Great south indian place. Had utthapam, idli, mysore masala dosa, poori aloo, and tomato rice. All were authentic and tasted excellent, except the pooris which could have been better! The atmosphere and service could have been better too. Go for the food.

It's my first and last visit to this place. Ordered the Grill Thali. The Masala Dosa was good. Sambar - average, Coconut chatni didn't have any flavor at all, Tomato chatni below average. Idli - ok/average Vada was horrible. For sure it was not made today, kind of frozen and microwaved! The worst of all was the tea. It was the worst tea I ever had in my life! The gulab jamun (sweet) was good. Not worth the price paid. Giving two stars as the Dosa, service and atmosphere was okay.

The vibe at this place is non-existent, and it doesn't even feel like a restaurant. You order the food at their counter when you walk in, then sit in a weirdly haphazard dining area where some of the tables and chairs are plastic (like for outdoor events, camping, etc.). Then they serve your food on paper plates and paper bowls, also with plastic utensils. You call that a restaurant?? The food was 2/5, it wasn't worth the visit.

Not worth trying simply because of their service. The bald Uncle is extremely rude. Edit after the owner's reply : How did you know that we are the same family that reached at 2:28pm . That means you know you were rude to us . Now a rundown to what led to this - Before coming to the restaurant we called them at 2:25pm to know if we can still dine if we reach in 2 minutes . They put a condition that we need to order only once to which we agreed and reached at 2:28pm . First of all , you are not doing a charity and could have simply said No when we called . Now , when we were placing the order , husband asked if we can have chhole bhature , the bald Uncle threw attitude , made a pissed off face and said "bhature shature nahi Hain" . Imagine talking about your own menu, the food you serve to your customer in this manner . At that point I wanted to move out but husband realised that I was hungry and we settled for Dosa which was fine for the price . Anyone who wants to eat here might like the food on a good day , but just pray that the bald Uncle who probably is the same person replying to every critical review in a rude manner is not in a bad mood . Because he can really put a huge dent to your experience of dining in here . All the best and learn to be a little humble . You earn respect , don't expect me to respect you when you don't respect my family and their time .

NEVER EAT AT THIS PLACE. It was clear all the food was pre-made and simply reheated and served on paper bowls. The food was not fresh at all. The poori was extremely oily and the curries were bland and stale. The mango Lassi had been sitting on the counter for what seemed like multiple hours before it was handed to us. The rice that was served with the dal was cold, they did not even take the effort to reheat rice properly. The lady at the counter was also rude after we asked her about taking the wrong order and tried placing the blame on us. All this coupled with the exorbitant prices makes this restaurant a no-go unless you're looking to waste money. I would give this place 0 stars if I could.

Waste and worst. Definitely not worth the price , in addition to that staff is busy watching movies in phone instead of taking care of customer. The easy thing any Indian can do is prepare dosa. With $6 dosa batter, I could have prepared 5-7 dosas in my house. With the travel time I spend to drive your restaurant I could have easily prepared chutneys. The problem is not 9.99$ , people come to your place for restaurant experience not for one chutney and one sambar. On top of that no cleanness. If you are so interested in watching cricket match please take leave and watch, No will complain. I am not your house guest to come and ask you to serve me. I am a customer, I am paying for service for which you should be providing.

Craving some veggie comfort food? Woodlands Vegetarian South Indian Kitchen hits the spot. Their idlis are a dream - light and fluffy, soaking up the rich, complex sambar like champs. It's a true sambar masterclass - perfectly spiced, not too spicy, and just the right amount of tang. The masala dosa joins the party as a crispy, crepe-y champion. The potato filling is a savory symphony of spices and chunks, and the whole thing comes together in a satisfying, textural dance. This dosa is a textbook example of why it's a South Indian classic. Now, the onion rava masala dosa was a bit of a misstep. It leaned towards soft and chewy, rather than the classic shatteringly crisp we all know and love. Still, the filling was a delicious mix of onions and semolina, and the masala was spot-on. Just a small adjustment in crispness could make this a contender for rava dosa glory. Overall, Woodlands is a fantastic find for veggie South Indian food. The idli-sambar combo is a shining star, and the masala dosa is a crowd-pleaser. Just be aware that the onion rava masala might not be your textbook crispy experience.

Dosa is delicious but we got carrot halva to go and they gave it us in the smallest container ever. $3.50 for that??? Sir, that’s daylight robbery in my opinion. 2 bites and it was finished. Was disappointed and called them out but got “that’s the container we had” response. We had expected better. Edit: lol instead of providing a rude response like you have, it would be better if make that $3.5 dessert look like it’s worth it by putting it in a bigger container. The current one you have is too tiny for the price you charge.

I used to be a regular at this place. After last night, I will never return. I ordered a dosa, my usual. Way to greasy. After paying and getting back into my car, I watched the male cashier walk over to the drink station in the restaurant. He took a pitcher of water meant to be used for customers for water cups, lifted it in the air and poured it directly into his mouth. It was such an unsanitary act to watch, I immediately lost my appetite. He proceeded to put the pitcher he just used back on the table for future customers to use. I will not be going back to this place. Unsanitary and poor customer service.

Tons of choices for Vegetarian, Vegan, Special restrictive Diet (No Onion-Garlic; Gluten Free). Best part - Owner is 'The Chef'. Food quality is uncompromised and assured to tickle the taste buds to authentic South Indian flare. Lots of Indian Street Food options: Chaat, Samosa, Lassi, Indo-Chinese. Always looking forward to return to this family owned restaurant...

I really like the simple yet tasty food here. I have so far tried dosas, vada, gajar halwa, bisibelebath and upma here among a few more, their sambhar is fantastically yummy. Oh and the potato bonda and samosas are great too! Almost feels like I am in Bangaluru somewhere and having some authentic food! Definitely recommend this place to people who miss Karnataka style south Indian food! Hidden gem of Arizona.

This is our go to place for South Indian food mostly dosas. The owner Prashant t t himself is the cook and does all the cooking. We actually love the sambar and the cold chutney that people keep constantly complaining about in the review 😛 Prices are very reasonable and the dosas are worthy enough.

Good food. Little inconsistent sometimes but otherwise it's great.

Food is very nice, all vegetarian choices. I hope the owner gets rid of styrofoam plates, cups and single use plastics from their menu. Especially when we are paying almost same price for the food item as other restaurants.

It's a no-frills type of place. Just authentic food and nice people. The food always tastes great and comes out fast. Reasonably priced. I recommend the spinach dosa!

We visit one or the other family owned restaurants during our valley visits. This is our best bet for our dosa, chai, ven pongal fix and almost all South Indian dishes. Extremely hard working and genuine couple, serving great home style food. Their prices are comparably high according to some people but to me it feels justified because ingredients are good quality and oil quality is good. I prefer driving back home without a tummy upset. I don’t care about cheap Indian food available all over the valley

Went here for dinner. Food was nice, and testy. They were too busy, but they did let us know up-front. Food did come in reasonable time.

My family and I have been coming here for 4+ years now and the food never disappoints. The owners are really nice people as well. My 1 year old son is obsessed with their mango lassi drink!
