Been coming here for over two decades. Love this place! They still make a dish off of the VERY old menu for us. Food is always great. Service is professional.

Great food!! I especially enjoyed the chicken with vegetables. We had some meat balls as an appetizer and that was phenomenal. Only thing that can be improved is the bread that is given when you sit down and order. It’s basic white bread with no dipping olive oil or even warm spreadable butter at a minimum.

Wow! Our first time here and we will be back! What a wonderful treasure of a restaurant. It’s called “casual” dining but it’s nicer than most and has an old school feel. We loved it - service, food, everything was top notch. Cant wait to go back!

This is by far our go-to carry out or dine in place. This is the Gem of Downriver! We have tried multiple main courses that were all great…not to mention the outstanding dessert plater!

Downriver gem!! Food always delicious and generous. Staff super warm, attentive and owner welcoming. Sadly our favorite Pasta la Bella no longer on menu- our fav and always recommended to friends. I’m sure we will find other scrumptious substitutes. Ciao!

This place is amazing. The food, atmosphere, and service is always phenomenal. Our waitress Michelle was very knowledgeable and attentive. They wrap up your leftovers for you. They offer bread after ordering food. The owner and waitresses are really nice. The cooks are amazing. My husband had the Filet Marsala and I had the Cheese Florentine Ravioli with added chicken. We had red velvet cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious and the courses were all timed perfectly. This is me and my husband's favorite place. We recommend Vic's to all our friends.

I honestly can't remember the last time I came across such a great restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were well taken care of. Jacey was the sweetest woman, our waitress Autumn was also amazing! Our drinks, appetizers, main course and even dessert was absolutely delicious. 10/10 recommend, great place ♥️

We’ve lived in Lincoln park for 5 years and always drove by Vic’s but never went in…. Yesterday my husband and I had dinner here and OMG were we impressed! Not only was the service great but the food was the BEST Italian we’ve ever had. It’s a must try for anyone wanting amazing authentic Italian food. 1000% recommend!!

Every year my wife asks where I want to eat for my birthday dinner and every year I always choose Vic's. Everything that I order from here is absolutely delicious, especially the rack of pork. It's a shame they took the ribeye off the menu as I've found it hard to get a good one as of late, and theirs was good. Service is friendly and accommodative.

The phrase 'hidden gem' is thrown around a lot, but really that's what this place is. Amazing cooks and servers and VERY tasty food.

Have to make reservations, no parking, last visit was terrible had to park on the street the sidewalks were snowy and icy,my husband has issues walking had to walk a block. Took my mom for mother's day in 2020 and 2021 no need for reservations and opened early. Our last experience we were very rushed asked to wait on our dinner to enjoy a glass of wine next thing I know our food is there. We're not even there an hour and was shoved out the door. Too many people can't move around. Don't know why they changed their hours but a big mistake never again!!!!!

Been one of our Downriver favorites for the last 20 years, back when Vic would come to every table to say hi.

Hostess was friendly, service was great! Lemon caper salmon was delicious, desert selection superb! Highly recommend!!!

I visit that restaurant every two weeks but the last time I was there we were very rushed and felt like we had to pack up our food and go the waiter kept coming over every 10-15 minutes if we needed anything else we didn't order coffee at the end of our dinner like we normally would we just packed up and left other than that the food's excellent. They really try to get you in and out of there within an hour even though they say you have an hour and a half.

Vic himself was there on Valentine's Day when we picked up our takeout meals.

Food excellent server Jennifer very nice and helpful - very busy place when we were there at 5:30 on a Thursday - when it's busy you get your table for 1 1/2 hours - worked for us - we'll need to see if going at 3 pm not so busy.

Vic himself was there on Valentine's Day when we picked up our takeout meals. The parking lot was a bit crowded, but we managed to find a spot. I had an emergency bathroom situation and was happy to find they were well-stocked and clean. Our delicious dinners were ready very quickly and we were treated very kindly by Vic and his team. The lasagna was fabulous!!!

My boyfriend took me here for our 4 year anniversary. I loved everything about this place. The food omg!!! Is so delicious🤞🏾. We will be back soon!

Small quant family owned italian restaurant that never disappoints. It's definitely worth a try, but make a reservation. They are almost always busy.

I ordered 2 1/2 pans of Alfredo for my daughter’s first birthday! And boy it was a hit, everyone asked where it came from! They fill their pans FULL! And it was delicious! Communication was great setting up everything and pick up time was great they even did it in their non business hours! If you havnt tried it run don’t walk!

The food is always amazing. If there is anything wrong, they are always on top of fixing it. Service is great. Even at their busiest, I have always had great service. Be patient, if you have any issues politely ask any of the servers and they will let your server know you need something. Sometimes people are in too big of a hurry. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant. I would definitely recommend anyone to go. I also recommend you make a reservation when possible. It will ensure that you do not have to wait a long time. I have read other posts and I would say the negative ones are far from accurate. If you see empty tables, its because they are reserved for reservations. I understand this and have had to wait my turn. I would like to thank the staff and managers for always providing a great a experience.

First time at Vic's. Love the intimate feel of the place! Haven't had a steak in a very long time. Got the New York Strip and wasn't disappointed! Grilled exactly how I asked. Waitress was very attentive. A Southgate hidden gem! Reservations were required. it didn't disappoint! Will highly recommend it!

My waitress was good. The other waitresses were rude. Probably won't go again.

Best Italian restaurant downriver

The food is authentic and is Cooked to perfection. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I’d rather eat here then any other place in the state. And I’ve tried them all. 🤤

The food was terrible we ordered chicken marsala it tasted soapy water was rude called my boyfriend a name didn't check on us cashed out and still calling us names so disrespectful don't care about there customers

You don't have to have a reservation, but it's a lot easier to get a table.

Dining out is an experience and a vibe. The new hostess and the server that took care of us was so rude! We always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but it is definitely lacking. The energy we received made the experience and the food taste horrible!! We boxed up almost our entire dinner to go.

The man that I can only assume was the owner who met us at the front. We got nervous because he asked if we had reservations, and we replied no. We were visiting from out of state and really wanted to try this restaurant out despite their being closer options. The atmosphere was nice, we got sat in a corner which wasn't to bad. We didn't mind being close. It was a date after all! I ordered scallops, Moscato, and chicken and dumpling soup. The soup was really good, the scallops were good but the pasta was a little overcooked. The wine was amazing. They should do testers. If I had known the wine was that good, I would have bought a bottle instead of glasses. Notes for next time. Boyfriend ordered the eggplant parm. It came out and it was hard and chewy, not even remotely the texture of eggplant. The noodles for it were overcooked as well. We had to send that back, unfortunately, because it just wasn't even edible. He ended up getting the lemon caper salmon. It came out and was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and she was great! Sadly they don't do a military discount. Something they should think of for the future for sure. Would possibly come back to try other things, but I have many other Italian restaurants in the area still left to review when we go back up! All in all not a bad dinner though.

I can't tell you how much we love this place. This is the one downriver restaurant that is a must for dinner. It is a tried and true, classic Italian restaurant with ambiance, gracious staff and most importantly, stunning food. Just the smell as you walk through the door will tell you that it's the real deal. Their hours are 3pm to 8:15pm, Wednesday-Sunday so make reservations. Even the bartop is reserved, for a good reason. Take the server recommendations for the Chicken Tosca, the Pasta del Estate, Filet Brianna and of course, the Lasagna. Also the homemade Romano Salad Dressing is..."chef's kiss" This visit we ordered the chicken gnocchi soup. O. M. G. Run and get this if it is on the menu for the night. It is velvety, tender and when paired with their crusty bread, the proverbial October dish. Also ordered is the lasagna. Oh yes, this is the ultimate. Give Vic's a try, you will find it as your new Friday night dinner table.

Downriver gem! Some of the best food cooked on point at a reasonable price. On top of that, staff is very polite and kind. Even their cooks add personality too. Its obvious its a small business that works as a family that cares about what they are doing. Im happy to give them my business.

Best local spot to cure that pasta craving! The Alfredo is the best I’ve found in southeast Michigan! The chicken piccata is my favorite! Have yet to try anything from here I don’t like. The creamy Romano dressing is delicious! Friendly staff! It is a small place so I highly recommend making a reservation!

This place is so amazing 👏 The food was filling, delicious, and so flavorful!!! Their marinara sauce was a blessing to my taste buds! Cream of potato soup 🍲 was so yummy 😋 I'm one satisfied customer and we will be returning sooner than later. Reasonably priced, fast, friendly service. 🙏

This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. I have never had a welcome that wasn’t warm when I walked in or a meal that wasn’t quality ingredients and perfectly cooked.I can’t recommend this place more! My one critique (and, it’s minor) is that the bread that’s served pre-meal isn’t warmed up slightly.

My husband and I discovered Vic's about three years ago through a friend. We have been going back as often as possible. We find Vic's a real treat. We've tried several items on the menu and have enjoyed every one. The people working here are always welcoming and so very friendly. It is a quaint place and a relaxing time. We really love Vic's and recommend highly.

Simply the finest Italian food in the area -- a true hidden gem. While the service can unfortunately sometimes be subpar, I am usually very pleased with the wait staff and thrilled by the incredible dishes here! Very fairly priced and with a great turnaround time.

My go to spot for great Italian food.

This is the place you want to go eat! The staff is amazing. The food is some of the best we've ever had. It was our sons request for his birthday dinner. (My husband and I had never been). When I tell you they go above and beyond it's an understatement. You can't touch the homemade quality of their food. GO. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. ❤

You should make a reservation well in advance for this fantastic food experience. Menu has many choices to satisfy the duscriminating palate. They will, with in reason, make something not on the menu for you. A downriver must try.

Rack of Pork . . Tender and flavorful, veal was tender and beef Filet cooked to a perfect medium rare. Definitely going back and letting friends know about this gem.

Take someone you really dislike here. This place is a nothing attempting to be a something. Food not hot, mixed up order. Cater to regulars.... water was cold,,,, Would not recommend and certainly will not go back.

Whenever we have a sudden cause for celebration Vic's is our go to. Consistently great Italian food while feeling like a loving relatives dining room.

My wife and I kept hearing rave reviews about Vics but finally have the pleasure to dine her for the first time on Saturday. I ordered the BBQ full slab ribs and my wife ordered the Chicken Tosca. From the first bite on Saturday to the last bite of leftovers 3 days later, these were the best ribs I have ever had. Wonderful dining experience and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

A Downriver gem - Arguably the finest downriver (SE MI) Italian restaurant. Definitely in the top 3 including service, menu, bar, chef - everything combined it's all there. If after 5, Fri-Sat I recommend making a reservation.

Been coming to Vic's for several years and can say it is our favorite place to have dinner because the food and service is wonderful. Never leave hungry and without my leftovers in hand because the portions are a really good size. Chicken Tosca is our favorite but hubby loves Shrimp Scampi too. Always nice to be greeted by Vic when we come in. Have to say they all did a wonderful job during Covid with carry out orders.

Outstanding Italian food. We ordered a chicken marsala. I wish I would’ve taken the photos. The garlic bread with the added, mozzarella and tomato is out of this world.

Was put on hold for over 10 minutes, called back and was directed to voicemail and then called again no one said anything and was put on hold for over 5 minutes.

We love this place ! Great date night place. Not so much for kids. As many times as we have been there, never seen any kids. Great service good food ! Usually in and out in 40 mins. Or less. I do recommend making reservations, it is very small on the inside not alot of tables or booths.

Vics has been a favorite since before it was Vics … 25 + years of consistently delicious and affordable meals and too notch service. One of our favorites Downriver.

Was in a few days ago and once again Vic's is THE BEST Italian for 30 miles (and yes I've been to every Italian in the area). Had the eggplant parm this time, wife got fried ravioli for first time and loved it. This is the only place outside of Italy have found as close to a perfect eggplant parm as you can get. Great Job Vic! FYI - Call ahead for a reservation, they are usually packed at dinner time.

Amazing! Best italian restaurant around downriver! Vic, the owner is very involved! The cooks, waitresses and host are hands down fantastic!! Romantic setting, candle light, wine and alcohol list is big! If you haven't tried, you should make it a must!

We dined here about 2 weeks ago for the first time, and we had a wonderful experience. We've heard good things about Vic's and we're excited to try it out and we were not disappointed! Our server Sherri was excellent; very attentive, kind, and professional. We were doing a date out of our Adventure Challenge book where we had to write down places we haven't eaten before and choose one at random. Then once we got there we had to ask the server their 2 favorite dishes and get whatever they recommend. Sherri recommended the Filet Marsala and the Pasta Pollo Pepperone. We said, "Okay, we'll take those" and she looked surprised and said, "Wait, really?". We explained to her the date challenge and she seemed to find it amusing as well. Her recommendations were top notch! The pasta pollo pepperone was a nice, light pasta with sautéed peppers and red onion, and chicken with a spicy seasoning. Delicious! Now the Filet Marsala... oh my goodness. SO tender and juicy, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The salads were not bad, but the dressings were too vinegary for me personally. We did have the appetizer of the cheesy garlic toast... it was VERY good. Now onto the desserts.... HOLY COW. To start, they have a beautiful tray of about 15 different desserts to choose from! We had the eclairs and the blueberry lemon cake. My man really enjoyed the eclairs, and we BOTH were in love with the blueberry lemon cake. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely be back. Thank you Sherri for your wonderful service!

No matter what I order it's delicious. Worth every cent they charge. I always leave Vic's full, happy, and satisfied. I recommend this restaurant. Cannot wait to go back. It's just as good if not better than a five star restaurant.
