We had a fantastic experience here! Even though we arrived right before closing, we were happy to find they were still serving food. Jacob was exceptional, providing top-notch service, and the food was delicious—especially the po’ boys and chili cheese fries. The service exceeded all our expectations!

I came in late at night just as they were about to close. I don't usually like doing that out of consideration for the staff but I was really craving some food. The bartender and chef were kind enough to accommodate me and provided good service. I had the chili cheese fries and the roast beef po' boy.... OMG 😱😳 They were incredible. They both tasted so good. The food here is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. My compliments to the chef, he cooks some delicious food.

Very good but the fries are EXTREMELY spicy, impossible to finish them... yet no indication on that... very long wait... but friendly staff and not very expensive, the burgers were delicious!!!!

Got in town late and decided to give this spot a try. It was absolutely the right decision! The Fried Shrimp Po Boy was seasoned to perfection, even though I should have gotten it dirty. The Jambalaya side was very good and the Debris Fries were the total opposite of debris! I will come back here any time I am in the Big Easy!

I had Marie at the bar and Jess at the grill. The Hurricane Ann’s PoBoys are everything and then some the restaurant is rated for. Both Marie and Jess came by before and after serving me and getting me exactly what I wanted. 6 stars for customer service !!

Marie was our bartender and she was fantastic. Our drinks were fantastic and service was great. I had the beef sandwich w/ gravy and had to take a moment after the first bite. The bread is incredibly soft and chewy, the beef was tender, and the gravy was to die for. By far one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

We were initially going to another restaurant for a po’boy but they were closed. Something made me say let’s try this place and boy oh boy we’re we glad we did. The food was delicious! Marie was so friendly and helpful and Jess’s talent in the kitchen did not disappoint! The flavor and aroma were intoxicating! I wanted to eat more! It was dynomite! Restrooms were rustic but very clean and smelled good and so was the atmosphere. I hope we can make it back for round two before we leave! A definite must try

Hands down the best poboy in NOLA! The dirty shrimp poboy- interesting combo that you didn’t know you needed. Marie was great and super friendly! I’ll definitely make this my go to spot when I’m in town

This was a really great experience! The combination of ingredients of the 'dirty shrimp poboy' was a delicious REVELATION, coming from a foreigner's palette. If you're after good food and friendly service, this is the place for you. I'd give more stars if it were possible.

Cool place to eat and have a few cold ones. Not too crowded. The bartenders are very friendly.

I came down here from Tennessee to explore New Orleans and a few other states. Someone on the street recommended Voodoo Tavern. The experience was phenomenal. I was a young man named Kobe. He was really lively and answered my questions without getting frustrated. He made a few jokes in a very welcoming way and the food was GREAT. I want to travel back to New Orleans just to see that young man and the tasty foods. I can tell he’s a very hard worker. Thank you Kobe and Voodoo Tavern!

Voodoo Tavern and PoBoys was pretty good. I was a little worried when we went in around 8pm and there weren’t any other customers there and none came in while we were there. The food was good though. Wife said her shrimp poboy was better than most she has had. I had the debris fries and the beef on them was pretty flavorful and good. All in all, I would recommend the place.

First time to NOLA and my friend wanted a Burger Voodoo Tavern that was the first place with a burger popped up so glad we stopped. Bartender was great and the food was amazing. We got the all American Burger w/cheese fries and was on point with flavor. We also got Crawfish Etoufee w/Jambalaya was so yummy. Haha didn't think to take a picture of the food 😅

I had a bad Poboy experience at a different restaurant my first time in NOLA...but this place had such good reviews that I had to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. The food here was so fresh & delicious. The bartender was friendly & the cook was hands on asking you how you wanted certain things. I will be going back here everytime I visit.

Shrimp on poboy was over fried and hard to bite into as well as over salted. Space had a bland vibe and music consisted of overplayed pop songs. There are so many better places in new orleans to eat and hang. Don’t be lured in by the inflated reviews.

Touristy place, a bit noisy with just a few high tables. Po boys were the best we had in New Orleans, I really enjoyed the dirty shrimp!

Foods good - service sucks. You don’t need to wait half an hour for a sandwich that takes 3 minutes to assemble.

The bartender Marie was awesome, the BLT I ordered tasted great, and the bar is welcoming. I got the Hurricane drink at another bar and it was horrible compared to here! I'll be back again soon!

Roast beef and shrimp poboy was incredible! Jambalaya was very solid. Marie was a fantastic hostess, and very friendly. This stop is absolutely worth your time!

If you like McDonald's, you'll like it here. Self-serve, self pick up, self dispose, so don't waste your money on a tip. I ordered the shrimp Po Boy, and the aftertaste from the rancid grease lingered for a few hours. It was my first time in NoLa, and I could not understand the rave about Po Boys or the rating for this local place.

French fries terrible. Poboys inedible, very salty. they did not have the pork poboys which is a special. Even the sodas tasted weird.

Great food! I tried the shrimp Poboy and voodoo fries- definitely recommend. You order at the bar and pick up your food at a window. The bartender was super friendly. Definitely recommend!

I'm glad I decided to try this place despute it being a hefty walk from my hotel. The shrimp po boy did not disappoint. The shrimp were sizeable and plentiful. They were fried to be perfectly crispy yet were still moist and tender. The bread and dressings were spot on and the pickles were a nice touch. The waitstaff were friendly and the atmosphere on the bar was nice. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

My wife and I were visiting for a wedding, and hadn't been to New Orleans in many years. The food here was fantastic! Holly the chef even came to our table with a sample of jalapeno grits she made and they were so good! Marie took great care of us from behind the bar also and was super friendly - would 100% recommend!

Poboys were pretty good, nothing mind blowing but fairly tasty. Would have wanted just a tad more meat on my roast beef. The shrimp one was full. Service was great, the bartender was very busy but still got around to us. We sat at the bar because the place was busy as its a staging spot for a bus tour so there may not be a lot of seating.

Food was good, but the wait is crazy. The group that ordered in front of me was 6 people and they took about 45 minutes to get their orders. Mine took about the same. The “chef” cooks one sandwich at a time and may be the slowest of all time ever. You can have a faster lunch in Paris.

Dirty Shrimp Poboy was life changing, you. will. not. Be disappointed!! and I’m native born LA boy. It’s incredible.

My favorite place to stop by in the French Quarter! Food is always great and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly. It captures the spirit of New Orleans perfectly. Go see Jacob and Holly the next time you find yourself in the Big Easy!

Holly makes an awesome Cajan mix and I’m for Key West and I know about Cuban mixes and her is damn good!

Meh food. Seems expensive for what it was

I ordered delivery from them and spent almost $80 just for food to be missing from the order and the other food to be messed up. The only thing they got right was the fries. I tried to contact them for a refund on the burger and they never called back. They acted like it was my fault and there was nothing they could do. Waste of time and money going to this place, I recommend Willie's Chicken Shack.

I was originally gonna go to Mothers Po Boys but given the line I didn’t want to wait so I came to Voodoo Tavern. This place is a no frills low key kinda bar and the bartender was a friendly funny guy. The chef appeared to be drunk and was very slow but the kitchen was tiny so i understood. The Shrimp Po Boy was absolutely delicious it was crispy and well seasoned. The jambalaya was also great. The price was decent and I had a great experience.

This place is way over rated on Google. Watched cook do everything but cook. Po Boy was mediocre at best. Don’t waste your time.

This is not a 4.8. Food was very generic, had a poboy which was dry and nothing special, jambalaya was average and uninspired and fries were how you’d expect them to be. Food service was slow, and atmosphere was quiet and empty. Nothing I would give 5 stars. I don’t usually review much but this wasn’t a 4.8 so it makes me question some of the high reviews which have very similar write-ups.

The fried shrimp poboy with the addition of some of the available hot sauce and mayo was amazing. Exactly what is expected and why we came here My husband and I shared a small and enjoyed it so much and we're hungrier than we thought so we ordered a second.

The po-boy is nothing to write home about. I got the fried shrimp - dry and overdone. Just a little bit of sauce, one slice of tomato. Service was aloof at best. Price is high like the other places in the French quarter. Not sure how this place gets such good reviews.

Visiting from Seattle and found this gem in the French Quarter. A good reprieve from busy Bourbon St. Jacob took care of our beverage needs, and Holly took care of our appetite. Try Jacob’s Swampwater concoction.

Not a big cafe but certainly gets crowded fast when they get a tour group ready to go. The hurricane drink was ok but not strong. The food was ok. The decor was interesting. Be careful when visiting as some of the tour group guests can be pushy.

We ordered 5 dirty shrimp poboys and had 5 satisfied diners. Really good.

Jacob and Holly were so AMAZING! The sandwiches were enormous, delicious, and FRESH! The vibe in there was on point, they even changed the music up to West Coast rap for us Californians lol

The dirty PoBoy is the best PoBoy I have ever had. The roast beef melts in your mouth, the gravy is perfect and the swiss cheese brings it all together. I ate it so fast i did not get a chance to snap a picture.

Was excited after seeing the good ratings but sadly can’t relate. The Buffalo Chicken fries were smothered with buffalo sauce and a few scraps of chicken, burger was ok and they did replace my fries without an issue so I gave them another star for that.

We popped in for lunch on a weekend and really enjoyed everything we ordered. It was a cold day and we just wanted to have a quick sit-down meal without braving any line-ups. Voodoo Tavern fit the bill. We shared the Dirty Shrimp (roast beef & shrimp) poboy, crawfish etouffee and jambalaya. The poboy was made fresh and had tons of flavour. They come in 2 sizes (regular & large); they were sold out of the large but the regular size is still plenty of food. The shrimp had a great crust. The jambalaya had a nice kick to it. Great pit stop! Even though we didn't order any drinks, I noticed that their Hurricanes are made with real juice, so I'd love to try that next time.

Delicious sandwhich! Sadly their fryer was down, but what I had was awesome. Service was good, but I came midday so I can’t speak to whether it gets a lot busier at night.

My wife and I decided to eat here while waiting to go on ghost tour. We placed our order and they forgot to turn order in. 20 mins later I asked about it and found out it had not been turned in. On a $55 receipt we were charged an $18 tip. Considering there was NO service.....seems like an extraordinarily high tip...OVER 30%. Food was OK, but experience causes me to NOT recommend anyone dine here

Service sucked bartender disappeared after taking our order and the cook was just dancing and eating while she was cooking. We ordered two sandwiches and two sides and the place was empty, we waited patiently for 40 minutes. The food was not worth the wait. I would not recommend.

We waited here to catch the Ghost Riders Nightime Cemetery tour! The food, service and ambience felt fun and so authentically New Orleans!

We went right after they opened, so there was no one in the place besides us for most of our meal, so we had nearly no wait for our food and drinks. The young lady behind the bar was really nice and attentive. My husband and I split the Voodoo Fries and Voodoo Burger (add jalapenos) - all of it was very flavorful and cooked well! I also recommend getting the Voodoo Juice! This was a great place to grab a bite to eat and get your drink on :)

This was where I tried my first PoBoy and I have to say, I was not disappointed! The shrimp was perfectly seasoned, the bread was crisp, and the veggies were fresh. Sorry for the lack of pictures—it was just that good!

Passed by New Orleans for dinner on our way to Florida and came across this tavern! Jacob was our bartender and server. He was great he recommended a dirty shrimp poboy with grilled jalapeños (worth it) and ghost margarita! We added a crawfish ettoufee which was also good! Highly recommend the place. Ask for Jacob !

I rarely leave positive reviews, but i was really impressed by the kindness & hospitality of this staff. What we ate was really good too. We came across this place after finishing up a long ghost tour and walking towards Bourbon st. and wanted a little snack before boozing it up. I had my daughter and dog with me and was just gonna grab a poboy to go, while they waited outside. My daughter needed to use the restroom so i asked if it was ok to bring my dog in for a minute, and they said it would even be cool for him to stay inside if i chose to stay and eat here. So i decided to grab a beer as well and had a nice conversation with the owner or manager (sorry i forgot your name bro) as i waited for the food. They even cooked a burger patty for my dog, who usually doesnt even eat or like ground beef. He killed it. Both me and my daughter tried it, and It was a really good patty, i was very surprised by the quality of beef, and out of the 4 other places we went for poboys during our 6 day trip in NO, this was one of the best ones. And I'm not just saying this because of the hospitality. This place was not on my radar of places to eat, but I will make sure to visit every time I'm in the city to try the rest of their menu. Gems are hard to find. Establishments like this are the places that deserve business. Oh.. and allowing my dog, who's not a service animal inside, isn't a normal thing. So, don't go getting all mad at them if they dont allow your dog in. Great job guys, keep it up👍

LOVED this place. It’s a cool atmosphere and really nice staff, but the knock out seller is the food. OMG, SO good. We had a roast beef and shrimp PoBoys and the crawfish etouffee… if you’re in NOLA, come here… seriously, just do it. You will not regret this choice.

We made a decision to come to this restaurant not because of any reviews but just because it was close. Best non decision we could have ever made. The chef and food was unbelievable the service was absolutely amazing. Worthy of 10 ⭐️’s.

Adding this place to my favorite list! It’s quite small inside & there was a wait for the food but it was WORTH IT. Some of the best food I’ve had all 2023, truly. Give this place a shot if you’re in the area!

Coming from Atlanta, and coming to voodoo tavern was probably the best choice i did. Buffalo chicken Loaded Fries are 100000/10 good. Thank you to the cook, she knows how to make a great dish!
