Stopped here out of the blue this past weekend. It's definitely a stop to make without the hubby! They had beautiful flowers for the fall. I could've taken many. We stopped because we like to try homemade creamiers. Loved that they small containers in a variety of flavors so we were able to grab a few. They have a food counter, fresh produce, meats, baked goods etc. And super nice people!! That makes it worth it.

My friend would take my sister and I to Windy Knoll for the best ice cream anywhere and we would spend more than we thought because everything there was so delicious. Definitely go again. GO!!

Best ice cream ever, good food, great service.

On our obligatory local creamery outing and we chose a good one on a nice Labor Day Saturday. Windy Knoll has a large farmer’s market with a food counter and their own ice cream brand. Good, creamy ice cream, moderately priced at $3.99 for a single dip. My go-to coffee ice cream was nicely flavored with some crunchy bits, my partner’s triple chocolate had a nice dark flavor. Food service seemed slow - the line didn’t seem to move while we waited our turn for ice cream. A couple at the food counter at the same time we were, got their food long past the time we finished our ice cream. Our line was slow - one scooper who also rang up the purchase - but not as slow as the food line. The best and unique part is that their customers are welcome to sit and enjoy their patio furniture for as long as they want. There is also a small slide/swing set for little ones. It was a nice day so we just sat on one of their gliders and hung out for another half hour. The furniture is for sale and even though they’re out in the elements, they were clean! We’ll come back on a weekday to try their food. The fried chicken looks really good!

The ice cream is fantastic!!! I got a milkshake and hand dipped ice cream. Lunch was solid but ice cream is the star of the show here.

Finally brought my husband to this hometown staple for the first time. He loved it! I'm just sorry we got there too late for a lunch/dinner 🤤 but I did treat myself to a blueberry cobbler milkshake and I am so glad that i did!

We love the hoagies and ice cream. Don't forget yr icecream rewards card if you frequent. There is one thing that should be noted. I get chicken salad here when I am too busy to make mine- not often. Be aware that this is different. It has pickle relish in it. Disappointed in this change..Not my taste. Didn't have the normal chicken flavor. I Wouldn't get again, but someone might like the taste of pickle relish.

Excellent icecream and a well stocked market to go with it. Including a large selection of spices.

Rude woman in food service area. All other clerks were polite and kind. Nice store

Refused to wait on us for several minutes two days in a row even after other customers spoke up that we were first. Too respond to the owner, we went Tuesday and stood in the ice cream line and we were told we were in the wrong line so we moved to the other line only to have a group of people arrive after us,go to the place we stood prior and get waited on immediately while we continued to wait. The next day we went back because we had promised the kiddo we would and we stood in the line we were asked to the day before and watched several people get served the ice cream before us in the " wrong line" again, then two people walked in behind us and the first gentleman to come in after us was waited on before us which okay fine maybe they didn't see we were there before him but then when they went to wait on the lady who arrived after he did she kindly told the workers that we were first to which the worker replied " they can wait" at this point we just left and went to DQ because it became clear this wasn't a mistake being made but a purposeful act of unkindness.

This place is great! Bakery, precooked foods, baking supplies, ice cream, deli / grille counter it's got everything and it's all good! Stopping in near Christmas time is my favorite. You can get real fruit cake that tastes good and cookies like your grandma used to bake. 20 minutes from Cashtown. Maybe 30 minutes from Gettysburg!

If your looking to get some good food and delicious ice cream definitely check this place out. The ice cream is all made there and the servings are massive. The place is very neat and clean, and The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you Windy Knoll for doing what it takes to create a great experience for your customers.

One of our favorite ice cream place! The ice creams are hearty and creamy. Great place for some nice sweet treats. The milk shakes are made out of the ice cream, this means you can request shakes in whatever ice cream flavor they have on display. There is an outside place where you can sit and enjoy your food.

So I'm supposed to tip before I get any food or have to go and get my own food? Man I am so done with this bad behavior. So why is asking for a tip before you get any food ok? And there is no waitress. Good luck trying to sucker me again!!

Windy Knolls has a lot going for it. There is the market side where you can get fresh veggies, frozen home cooked meals, baking supplies, a deli as well as baked goods. Then there is the ice cream area. They make their own ice cream and though it is a bit rich for me, most of my friends swear by it. Last, but certainly not least, is the section where you can order burgers, subs, wraps and deli sandwiches, fried chicken, as well as plenty of sides. There is a seating section inside as well as one outside. Yesterday, I noticed they'd set up a place to sell flowers and hanging arrangements. A nice place to visit for all.

Windy Knoll is one of my favorite places to visit. It is always a treat because of the great food that is prepared in advance or while you wait. They have a good selection of spices, candies, and baking items at reasonable prices.

They have a good selection of local food items like cold cuts, produce, refrigerated items and baking supplies. In addition, they have got foods that are made fresh and reasonably priced. On a warmer day visit, the ice cream counter was very busy.

Such a great market and cafe with so many delicious baked goods, premade meals and THE ICE CREAM! Friendly staff, clean!

The icecream is some of the best handmade around. The store itself is has items that other places has but at a cheaper price, especially at the deli! Love coming here for icecream and pretzels then shopping!

Fantastic food, both in the store section and from the kitchen. The fried chicken is amazing, and the ice cream is even better. So glad to have this store close to my new home.

I like Windy Knolls because it's very convenient for me to pick up a few items instead of having to go to the grocery store their Deli is very good and their ice cream is very good they also have fruits vegetables and homemade candy that is very good especially during the holidays

They have a lot of good stuff here.. fresh baked breads and local produce. It's worth the drive!

Absolutely delightful staff! This was our first visit to the store and definitely not our last! It’s one place you will want to include you’ll want to include on your shopping trip!! Stopped in for a few items including fried chicken for dinner!! WOW! If you haven’t tried Windy Knoll Farm Market’s fried chicken… it’s what should be on your menu for dinner tonight! Tell them PA Google Guide, Cindy recommended it. Oh my goodness, I almost forgot the hot cinnamon twist!! Yummy! A MUST! Be sure to eat that first! Desserts first! Who ever said dessert HAD to come after the main dish anyways? REALLY? What STONE was that carved into?

Picked up some holiday treats. The food items here are always fantastic.

My family loves the fried chicken,always fresh made and always delicious.

Stopped in for lunch. Purchased the Fried Chicken. Always a "Top Choice". Added Cole and Pepper Slaw from the deli. Ordered cookies for the Holidays. Stopped in and picked up. They had ready on time. Store is always clean and staff is friendly.

This is a great small local market, it makes a nice quick stop on the way home to pick up a small individual portion meal or a gallon of milk without having to run into a big box store. Always clean and bright; not too excited about credit card service fees but they are popping up everywhere anymore - but we will still stop by to pick up milk on the way home ☺️ the kids like to stop for ice cream in the summer!

Very nice market. Lots of homemade baked goods. Large selection of pies. Homemade icecream. Fresh fruit and vegetables. Has a section with made to order foods, subs, sandwiches, hot foods, fried chicken. Has several tables to eat in or can get to go. Friendly employees.

The broasted chicken is the best around these parts. A wide variety of foods to choose from.

I like to eat there on occasions, shopping is ok natural foods for most part, unfortunately they have a (convenient charge) if you use your credit card I think it's 3% other than that it's good place to shop and eat.

The ice cream is some of the best I've ever had.

Found this place accidentally, the ice cream is too die for. They had a large selection of baking needs and fresh baked goods. I'll be back.

A local treasure. Friendly staff. Spotless interior. Great deli. Amazing ice cream (sad day when they were out of Peanut Butter Explosion.. i hope THAT never happens again) and delicious prepared foods to take home for dinner or a full picnic with the grand kids at local Norlo Park. Not sure what's up with those bulk food aisles; rarely see anyone buying that stuff. Produce is limited but ridiculously perfect. In the spring their pricey outdoor flower pot are gorgeous, long lasting and worth the money.

Have great sandwiches and Ice cream. Need to have better personalities at the front register

Super busy in there on Thursday ..looks like a big local shopping place. From the time I went in til the time I came out almost every box of local strawberries was gone..ate lunch there..delicious fried chicken . Potato salad is different from any I have ever had..the potatoes are shredded like shredded carrots but it tastes great! Picked up some ham salad and pepper slaw at the deli ( long wait only one lady behind the counter). Windy Knoll is also now selling furniture from Hostetler Tables & Chairs (HTC) which is made from recycled plastics.

It's very well stocked & friendly people, just a bit overpriced for my budget
