Hidden gem...plz check it out, u won't b disappointed! Great value...this is homemade food at its finest. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes w gravy is a stable...the desserts r to die for, plan on taking half home as they're large portions I ordered the tenderloin however, they were out at the moment. A few minutes later the chef / owner was chatting w us and sent her apologies...impressive!! The fish is fresh and cooked 3 different ways to your liking, so sweet! Kindness and a relaxed professionalism are the M.O. It's a large establish, the main part is a 1950ish cabin w original rustic charm... The hours r wild...11am to 3pm...Fridays from 5pm to the fat lady sings, says the sign out front. We have traveled for the past 3 years and dined in a lot of beautiful restaurants...this rustic, throw-back spot is a must see, worth the visit...live music and lots of space to dine and dance outside. Perfect spot for sports get together, parties etc...see u in the fall when we r back!

No place for cats when you are eating and they had to many while eating outside. The food was good and service is excellent. You do need a reservation to eat inside.

We had the Art of Shrimp and the Philly cheese steak Hoagie and that was delicious. The pistachios cake was decadent! You must have if you go there.

The experience was disappointing. Despite making a reservation for Mother's Day, we were initially seated in a high-traffic area. When we requested to be moved outside, it proved to be a poor decision as the outdoor seating was plagued by flies and numerous stray cats. The food was also subpar; the Gouda burger I ordered was bland.

Very casual outdoor dining, but high quality food. Frequented by the local residents, not a national or even regional chain. Our sever must have had a bad day, but he did fine anyway, if not very to talkative. Normally a breakfast - lunch place, but it had just resumed dinner service the week we were there.

I was meeting my friend in Homestead because her car broke down and looked up the dog friendly restaurant and I was so happy to have found you guys. We had a wonderful lunch fun place to go to and we will be back.

Every time we go, we leave happy. The atmosphere, people, and food are all good. The servers are super nice, and genuine.

We went last night an the food was terrible! Very disappointed! The worst ever. Cooks didn’t try a bit to make it better. On the menu they said for example, Gouda cheese and they put American. Food cold and like thrown on the plate. Horrible experience. My friends and us were all disappointed. We just tried it and left everything. The worst!

Very disappointing. Food took 45min to get to our table. When arrived, it was cold and tasteless.

Our party of four adults showed up about an hour before closing time and had an amazing dinner! We had a few mixed drinks, a ribeye steak, a new York steak, a burger, and the pot roast; all our food was outstanding and the service was fast and attentive! We also shared a hot fudge brownie with ice cream for dessert! This was our last meal for the trip; we stayed a week just south of Miami and rode our motorcycles all over the Florida Keys, this meal at the White Lion Cafe was the best of the trip!

Small and cozy old restaurant in heart of Homestead. I had the special of the day Blue Cheese hamburger with bacon served with French fries. A must try if you in the area. Leave room for their yummy large cookies.

The White lion is a really cozy little spot west of krome off of 312. The menu changes each friday aparently. I had a burger which is actually now my favorite burger. It was cooked just how i like it and was loaded with onions and mushrooms. And at $15 you cant beat it. The only think i would recomend to the owners is to put on some kind of background music if your local artist doesnt arrive. Other than that, my family and i loved the place and recomend it to everyone we can.

We live in the Redlands and there are not too many good local dining spots. We've been going to the White Lion for a long time now and the food and atmosphere is always consistently good. The only negative is the lack of consistency with their hours. For my birthday my partner and I called when leaving work on Friday, to confirm what time dinner was over and the lady who answered said "last seating is 9pm." Now I come from the restaurant industry so last seating means the last possible time you can sit down and be served. Welp we arrived at 8:30pm and they locked the doors. Really? All I wanted was a Philly & a yummy piece of pistachio cake for my birthday... total bummer. Other than that all good.

HEALTH WARNING!!! Extremely high priced cafeteria food at best. Except, cafeteria food is better. Went Saturday for dinner with the family. The fact that it took 1.5hrs to get seated when there were plenty of tables available still blows my mind. The starters came with cold processed jarred tomato sauce as a dipping side, this was already a bad sign. All four meals were undercooked to an unsafe temperature and served. 1. Well done burger came completely raw, chunk ground beef, send back to the grill and still came a strong medium. How hard is it to cook a Bubba burger? Yes, burgers are 100% frozen. 2. Second burger came raw, was sent back. 3. Steak literally came to the table purple, which is a sign of old steak. Wasn't looking safe to consume at any temp, including well done. 4. "Organic" "grilled" chicken, not smoked. Came to my pregnant wife pink. At this point the waitress sighted at us like it was our fault and we were giving her a hard time. What did they do to change the chicken? They threw it in the deep fryer! It was no longer the same dish. Now my wife had FRIED chicken. Thanks chef! Bill was $160! STAY AWAY!!!!!!! Whole place is sketch. Cook doesn't know what he's doing. Drinks are served outta red solo cups. Waitress didn't care to ask how anything was or apologies that all four meals had to go back. STAY AWAY FROM THE WHITE LION!!!! Place needs to close down. Stealing people's money. You try to support local and you end up with $160 in old/bad cafeteria food. Generous portions of food you don't wanna eat. Would absolutely love the manager to call me or reach out through here.

This place has a super chill vibe. On Friday nights they have live music. Unfortunately they were short staffed that evening. That did not change the food being spot on. Great place for a date night or just hanging with friends. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Should be zero stars. Waited 10 minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. Understaffed big time. Finally got seated, nobody waited on me for 10 minutes, I was gone !!

The food is always fresh and delicious. In addition to the main menu, they have different specials every day. The atmosphere is fun and they decorate for the holidays. The staff is so friendly!

Coming home from Key West, traveling to Osceola County, google helped us find this gem off the beaten track. Having lunch here was the highlight of our 7 hour drive! I had the tuna sandwich with fresh fruit on the side and my love had the meatloaf with vegetables and mashed potatoes. WOW! Everything is homemade. Wish we had dessert. They are masterpieces. Sounds like a simple lunch but words cannot describe how unique, fresh and flavorful this lunch was. It’s true, the minute you walk through the front door, you’re greeted with a charm and friendliness that doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Nicole was our waitress and she was perfect! The indoor dining area is immaculately clean and quaint with interior decorations that make you feel right at home. It was way too hot to sit outdoors, but the patio area was huge and adorable. White Lion Cafe, we have friends that travel to Key West from the north and I promise to tell everyone that your place is the place to stop. Thank you for being the BEST! See you soon :) xoxo

The food is delicious. The service is excellent, however, if you claim to open at 11:00, but proceed to open at 11:20 that isn’t exactly what I call professional.

Love, love, love this place. My friend, a lifetime local had never been here! Wow! Always fresh food, farm to table! Very quaint inside and outside seating. On the weekends they have live music sponsored by the local arts groups! Come by and check it out!

This was a hidden gem for us! The service was OVER THE TOP. The food was nothing short of phenomenal! Our 7 party group all got something different, and after sampling each other's I can safely say the only bad choice you can make is not going here! OH, and definitely don't skip on dessert!

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at the White Lion Cafe and could not have been more impressed. From the moment we walked in the door, it was clear that this was a special place. Not only does it allow pets, which is always appreciated, but the ambiance was lovely. The decor was tasteful and created a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home. But what really stood out to me about this cafe was the food. It was absolutely delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor and the presentation was impeccable. The food exceeded all my expectations, and the dessert was ultra delicious !!! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. Lulu & Zarina went out of their way to make sure my husband, Bruno and I had a memorable experience. Lastly, the location of this cafe is perfect. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood of Homestead, there are air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned facilities, the outdoor seating offers a beautiful view of the entire courtyard. All in all I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and memorable local experience. Overall, the White Lion Cafe is definitely a hidden gem worth visiting in Homestead, Miami.

This establishment is undoubtedly one of my cherished hidden treasures in Homestead. Its ambiance effortlessly transports you to the comforting embrace of an old country home. Without fail, the cuisine served here has consistently been excellent, pleasing my palate on every visit. Moreover, the servers go above and beyond, showering guests with their extraordinary friendliness and willingness to accommodate their needs.

This place truly is a hidden gem in Homestead. It's tucked away but the food is amazing and the service is great. My husband had the Brutus Burger and I had the fried chicken, both dishes were hot and fresh and we agreed that the food was the best we've had since moving to Homestead over a year ago. Prices aren't bad either, next time we will try one of the housemate desserts!

We've been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. It feels like home (literally). The restaurant is a house nestled in the heart of Homestead. It's charming, inviting and warm. The food is FRESH and the portions are plenty. What I love most about this place is that they're food ALWAYS tastes fresh, as does their iced tea. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you're thinking about a "trendy evening" then this is NOT the place. BUT if you're feeling for delicious, FRESH, homemade kind of food and an overall charming atmosphere, please, please, give this place a shot!

Everyone was happy with their meal. I got "The Real Deal," which was their version of a Philly cheese steak, made with their homemade beer cheese. This was quite possibly the best Philly I've ever had, and would say it beats Philadelphia's. Not certain if this is a regular menu item or just this weekend, but I would definitely get it again.

Been living in Homestead for a decade but only just checked out White Lion Cafe this week. My litmus test for a new restaurant is always their burgers...and WOW what a pass! My mom got the Romanian Tenderloin and that was delicious as well. 10\10, will visit again!

Based in few years ago, never came back. American food average, the service for us as Latinos was TERRIBLE, I saw how the server treated American vs Latinos, it was a huge different.

The food is good, when it's available. The online menu is never accurate. And make sure you call to see that they're open because the hours on their website are just as bad as their menu. Also, while the food is good the prices are ridiculous. $19 for a damn BLT is robbery.

The hidden Gem of Homestead! Great staff, great food!

Never knew this place existed. Cute establishment. Very friendly wait staff. Very laid back. Specials and dessert menus are written on one board, so you may have to wait a few minutes to see them and it took a while to order, get our meal and pay. We had 2 specials... the Rachel and the Ghost Burger. The burger was juicy but lacked real flavor, which was surprising for something with horseradish, onions, and peppers. The Rachel was good, but the bread was soggy, making it difficult to eat as a sandwich. The pasta salad was really good. For dessert, we had the blueberry cobbler and the brownie. Personally, I prefer my brownie to be dense. This one was very airy and cake like. The cobbler was good. Something else to note, we sat outside where 2 cats had free reign (laying and walking around, not jumping on tables). I happen to love cats, but if you dont, you might want to sit inside. They also do a 10% military discount.

Food so good you will need a nap to recover. Get the desert. Just do it. Fabulous little hidden gem. I will be a repeat offender here!!

We came because of the good reviews. This place is totally charming, we ate on the patio with the great decorations. Food was excellent, as was the service. We left smiling at our good choice!

This is one of the worst places I’ve ever been to. The service sucked and the food assaulted my mouth. Ive worked at a restaurant for years and I never would have served someone like that. She barely stopped by and the food was Horrible. Also, the server forgot to serve me a salad despite me ordering one… it was bad. Really really bad. It was the worst money I’ve spent in a long time. Save yourself the hassle and go to McDonald’s there’s better food there

If you haven't had the pleasure of finding this hidden gem, then you've been missing out. I have loved this place and all their food options which are all home made and delicious for many years. They have live music on certain nights and their desserts are divine! Shout out to their coconut cream pie! (Coconut cake was not pictured because it was so good we forgot to take a picture of it before we enjoyed it!) Their portions are always generous and beautifully presented.

Very unassuming wonderful restaurant, kind of off the beaten path. But once you arrive, there is plenty of parking you go in through the beautiful little door and find a romantic, casual, lovely indoor restaurant, with a huge attached, covered patio, all decorated beautifully. The menu is sophisticated and absolutely phenomenal. I had yellowfin tuna on a bed of angel hair pasta with the mushrooms and spinach husband had veal piccata. Each dish got a fed to people. The servings were very generous. The presentation was fantastic. We had a appetizer of calamari with marinara that was excellent. Well, the best parts was the fantastic staff. This is a professional train staff. They know what they’re doing. They’re so welcoming we have brought our little Scotty puppy. He was sitting at her feet. He had a water dish so fast they took fabulous care of us this was 20 minutes from the Everglades campground . The pictures don’t do it justice. They have an extensive dessert menu we were so full that we took a one piece of chocolate strawberry cake home with us.

Arrived around 1:00 for lunch. Some open tables but told they would seat us in a bit. Sat at table for a while before they took our order. Drinks were brought right away. The waitress brought our food but we had no napkins or silverware, I asked for them and she said just a minute, she was adding up someones check. Proceeded to eat, silverware and the napkin came. Food was good but service not so much We got the check, she took the CC card rang it up with a different amount from another table. Don't they look to make sure that the correct amount is put in from the check given? It was not a good experience.

Amazing place very laid back atmosphere, we were a party of 4 adult everyone order something different and not one of us had anything to complain about it. The fish was very fresh. The desert was amazing.

Dined on Friday December 30 . Was greeted, seated and served drinks easily.. Stuffed mushrooms were undercooked and I was served rear skirt steak when I requested twice medium rare .. unfortunately our waiter never asked us if we wanted another drink. The last concern is as our food arrived a cat visited me And proceeded to rub on my legs .. unfortunately we will Never dine again at the white lion cafe

Came in today for the first time and will definitely come back. I got the 3 mile club and my husband had the Philly. Both were large and delicious. I'd love to try a few more things from the menu. They also had specials of the day. The staff was very friendly but not super attentive. Don't get me wrong, they weren't bad just need to check in a bit more frequently. It's a very homey atmosphere with lots of knick knacks. I didn't sit outside but the patio seemed cozy and I'm sure is fun on Friday when there is music.

Great staff. They really worked to accommodate our group on a very busy night. Dolphin picatta was fresh and tasty. Full bar and lovely margaritas. Lovely outdoor dining and great live music at a level that we could converse and enjoy the music. THIS IS the place to eat in Homestead. We came from out of town for a running race.

First time eating here after just happening upon it while driving through the neighborhood. I'm glad I stopped to try it. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The food tasted fresh and delicious. I will return and probably bring others with me.

Group of 5 randomly stopped at White Lion Cafe for a late lunch. Every single bite was delicious, lunches and dessert. All fresh homemade food and excellent service. We had a nice chat w chef Laurie, an added bonus. A hidden gem w indoor and outdoor seating and really cool cozy decor. We all loved it.
