Had the pineapple cake family from Memphis brought up as a hostess gift to us here in Newbern, TN. A slice of HEAVEN! God blessed the hands that makes those cake. Divine! (purchased at Bogie’s in Memphis.

No place is perfect but this place is pretty close. The rib sauce is awesome!! And the banana pudding, OMG!

Got some cake here and it wasn't as good as the last visit.

Absolutely disgusting. It looked like dogfood. The pork was obviously boiled and then thrown on a smoker for 30 minutes. They had no beef and apparently no chicken. Second time giving this place a chance and never again

Great place for lunch . Great service from the staff .The jumbo with fries was awesome. I like how who ever owns this place has a real love for model trains as one rides around the whole place and there are others that look like they used to run them but don't anymore but it really cool to see something like this , reminds me of the 80s and 90s when people actually had hobbies that didn't evolve a phone in your hand. Well if you're in the area I highly recommend this place .

That pulled pork looks like it comes straight out of a bag, bbq should be smoked for hours. They call this bbq in Mississippi? 😅

Really enjoyed eating here. You go in order your food at the front and then they will bring your food to the table. Would recommend the cheese plate. It was very enjoyable and had enough on it to be a meal by itself. The atmosphere was great, and the train going around and around the entire building was very entertaining to my kids. Especially my one year old. He kept saying pig because they had a stuffed pig riding on one of the box cars. The food came out fast and fresh. They have a different array of BBQ sauces for you to try as well. I got the Philly Cheesesteak because we had BBQ the day before, so I wanted to try something else, and it didn't disappoint, and the fries were cripsy as well. Then, if you're not full enough from all that food, you must try the pineapple cake. It was amazingly good. Definitely will be going back

We were there in November to pickup cakes for a wedding. I bought a pecan, coconut, and chocolate pie. I ask if they could be frozen you told me you didn't know how meringue would be after frozen. I love, love, LOVE this restaurant! Looking at it, or driving past, you wouldn't immediately think it's all that much (I didn't realize it was a restaurant for the longest time), but the food is amazing, the cakes are to die for! We were driving home from FL looking for a spot for lunch, I searched for BBQ and this was perfect! Counter ordering and then your food is brought to the table. Make sure you check their hours since they aren't open all the time. Their facebook page is pretty reliable! Also, don't be worried if they are packed full. We usually grab our food to go since we don't live too far away, and it never takes them long to fill our order!

We got the BBQ Nachos , they were wonderful. We have gotten their cakes too, they are amazing!! Can't really choose which cake I like the best. But the Banana is one of my favorites.

We tried the rib plate and chicken plate. Each plate comes with 2 sides of your choice. Neither the ribs or the chicken had any smokey, pit like flavor. Nor did they have any rub or seasoning that I could tell. The ribs were tender and done, but the chicken was a bit mushy. The meats appeared to be cooked in an oven instead of a slow smoked pit. A disappointment for southern bar-b-que. One of the sides we had was coleslaw. Very bland. Although interestingly decorated inside, complete with a model train that travels around a track suspended from the ceiling, that didn't help the flavor of the food. If you're looking for real, slow cooked bar-b-que, You might want to try another place.

We were traveling through New Albany when we read several of the reviews and decided to stop for lunch. We were so happy that we did...really good BBQ and a great place to relax for an hour. We both ordered the BBQ Platter which is pulled pork sandwich with 2 sides. The pulled pork was smoked to perfection and it was moist...not wet or dry. The taste was just perfect. We ordered as sides beans, slaw, potatoe salad and fries. All were really good. We unfortunately got full and did not have room for the cakes or pies which look just incredible. The couple sitting beside us recommended the Carmel cake. It did look delicious! We will go here again.

My wife and I have frequently enjoyed the delicious barbecue at Westside and highly recommend it to anyone who loves pork barbecue.

We enjoyed our visit. Loved the atmosphere but the food was amazing. You simply can't leave without a piece of chocolate pie. And the carmeal cake is over the top. You will not regret this visit.

Worth the short drive off of the highway. Meaty St. Louis style ribs, two sides, drink and toast for $12! Excellent cake too. They were out of pie, sad. Would return.

I've been going to this place since I was a kid. It was here that I decided to like souther bbq. I was a little picky when I was younger. That's pretty much changed. I personally love the pulled bbq pork with their rib sauce. The meat has a nice smokey flavor and is pretty lean. I wish that they would have a bit more crisp on their ends. But, not a big deal. The rib sauce has a sweet and tangy taste. But almost as much as their bbq, I love their homemade pies with delicious meringue. The chocolate is my favorite, but the caramel, coconut, and pecan are all amazing as well. This is a great little spot in a nice little town in North Mississippi.

This place has some great pig! All types of pig and homemade deserts! What more could a southerner ask for?! Really cute train display that makes its way around the length of the restaurant! 🐷

The food is really really good. Pies are to die for. People are nice. Try the potato salad too...so yummy as well.

I've been coming to Westside since I was very young and I have to say, it's some of the best BBQ ever. The desserts are to die for!! Get the caramel cake, you'll love it

the food is very southern and authentic to 'real' smoked barbecue. sides are very good & sweet tea is just right. service is a little slow so if you want it fast...call and order ahead.
