Their breakfast is the best in my opinion, not a big fan of their dinner (mashed potatoes, & burgers especially) The people here are fantastic & the environment is great!

Decent food, good servings, awesome customer service

I got a breakfast dish while my boyfriend got dinner - food was good but not as good as I'd expected based on reviews. Gravy for the biscuits and gravy didn't have any sausage in it which was disappointing for a $7 dish with only two biscuits. Probably wouldn't go back unless someone else really wanted to go

Service was impeccable. I wish I remembered the servers name, but she made the entire experience worthwhile. She said she has only worked there a couple weeks, but she obviously liked taking care of people. I've had poor service lately at other restaurants and it was a huge relief to get this waitress. If I could give her more stars I would.

This is our go-to breakfast spot! I have not had anything on the menu for breakfast I didn't like. I highly recommend this place, and it is locally owned. Service is sometimes hit or miss, but everyone is always nice and friendly. My knock on the service is that some of the waitresses are more attentive than the others, this is not enough to keep me from coming here because in the end it's about the food! Recommendations for breakfast The Big Bird breakfast, the breakfast burrito smothered, any of the omelets, the pancakes, and something I get every once in a while, the denver omelet smothered in green chile.

I love this restaurant but honestly is the first time that i experienced this situation, i understand how busy can get but the manager of the restaurant needs to hire a busser because today everything was dirty and full of fly’s everywhere we couldn’t enjoy the meal or even just chill there, we ate as fast as we could and we leave, not the server fault but the restaurant fault. Was FULL of fly’s and they stand in your food even though you try to wave for them to leave. Really unpleasant experience… invest on the business little more, and the eggs and hash browns were dripping oil, steak was good.

First time diner. Food was good (Navajo taco and Reuban with side salad). The outside of the building looks newer. The inside could use a face-lift. It was generally clean looking, just outdated decor.

I have been to this place three times not l now and have not been disappointed. The fob here is always great and the service here is outstanding#

This place is great. My god the meals are huge, and I am not exaggerating. I got a BBQ Bacon burger. And had to bring half home. Do it people go there, you will not be disappointed.

I’ve always loved virg’s. The portions are huge and they have so much variety that there is always something I’m in the mood for.

This is your old time diner experience. It's a great place to meet our friends and talk and have some good comfort food. There is a large menu with something for everyone. The staff are all so nice and accommodate us in every way they can.

I ordered the pastrami burger with fries. Both were awesome. I think this is only the second time I’ve been to Virgs because I don’t live nearby. Now I wish I did.

There is a large heavyset dark haired waitress with tattoos that was flat obnoxious to a lady that came in and dared to sit in her section, that I can't believe Virgs allows this type of conduct . My husband and I after 15 yrs of patronage won't be back.

Looks like a dive but did is amazing. Very calm and happy atmosphere. Had the Chile rellano omelet. Delicious. Service is fast. Will be back.

We love this place for its service, and the pancakes are great for the kids and a good price. The variety of options is great as well. They have sea food, cafe classics, Mexican, and breakfast food. The fries need cooked longer but the tater tots are perfect. It is kind of an older place that looks like it could use some freshening up, but the art is fun. Lots of lighthouses, seascapes, etc. The bathroom needs work. Great staff and kind of an old town feel. It feels like the old diner you used to go to with your grandma when you were a kid.

I have always enjoyed Virg's. But the customer service I received today was horrible. In fairness. It started out fine. I ordered the 'Country Breakfast which was 2 eggs, requested scrambled well done. 2 Bacon, ordered crisp and biscuits and gravy. When the my plate came out, the eggs were cooked 'over hard' not SCRAMBLED WELL DONE. I pointed that out immediately. And the server just shrugged and Said they were scrambled and walked away. When she return a while later, with bill in hand, I again pointed out the eggs were absolutely not scrambled well, but we're cooked over hard. She literally huffed heavily, rolled her eyes (YES! Rolled her eyes) exhaled heavily and looked back towards the kitchen like she was forbidden to taken back any errors for correction and otherwise didnt even offer to do so. So I told her if all she was gonna do is huff and puff and roll her eyes I would express myself online. So here is where I am at.She walked away. Horrible Virgs!! I will likely never return to your establishment and will never offer a good review if anyone asks. What happened Virgs? You have always been a step above the rest. A favorite of mine! I am more than disappointed in my experience in your establishment today. While I was writing my yelp review, she came back and asked if everything was ok. I told her NO and would be leaving soon. Then she asked if she should have my food remade. NO! Its a little late now! This was the first time she offered to have the food re-cooked. When everything was already long cold and I was about to go. At this point, i would have been leary to eat anything being recooked after it took me addressing it 3 times and it not being resolved immediately when I was served. It was about this time, it seems that she made the other server aware. Because that server came and asked if she could do any including offering a discount. I declined and said I was leaving. When I got to the cash register, knowing that they all now knew about ny unhappy experience, the cashier (whom seemed be a charge) actually asked if I was gonna tip. OMH! Really! Not even, asking for me my version of what happened. I did tip against my wish to do so and Said I would never return. All she said, rather than try to address or resolve the issue was to say, that one server doesn't speak or represent All of Virgs and the server would be spoken to.. I almost laughed at her - having not even tried to address my poor service and experiemce, and I said, today it does. I turned and walked away. Here is a picture of how my scrambled eggs looked, I tried to eat them, but could not.

Went here for brunch after a long hike. We were seated promptly. Food arrived quickly and portions were huge. However, we ordered three plates. When We started eating we noticed that one of the plates had hair on it. We sent it back. Shortly after that we noticed one of the other plates had hair in it so w sent it back. We asked for one of the plates to be remade. Shortly after starting to dig in we noticed that it had hair in it as well. It’s a shame because the two people that were with me will never go back.

The portion sizes were nice from what I remember and the workers made it a good experience, but remember the blinds being pretty dirty/sticky and seeing bugs stuck to them and flying behind closed blinds sometimes. I'm hoping it's changed since I've been there last and is what's been keeping me from going back.

If you want all of below, then definitely go to Virg's: - "come-as-you-are" restaurant with a laid back old school diner type of feel. -incredibly extensive menu with a gazillion great choices from all-day breakast, to mexican, to sandwiches, to burgers, to fish, to smaller lunch plates (combos: main + side). - huge portions that will leave you fully satisfied - really, really tasty food - good prices and value - prompt, friendly service. I went there with my elderly parents. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My dad ordered the ultimate country breakfast, my mom ordered the lunch/small portion of fish and fries, and ordered an enchilada/burrito/taco plate with bean and rice that was absolutely HUGE. All of it was fantastic with wonderful service and at a great price. Will definitely be back! THANK YOU, VIRG'S! KEEP IT UP! - great, friendly service

The food was delicious! The service was the worst I have ever experienced. We went to the Taylorsville restaraunt. They were bugged that we got there 15 minutes before they closed. We offered to leave and come back another time but they said they would serve us. Our waiter was rude, and they started mopping the floors while we were still eating. Then I over heard the lady mopping say, "Will you just f-ing leave already" under her breath. Needless to say, we won't ever go back!!

The waitresses here are phenomenal, the coffee is strong, it's fairly priced . I wonder what we would do if this wasn't an option :) .

The portions here are enormous, especially for the price. This meal could easily be shared, but it was so delicious I had to keep it all for myself! If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. The service was excellent, and my omelet was prepared exactly as I ordered it, complete with hashbrowns and a large scone on the side. Absolutely delicious!

If you are looking for a spot that has a classic diner feel this is the place for you. The food portions were massive and the quality was awesome. I had the special breakfast burrito because it was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. Not only did it taste amazing it was absolutely massive. The sauce it was smothered in made a classic burrito unique and delicious. My wife got the French toast sandwich and it was also a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The French toast was cooked perfectly for it being a sandwich and the portion size was also large. Initially when we got to the restaurant we were nervous about the service because the waiter seemed a little uptight and gruff, but turns out he was pretty laid back and just a little no nonsense/blunt. Ended up being really great service and my coffee cup was never empty. I will definitely be coming back here and enjoying that burrito.

If you like dive diners then this place is fantastic for food for the person that is looking for breakfast lunch or dinner in the American restaurant cooking you can get it from here and if you feel like you want Mexican food you can get it here too and it’s good for the price and the food will for sure fill you up if you leave hungry it’s your fault.

Recently there food was good but the service sucked horribly. The server I swear didn’t know what they were doing. Didn’t check see if we needed refills on drinks and took forever on getting our check to us so we could leave.

I have not been to Virg's in awhile. Honestly I had not been because my husband went and said that things were a mess...But honestly who doesn't have a bad day. I thoroughly enjoyed the food the server everything. Lately it seems like a everyones pricer have got higher and portions smaller but not Virg's you still get a great bang for your buck. I love the Ham steak bone in ham is hard to find and the scones where great 😃

It’s Valentines night and I‘m writing this from Jim’s Restaurant down the street. I took my wife out and we thought we’d go to Virgs. Not knowing that they closed at 8:00 pm, we arrived at 7:55. The sign said open so we went in. Then the sign at the entrance said “Seat yourself”. So we sat at a table on the right hand side. A few minutes go by and nobody helped us or acknowledged us. Then the head waitress turned off the OPEN sign. A few more minutes and still no water or menus or greetings. They didn’t see us. We were the only ones on the right hand side. But there was nothing saying that that area was closed. Finally about ten after 8:00 I wave to the waitress on the other side. From halfway across the restaurant she yells very rudely and loudly, “We’re closed”. I said we had been inside for 10 minutes and watched her turn the sign off. Instead of coming over to us and asking if we could locate to the other side of the restaurant, she continued to bark out instructions that that area was closed and we needed to go to the other side. When we weren't being ignored for ten minutes, we were being yelled at in front of all the other customers in the restaurant in a loud embarrassing manner and very rudely. We left. Jim’s is great.

Waiter said she's been there for 2 weeks and didn't know the menu forgot half the order didn't get anything right never going back used to be my grandpa's favorite spot

Normally I love this place, but the last 2 times we have ordered from there, you guys have been forgetting our items. I just ordered online and my toast was missing and its too far to go all the way back for that, its just a waste of my money.

We used to hit virg's way back in the late 80s for the epic fish and chips. Was a small 2 table place with 1 guy behind the counter making his city famous fish and chips. Fast forward we thought we would see how this small shop is doing, and wad presently surprised. Nice and busy cafe, find your own table. Service was very quick, and with top notch attitude. Atmosphere wad pleasant, and good came quick to our surprise how busy they were. We were a little disappointed on the slightly burned toast bacon and the eggs not quite over medium. But that did not hamper our experience. We will be going back and trying again, may of just been a 1 off day, but we quite enjoyed our outing, even though it's been 40 years since our last visit.

My go to for breakfast when I’m lazy and don’t wanna cook. The special burrito always hits the spot (ham is my preference. Athoigh they offer bacon, sausage or mix as well)

French dip was very good, so was the fries. Place was very busy at lunch so a bit of a wait but the service was great.

My mom had the grilled bacon and cheese with tator tots. I ordered the Fish Cod Sandwich. I have never had a fish sandwich with bacon and cheese. The cod was dry and had no tarter sauce. The food was horrible and came out cold. The waitress's seemed angry and were slow to even offer more coffee. I remember when Virg's used to have great food and friendly people. Not anymore. The restroom was filthy with piss all over the toilet seats and floor. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Disgusting

They never fail to deliver a more than filling meal with a smile. The refills are forthcoming. The price points are solid. This is one of our go to placed to relax and have fun when we just want to have a solid meal dining out with friendly faces.

It's a different world out there. Hardly a place to eat you can't wait to get back to but Virgs in Taylorsville is definitely an exception!!!! Nestor the Chef is amazing and I would give him a 20+ Nestor makes the food so great that for sure you can't wait to get back. It is obvious he cares about what he does. Good place with lots of options. It gets very on weekends during breakfast time so plan on waiting for a bit. The food was good and the service was quick.

We love coming to this restaurant its not expensive and the food is always delicious we always bring family with us and never pay to much. The food is just great the special burrito is really big and really good 100 recommend

Food was delish and the service was great! The bell man who would clean up after gave my son toys to play with since he saw him playing with his silverware. I loved that so much then ended up letting him keep it. Our waitress was also so kind to us and on top of getting whatever we needed. Thx Virgs!!!

Good service, variety of dishes, well prepared

This is the epitome of a hole in the wall diner. It may not look like much, but you don't go there for the decor. You go there for the food! The food is delicious, and portions are huge. The menu has a bit of everything and it's all delicious. My favorite is their enormous pastrami cheese burger. You will be hard pressed to find better. Go check it out and thank me later.

I have been going to Virgs for years, it's gone down hill and have had enough for poor service and poorly cooked food, their cook is in training, yeah at their customers expense.

Virgs is a dive breakfast place. Good food but sticky tables and worn out tables.
