We love Wallace’s. Friendly and welcoming staff. They have a well stocked convenience store. Their pizza and sandwiches are delicious!

Wallace's has a little bit of everything, and they're friendly as well! I really appreciate their presence because it means I never have to leave town when I'm here.

Most of the food that comes out of the deli is to die for. If you order ahead by phone the food is usually ready in less than 20 min. Just go to the deli to pick up and pay on the way out. The prices on the food are exceptional for the quality. They also have a wide variety of drinks in the cooler. They also have some items that you may need like a regular convince/grocery store. Great staff makes this a worthwhile visit. They also have gas if you need it. Card and cash are accepted.

A nice little place to get your basics. It's about convenience store prices. I always get a whoopie pie when I go. Sometimes we order lunch there. The staff is always friendly.

We just moved here from Northern California. So great to have this handy well stocked market 10 mins from where we are currently renting in Cushing. Market staff are kind with magic humor. Wallace's Market is a hidden gem! The lobster rolls are AMAZING! Super fresh and on a grilled and buttered round roll, which I really enjoy. They have a great assortment of snacks and a really good craft beer selection. On top of all of that the staff are amazing! Thank you!

I was buying my favorite "indulgence" food after an ocean kayak. The only time I feel I deserve a red meat sandwich, it comes is Wallace's "Steak Bomb". This is a steak and cheese sub with peppers and onions and it is excellent. The best I ever had. One morning I arrived at the store anticipating a long kayak, saw a steak and cheese in the holding oven. I asked if they were fresh that morning and aghast, the chef informed me, rightfully, that they would never put anything out from the day before! Of course I should know that. Living in Chicago since 1984, where if you don't check the expiration dates you might get something a month old, I realized that this is why people are called "from away", when they travel to Maine. Things are just better in Maine. Of course, I should know that. In spite of not actually being from away (I went to Medomak HS and 2 years of college at USM, was a Moody's Diner waitress and even a 1976 Union Fair Blueberry Princess). However, once you experience the nitty gritty of the city, well, you forget how real hometown care comes. It comes from Maine, and Wallace's is the epitome of the real quintessential Maine. Don't miss it! You can take the girl out of the city but you can't take the city gritty cIt is a great place!

Wow, what an amazing place. It has everything. The best sandwiches and great pizza! Grabbed a lunch and explored the little village of Friendship.

They have EVERYTHING! Seriously. Great coffee. Pastries, home cooked food, produce, grains, wine, beer...everything!

We made several trips to this local market while visiting Friendship for the weekend. They are well supplied with everything you need. Fresh produce, dairy, wine, beer, charcoal, etc. They also have an awesome deli with really good sandwiches if you’re looking to pick up a picnic lunch.

Their tiny sign advertising lobster rolls should be 10X larger because, man, is that thing DELISH. Lobster fresh off the boat (probably from the docks 1/2 mile down the road), a buttered, toasted roll, maybe some bread crumbs. That's it, I think. Fantastic. Top-five easily. Great store, too, with lots of prepared foods, very good wine selection, a variety of craft beers and way more provisions and produce than you could imagine fitting behind the tiny little storefront. Given the quality of the food, friendliness of the staff and beautiful drive down to a lovely harborside town, it's worth a side trip from the surrounding mid-coast towns.

Wallace's is at the end of a peninsula south of Warren and Waldeboro, and it is well worth the ride if you like these special lunch counter/lunch room grocery stores. They have a great menu and our favorite is the haddock melt sandwich on a soft burger roll. The haddock is great! The people are friendly; of course it's in Friendship.

From contact lens solution, bug-bite cream, haddock, or celery, you can get it all at Wallace's. Wine, paper goods, fresh yummy breads-it's all there. Terrific haddock, btw! It was so convenient to have Wallace's up the street from our vacation rental. We didn't even have to go into Waldoboro or Rockland to Hannafords. Now that's a treat.

This place is great, the food is amazing, the prices are good. ypu cant beat it , you wont be disappointed if you stop by , that's for sure. Highly recommended

Small, historic convenience store. It's more expensive than a big grocery store, but since Friendship is a small town and the nearest store is at least 15 minutes away, it's good to have for when you only need one or two items. The people are friendly, and they also have a small summer gift shop for tourists.

I was taken by a local to this cute little store. All kinds of great things at reasonable prices. The food they served looked really good.....I didn't actually have any....but it smelled great in there and looked super fresh. All kinds of groceries and health and beauty products and cleaning supplies. A nice assortment! Stop in and have a look! The carrot cake looked great!

The best little general store/deli in the Universe. You name it, they will probably have it at a reasonable and fair price.

A local, family run business, Wallace’s is an excellent resource to the community—acting not only as a grocers market, but a pseudo general store, complete with a fulling functioning deli and take-out service. The staff is also excellent—preparing sandwiches, lobster rolls, and pizza, while always making time to connect with their customers, most of whom they call friends.

Why I love Wallace's Market:. Because they have Susan Price who is the best cook in Maine & therefore Wallace's has super good take-out food.

It's one of those small groceries near the end of the road where you must have lunch! We each had haddock sandwiches, deep fried to perfection, with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. I think haddock, cooked right is better than lobster. Give it a try. They also have hoagies of many types, cold and hot. The food service truck had just unloaded an amazing amount of food for such a small grocery. The boxes were piled on the one table, but we moved them aside and ate surrounded by fresh delivered food. Folks were friendly.

This is a great local market. They have almost everything that you need. They have a good selection of cheese, meat and fresh produce. They have some special items like Trail Mix, nuts, dried fruit and some local made treats. Wallace’s also offers pizza, sandwiches and fresh made specials. Good Ice Cream section and the people are very friendly. They will help you with anything you want made or tell you were to find it.

We came to Friendship to see the museum, which we could not find. We stopped here to get lunch. They have high quality groceries as well as deli. There is an interesting painted table, painted by the owner and cool chairs. (See photo). They have lots of sandwiches they will make for you and lobster rolls. You can eat here at inside table or picnic table outside in back. We bought salads (really nice man made them) and we asked the cashier where we could sit by the water and eat. She told us her favorite place. The staff is so friendly! And food good.

We stayed in Friendship this week. This store/restaurant was exactly what we needed each day. We were able to go in and get pizza, sandwiches, and amazing lobster rolls. They carried snacks and a wide variety of drinks. This place made our stay even better. The employees were friendly and it was obvious the locals love this place too. If you go to Friendship, don’t pass this gem up.

Such a great market! They have a very wide selection of things, especially drinks. I went there for lunch and got a very tasty meatball sub. They also will make sandwiches. They have a table near the back of the store where anyone can eat. Overall, a great experience and I definitely recommend it!

We loved our stay in the quiet little town of Friendship and Wallace's store was what made it so memorable. The store itself had a little bit of everything from basic supplies to organic specialty items. We loved the local baked tri-berry crumb pie, bread, donuts and other baked goods, as well as the fresh produce. The restaurant offered the best crab roll I ever had ( I think the fresh toasted buttered roll was the difference.) We also enjoyed their lobster roll, hoagies, burgers, chicken tenders, fries and onion rings. The pizza looked good and is on my list of things to try as well. Food is available for take out and there is also seating available in the middle of the store.

What a great place! I wish I lived in Friendship so I could go in there everyday and catch up on who's doing what. I was staying in a vacation rental nearby but otherwise I would never have found this gem of a place. They have any missed ingredient you forgot to pack and need at the last minute, all the way to fresh in-store ground meat and sausage. A guy walked passed me with a slice of pizza and it looked really good. As I ordered a breakfast sandwich at the counter at the back, the man cooking was also pressing out some dough for another pizza. I was very impressed! The local flavor was seeping out of the walls of this cute little shop, restaurant, carryout, pizza place, you name it, they've got it. Out front they've fashioned lobster pots into chairs, where a man sat reading the paper. The whole place inside and out screams real deal Maine with none of the tourist tinged bs that can permeate other parts of coastal Maine.

We got the pizza, which was very good. My son and I are not seafood eaters and my family was eating at another place in Friendship that didn't offer much in the way of nonseafood items. The staff was attentive and quick to make our order. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Wallace's is a wicked good little store, ernie and all the workers are always friendly & helpful.The sandwich meats,cheeses, and steaks and stuff are top of the line. And the prices are very reasonable for a store down at the end of the world. Thanks ernie and helpers you definitely make my life easier.
