Great for a quick lunch on our way home

Big nope on the pizza. Very disappointed. Perhaps the pasta is better. The waiter was okay, we were seated quickly, but the pizza was terrible.

My family and I have visited this restaurant several times in the past while on vacation. Excellent food and good service. However our visit ti this restaurant this year was a completely different story! The food was absolutely horrible. Out if the 5 of us, 3 of us were sick the next day. The chicken was extremely dry and the seafood didn’t taste right. In addition to that, our server could not get our order straight. She kept coming back to the table to ask us again what we ordered. The appetizers were not even what we ordered. We choose to sit outside in the patio as we have in the past. What a mistake! The string lights were nit turned on and the patio has not been kept up. Will not ever go back! What a shame. They were so good in the past. Try Briwn Cow for breakfast or lunch. Excellent food!!!! Homemade bread. Everything was amazing!!!

The service and atmosphere are nice, but oh my the food is so inedible! We got the eggplant parm pizza and the eggplant was not cooked, the pizza dough tasted worse than store-bought frozen pizza. I wonder if all they got was frozen food from cisco and just reheated the food. For a restaurant with "pie and pasta" in their name, their pizza is the worst pizza I have ever had anywhere!

Our waiter was super friendly & hospitable. The food tasted fresh & on point. They’re also pet friendly which is a super plus.

Use to be great, gone down hill. My mother ordered strawberry lemonade and was served water with a small amt of strawberry in the bottom? Really?? Come to find out they were out of lemonade. Can't you just say that??Real good for business.WTH?

Well go best to worst and it was overall good. Staff is awesome super friendly, courteous and professional. Ambiance was good. Plenty of places to sit and relax outside. Food was okay, passable but we also ordered some weird stuff so it’s not all their fault. Not big on the Ragu and we got the Tater pizza, might just go with some more classic options next time.

We left the Canadian border to come here at 5:30. It is after 7:00 and our food has yet arrived. It's not busy and there were over 15 people working. No excuse for this slow service. We wanted to get ice cream at Tim and Doug's in Newport before they closed. Not acceptable to people who need to drive home to MASSACHUSETTS early morning the next day.

Pizza tastes like cracker, no wood sesation or flavor at all. Boursin sauce doesn't fit with Pizza. Unfortunately, we have found one hair in the Pasta. Though the server was nice. The price is expensive for the quality and food you are getting.

Bought a Margareta Pizza but to call it a pizza will be a disgrace. It was bread with canned tomatoes and a few pieces of cheese. Everything was loose couldn't even eat it without the tomatoes falling. Was really hungry and the restaurant looked good but didn't expect this.

The food and choices were fantastic!!! The service was exceptional! I have been going here every time I come back to the area. I definitely need to come back more! The Executive chef, Sky has great taste and knows what should be on the menu!

Food was pretty nice HOWEVER!! I found some hairs in my Mac n cheese!! Besides the hair though it was nice, and the server was pretty weird ALTHOUGH he was nice and served us well and the dessert was quite delectable

The food was pretty good, and the service was too. The dishes were fantastic from their descriptions, but they could use a little more flavor. They accommodated our large group and made sure we were well served the entire time.

My first time here, It won’t be my last ! I stopped for a sandwich for lunch with my brother who had been there before. Very comfortable seating, great wait staff, we had a woman named Traci, excellent! The menu was diversified something for everyone. It was lunch so I had a burger……a HUGE Burger, lettuce, tomato, red onion and lettuce with a half plate of waffle fries cooked just right. I had some time to look at the menu and the plates that were coming out of the kitchen, wonderful looking dishes, very large portions. As soon as I got home I told my wife about this place. After we looked at everything on their website, she said, “We have to go there”! So our next night out will definitely be there. I am looking forward to some of the seafood dishes and my wife loves the look of some of their risotto dishes. The desserts also look heavenly, especially the chocolate mousse one.

Had the Baja Veggie Burger. I thought it was great and would love to come back for seconds.

My son, my Girlfriend and Myself were seated at an unstable table that had a large gob of duct tape wrapped around three inches of the leg. My sons steak came out to him raw with three bacon wrapped scallops that were at a temperature he could eat without burning our mouths, but when they took his plate back into the kitchen to correct the raw steak, they must have put the whole plate into a microwave because when it came back out one of the scallops burned my kids mouth so bad his eyes were watering and the rest of his meal was tasteless afterwards. When I approached the supervisor about these issues, she was extremely unhelpful and rude about it.

amazing!!! the small portion of the chicken marsala was still waaay more than enough for me, and it was loaded with tons of mushrooms and chicken. my boyfriend got the chicken burger and he said it was good, but the fries were incredible. our waitress was extremely nice and it was clean and homey inside the restaurant! i wish i lived closer so i could come more often! they seem to have a lot of locals, i can see why!

Excellent food. French dip consists of roast beef and baguette. The beef was so tender and tasty. This was accompanied by fries. A delicious lunch at a reasonable price.

My group of pizza-loving friends and I were staying up at Jay only to find that the pizza situation up there was quite lacking. Called up the lovely people here who were able to accommodate a large order and have it ready in 30 mins, the time it took to drive here from Jay! Even though this place is not strictly a pizza place, that doesn’t stop them from having a wide selection of tasty pies. One thing to note is that they are more personal sized than a typical pizza.

Had a nice meal with the wifey and our daughter. Portion sizing was great, food was amazing, and such a welcoming establishment. Tracy was our waitress and she explained the menu perfect. My wife loved the seafood pasta dish, and I got a French dip sandwich. What great service and experience!

Lovely place with great food, service, and prices

I went there for the first time the other day. The server, Dillon or Deon or Devon. I didnt quite catch his name but he was amazing beyond words can describe, same is true for how everyone there works together as a team. It's a well oiled machine. The server took time to read and describe the food to me as I forgot my glasses. He was extremely friendly and kept checking up on me as did other servers. The food was excellent but a bit expensive. I couldn't read my bill and I know I left enough to cover it but I don't think I left enough tip when I reestimated it with tax after I left. So next time I go, I hope to see the server again to give him a little more. The 5 onion soup and bbq pork pizza was delicious. Wasn't crazy for the carmel cheesecake.

Surprisingly great food, atmosphere and service. Huge, nicely appointed restaurant. Did not expect such quality in the woods of Vermont. 😉🤗

Food is extremely over salted, the wait staff is only helpful if you are of the younger generation, and they assume that you'll be able to give them a larger tip. Oops, I'm 61 and not dressed in the more trendy clothes, I sat at the bar stools area and waited and waited and waited....... The place was some what busy but a regular afternoon type of day. Finally after 13 minutes I spoke up a bit a finally got the girls attention, I ordered a simple mixed drink and a appetizer plate, the drink took about 5 mins. And the food took another 20 mins. By then I really needed another drink. I did even leave a very generous tip. But I will not be going there again. Thank you for listening to me......

Update: September 2023. 5/5 rating visit. This time place has a few diners so it was more quiet and peaceful. Service was better i guess because there was only a few of us and food was fine too, not burnt i guess the chef has time to take note of it 3/3 rate. A so-so place to dine, servants are attentive to needs but needs to change their way of talk to customer’s, if they are almost at closing, they make you feel that you need to go out now. We enjoyed the atmosphere and food but not the crew

Our first time here. We did take out. Food was outstanding and very large portions. We kept leftovers for another meal.

Pizza used to be so good. Now it's based on some kind of dry / frozen pita bread with canned toppings :( Take it off the menu if you don't intend to make half decent pizza. Even grocery store pizza is better.

Just left from there and words can’t express how great our experience was. The food, service, and atmosphere was 10/10. Our server, Kortnee, was great!

Stopped in after Canada boarder crossing. Drove from Montreal. 2 parents, a teenager and toddler on a road trip… 2pm so not busy. Service was top notch. So friendly , so attentive. Thank you ! Honey sriracha wings were stellar 10/10. Had the mushroom pizza(my favorite) and the buffalo chicken (my husbands fav) such a wonderful surprise for a hungry and cranky family. Amazing place, amazing staff.

It happened again last night. You can’t go wrong going to pie and pasta for dinner. Friday night surf and turf prime rib with bacon wrapped scallops some of the best I’ve had. I have never been disappointed. Always our go to. The atmosphere is great. The servers are top-notch.

Decided to get a bite to eat before crossing the border and this did not disappoint. We were pulling a camper and there was plenty of parking in the plaza behind this restaurant.

The worst pasta I’ve ever had. Ever.

Arrived for dinner for the first time ever and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiling faces, the restaurant is beautiful inside and we had a great waitress. She was friendly and had great recommendations, we had the mussels to start and they were fresh and delicious, than we had the specials for dinner which was a prime rib topped with bacon wrapped scallops and a delmonico steak and added bacon wrapped scallops to that, both choices were very good if I had to say any negatives it would be that the rice I got was not my favorite and I couldn’t get mashed potatoes as I do not eat cheese and they are made with cheese so not many sides to offer for me but not something they are doing wrong. Drinks were good plenty of choices and the deserts were phenomenal we had the tiramisu and flourless chocolate torte. prices are reasonable and Overall a great experience and will return again when in the area.

Great food and fantastic service

Excellent burger, waitress was very attentive, but there was silver duct tape on booth seats, and it was rolling up a bit. At least match the tape to the beige color of your booths and make sure it's not coming up.

Honey Siracha wings are awesome, waitress was excellent and very attentive, very fair prices.

Experience was great, the waiters were helpful and their bar drinks are really good!

Great food! For people with handicap children, I highly recommend Pie and Pasta. My daughter is in a power wheelchair. The staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome. We have a seating arrangement that takes us out of the main seating area. My daughter has a heightened startle due to noise and movement, so being away from the crowd makes our dining experience less stressful. That feels really nice.

Really amazing food. A little pricey, but you can choose between lunch and dinner portions.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Vermont. The maple crème brûlée is not to be missed. Great service. Highly recommended.

Service was very good. We ordered calamari and 2 pizzas. The calamari was light and crispy. The pizzas were quite disappointing: canned tomatoes on a flatbread style crust, no sauce, no oil, no spices, little flavor, bland cheese and soft crust made for nothing I'd consider pizza. We so wanted to have a good pizza option, but this unfortunately isn't.

You are missing out if you don't treat yourself to dinner/lunch here! This is where we always stop when we're in the Newport/Derby area. We love Vermont Pie and pasta!

First time eating there everything was awesome

I had a blackened fish and shrimp special that was served on a coconut risotto; it was fantastic, and the portion size was generous. My girlfriend had one of their beef offerings and enjoyed her meal just as much. Our deserts were fine, but I would probably try an appetizer instead, if we were to return, as the desserts weren't on the same level as the entrees. Waitress was very good. Service was prompt. Place was clean. I liked my entree so much that the restaurant should get a 5-dot review, but the value was lacking. My entree alone was $37, which was mildly shocking, as the prices weren't posted on the board. If it came with bread and soup or a salad, I wouldn't complain because it was that good. I feel the price was a bit inflated, given the lack of extras.

What a wonderful place! The atmosphere was amazing l, the staff was incredible and the food and drinks were delicious. Tami was our waitress. What a pleasure. So personable and friendly. Generous portions for the price. I highly recommend a trip to Derby

Lot of food to choose from great food

I have to be honest here I had high expectations - it was the last meal of our trip and wanted to celebrate my wife's bday a few things that led to this lower review Let me start by saying the staff was extremely pleasant, the restaurant very clean, with a nice warm environment and super kid friendly ! But I'm reviewing the food not the location , my beers came out pretty flat , the spaghetti Bolognese for kids is actually fettuccine noodles ( nothing major but just a different pasta) Now I have a wood fired oven and was excited but the pizza and garlic fell really short . Mine were lukewarm when I recieved them so I felt like they were siting maybe a miscommunication between the pasta and pizza chef but that kind of sucks , the cheese had no color on top either which is what you want out of a wood oven I will say the marinara sauce was bomb with the garlic bread Also it was my wife birthday and it kind of sucks at a restaurant when you have to pay for the birthday dessert just a thing I find weird Again maybe not the best timing but I wouldn't recommend based on the food but would definitely based on the atmosphere the staff creates

Lovely meal in a side room near the door (we were part of a small wedding party). The wait staff were top flight. I had the fish and chips. The fish was the largest portion I've ever received for the money and quite good. The tartar sauce was unusually delish! The only issue was that those near the door were chilled due to the nearby exterior door opening and closing. Thus a 4 stars not a 5.

We've been here twice. The first time was almost 2 months ago and food was great. Today it was horrible. We ordered a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, the crust was thick and had the texture and flavor like the store bought pre made crusts, it wasn't crispy and nobody could tell it was cooked by fire... it hardly even had burn marks on it. It was smothered in sauce and cheese and was not enjoyable. It was greasy and soggy. The second dish was the lobster ravioli in a lobster cream sauce. Lobster was rubbery and the cream sauce was watery and not desirable. The third dish was a French dip sandwich and it was dry and the au jus tasted like vinegar. The best meal of the table was the spaghetti noodles with cheese and butter from the kids menu. The price of a kids lemonade was 3.25 and the adult size fountain soda was the same price. Doesn't seem right to me considering the kids drink is less than 1/2 of the amount. Will not be returning, sadly. The quality was absolutely horrible for a bill that was close to $100

We were starving after a long drive from Quebec City and chose this restaurant because, quite frankly, it was the first one we came to and we needed a break. What a gem it turned out to be! Delicious food - our party of 4 had the Delmonico steak special, the grilled pork chops special, chicken Parmesan and a French dip sandwich. The only item which disappointed was the French dip. The roast beef was on the dry side. But the other three entrees were prepared very well and were generously sized! Service was outstanding - from the hostess to the bartender to our server. Sadly, I doubt we’ll ever visit Derby again but if by chance we are back this way we will seek out Vermont Pasta & Pie Company!

The main courses we had were all very good. Their Pizza on the other hand was cardboard.

Food was really good, service was also above average. I have a young child who kept waving and saying hi to the two hostesses who were kind enough to keep waving back and saying hi far longer than I would have in that situation lol

They messed up our order wouldn't fix it because they said " we've been in the restaurant business a long time so I would know when that happens" well it happened and you did nothing so boo on you

Great! Vegetarian and vegan options for pizzas (and a good cauliflower gluten free crust even). The maple salad is good too. And pleasant outdoor seating. Reasonable prices. Definitely would recommend.

Food was fantastic and margaritas were delish. $14 for a sandwich and chips is a bit high but with the price of everything I really can’t complain.

I love any chance I get to swing in to Vermont Pie & Pasta Company. I order the Bada Bing Shrimp to get started. In the winter months I grab a serving of the five onion soup. Love them both. The main dishes are just as pleasing. The staff is attentive and hustle to see that your not waiting long. It's a popular place so you should expect some wait times at peak hours but the food is worth it.

Nous partions de Montreal (Canada) pour White Mountain (USA) et nous avons trouvé ce restaurant après le passage de la frontière. Typique des USA, il y avait même quelques bikers garés devant à notre arrivée, les plats sont bons, généreux et diversifiés. J’ai pris une pizza prévu é « appetizer », à partager, et elle était aussi grande que celle que l’on trouve en France. Le personnel est serviable et attentionné. Je recommande

Vary good food and service and friendly people

Google does not offer enough stars for this review. My Wife and I had our wedding catered by VP&P and the food was phenomenal! Terry was great to work with, very professional, and help us decide exactly what we needed for our event. The value provided by going with them was far better than anyone in the area. We recieved two appetizers, a full entrée, two salads, bread w/ hummus, utensils, and to-go containers for ~$13/person, and there was more than enough food for all. Pro tip: always order more Bada-bing shrimp. They're quick to go and ridiculously popular! To end it off, our guests couldn't stop talking about the food. 100/10 recommended

Fabulous pizza LOADED with toppings. Boneless chicken fingers had very tasty sauce but very, very breaded and very little chicken. They seemed frozen/packed. Service excellent and prompt. Environment clean and inviting. Would visit again.

We arrived by snowmobile at 8:10 pm on 2/14/22. We previously had made 7:30pm reservations. Since we were arriving by snowmobile, we asked if it was OK to arrive late. We informed the person taking the reservation we might be late because of trail conditions and Vermont Pie and Pasta said, "absolutely not a problem." Well, we arrived frozen (it was 7 below zero) and had the door slammed in our faces and we were sternly informed that they closed at 8pm. We explained we had reservations for 7:30pm and had mentioned possibly being late. Again, he repeated "we close at 8. " No apologies, no explanation. No offer to warm up inside for 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the person who took the reservation around 11:00am at Vermont Pie and Pasta that same morning was not informed of their hours. Needless to say, we do not recommend Vermont Pie and Pasta to anybody who might be expecting professional, courteous service or hospitality. This is not the place I would recommend.

Horrible....Made valentines dinner reservation over the phone. Explained twice that we would be riding in on snowmobile and with varying trail conditions, we could very well be late. Was told "no worries, see you tonight". Reservation at 7:30, arrived a bit late at 8:10 and was told rather bluntly that they were closed. How can you run a business like that?! Without us, that's how. WE will not come back! One star because this will not let me post ZERO!!!!!!
