I grew up with my parents going here all the time, one of my favorite places by far.

Ordered 2 large chocolate banana shakes for my wife and I. We both gave them 2 thumbs up. 👍 👍 and the price was very reasonable. We've heard the sandwiches, etc are excellent also. We will be trying other menu items soon. Stay tuned.

Took the family here on a road trip and enjoyed most of the food. I think I had high expectations of the date shakes bc of other reviews, but was pretty disappointed. It's just vanilla ice cream, milk and dates. I didn't feel there was anything super special about it. The turkey sandwich was yummy. The quesadilla had a lot of ground beef on it, which my 5 yr old didn't expect lol. We loved the backyard seating and ambiance. Overall an ok experience especially with the prices being a little steep for feeding a family of 6.

Amazing workers. The daily specials are to die for & don't get me started on there date shakes.. num. UPDATE ,went back again yesterday, called in advance to make sure they would have enough stroganoff. Again best service amazing workers. I always feel so welcomed there. So worth the drive of over a hour ☺️

What an awesome place. The date shake was out of this world - you can taste the real dates, I ordered a small and should have ordered the largest size possible! They also had tacos, sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. I tried a chicken and ground beef taco and both were great. There is this an eclectic, comfy patio out back to enjoy your food, and they also sell convenience items and arguably the best beef jerky ever. We stayed at Joshua Tree and it was worth the drive 100%. I cannot wait to come back!

Come here for the date shake!!! Stay for the vibes 🥰 we didn’t have a taco but regretted it later after seeing others eat them. The shakes were fantastic, not too sweet. The people working there were super nice, we got several pounds of fresh dates to go. We will definitely be back!! Stop to check out the incredible wing mills on your way out of north Palm Springs.

This place was recommended by a lady at our RV park. Never would have known about it otherwise. Amazing date shake and wonderful tacos with fresh, crisp shells. Beautiful little sitting area in the back. Don't hesitate to stop by for lunch if you are in the area.

This is an old school, small town grocery store. It is located by the huge windmills and across the street from a trailer park. The surroundings could hardly be worse in the valley. My wife and daughter did not want to get out of the car. There is almost no parking. Inside, the ambiance is functional but not inviting. For those who are brave enough to go inside, the staff is pleasant, easy to talk with and very helpful. Their date shakes are easily the best around and it isn’t even close. Yum!! If you want a high quality date shake and don’t mind a bit of a drive to a less than wonderful part of town, you definitely want to go to the Windmill Market.

Omgoodness. What a great find...this is a little hidden gem! Date shake was delicious (sweet but great) & the sandwich was amazing! Meatloaf was the special of the day & smelled divine...wish I had room for both! Lol. Cute back patio is a little glimpse of peaceful paradise.

Best date shake ever! Freshly made and you can taste real date! They also have tacos, sandwiches and ice cream too. The price is really reasonable and everything is made fresh on the spot. The staff is super kind you get that homey neighborhood store vibe . They also have a little eating area in the backyard of the store for you to eat and relax. A true hidden gem in the Palm Springs area and I always come here when I pass by.

Service was good the guy in register was kind n sweet the garden was so cute I saw Garfield n hitclif the date shake was yummy 😋 I lived in Coachella valley for 30 years n was my 1st time trying a date shake n was delicious the only thing I didn't like was the rude guy in the cowboy hat who told me when I was looking at the stickers he rudely said BUY I ALREADY!!🤷‍♀️😂 was like ok willy Nelson chill old guy 😂 but was cute n cozy

Great tuna sandwich. Love their dates. They were so friendly to give us samples of the dates so that we could make our pick: dates rolled in oat flour. These are so good in trail mix or as a snack themselves and so affordable here! Loved the patio and orange cat out back We stopped by twice during our stay in Palm Springs.

The date shakes here are so GOOD. Depending on your tolerance for sugar, one shake could easily be shared between two or even three people. The vanilla ice cream and blended date mix was so insanely sweet and rich. Must try.

Even if you’re a local here in town I suggest you go by the Windmill market. They got delicious lunch specials every day. Their service is very professional and very friendly. They have a selection of great foods to choose from let alone the market itself has a lot of different variety of topics and sodas and foods and choice. If you can make, it’s the stop to go to.

I came here looking for some meat to buy but they didn't have any but I ended up getting a date shake which is their signature item here. I would highly recommend the date shake, its super gas and the people here are very friendly. The one I got was 24 oz for 6.50.

As a little kid Mom and I always came by to get food for home and date shakes! Still here in the Nps Hood. They have helped feed families for yrs! Mobile home park and the community can get groceries here plus a great deli! Very nice owners always there to help! Thx!

The date shakes are amazing! It's a small, unsuspecting grocery store with a cute courtyard. You might walk in and think you've arrived at the wrong place but one slurp of milkshake and you'll be sure you're in the right place. There's a few parking spots outside or additional at the side of the store.

If you are looking for a good, chill, no frills lunch, I highly recommend this spot. I had an egg salad sandwich and a date shake for lunch. Both were really top notch. I also bought some water bottles and chips, which were all very reasonably priced. The eating area out back is really cute backyard garden. Staff are all really nice.

Came for the date shake and dates, was not disappointed. Perfect after a long day of walking and sight seeing. Definitely worth the drive north of Palm Springs. Place also has a cute backyard to sit and enjoy your treats.

Loved stopping here on our way to the 10 freeway from Joshua Tree. It was only a little bit out of the way. The date shake was yummy with perfect thickness and not too sweet. Bought some Barhi dates as well and they are very addicting and soft. Staff was sweet and knowledgable and they have fair prices. My husband and I plan to come here every time we head to the high desert.

I just love everything about this place . The warm welcome you get when you walk in , the daily homemade dinner specials ( try the pot roast !) Just like Mom made , the hand made shakes and the sheer variety of items they gave stocked is just amazing . Check it out , you won't be disappointed !

The workers we interacted with were extremely friendly. We came here to try ‘the best date shake in the desert’. It was our first one ever so I’m glad we got to try ‘the best’. I ended up purchasing a ‘butterscotch root beer’ as well even though I don’t even drink soda usually.

We stopped here for their famous date shakes, and we were not disappointed! They were delicious! They have a menu that includes sandwiches and other fare, and the store sells groceries and drinks, too. There is an outdoor seating area in the back that is fairly well protected from the frequent high and gusty winds in the area. A great place to stop for a snack, a shake, and some relaxing time in the garden area

Found this hidden gem near work. I wanted something that wasn't fast food and locally owned. First time going I bought their burrito and wasn't a fan. Second time going I tried their turkey sandwich with macaroni. Solid choice, tasteful with fresh ingredients.They even have a outside patio so you can sit down and enjoy your food.
