Food is great and the owner/staff is super friendly.

Exceptional sandwich shop. I stopped in here with my family for a quick lunch and we were instantly greeted kindly. We all took a few glances at the huge menu with some phenomenal choices and ordered. The food was amazing, fresh bread, delicious ingredients, and the pastrami and swiss panini was life-changing. Will absolutely be coming back!

My Fiancee and I had lunch here today. We got there at about 11:30 at Union Jacks this place gets to be very busy considering that we were fourth in line. But when we were about to placed our order I saw the line behind us grow to 6-7 people in line. From the counter to the entrance door. So my advice to you all to either get there when they open or call and order ahead. My fiancee had the Fish and Chips along with a large side order of Fried Pickles. I had a Pastrami and Swiss Panini style on jalapeno bread. My side order was a large order of onion rings. We ate our food there and it was brought out to us at our table and you could see the steam coming off our food. I really enjoyed seeing Union Jacks staff knowing their "regulars" of what they want to eat or just seeing on how their well being. Union Jacks has been in the same place for the last 26 years and still going strong!

I heard they have then best fish & chips which I have to try next time I come back. They prefer cash for payment. You can also call ahead your order to save you time.

The food was ok but the attitude of the owner was not. They got my sadwich wrong but I told them I was happy to take it, then they started to say I ordered wrong, it was a 3 item sandwich so not complicated but apparently similar to a stock sandwich they sell, I told them what I had ordered once more and that i didnt know I was sposed to order a stock sandwich. Well then they didnt give me the sandwich and insisted on putting it right which would have been ok too had they not kept banging on about what they thought I ordered. In the end they got super sarcastic and as we left the owner shouted out to us THANK YOU and something else I didnt hear fully, it was obvious he was been rude. The sandwich was not bad, it was I would say average. I would not got back because of the way I was treated. If I had my time again I would have simply left the shop and gone elsewhere.

This is my go-to lunch spot in south burlington. The staff is fantastic and everything I've had there has been great. Sandwich meats are sliced at the time of order, and fried items are freshly prepared.

I have been coming here since I was a little kid and theres a reason why I always come back. The bread is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the fryed food is to die for, what else can you ask for.

This is one of the best sub shops in Burlington VT. 10/10 doctors recommend it. I have to stop here every time I visit. The Turkey Lurkey thanksgiving sandwich is my favorite, but they’re all good!

The bread was fresh and had a satisfying texture, with just the right amount of chewiness. The beef and onion rings and Swiss cheese sandwich was also quite good, although not as outstanding as the Italian deli salami sandwich. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the onion rings added a nice crunch. However, the Swiss cheese was somewhat lacking in flavor and didn't stand out as much as I would have liked. Unfortunately, the French fries were not to my taste. They were a bit too greasy and lacked the crispy exterior I was hoping for. However, this could just be a matter of personal preference, as some people might enjoy them that way. Overall, I would recommend Union Jacks for its delicious sandwiches, especially the Italian deli salami sandwich. However, I might skip the French fries next time and try one of their other sides instead.

I was dubious about this restaurant when first walking in; looks like any other drab sandwich shop and we were the only customers at noontime on a Saturday. We both ordered the fish – one fish sandwich on Parmesan roll, one order of fish and chips. The customer service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. By the time the food came out and was delivered to our table, about ten minutes later, the restaurant was filling up, line to the door. With one bite of my sandwich I understood why: THE BEST FRIED FISH IN VERMONT! I love fried fish and have ordered in fish and chips shops, in pricey restaurants, in diners, in food trucks. Union Jack beats all others hands down. I had some of my partner’s fish and chips and his fish was also spectacular and the chips were amazingly good. I am not a big French fries fan, but I would order these fries any time. My sandwich was huge, with golden fried fish coming out of both sides – this is not a McD’s fish sandwich where the little fish square doesn’t fill the round bun – these are big, real hunks of fish, perfectly fried and not greasy, a tasty bun, average tartar sauce, and lettuce. With drinks we spent about $20 – a deal for such a fabulous last-meal-request sandwich. Our next visit, the most recent, we saw that the prices had gone up a bit, and we also were wondering if the size or quality would be as remembered. Absolutely, still fried-fish perfection. The ever-genial staff packed three to-go orders for us to take home. We ate fish and chips in the car on the long ride home and ate the sandwiches the next day, after heating them up in the oven.
