Super delicious dinner for 6 of us. Tasty Pizza, salads & Gyro. Everybody is satisfied.

Beware! While on a trip we decided to order pizza on the last night. We were browsing and saw this place and the website said they prefer to receive orders through the slice app. We were reluctant but downloaded it anyway and placed our order. We ordered at 540 and the delivery time said 715 and that seemed a bit too late for the small children so I called at 630 almost an hour after I ordered and they said we can make it now it will be 20 minutes, which would have been about the same time as delivery(we were staying in a house 2 streets over from them) so I called them immediately back and told them I'll just wajt for the delivery the kid said okay that's no problem. 720 comes around, 2 crying children later I call and see what's going on and the kid said for some reason it's here on the oven. I decided to leave and pick it up. When I got there a woman said she had no idea what happened and why it was on the oven. Zero communication. No one had any idea what was going on. We ordered early because we have small children who eat early. Nothing was offered to us, no dessert no free appetizer nothing taken off our bill. The pizza was good not very hot ofcourse but it was tasty. Don't use the app, dont wait for delivery, go in person, order, and take it out. I've never been so happy to have chosen cash tip atleast I wasn't also out 15 more dollars I was going to leave as a tip! Just be careful.

My favorite loaded pizza in the area. Always a friendly staff.

Ordered 2 steak bombs. A older Italian man started grabbing the steak with bare hands after handling cash and putting it on the grill. Then a Woman came inside from smoking a cigarette. Didn’t wash her hand or use gloves and immediately started preparing our food. Then reached in her shirt for something and continued making the food I had already paid for. I left and threw $24 of lunch in the trash because of how unsanitary it was

Never order food here I can’t stress this enough. This restaurant is absolutely incompetent. They get my order wrong 9/10 times I eat here. I order the same steak sub every time I go here and they have gotten it wrong in every imaginable way. Sometimes I am amazed at what they manage to get wrong with the sandwich. This time they gave me sausage instead of steak and I had to laugh hysterically at the epic failure. I’ve given this place way too many chances and I’m sick and tired of this. No restaurant has failed so completely and consistently at the most basic part of being a restaurant, making the food as ordered.

The pizza was the worst pizza I've ever had! Not the memory I have of this place, they changed their crust. There was no sauce. The kids said it was worse than school pizza.

This has got to be the grossest pizza I have ever tried to eat in my life. Highly DON'T recommend the BBQ chicken pizza from here. They have no idea how to make this pizza!! It's supposed to a white pizza with the BBQ sauce drizzled on top not used like you would use tomato sauce. Omg so gross!!! What a waste of $27 bucks. We had to throw the rest away, because it's so unedible.

Pizza lover here. My taste buds are professional in the pizza world. This is the best pizza you will find within a many-many mile radius of Winthrop. Quality. Place has been here since the town was established in 1765. Fresh Mozzarella Fresh Dough Fresh Sauce I even think the cardboard pizza box is fresh. Could be wrong on that but I wouldn’t be surprised. This place is a winner.

Got there, food was ready, but they forgot our fries, which is no big deal things happen...we then waited over 30 minutes for a large fry. They gave us the equivalent of a child's size mcdonalds fry, which they charged me over $7 for. We then drove back 10 minutes to the house to realize we had a room temperature pizza that was dry and hard. The calzone was decent at best. But THE WORST PART OF THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS... watching them drop a pizza on the dirty floor, picking it up, saying "only a little cheese came of haha" and proceeding to box it up. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PIZZA PLACE AT ALL. You would be better off eating a frozen pizza, and you would actually know whether it hit the floor or not.

It looks like shady place where you might pick up some magic mushrooms on your pizza - but it is actually a wonderful family business and I think they make the best pizza from anywhere around. The people behind the counter are very nice, and be sure to check out "Chad's" tattoos they are amazing works of art.

I dont typically write negative reviews, but this story is too funny not to share. Not mad about it, just wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Bought a chicken parm sub. Girl at the counter was younger and made a few mistakes (forgetting to ring in a soda I got), but these thing happen and are forgivable. She told me it would be 10 minutes, so I sat in my car and came back in about 10 mins. When I go inside she has no recollection of me ordering the sub. Seemed genuinely confused. Also happens, and is forgivable. I smelled what I thought was smoke. And I asked her if maybe she should check the oven. And there is my sub. Black and smoking. She appologized and said it would be another 10 minutes. This is ALSO FORGIVEABLE. I've worked in restaurants plenty. Mistakes happen. What is NOT FORGIVABLE is what happened next. A gentleman came out of the back, whom I'm assuming was either the owner or manager, and proceeded to pull the ingredients out of the burnt sub, throw it on a fresh sub, and put it back in the oven. With no gloves... Chicken was dry as paper towels. I wouldn't recommend this place.

They have excellent Italian hoagies much like the ones you get in Philadelphia.

I didn't get my fries with my order. I ordered a sausage peppers and cheese sub and instead got hot garbage. It was sliced sausage, a lump of pepperoni slices for some reason. No peppers. It looked like the reject slices of pepperoni and sausage from pizza making. It was literally inedible. I threw it away. Lookit people forget things. I was fine without the fries, it happens. But not only was it a garbage level sandwich, it wasn't even remotely what I ordered. One star because the bread was toasted nicely and not wet.

The first time i had my husband bring home a pizza from there, I had to call and compliment them...perfect pizza all the way around. Everything we've had there has been delicious. We just Love this place. The people are so kind. We've never been disappointed with the food. Always a Positive expierence..

"It was a dark and stormy night, power was out all over town and we were looking to get a quality pizza." I couldn't resist, it really was a stormy night and the power was out at our typical Friday night pizza place. We had to try Winthrop house of pizza not just because they had power, but because they were recommended to us. Overall the pizza was good, but it was different enough from what we normally get. The wings were outstanding. And last but not least, and what will make me return and recommend them, was the service. The woman behind the counter was so friendly and accommodating with our order I can't say enough good things. Our order was a bit unique and she was able to do everything we asked for and still keep a smile on her face. Even though there was a nasty storm, she still kept a welcoming and positive attitude. We will absolutely go back and I highly recommend this place.

Great pizza used carryout option

Wouldn't recommend, I phoned in my order and repeated it. They confirmed it & said it would be 20 min; when I went in to pick up my order, they all seemed confused and didn't have my order. Asked if I had called their location and I stated yes, it was their store. Still no food. Not sure I would return. Quite disappointed.

I've Been At This Restaurant Dozens Of Times, Great Place ,They Can Make Things The Way You Want It.. Very Friendly Staff... At Times There Super Busy , But There Are Still Considerably Fast...I Recommend Trying The Debbie's Special Pizza... 👍 ( I Ask For Thinner Crust And Onions Instead Of Spinach) But To Each There Own =)

We were just passing through town in the second hour of a four hour drive. Family of four, hungry, and no time to stop and dine anywhere for long. This store in rural Maine doesn’t look like much, but wow do they know how to make pizza. We ordered two small pizzas (the Greek and the Hawaiian) to go and they were delicious! I now wish this place existed closer to my house because this would be my favorite shop. The made from scratch crust, the cheese and the toppings were all a perfect mix.

Ordered from House of Pizza on a whim, intrigued by the fact they make the dough and sauce in-house. There's just something really appealing about knowing the food you'll be consuming is made from scratch. And boy, we were not disappointed! The food (a calzone and stuffed shells) was incredible! We also ordered a garden salad and the lettuce was actually GREEN. Not the ends of iceburg lettuce like in most places. So grateful for that! Will likely patronize this place again while here on vacation.

Our meals were delicious. The service was excellent and courteous, both when I called in my order and picked it up. It impressed me because that seems so rare these days. Both the order taker and cashier extended sincere thank yous.

A tiny pizza shop in (very) rural Maine that does a great job with their pizza. Perfect crust was crispy and chewy at the same time, with a great thickness that made a great balance to the toppings. Sauce was very good as well. Family run and a nice family to boot. Highly recommend.

Love the food. One of the best house of pizza that myself and my family have ever had the privilege of tasting. Service is quick and prices are decent and fair. The variety of the menus items makes choosing what you want difficult because it al sounds so good.

Love this place, all of the food is excellent even the non pizza items. Its also decently priced. I even asked for cheese on my fries in my chicken pita wrap meal and they put it in a separate container with the cheese all heated up and everything no extra cost.

No conveyor belt mass production here! Had a military reunion pot luck, decided to bring a pizza so stopped in here on a Sunday morning. Ordered a 'large loaded' and smiled as I watched hands full of toppings liberally added to their (own) sauce. Oven baked and a few extra minutes...with attention and moving about the oven for even cooking. Enjoyed a slice for lunch, and couple others that tried it vocalized positive comments and inquired source. I shamelessly grabbed the box and took the remainder home. Wife pan heated (Not nuked!) a slice and asked 'WHERE did you find such good NY pizza?? The dated ambience is more than made up for by the fresh ingredients, care in preparation and taste.

My wife and I stumbled upon Winthrop House of Pizza late one night coming into town from Long Island. At 10:30 at night it was the only thing opened. Starving after 7 hours on the road we had no choice but to give it a try. I ordered the Debbie Special Calzone and my wife ordered an Eggplant Parm hero on toasted garlic bread. Everything was made fresh in front of me, so I didnt mind waiting the 20 minutes. We took the order home to our new house, settled in and started to eat. We were blown away with the taste, quality, freshness, everything. Two weeks later we went back with another couple. We ordered Greek Salad, Baked Ziti, Pepperoni Pizza, Debbie's Special Calzone, Garlic Bread, Meatball Parm Hero, everything hit the mark. That was back in April. Since then we have been to WH of P at least 10 more times. I would put Winthrop House of Pizza up against most of the Pizza shops in NY any day. A big plus is they are open until 11:00pm. Winthrop House of Pizza has become our go to eatery for great fast to go Italian take out.

Great food always made fresh and good service

The pepperoni pizza was one of the best i've had, with crisp crust on the thick side, tangy sauce, melty cheese, and a generous amount of pepperoni. Our Gyro and Greek salads were more average; the salads had a lot of feta but not a lot of vegetables. The kitchen may have been clean, but much of the place was filthy. We survived, though.
