Bad attention from the employee on duty who was not able to prepare a simple tea, serving a glass of hot water without flavor for 3 dollars, deplorable 🤮🤮

Awesome selection of vegan and vegetarian empanadas, soups, and salads available. I had the super kale and California veggie and loved both. The white bean soup is a perfect warming comfort food on a cold day. Staff were super friendly and helpful. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Solid empanada, perfect for a savory snack to carry you over to meal time. Have two for light lunch, three for a filling sit-down. Salteña — though with some slight variations, gets the essentials right — complete with stewed beef, peppers, boiled egg and olives.

Walked in with high hopes. Left with broken dreams. Walked straight to Arizmendi instead.

With so few coffee shops open after 5pm in this area now, Venga is a great option and has great coffee, too, if Manny's is too busy and Four Barrel is closed.

I got salteña and it was very flavorful. Very simple and delicious. The staff is very kind.

I ordered cocktail-size empanadas from Venga's catering menu for my birthday party. I picked a few empanadas that were also popular orders: gaucho chicken, mushroom, and sweet corn. There were bilingual patrons (some probably Argentinian) there. I picked up one of their soups, packaged to go in the fridge, for my dinner. Great soups and salads ready to go. The order was ready the next day for pick up as requested. My guests loved it! There were a number of vegetarians. It was great party food that came with excellent sauces, one chimichurri. Types of empanadas as initialed in the crust. All the empanadas got eaten at the party; we finished off the rest of the sauces at home. Venue has coffee and tea for breakfast. I will definitely be back!

Great empanadas, lots of variety

The Best empanadas I've ever eaten!!! Served warm with generous filling, many vegetarian or gluten free options. I've tried the mushroom empanada and the banana and dulce de leche (sweet), they were both delicious and at a good price. They have some good refreshing drinks too. I definitely recommend!

Stopped by yesterday to pick up a couple mushroom empanadas for my partner’s birthday and, as always, they were amazing with tasty pastry and wonderfully seasoned juicy mushrooms. Reasonably priced with a small casual eating area, Venga never disappoints

NOPE! I have been a fan for a few years until today. We are vegetarian and they have many delicious options, which is why we have loved them. I was in today taking my usual faves home but, rather than listening to me, somehow the guy gave me an empanada filled with PORK. He seemed very out of it and I initially thought he was just super stoned. He even told me he was confused by my order which was ridiculous. I may still go there but not if that guy is working and I will always watch what they are doing. I don't know his name but he wears glasses. Unacceptable.

Despite the fact we came only 30 minutes before closing the service was great and had a good time. The spicy sauce could benefit from a little more flavor, and the beef was a little blend for my taste. That said, overall, I recommend this place.

Several vegetarian options. Tried the mushroom, spinach and Mediterranean. All were delicious with plenty of filling inside! The chimichurri was delicious. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Took them to go but had no idea of telling which one was which until you opened them up. They are about 7 bucks a piece.

Ok the guy behind the counter was right. I shouldn't have shared lol! But I wanted to be good and watch my portions and I knew we were going somewhere for dinner. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and had some amazing suggestions. They have some delicious fresh flavors and variety. They offer an overwhelming array of empanadas that are heated fresh to order. Though I clearly had some favorites among what I tried, everything was tasty. Argentine Beef: Had a lot of taste surrounding the small granules of ground beef. Thought the red peppers were especially nice. Though after having other empanadas here, I think I prefer the chunky beef ones to this. Salteña Steak: Hearty chunks of steak contrasted with pungent olives. Loved all the texture in this since it felt like quite a meal. Aji Gallina: Not to be confused with Peruvian "aji de gallina". No creamy sauce, instead the star is the generous amount of nicely spiced shredded chicken. Though well spiced, not particularly spicy hot. Ham & Cheese: Comfort food, like a Hot Pocket! Big cubes of salty ham and lots of cheese. Only problem is that the cheese busted through the bottom of this empanada. Which is strange since the other cheese-centric empanadas I tried maintained their structural integrity. Argentine Chorizo: Not sure if I've had Argentine chorizo before. But to me it tasted more like Italian sausage than Mexican chorizo. Which is perfectly fine, since it's very yummy with all those peppers. Spicy Beef: More nice chunky beef cubes, for a hearty chew. The potatoes seemed a bit bland though, might have preferred if they just doubled up on peppers. Caprese: Liked all the cheese and herbs. Did quite taste like a caprese salad since the sun dried tomatoes obviously weren't juicy nor did the basil taste very pungent. But still quite enjoyable. Three Cheese & Walnuts: Really great for vegetarian! The mozzarella and jack gave it an intense creaminess while the bleu cheese gave it a nice intensity. Seemed a little sparse on the walnuts, but that's fine since I was here for the cheese. Alfajor: Just as it should be, dry buttery cookies and rich dulce de leche in the middle. The empanadas were very good but too expensive, I had two empanadas and one Jamaica and it was 22.50. Also, they didn’t have that much meat inside and they were pretty small. But on a more positive, the staff was very nice and the chimichurri they give you with your empanadas is delicious.

My wife, 12 year-old daughter and I loved this place. From the outside doesn't really catch the eye, my wife almost said no just because she thought it was dark. Not fancy seating or anything but the empanadas are amazing, nuf said!! Seriously, they are great. Lots of flavors. Pick the ones you want from the display case and they finish cooking them so you get them hot and crispy. I will certainly come back next time in the area. Will probably get a bunch to go and freeze them.

Are not perfectly Argentina's empanadas. But it's maybe because there aren't enough argentinian ingredients in USA.

While we were eating our way through The Mission District we couldn't pass up trying the empanadas at Venga. We had the spicy beef and chicken. Very nice staff and don't pass up the dipping sauces. The crust is light and flakey. The fillings were very flavorful.

The food is so nice! And they also got wine, among other beverages! The guy working there is super cool, ask for his recommendations when you are not certain about what to order, it can’t go wrong! :D

Venga is the local, "hey, I know you" coffee shop. You come here, and you're treated like family. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the espresso was AMAZING!

The atmosphere is meh, but my spicy beef empanada was excellent. A good deal for $4.60. It'll definitely get added to my "I need a small quick meal to hold me over" list.

I go here nearly every day and get the same thing: a small coffee and a spicy beef empanada. I don't know what took so long for me to finally post a review, but it is well deserved, and long overdue. Venga Empanadas is my favorite breakfast spot. Their staff is friendly and personable, and they build rapport with their regulars in a way that almost makes it feel like going to a friend's house for breakfast. If you're looking for a quick bite, or even a full meal, go here. It's quick and inexpensive, and you'll leave feeling satisfied.

Got the chorizo and argentina beef empanadas and a mango drink. The empanadas were solid and came with two dipping sauces. The chimichurri one was excellent. The mango drink could have been colder but the empanadas were good enough to forgive that!

Venga has a lovely homey feel with some limited seating for indoor and outdoor seating. They had a wide variety of empanadas that could fit anyone's dietary preferences along with gluten-free options. I'd definitely recommend for a quick, hot, grab and go.

Best empanadas in SF hands down. I tried the beef empanada and a spinach and cheese; both equally as good. Couldn't take a pic of the beef though because i ate it too quick. I also tried the dessert empanada stuffed with banana and something else (vanilla?) Sooo good. The thing i like about this place the most, is the empanadas arent pre-cooked and sitting under glass for 4 hours before it's put in the microwave for you, like some places. Instead their empanadas are made to order... hallelujah! Theres another place that sells empanadas at embarkadero, but they are twice as expensive and half as small. If you're in the Mission you have to try one.. they're small enough to eat while walking around but also filling too. Bravo Venga!

I am a little biased since I love empanadas. Venga has some darn good empanadas where both my tastebuds and my wallet are happy. I'm really big on the mushroom empanadas personally. Definitely coming back here on the regular!!

Great empanada place!! The empanadas are about $4 each. The filling is generous, the crust is flaky and delicious! Such a great snack. The empanadas are baked to order so it takes a few minutes. I would want to try every flavor! The spicy beef and argentina beef are both delicious!

This place has one of the best empanadas and tasty food to go generally in the mission ! The young Latin man who works there always gives a great customer service even though I ve seen him working alone ,busy and dealing with many creepy weirdo clients! He always explains everything and works hard and clean but the lady is totally rude not using gloves touching the food with hands and not giving any napkins sous or utensils at all ! KEEP MAKING GREAT EMPANADAS

I stop here every time I travel to San Francisco for some empanadas to go! My favorites are the meat-filled ones. The crust is super flakey and delicious. Make sure to eat them with their dipping sauces!

Very very happy with the food!; The do not skimp on the chicken in the empanadas, it's quality, homemade, fresh and prepared very well and authentic. I wish I actually bought more when I was there. Great for lunch in the go. Excellent! Desserts, teas and coffee are a nice touch too.

It's ok more for an American pallet

We ordered 4 dozen empanadas, a bunch of desserts and drinks. I tipped and noticed I wasn't given any sauce, a forgivable offense, until I went to ask the same server for some sauce and she hands me one small single serving container. I ask to get the other sauce as well but in a larger container. Get a slightly larger container but less than halfway filled. Spent too much money here to feel like a criminal stealing sauce. Good thing we had the sauce cuz some of them can run a little dry.

This restaurant is a small hole in the wall but its bursting at the seems with flavor and home cooked style food. Everything I have chosen here was a pleasure to eat. Argentinian food is full of flavor and deep rooted traditions that Venga does justice. As you walk through the door you are greeted with a plethora of decadent smells and greeted by that of your host or your cashier depending on whether you would like to eat in or get it on the run. The staff here are very pleasant and genuinely happy you chose to stop in and give them a try. Being near my house I am blessed with having a wonderful place like this so close. Delicious empanadas, lots of fillings and great chimichurri dipping sauce!

A mellow little spot serving up coffee, empanadas, and sweets - Venga! Empanadas is a local Mission grown business in what is now the revolving door of Valencia corridor! Always glad to see a small shop make it out there as the storefronts become more and more sought after. There is a nice little public parklett right outside and 16th Street just a block and a half away!

These empanadas are overrated. The filled was too liquity that the dough barely hold it. The dough was okay but super thin. What disappointed me the most was the alfajor. It barely had dulce de leche in it. Not like real Argentinian alfajores
