If you want authentic Udupi food then this place is where you should go! My husband is from Mangalore and he became emotional after eating this delicious food. We tried the royal mysore thaali, sadai masala dosa, iddli & vada, and puri bajji. Everything tasted fabulous and all items were extra delicious from being cooked in ghee. The best indian food we’ve had in Orlando.

We first ate here back in 2005 while visiting the attractions. After we moved here in the later 2000s we regularly ate here. Up to the pandemic it used to be a congested but welcoming place with really good food. The lady who owned it used to make it a homely place by conversing with the diners .The service was slow but friendly. Now, it's become a weird place with horrible service and so-so food. Nothing to laud. The Latina girl banged our water glasses on the table ... It's enough to put off any diner. There are posted signs which say diners can't be moved once seated around the restaurant which give the dining area a tacky feel. I guess the phrase "customer is king" loses meaning when you waste money redecorating a place. If they're going to invest so much in renovations, surely they can also put effort to hire waitstaff who actually care about their job. At least the good food made up for the minus points earlier. There's not even that anymore. Sad decline.

I used to enjoy woodlands for the vegetarian offerings. Not any more. I believe they changed Management. Over priced. Quality has fallen down the cliff. The only saving grace was "mysore masala dosa" and "avial" curry" in lunch. Note to owner: Serving "Chana" in "royal thali" is not a good choice (They served 2 curries, Chana being one of them. Other was "Avial"). They also removed appetizer from "Royal Thali". When I asked, their reply was "Management changed". Pics: mysore masla dosa, paneer and Thali

I ordered through Uber eats but even after that everything tasted so good. Looking forward to try something more in future. 2015 I tried Chhola Bhatura and it's worth 4 star. Cheez dosa was not so great. It's a fix whenever I am staying near Orlando airport.

Waste of money and food taste and quality was terribly bad. Baby corn manchurian, channa masala, paneer masala, bhindi masala - it all looked like some artificial food coloring was added. Did not seem to have the natural curry/sabzi color. Another disaster was all these curries/sabzis tasted sweet.

Authentic dishes from the south (and north) of India, correct use of spices, none of that American-Indian stuff. This is by far the most authentic Indian restaurant I've been to in the US. For those Indians disappointed by the poor quality of Indian food available in the US, this right here is where you wanna eat. For the non-indians who are more accustomed to things like "Vindaloo", "Chicken Tikka Masala", "Butter Chicken" and "Naan Bread", I would highly recommend you to try this place if you have any interest in knowing what Indian food ACTUALLY tastes like. Note: This is a vegetarian restaurant, they don't serve meat here, no eggs either. They serve dairy tho.

Woodlands is a pretty mediocre Indian restaurant in Orlando. It almost feels as if it was one of the original spots for Indian food here, and unfortunately, as more Indian restaurants have moved to the OBT area, it’s quite a bit outdated compared to others. We have been to a majority of Indian restaurants in Orlando, and pretty much all of the ones right nearby Woodlands, and I can’t see a scenario where I would recommend this restaurant over others like Gully, Bombay and Khasiyat, unless those places are closed. There wasn’t anything inherently wrong with this place, and a few things we ordered were quite good, but we weren’t “amazed” by anything. The malai kofta was our favorite dish we ordered, the gobi manchurian with gravy is something you should pass on, and the mixed appetizer platter was pretty good, but some things on the platter weren’t our favorite. The batura bread was quite good, so I can assume other breads like naan would be good here as well. The service was kind of weird here - you have to waive down waiters and waitresses to get them to come to your table for bill, but at the same time they’re just staring at you from across the restaurant and it’s sorta awkward. Also, the exterior of the building is quite dilapidated, and it doesn’t have an inviting atmosphere. They should definitely do some updating to make it more appealing. Overall, we would probably try this place again, but only if we were in the area, and places like Gully, Bombay, and Khasiyat weren’t open.

Love their chola bhatura. I have often compared their chole to that of other restaurants and I can tell with complete certainty that it’s the best among all restaurants in Orlando. Friends, I have been to this restaurant about 40 times and have often eaten Chole Bhature. These are some of the dishes I have eaten here: Chole Bhature: 20 times Veg Thali (always standard one): 10 times Gobi Manchurian: 10 times Veg Pakora: 5 times Dahi Wada: 5 times Mango Lassi: 20 times Various curries: 10 times Naans, Parathas etc Vegetarian Buffet: 5 times. This service has since been stopped. I give all these dishes 5 stars each. They were very well prepared and I have absolutely no complaints. The waiters do a great job here. But the real reason I give this restaurant 5 stars is because my stomach has never become upset after eating here. I always feel great after eating their food. I hope you know that many Indian restaurants try to skimp on their food by using and re-using their cooking oil until it becomes poisonous to the human body. When anything is cooked in that oil, it becomes unfit for human consumption. It is of great credit to Woodlands that I have never become sick after eating in this restaurant. Great work Woodlands staff. Keep up the good work. My favorite person in this restaurant is Mr Shreyas. I interact with the owner too. He is prompt, courteous and efficient.

The bald guy at the front whom I am assuming is the owner or manager wasn't going to seat us because the rest of our party (+2) had not arrived yet. He reluctantly sat us down after we told him we want to order right away. Our food did not arrive until the two arrived. The next issue was with the server with the man-bun who refused to make eye contact when he brought food to the table and kept yelling the name of our dish until we pointed to where it should be placed. This is definitely not the American way of customer service. Will not return.

A few other things we ordered came out at random order - entrée before appetizer, drinks after entrée - something that seems rather common among many Indian eateries in Orlando area. Falooda was too watery and bland. The owner or the manager person stood around disinterestingly watching over what seemed like utter chaos. IMO, fish markets have better atmosphere. Avoid if you can! Don't be fooled by the silent calm looking almost closed down vibe of the location. It is for sure buzzing on the inside. One of the best places in town. It is a must visit if you are looking for a filling portions of food 🥧. For the city, I wouldn't say the prices are unaffordable but they are on the higher side and it shows in the quality. Their Manchurian, irrespective of the kind, I have tried them all and they are very good and I would highly recommend you start your food with it. You will not regret it. Crispy outers, perfectly spice balanced sauces coating it, is just a dance on your tongue. I am almost certain you can't stop with one. Their dosas and thalis are equally tasty and affordable. Thalis are not unlimited refills and you need to buy each item one at a time. Speaking to the restaurant owner, although It is not current or latest news, but it is worth mentioning that Abdul Kalam, once president of India, preferred food from this restaurant, has been to it twice. Apparently liked the food so much, that he got the food packed and shipped to Alabama. Food does definitely reflect the same. They were delicious however their sambar is watery and needs some standard. Chutney was super cold and did not taste great. Plates were congested and they did not attend to us well even though we were the only family in the place.. Since it was closing , they had turned off the lights in wash rooms and waiting to shut the lights as we exited. Please have some courtesy and kindness when you respond to your customers... it makes a difference in their dining experience 😊

Gobi Manchurian very oily, just sauce on fried Gobi. Tomato rice - very bland and no flavor; just a colored rice

I'm not sure why the chole batura is touted as signature dish. Chole is chole in paneer butter masala. It was sweetish. 1/10 just for the size of the puri and the onion it came with. The guy in charge there said the kitchen is closed but kept taking orders of his friends in a nearby table.5 mins later I ordered the same dish, dosa, with a different person. 6/10. I'm not from Orlando, so am not sure if competition here makes any idly dosa. Visited based on reviews. Mediocre food with a ridiculous service. I don't trust the 5/4 star reviews here.

I was here yesterday and I ordered Idly togo. I felt very bad that I found rubber band in the chutney. This was the second time I got something in the food. Firstime I got aluminum foil in sambar. I’ll never recommend here. And owner said something bad to me in other language after I told him that I found something in food.Posting the picture .

The Worst restaurant i have ever been to- i rate Zero i ordered Garlic naan they server me a ready made frozen naan from desi store -made it extra burn so we may not know - i would as this question to the owner - if want to ear frozen naan then we can buy from desi store and eat at home why would we need to come to your restaurant ? and the attitude one of the desi Waiter 6 foot tall with tattoos on forearm with a tied hair knot on head. he takes order like as if he is interrogating a criminal with a dominating voice and serious face expressions - Guys if you cannot have some hospitality then close the restaurant. people need some humble treatment not an aggressive attitude.

Stopped for takeout on the way back to Philly from AC, conveniently located and easy to find. Great food with large portions and good service. I did not dine in, but the dining room looked very nice a
