tasty, but quite different from my concept of moussaka. Rahib and Moutabal Beets are excellent appetizers. They now take reservations, and you should make one, especially on weekends, because the place fills up fast. Also open for scrumptious breakfasts and lunches. BYOB. Metered parking on street.

It's a quaint little restaurant, service was pretty good they were friendly and welcoming. However they lost Stars on the price and the food. We arrived to Uncle Momo on a rainy Saturday night. The ambiance was comfortable and friendly, it was pleasant but the restaurant was visibly dingy and drafty. Kitsch toys and ads from French colonial Lebanon stared unwittingly at us as we sat near a cold window. The servers were l friendly and the menu, featuring southern Levant fare, had a decent selection, but nothing could have prepared us for the disaster that was about to arrive to our table. The appetizers, including the Rahib, were served straight out of the refridgerator, and one of the ingredients Majadara tasted like it had gone bad. Then, the tajine came, and it came without couscous or vegetables, instead it came in an oversalted yellow sauce with sad canned olives and salty rice. We also orderd lamb sausages in pomegranate sauce, which was terribly sweet and awfully dry. They also served french fries with the meal, which no self-respecting restaurant should ever do, unless it’s a fast food joint. Every dish was sold for skyline prices with bodega quality. Unfortunately, the pita was the best part of the meal. Not a single staff member was Lebanese and it was clear that the chef had left the kitchen many many years ago. This is self evident when a hungry diner tastes the food. Will never come back and would advise others not to go until Uncle Momo does some serious self reflection on the quality of his cuisine.
