Good! but overpriced salmon sandwich...sadly, them reviews bragging about great WHOLE BELLY CLAMS were bogus. Just another restaurant that passes off fried clam bits & pieces instead of the full whole-belly. Guess FLO'S in Newport, RI is our only hope.

This was great for an outdoor lunch. The food was delicious! The shrimp was succulent and the whole bellies were excellent.

We were very disappointed. First we went on a Thursday to get the three lobster roll special. When we arrived for lunch and wanted to order the three lobster rolls we were told you can't order that until after 4:00. I said your website said nothing about that. They said yes it does. Ok so we ordered one lobster roll each . My husband was disappointed with his lobster roll. Mine was Ok. We ordered clam chowder that came in a plastic container with a top. Like it was to be stored in a refrig. No plates or bowls like it shows on the website. We did eat in the dining area. After getting home I looked up the website again. There is nothing about Thursday three lobster rolls are for only after 4:00. Will not be going back again.

Shrimp, clam strips,and whole belly clams excellent. Service was great. Not a fan of their cabbage salad.

Seems like they go after the NY tourists clientele only. No more byob. Simple shrimp cevich ( 3 small chrimps) served in plastic cup $20

I can not believe in all the years I've lived in Litchfield county that this was the first time I stopped here. I love seafood & came here after kayaking for the day. I brought my son who has a seafood allergy & they were able to make his burger with fries no problem, he didn't feel the least bit irritated (sometime he will hive up). They have a full bar & seating is all outside. I can't wait to go back.

For this type of establishment the atmosphere was pleasant. Service was quick and courteous. Food was good, but IMO overpriced.

Quality of food has really gone down this season. They now put this awful sweet and sour sauce on everything even though you request it doesn’t get added. 3 times disappointed now and will take this of our regular visit list

We ordered 2 salmon club sandwiches. They came out very rare and were sent back. We were told new sandwiches will be made. After waiting 20 more minutes, the new sandwiches arrived and now each had the smallest piece of salmon I have ever seen served. They were lost on the buns and a fraction of the size of the first raw filets. Bringing this to the managers attention did nothing for us. She offered to have another piece made (another 20 minutes?) and added to the sandwich which we said wasn’t an option. We won’t be going back again, it was quite pricey and any establishment that charges the prices they do and sends out portions like they did (especially after the dishes were sent back for being undercooked), is not a place we will patronize.

The owner, bartender and lady taking orders were very nice. Our drinks (pina colada) were delicious, HOWEVER, the food was horrendous. The clam chowder was bland and it was more like potato soup. Fried fish sandwich, mahi mahi tacos and even the lobster roll were just bland too! We ended up throwing away most of the food. I am confused about all the positive reviews. Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here!

Delicious food with very friendly and helpful staff. Sat outside on the tent covered patio on a beautiful day. I have no idea if they even have an inside or not. Pretty good beer selection also! I would definitely go back when in the area. FYI- they are no longer BYOB, though some older popular reviews say they are. They have a good full bar.

Best clam strips around. Food was fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly. And corn hole! Beautiful spot!

Heart time with my family Everyone enjoyed there meals .

We had a small party of six. My wife and I received our meals in about 30 minutes from when we ordered it. I thought that was a little to long. The other four in the party received their meals an hour later. In total they had to wait an hour and half to receive their meal from when it was ordered. On top of that, no one came to our table to ask if we wanted more drinks while we were waiting. When we questioned the delay they said they were short staffed but failed to mention it to us when we were ordering that the servings may be delayed in getting out to us. We had to pay up front so we had no recourse but to wait it out.

Updated Review for 2024 I'm very happy to say that West Shore Seafood seems to have made a great comeback. Food quality is back up, with everything seasoned nicely and cooked well. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again this year!

Amazing employees serving delicious food! The lobster roll was perfectly toasted and full of delicious lobster meat. I would eat here every night if I could. The employees were also very kind, and made sure every patron has a good experience.

Omg, rarely do I rave. Tried this place for the 1st time today, sampled the Special: Honeymoon tacos- grilled swordfish topped with pineapple mango salsa, avocado with a cilantro on me cause and drizzle of hot sauce. Freakin' AMAZING!!!. Yummy shrimp appetizer..friend had wonderful clam strips.. Revised 5-19-24 5:45 p.m. no line. Announce 20 minute wait for anything. Hell no!

Eating delicious seafood outdoors at West Shore Seafood in Morris is the best of summer in Litchfield County. I love being outside at the picnic tables and having the space for kids to play on the lawn. My favorites, are the grilled salmon, lobster rolls, fish tacos and seaweed salad. They even have a few menu items for the pickiest of eaters in case your kids aren't seafood lovers.

Great summertime treat. Be prepared to wait, bring an appetizer to snack on. They take their time preparing food and it’s worth it!

We love this place. Order before arriving, if you can, because everything is made to order fresh and a 30 minute wait isn’t unusual. The fried shrimp and crab cakes are fantastic. So is the tuna. Outdoor seating only.

Delicious lobster roll! I have been going here for years, the food is great. Roadside ambience. It can be pricey, hopefully that speaks to the quality of the seafood.

Great food, good prices, very very nice people. Was just here the other day, 9-1-2023 had tried to get there sooner from last time! Anyone who complains is foolish. We don't live near an ocean and food is very fresh and great. I had oysters and i know it totally is awful to shuck them, but the person who did itwas great! If you are complaining about the wait, COME ON! What time of the season did you go? When all the tourists come out? The ONLY COMPLAINT I have is that fool who puts up foul language signs on the way there and I wish my grandchildren were not subject to that. Not the restaurants fault. Thank goodness, we turn our heads and enjoy the wonderful service and the BEAUTIFUL outdoors, not trashed by other garbage. And the wonderful stop for ice cream at Aruthusa! Another great place!

First ever visit in early August on a recommendation from Winvian Farm staff. Awesome seafood experience in Bantam Lake area! Delicious entrees with something for every sefood fan. Swordfish sandwich, seared ahi tuna and seaweed salad are outstanding. Noticable casual community vibe under the tent and on the lawn. Local gem for regulars, very worth the time for visitors.

Been wanting to try this little gem for a while right by Bantam Lake. I had the whole belly clams and my wife had the fried oysters both delicious. The lobster biscuits not something I would rave about but ok. They are always busy so plan on waiting. We got here early with plenty of seating and still had to wait 30 minutes for our food all and all I say it was worth the wait. Keep in mind. They are open seven days a week but they do close from 3 o’clock to 4 o’clock for a break and do not serve during that hour.

Great shrimp po boy and lobster roll!

Pricy, but we were craving lobster rolls and did not want to drive to Abbotts. Lunch was tasty. For the price though, the lobster rolls were not at all generous, but lobster meat was good. We got two order of onion strings which were very large. One would’ve been sufficient for 2-3 people to share. My hubby had the tuna sandwich, and enjoyed it. We did not know you could bring your own drinks, and it looks like some folks had brought their own adult beverages and side dishes. Beautiful rural setting. I have service a two, only because it’s counter service and the counter person was kinda of not friendly or welcoming. He was an order taker. I’d definitely go back.

My weakness is their shrimp tacos, which I absolutely love. I get them grilled and it has corn, cabbage, cilantro, and their Chipotle sauce. Staff is friendly and helpful and the parking lot has lots of room. Nice outdoor area when weather cooperates, plus there is a window to order and a little market inside. I order ahead just for convenience and they've never let me down. It is wheelchair accessible, too, so fear not!

I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was cooked way to much. I couldn't even break it apart. It was disgusting

When I went there, it’s a window like a carvel. You place your order and get a number. When your food is ready they call out the number. You retrieve your food on a school kinda plastic tray and return to a wood picnic bench. Lol. I can’t make this up. It gets funnier. They have a white wedding tent on the grass, no water anywhere near. Fortunately I live local and returned home and ate poolside. I can’t believe FOX61 had them on their show today. I doubt Matt Scott has ever been there. BTW I don’t see ahi tuna on their menu currently, though it was promoted

First-time visitor this afternoon, most definitely going to be a regular customer. Excellent food but not absurdly priced. Atmosphere is ok, although we were glad to have dressed warmly for the outdoor dining.

This was written up as one of the best places for lobster rolls in CT. I can put on a better spread at home. The rolls were not toasted or buttered and meat was cold and sparse, did not come with warm butter. The New England clam chowder wasn't hot or tasty, more like potato soup. The staff was good and that's about all I can say. Very disappointed. My receipt # 7zV5.

Nice atmosphere and staff are friendly but I was waiting for my pick up order 20 min over the 1 hour wait time they told me and I was not impressed with the food. The food is definitely fresh but there's no flavor. I got the lemon cod dinner and there was absolutely no flavor to it, they didn't even give me a half of a lemon wedge and there was no seasoning just Ritz crackers sprinkled on it. I have eaten here a few times to give it a fair shot and I haven't been satisfied with anything I have ordered.

We thought we'd be having dinner on the lake...not. A roadside shack/seafood market. Old broken down picnic tables & porto potty. For the food, the kid forgot half our order...chowder was good but not hot & hot lobster rolls were good, not great. Could've had more meat, butter & better roll. Sorry, I don't like to give a less than good review but, I'm being honest & I read reviews for where to go, etc.

Update 5/25/23: Everything was excellent. Great place to stop when out for a drive. Stopped for lunch after touring the Litchfield Distillery. Fish was really good; chips were a little soggy. Honeymoon tacos were excellent, as were the crab cakes. Stop here and eat with the locals!

I ordered the Lobster Roll. $29.00. I t was th worst Lobster roll I ever had. And this is a seafood restaurant. I have had a Lobster Roll at the 99 Restaurant that blows this place out the water. Just bearly enough Lobster to cover a few crackers.

We went on the perfect spring day and at an apparently interesting time. They were taking photos for their website and there was a photographer from Litchfield Magazine there at the same time. As our food was coming out of the window a photo was immediately taken of it by one of the staff members (maybe an owner or manager) and then by the Litchfield Magazine person right after. I do have to say, it came out looking really good and photo worthy. Anyway, after all of the hubbub and I was sat down with the food, we were very pleased. My wife got the soft shell crab sandwich special, I got the clam strip platter and we got the calamari to share. I had asked for onion rings to be substituted for the fries in my platter, but I still got the fries and I saw where I was charged for a whole side of onion rings after sitting down and not the up charge as the person at the window had stated it would be. The food was very tasty, but I think the onion rings and calamari could have spent just a little more time in the frier to crisp up a little more. Other than that, we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back.

If by "west shore" they mean a mile from the west shore of the lake then the name applies. We have heard about this place for years, we finally got there. What a disappointment. Unless you are taking food home or to the lake the atmosphere is dismal, a tent with picnic tables in a pasture with port-a-potties. As to the food, my wife had a way undersized lobster roll for an oversized price. I had an oyster po'boy which was made of 6 fried oysters drizzled with a sauce which had no taste. Both are served on undersized hot dog rolls. Be sure to bring your own drinks as theirs are really overpriced. Overall it was a very expensive experience you do not need. There are many better seafood options than this. I am not sure it even rates a 2.

Seafood sandwiches we enjoyed were QUITE good, so we will highly likely be back on our next visit to Litchfield environs.. (😉🙏🤞)

Very good seafood. Batter on both the fried shrimp and fried oysters was nice and light. We sat outside as there was no inside seating. It’s BYOB which is fun.

Food used to be good, but fried food is sold cold and soggy. Lobster roll was cold. No butter on it. Fresh is….. okay, but it’s sold at an exorbitant price that demands a good quality product. They don’t produce a good product. They are trying to cheap out and live off a formerly good reputation. Last night I watched a female staff member emerge from the kitchen to scream at a customer. Yes, scream at a customer. I don’t care if the customer is dead wrong, that is not right. They seem to have no desire to stay in business. I won’t be back. I don’t want to have the staff scream at me too.

Always fabulous. Grilled shrimp tacos are my favorite but anything you get here will be awesome. SO to the shrimp jalapeno poppers, yum!

Don't have to go to the Shore and be disappointed ,come here for the best seafood, even beats RI!

Love their fish tacos. Seafood is expensive everywhere, that's just the way it is. My GF and I had a nice light lunch that didn't break the bank. We each had tacos, some light, crispy cabbage salad, some unsweetened iced tea, and we shared a shrimp cocktail (6 shrimp). It was all delicious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I haven't sampled that much of their menu, but I'm fairly certain that everything is good.

My family first tried out West Shore Seafood a few years ago, and we ended up really liking it! You get some delicious fried seafood, with a very picturesque outdoor seating area. You do wait a little bit for your food to come out, but given the food quality, it's worth the wait. The fried clam strip dinner is absolutely delicious, some of the best I've had. There were a couple things I was dissatisfied with. The fried calamari and onion rings weren't too crispy and a bit too soft. The prices as well are a bit too high, and if you have a big party, it can be a very pricey meal. Other than those complaints, I've really enjoyed my time here, and would come back for more!

Omg I almost died of old age waiting for my food, s lobster roll and fries for take out was 30 minutes. Warm peach iced tea was the worst thing I ever drank. The gazpacho was inedible. I never had warm Cole slaw but there’s a first time for everything. All that said, the lobster roll was delicious. The fries had some kind of nebulous coating that wasn’t good. All in all two stars for the lobster is all I can muster. Don’t order anything but the seafood and you’ll probably be fine

The jalepeno shrimp is literally two jalepenos. Their "platter" is an appetizer size. No lobster meat in the bisque. Way too overpriced for what they serve. I included a picture of the food as it came and then a picture of it all on one plate. Over $80. Never again.

Beautiful outdoor grassy area with wooden picnic tables as well as a covered tent with seating. Perfect on a summer night, BYOB, got take out but ate there because the scenery was so nice and the energy was good too, fish tacos were delicious and so was the carrot cake. Will definitely be back back next time with some chilled Prosecco and a big appetite.

Took the family there for Mother's Day. Food was delicious and had a blast playing corn hole.

Cool place! First time going and while I do like some seafood, just not all of it. Still the Angus burger was cooked to order. Nice that it's a BYOB scene. Maybe for the next time. Heated tent is helpful for those cool evening's and picnic tables out back.

Could not make it to Provincetown this past summer. Needed something to make me not feel sad about that. West Shore Seafood worked. Only thing missing was the ocean breeze.

Casual seafood joint that is a local favorite!! Great atmosphere and staff are awesome! Have a dip in the lake and then hit this spot for a great lunch! Only downside is that their batter needs some tweaks. Could be 5 star with just a little effort. Wish they would let me in that kitchen 😎

Excellent seafood stew and southwest salad at lunchtime.Returned for a lobster roll and ahi tuna for dinner. Even better than lunch which surprised me.

What a great place just a couple miles away from home! I always drove by, but never made the attempt to stop and try it out. Yesterday I took my mother in law and daughter for lunch and was presently surprised. Pricing was fairly priced for seafood and the portions were great. We both got the fish tacos and my daughter the kids cod fish bites. Her order was huge which was great as we left with some left overs. Seating was greatly spaced under a tent and they also had picnic tables on the lawn. If you’re looking for a hidden gem seafood place go check them out! I will surely be back this summer.

Been driving by for years and finally stopped by for lunch for the first time. Wow! Food was delicious. I had the chicken tacos with a side order of cabbage and my wife had a cod sandwich with fries and a clam chowder. Everything was delicious. They had a tented and non tented outdoor seating area. The place was clean and the employees were very nice. We will be coming back again.

The food is great (except the Cole slaw) I wish they had a choice of slaw. The staff is always certeous and nice. Our last visit seemed like the picnic table area was a dog park. Maybe they could create a section for dogs. We will continue to visit.

Probably the freshest seafood your gonna get. Everything is made to order. Lobster rolls and clam strips are awesome. My wife had the clam chowder which was very good. My suggestion of tour coming with a date grab a bottle of wine to drink at the outdoor tables. It’s worth the wait.
