Beautiful little restaurant in downtown Providence. We went for lunch and the server was enthusiastic about the food, he recommended the passionfruit lemonade- it was delicious. The soy fingers appetizer was so good- the breading actually stays on the meat! We loved the orange chicken and General Tso’s— dishes that as vegetarians, we usually never get to have! We also liked that the music in the restaurant was quiet, allowing for easy conversation.

I'm not even a Vegetarian, but I still love this place. Specifically the General Tso's Soy Protein, it's fantastic. The texture and flavor of this stuff, if you told me it was real chicken I'd probably believe you. It's great.

Pretty good food, not amazing (we ate takeout). Here are our reviews: Dumplings: excellent Pad Thai: meh. Okay taste but it was a stretch to call this “pad Thai”. Very inauthentic. Curry soba noodles: not good. Would not recommend. Basil soy protein: quite good Udon stir fry: okay Scallion pancake: good but WILDLY overpriced. $8 for one pancake about 5” in diameter.

We picked this place because we weren't up for an expensive Italian dinner, and this looked pleasantly different. What a great find. The dining room sits above the street for neighborhood watching, and the place was empty when we went in early summer. The menu is full of tofu and seitan options for protein. We both had very tasty, super fresh dishes that were big enough to take leftover portions home.

We sadly couldn't come in to eat, but we ordered to go and had a great experience overall. From ordering on the phone, to getting the food at the establishment to the delicious food. We had the General Tso and the Eggplant Kung Pao with tofu. Both came with a side of rice and a side of miso. Both 5/5! Delicious 🤤 If we have to choose our favorite is the General Tso. We will be back for sure.

🚨🚨Please don’t eat here. I found a MAGGOT in my food. 🚨🚨 I’ve had many positive experiences here over the last 9 years but something has changed. My roommate got food poisoning after eating the food here. I thought it was an anomaly so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong. A separate night, I ordered takeout and found a MAGGOT nestled in my food. I called the restaurant the same night and they told me to come back to the restaurant the next day to speak with them. When I return (receipt and picture in hand), tell them that I found a MAGGOT in my food. The staff was dismissive and said it was a piece of rice. I asked them to honor the refund but they insisted they couldn’t because I didn’t bring the food back the night before. To think they aren’t even decent enough to give a customer a refund that has been going there for so long. Unless they change management, I can no longer recommend that anyone orders food from here. The staff has made it clear that they are negligent and do not consider food safety a priority.

Great menu with lots of options including seitan. We went for lunch and enjoyed it so much we went for an evening meal the next night. The restaurant was not very busy but they seem to do a lot of take-away. The portions were good and they also have a full license and the wine was very nice.

We are vegetarian rather than vegan and love Thai & Vietnamese food. This place is fantastic! The menu is extensive and the portions are large. We had a sizzling teriyaki dish and an aubergine dish in black bean sauce. Oyster mushrooms in batter was a fantastic starter washed down with hot sake.

I’m not vegan or a vegetarian however, this place is AMAZING. Specifically their samosas. Idk what it is but there so freaking delicious. Their Singapore noodle with soy protein not tofu is sooooooo good too. And these are some of the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.

The food is great and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I really like their soba noodle soup with tofu and mushrooms.

My daughter said the music was a bit boring, although I thought it was pretty good. Besides, what is much more important is that the food is great. The one who didn't like the music said that the "aga tofu" in this restaurant was the best tofu she had ever eaten. Sweet potato chips are especially excellent. We asked for non-spicy Pad Thai and they really made it non-spicy. Why only four stars for the food anyway? Not because he is bad; He is actually good. But simply because it is not that original or innovative. There are similar things in many other restaurants.

If I could give 6 stars I would! We came on a Sunday night and ordered several apps, all delicious!! The BBQ Seitan blew my mind, as I try to reduce my meat consumption it was a very welcome substitute that I will definitely have again. The King Oyster Mushroom app was perfectly crisp and the kimchi yaki udon noodles were so satisfying. The drinks were yummy and inexpensive compared to most places in downtown Providence. We will definitely be back and I’m going to be looking for some recipes to try to recreate these dishes at home!

I used to live in Providence and order from here weekly. Just visited this week and had to eat here again! *eating in is a wonderful experience- atmosphere is modern and calming, portions are huge , staff is super friendly and attentive* (in comparison to the vegan pan-Asian restaurants in San Francisco where I live now, this place still tops them!)

Outstanding selection of vegan options. BBQ Seitan was excellent! Seitan spare ribs and eggplant are must-have plates! Only meter parking available. I wish there was quick temporary parking to run in and out.

With a name like “Veggie Fun” it’s hard not to enjoy this place. I came in with my girlfriend for my birthday dinner this year, and this place was really great! Quality food, low prices, and outstanding service for a single person handling the entire dinner service tonight. Our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, and made sure our waters were filled. I don’t often have reviews with no drawbacks, so I’m happy to recommend this place to anyone in the Providence area. My girlfriend has been coming here for years, top notes!

i ordered the pad tai and curry samosas and the samosas were alright but bland and the pad tai was crazy. I’m currently 6 hours in after eating the pad tai and my stomach is in shambles and i’ve been some what nauseous since eating. Cute place and loved the idea of all vegetarian but be cautious of that pad tai.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay for my meal, but this is a great restaurant, easy to order, and DELICIOUS food!! I love not having to worry about which meal choices are vegan or not, and I can guarantee that my non-vegan friends and family would LOVE each and every option.

Arrived at 11:30am for lunch but they weren't open. Came back an hour later. Food was tasty. Fresh ginger ale was different and good.

I might have a new favorite spot in Providence! I don't why it took me so long to try this place, but now that I have, I will definitely be back, and probably sooner rather than later.

What a great find! Our son is Vegan which causes compromises but I would return here regardless of needing a plant-based menu. Everything was delicous, portions were generous and the setting was first-class. Service was helpful and friendly but a bit understaffed at the time we were there. Highly reccommend trying them out.

Dined at Veggie Fun twice this week - both great experiences. My new favorite place for soy protein/tofu in food - flavorful without being too soft or overcooked. Love the crispy spring rolls especially though the sweet and sour soy protein was also phenomenal. Was amazed at how low the bill was when I went with my daughter as we ordered a bunch. Will definitely come back when back in town.

I'm not a vegetarian but my friends are or prefer to eat less meat and we came here the other night. I like the low light atmosphere, service was great and the food was too! I had the autumn rolls and pad Thai. It's not what im used too but I would order again.

Okay experience at Veggie Fun. Pretty dull ambience, servers looked unenthusiastic, food was okay, nothing that was bad, but expected a better overall experience given the reviews.

I was happy to see a vegan Asian place. They have lots of options to choose from. I tried the soy cutlet sizzling platter. It tasted amazing. Soy cutlet with some veggies in the creamy savory sauce, served with miso soup and brown rice. From the appetizers we tried vegetable dumplings ( they were good) and Indian samosas. Indian samosas were a little bit on the sweeter side and were nothing like Indian samosas. Also tried fried vanilla ice cream which was okay!

The food is not only beautiful and delicious but it's also healthy. Also...lychee fruit soda!

The only "complaint" I have is that I got sauce on my shirt lol. Everything looked amazing, smelled wonderful, and was delicious! We had sweet yam fries, samosas, scallion pancakes, general protein, pad Thai, kimchi udon, espresso martini, and chocolate cake. Ordered Singapore noodles to go.

The food was amazing. The service was great and fast. They have good size portions. I had the kimchi udon, curry samosas, sweet yam fries, scallion pancake and chocolate cake. The peach ginger Bellini was delicious. Wonderful first experience at this vegan restaurant. Definitely recommend and will be back.

So my partner and I went here last night on a whim. And oh boy, I mean first of all, the atmosphere makes it very clear that this place just moved into the kitchen and left the 1930’s American fine dining theme in place from whatever was in that space last. The food is alright, but like the BBQ Seitan app is $8 and it was literally 4 small slices of seitan on a place drowned in an overly sweet sauce. The banana roll desert was the same, two insanely tiny spring rolls filled with raw banana and topped with Hersey syrup. The portions are insanely small for the prices they are asking. My cocktail was nearly 100% juice, my girlfriends “chai” was just a teabag in a cup. This place seems to phone it in on every single level except plating, which they do fairly well. But how many people come back for how well something was plated? I know personally, I won’t ever be back.

It was ok. The vegan chicken was 5/10. Dessert tasted dairy. Bathrooms were clean. They jacked up their prices sadly

I'm a meat eater, my partner is vegan, and we both LOVE this place. We come here as often as she'll let me! Their General Tso meal is divine. I get a lychee drink w it. Their appetizers are legit too. Try the BBQ seitan and the edamame. I wish the owners the absolute best and would hope to see another location in the future. Their recipes must be worth a fortune!

This place has great ambiance, and a full vegetarian/vegan menu. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious with large portions. I would recommend this restaurant to people who have a mixed party of meat eaters and vegetarians because the seitan selections have excellent texture and flavor that will satisfy meat eating skeptics who think they need to have meat in a dish to be happy. The scrumptious offerings at Veggie Fun prove that they don't.

Excellent vegan General Tso & Kung Pao Eggplant!

Food is always very good; however, I wish they'd have the option of white rice. I get brown rice is more nutritious and whatever, but at what cost? It tastes awful. I wish they had at least the option for white rice instead.

Amazing place , everything is vegan :) mama is from fujiou of China :) I guess many people come here yesterday because of the big event , she looks tired , I love their homemade kimchi :)

First time visitor, and we weren't impressed. The miso soup was fine, but my friend's order of miso mushroom soup (which cost more than the miso soup that comes with an entree) was just plain miso with a single, raw mushroom sliced on top. The dumplings and autumn rolls were fine, but the seitan with mushrooms had an almost cloying sweetness despite being in a brown sauce. The flavor was just flat, no complexity to it at all. The pineapple fried rice was pretty awful; oily, flavorless.

We really enjoyed the veggie dinners. It is amazing how they create such great dinners that are meat-similar.

⚠️Warning ⚠️ Worm ridden food served here. I wish I could give this place negative score instead of the 1star. Me and my wife were here late afternoon on a Saturday and were the only guests. This is important context for the appalling treatment by the staff. 1. The staff was rude- all the tables are 4 seaters overlooking a window and we wanted to sit close to where we had parked. The waiting staff seemed to resist saying that it’s a four seater, she wanted to seat us in a booth which is 4-6 seater! 2. The staff was not knowledgeable, most of the food isn’t fresh and is not made on site. I wanted to have the spring roll but it had mushrooms so I asked the waiting staff if they could avoid mushrooms in my spring rolls and she said these are not made in their kitchen and are pre made in a different facility so they cannot. Next, I asked if the dumplings have mushrooms and she said she doesn’t know- these are also pre made in a different facility. I asked her if the chef or anyone in the kitchen would know if the dumplings have mushroom and she just resisted me by saying no one knows. No explanations, no recommendations for alternative appetizers! 3. My food had worms! I ordered the fried rice, it came with potatoes, carrots and broccoli. The first piece of broccoli I tired to eat had worms in it (image attached). I was nauseous seeing it and called the staff. The staff was very calm, not at all rattled and also not apologetic! She asked me if I would like a new plate. I felt she hadn’t realized the worms and explicitly showed her. She said the broccolis are organic and can have worms! Shouldn’t there be a cleaning process to remove them before serving to guests?? We try but sometimes they are still there was the reply by the waiting staff! Me and my wife were shocked by this attitude of the staff. They weren’t apologetic for serving us worm ridden food. They didn’t charge us for the fried rice, we were charged for all the other items we had ordered. Needless to say, never having food here!

Just had the worst service experience ever.

The person serving requires you to tip 30% even though she is rude throughout the entire time. My father was eating some miso soup, and the server just takes the soup away from him in the middle of eating it! Then she yells at my mother to put away her phone and is angered to the core when we ask to spilt the bill telling us it gives her too much work. Her tone was not welcoming at all and when we asked for salt and pepper, she glared at us and stormed over to get us salt and pepper. AND THE TIP I CANT GET OVER Her service was so so low I didn’t even want to tip! I tipped her more than 15 percent because I still wanted to be nice, but she kept us there until we gave her more and asked again for 30 percent. She then asked (in the rudest tone ever) if her service was bad and told us to never give less than 30% again. Edit: I saw another review that said almost the exact same thing, but they mentioned how they treated poc. I do think the fact my family has darker skin is a factor in the way she treated us, as she treated our table neighbors (white) in the upmost respect.

Really delicious and flavorful food, large portions

Very nice restaurant. The spring rolls are very small (4 per order) and are nice and crisp. The miso soup is very light and a great start to the meal. Tofu dishes are not heavy, even in the brown sauce. Only complaint was that the appetizer came while we were still eating the soup and the mains came shortly after the apps. Staff was friendly, but not super attentive. Overall, would certainly return.

I was looking for a kosher chinese restaurant in providence and found this kosher vegan place which ended up being a staple for my husband and I! Their food is very good and you can even close your eyes and as taste goes you will think it’s really chicken from a normal Chinese food restaurant. Their general tsou chicken and orange chicken are great, as well as their scallion pancakes are absolutely delicious! Definitely worth a try if you’re in Providence looking for something good and kosher.
