Best Italian Food in Boca Raton

What can I tell you. It starts with the staff: the smiles, the accents, the confident way they move around and take your order. Then it's the space: tight, busy, nothing frilly, nothing wasted, NY energy. Lastly, the food: tbh, I haven't unwrapped the sub from its white waxy-paper casing yet -- but I saw the meats being sliced and how all the ingredients were carefully put together, and I can feel its impressive weight ... so I already know it's good, very good, maybe great. Either way, I've got total Respect for this deli. You know what i mean?

Cold subs are amazing. Super friendly staff. Macaroni salad is top notch. Been here a few times. I will say the chicken cutlet is kind of flavorless. No seasoning at all. Other than that. Perfect

Wow someone needs to take a trip to Chicago and learn how to make an Italian beef sub, red sauce what? Forgot the basil in our mozzarella sub. Also forgot the salami in another sub and five subs and three sides for $85. The bread was probably the worst bread for a sub I’ve ever had. All the hype but a real disappointment.

I have requested a sandwich for lunch without onions or olives and clearly NO ONE CAN READ AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Takes an hour for the sandwich to be done and my lunch was ruined three separate times. What’s the point of a note section if you’re gonna make your own decisions for my sandwich?? Ridiculous.

We’ve been here 30 years in Boca Raton and I’m sorry to say came here Sunday afternoon. Everything we ordered was wrong waited 45 minutes to an hour. Can’t come back.

I just catered V&S for my birthday… this is the best deli in the world. No words can explain how good these sandwiches are. Hot, cold, whatever you want, they are the very best. I could not recommend this place any more. Vinny and Sal are the best! 10/10

OMG no words can express how amazing V&S is PERIOD!!! I am from Philly and came to Delray Florida, to celebrate my daughters Baby Shower. My daughter wanted me to cook everything lol, I said I rather get it catered to enjoy you for the week. Kristine said then we need to go to V& S I love their food! The food was AMAZING and was a big hit!! What a great small family business, as soon as you walk in they start joking with you, make you feel at home and the service is a 10 Star, and the owner came out to thank us for the order. I can not say enough about V&S if I could give a 10 star review I would. I can not wait to visit again as V&S will be my first stop and will be using them again for the my daughter's baby Christening. Some of the best subs and food you can find. For your money you get a decent sized portion with great flavor. The seeded bread is fantastic. Everyone hustles to get you out the door as quickly as possible. We've been coming here for at least a decade. Never had a bad meal. NOTE: this is a take out only place.

If you hear someone bring up Laspada in conversation, they don’t know anything about food. For example Laspada is a gimmick: they put a second layer of meat after your topping so it’s a big sandwich, which can be appreciated but it’s not “the best”. At V&S you have most of the same guys making subs for over a decade. And it’s the attention to detail: soft bread, hard bread, seeded bread and non-seeded. You don’t have just automatically all boar’s head. Some of the meats and cheeses are different brands. Hot peppers, everything has a different level of detail compared to your previously favorite sub place.

We used to have great places like this before the chains took over with garbage meats and an inferior product. This place is the absolute real deal and a holdout from the good ol' days. The difference is in the taste is 1000% better. It's on my list whenever I'm in Boca.

Order sausage parm said it twice got sausage and peppers. Roll and sauce was good. Sausage was bland and no it'll spices.

By FAR the best Italian sub I've had since moving to Florida. Expensive but a fantastic sandwich.

I am working off a list of the best Italian subs in the country. I have wanted to try this place for quite a while, it did not disappoint. The difference here is the Italian seeded roll. It is amazing. I thought I would just eat half but it was so good I ate a whole sub. There are a lot of pros working here. Alex is one, made me a great sandwich.

Has the NY / South Philly feel. The bread, of course, is the real deal. Seeded! The special is delicious. Everyone is always nice as well

Disappointed ordered the Italian sub it was horrible never seen diced onions on a hoagie absolutely no taste the dressing was blah they would have to pour the entire bottle to get any kind of flavor.i heard about the hoagie from others these guys should no better get wit the program

My experiences at V&S have only been pick up since Covid. Prior to the changes that you see now has a different vive. In may 3 to 4 yrs ordering lunch or specially during football season, it was very nice walking in to see everything available to try something different while talking to the crew. But time's have changed all an all the sandwiches and sides are the best. Hope you enjoy as much as my wife and I do. V&S Italian Deli, you can't go wrong.

Ordered on grubhub 1 1/2 hours earlier … got text saying order ready 12:12. I arrive at 12:15. Watched 2 people make fresh sandwiches for many people in store, People for pick up stood in line and waited unattended. I personally waited 25 minutes when 1 of the men asked my name and retrieved my order out of a box that was ready as per Grub Hub 25 minutes prior. This is the 2nd time I’ve experienced poor service for pick up. I love the sandwiches and everything at V&S but they have to do something about there pick up system before I go back there.

Ordered from Uber eats and the driver picked up the wrong order (seriously Uber eats? ) V&S made it right and worked it out to ensure I got the right one. Kuddos to them for making sure I got what I ordered! And let me tell you, I am normally a pub sub kinda girl, this for the first time in a LONG time far exceeded my expectations of a quality sub. So fresh, so delicious and please make sure you order it with the Italian seeded bread OMG! Thank you thank you! A dime a dozen! So delicious and so fresh with quality ingredients. Even my 12 year old ate the sub with lettuce tomatoes and onion (and he NEVER eats the veggies!!) So good! Hats off to you.

I’ve been with you guys for three years now unbelievable Food enjoy it to no end. I tried to send a private message to the Deli and none of the apps will allow me to send a message that you guys can view. I’m sure it’s one time in 1 million my wife loves your Italians and I love your V & S asiago. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed to Fridays ago. My wife got an amazing Italian and please see the attached pictures. This is what I received by the time I got home. I was just really disappointed did not have time to come back stopping by The store and getting a quick dinner. I’m just used to getting a decent sandwich if you didn’t have enough product just say so. I would’ve picked something else. No peppers no onions on it.

Seriously, what's not to like? Well, I gotta say the lines can get to be a little annoying, but when you have food like this I get it. Don't like but get it and that's why I call in my order! Everything is fresh and prepared to perfection. I feel like I'm at a deli from the neighborhood! Good stuff all around 😎

Sal makes a great sandwich! I had the Italian with a side of broccoli rabe. Service was great, highly recommend!

Ordered 2 subs sun @ 1130 with pickup time at 1215. Once order was fully paid, mins later pickup time was changed to 12:50. Upon arrival at 12:45, had to wait in line until 1:15 to pickup subs that were ready and paid for. Really?! Half an hour to get handed the subs, which were mediocre at best. Shame on you. Do better.

So good we ate here twice! Soft seeded bread stuffed with fresh sliced meat and all the fixings. Both times place was packed. Friendly staff hustling hard. Great place wish I could take the whole place home with me.

Before lunch I think about coming here and grabbing a great sandwich but then I stopped myself because I don't want to wait to get my food, even if I place the order on the phone I'm still going to come in and wait.

Probably one of the best deli’s in South Florida in terms of food! Worst service and system of process however. For pickup orders, get ready to wait 45mins-2 hours for one sandwich. Nevertheless waiting on the phone 10mins just to place an order. And if you don’t state hot or cold sandwich immediately you’ll probably have to wait through another 5 mins of scoffs. When you get there you’ll squeeze in for pick up and wait another 15mins just for someone to acknowledge you.I have sat there so many times waiting to be attended to without any acknowledgment. Not even a “anyone else here for pickup”. I mean I only waited an hour and then an additional 15mins to be seen. So rude. I’ve been going here for 10 years and the service every single time has been terrible. Plenty of other delis to choose from where you won’t need to wait and where you’ll be treated with real authentic southern European hospitality.

I went in and ordered a pastrami on rye lightly toasted with Swiss, pickles,coleslaw and thousand Island dressing on both sides.THE GUY WROTE IT DOWN.as I was checking out the dude wanted to charge me for roast beef.he forgot the pickles,swiss,didn't toast it litely or otherwise and only one side had thousand Island dressing on it.i guess I should be happy I got a sandwich BUT WHY THE HELL WRITE IT DOWN IF YOUR NOT GOING TO LOOK AT WHAT YOU WROTE DOWN.the place was not even getting slammed so I don't understand the confusion.you guys need to try harder.

A year ago I wrote a very positive review but after calling the morning of 2/12/24 it appears as if the place is under new management. Having worked in hospitality I’m extremely kind and the man on the phone was very rude for no reason. I ordered a small Italian sub for pick up and was told it would be a 15 minute wait which is fine but then he told me before hanging up it would actually be 40 minutes? A 40 minute wait for a cold sub on a Monday morning the day after SuperBowl? That does not sound right.

A place so great I can’t drive past it when I’m in the area, it’s a guaranteed stop. Italian combo on their seeded Italian crispy bread is the best sandwich south of New York itself (and even then…)! Been going here for almost twenty years and it’s great to see the same faces, this is a tightly run family business that runs like a well oiled machine. If you order takeout online or over the phone, be prepared to call 45-60 minutes in advance. Otherwise, walk ins are pretty simple. Always worth the wait, literally at any cost. They also have a wide array of hot foods and can also cater events. Vinny and Sal started something beautiful in 1985 and we’re so glad to see it part of the Boca cuisine all these years later.

If I could give their service a 6th star, I would. When you haven’t visited for over a year and they remember your name, that special. Speaking of, the absolute best sandwhich in town. There are deli’s and there are experiences.

I’m a native Brooklyn girl and I am a self proclaimed sandwich expert for this reason. I lived in boca from 2002 until 09 and v&s was a staple. Now I live in miami and every time I go to boca I make sure to make a stop and get a sandwich or 3! The people are the same and the sandwiches never change.. always amazing!

Patronized this place for very first time today as I was craving a pastrami sand. Absolutely….hands down….the best pastrami I have ever had down here. Waited a bit (as you usually will on a Sunday). Worth the wait!!! I also had a Chef Salad and added chicken salad and fresh Mozzarella. Soooooo reasonable! I thought the price was a mistake at first. Will be back very soon..

The very largest and tastiest chicken Parm and Eggplant Parm subs. Very crowded into a small space and I require a walker and they carried my subs to the car. First class all the way.

Absolutely great guys in here making some of the best sandwiches of Florida. The porchetta and broccoli rabe on the sesame stick is PHENOMENAL (9.5/10). The Meatball was so good and tender (not dense but perfectly held together) and the sauce wasn't overly acidic. Absolute classic 9/10. The Italian 🤌 once again, TOP NOTCH. 10/10 Every time I come back to Florida from now on, this will be a guaranteed stop

Our recent stop at V&S Deli was nothing short of exceptional. We started off with an order of five Italian cold cut sandwiches, each piled high with freshly sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetables. We also ordered the Mozzarella, Tomato, Basil sandwich, which was a simple and delicious sub that we added a balsamic glaze and olive oil and it showcased the freshness of the ingredients. We were treated to exceptional service from Paolo, Jr., who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the masterpieces he was creating. Paolo, Jr. recommended we try the chicken Fontina sandwich and the Chicken Parmesan Sub with Vodka sauce, so we ordered one of each to taste. The Chicken Fontina sandwiches were juicy and flavorful, with the melted cheese adding a touch of richness. The Chicken Parm was a true star, with the tender chicken and tangy Vodka sauce perfectly complementing each other. They were both mouthwateringly good. We also had to try the Arancini rice balls, which were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. These little (actually rather large) bites of heaven were the perfect ending to our meal. V&S Deli is a must-try for anyone looking for authentic Italian subs in Boca Raton. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the space is cozy, but inviting. Make sure you call ahead to order and they will have your order ready when you arrive. Otherwise you may be in for a wait because - the word is out, this place is outstanding. Authentic and absolutely delicious. I ordered it for the first time like 3 weeks ago and returned 3 times since. I got the small Italian on their seeded bread which is huge and perfectly mouth watering. You can taste and appreciate just how fresh all the ingredients are. I plan to shop from their cute market for dinner one night too! This is absolutely one of my favorite secret spots now! The staff there have all been welcoming and pleasant as well!!

This is the real deal if you like Italian Hero Subs. They also have take away meals, salads, soup, and deserts. I had the Chicken Fontina with lightly coated fried chicken cutlets not greasy at all, and the cheese was lightly placed on providing my taste buds with an amazing flavor. My brother in-law had Chicken Cutlet Florentine equally good. These were both hot subs. My sister had a cold Roast Beef sub. All three were plentiful and delicious we savored each bite! If I lived near this place I would definitely eat here once or twice a week...yes it was that good! The only downside is only having three small tables outside. So best to plan ahead for take away orders.

What a find! We’ve been a couple times for sandwiches and they were excellent each time. Sandwiches were clearly made with care, and the folks behind the counter are friendly and helpful with recommendations when ordering.

Not only does the food live up to the hype. More important than that is their humanity. They have definately restored my faith in humanity! No need for details, but just for the way they treat their customers, I would go back (45 minute drive!). The food is just a bonus!
