The carnival were amazing. Also had a large variety of salsas. Highly recommend.

Wow. The strawberry lemonade was delish. Huge portions, I think we all had leftovers when we were done. Everything from the nachos to the fajita burritos were delicious!

Food was Great, I love the Authenticity of the place and the environment, but not having someone to understand my questions was kind of annoying, but great place.

Great food, clean vibrant interior with beautiful art, staff is very professional.

Try the torta without being smothered in the sauce. They let me get sauce on side. Ive had it both ways and my stomach was upset with my choices.

Please don’t waste your money on the tres leches cake or choco flan. Not even close to being authentic.. not moist or pillowy. Just outrageously sweet and dense. Food is fire though!

This restaurant never misses! From the super quesadilla to the Birria tacos, this is the place to go to. Well worth the price for what you get and the quality.

I’m a regular, today I ordered the Mexican Caesar salad, they brought it to me with old brown avocados. I sent it back and it came back a bit watery. It tasted strange I did not enjoy it at all. Once I have a bad experience I’m done when it come to food. Not happy at all.

I love the barefoot carne asada taco salad. Super yummy always my go-to when I come here. The staff is always great and the service is fast.

We ordered chips & barria tacos and oh my- it reminded me of the tacos I've eaten in Texas and those were amazing! The flavor was there, as I'm sure most of yall know there's Alaska "standards" and this was above that!😊 I will come here to try more items again!

The rice and beans were delicious, the birria tacos were not good, it had a very bold taste, not much flavor and the horchata had a strong flavor of vanilla I think, was kinda hard to drink. The lady was nice though.

Rice and beans were delicious but the birria tacos tasted weird to me, my husband liked his strawberry horchata and I got a regular one but it had too much vanilla or cinnamon, it was strong and hard to drink. The lady who gave us service was very nice.

This place is fantastic. Great burritos but I love their Quesabirria tacos. Consume is delicious and they're fast also. Very friendly staff. Make sure when you order that you are ordering from the right location! I learned the hard way lol

Finally found good Mexican food in Anchorage!!! The birria tacos are no joke. They weren’t super busy so it took them about 6 minutes to hand me the tacos and boy they were good! So tasty and juicy. They are 3 tacos but I ate one before taking the photo. Amazing, highly recommend and will be coming back!!

I’ve only ordered a couple times. I love that they have vegetarian options and the Jamaica is delicious. But the flavors are kinda bland, especially on the dips 😓

The ground beef has carrots in it and it's not on the menu. Unfortunately we be allergic and it was not seen as a big deal. 😕

Outstanding food, no salsa bar. Have to ask for it. Hard to understand broken English. Worth it for the tacos. Stay away from the caso. Gritty and runny.

My burrito came out cold as ice. I was in a time crunch, so I didn't have time to wait. I ate what I could and left. For what is worth, the burrito tasted OK, might have been better if it was hot. Staff was OK, and the atmosphere was not inviting for a second try. I went during lunchtime at 1 p.m., and the restaurant was not busy. However, the burrito took at least 10 minutes to come out and cold at that.

I didn't even know it was possible to mess up a burrito this much. The outside foil was covered in sour cream and some grease. But the burrito itself is what made me want to never go back again. Literally they folded the tortilla twice, so a third of my burrito was just tortilla, and they just folded it in half. They didn't even try to close it, so the moment I attempt to hold it, the very few ingredients it has inside just spills out. This is a taco at this point, with no actual ingredients. The burrito was also super messy, and it was just covered in other random ingredients, so the ingredients it should have had inside was all on the outside, but the stuff outside seems to be from another item, cause there was random ingredients I didn't even order in my burrito. Whoever made it just said I don't care I got paid so whatever. Don't order from here if you want a messy experience with no care in making their food.

Slooooow. Went for dine in at 2pm. Took 20 mins for 2 orders of Birria Tacos. Wasn't busy, maybe 2 other customers in the store. The other customers waited just as long for their orders. Food was good, but maybe go to the other stores if you want it quicker

The vegetarian cinco de mayo burrito was loaded with delicious goodies! Multiple salsas, delicious beans, finely diced and spiced onion, zucchini, carrot, tomato, and more. Really good. Finished it off with a house made strawberry lemonade. So refreshing! Great atmosphere inside. I’ll be back.

Dropping my son off to school. I’m from California, near Santa Ana. This Machaca Burrito IS THE BOMB. Fed me for breakfast and Dinner in my hotel. Damn great job! Spencer will be back again and again.

My husband and I ordered guacamole dip and two bowls of Pozole. The guacamole did NOT seen Fresh at all to us, nor did the chips it came with. The pozole was excellent! The restaurant could use a good painting, and scrubbing for sure!

For some reason, this branch of Xalos is so mediocre compared to the others. Both the food and service are bland and underwhelming. This location has forgotten the consome for my birria tacos twice now and does not include salsa or even ask if you want some like the others always do. Xalos is great, just go to a different location IMO.

The food is incredible. Which is what matters the most. The place itself is a little dark, and the food can take a little while to get out to you. But it's worth it. If you haven't had Birria Tacos before, you need to get some, and Xalos is a great place for em. It would be hard to do better without visiting to your tio.

Nothing fancy - just walk in Mexican food. The Super Quesadilla with Birria is outstanding!

Not a bad place atmosphere and service I give 3 because of cleanliness, not very quick to cleanup tables. checking supplies like forks,spoons were all empty. Food was not bad but served on a pizza plate with chips and a burrito wrapped in tinfoil come on. Do better.

Deserves an overall 5 star rating. Great food and fast service. Had the chicken fajita tacos and strawberry horchata. Love it all.

I’ve had Xalos a few times, and this location wasn’t my favorite. The service was a little less friendly and helpful, and they took a long time to get us our food. Probably 20-30 minutes for two plates. BUT, I have to say the food is the best Mexican you’ll find in Anchorage at least. Xalos does it right. The birria tacos are seriously good, especially with the dipping sauce. I got a fajita burrito which was tasty, but had some cold ingredients. It was still delicious though. And the strawberry horchata is a MUST. So good. Overall a great place. Could improve a few things, but they make some great food my friends.

Food was acceptable but not as good as in the past. Rice & beans on the side was like a child's serving, not in proportion to the main course. Not really friendly taking your order, it was like: "Just give me your money and step" Didn't seem to care if we were there or not. I'm neutral on recommending this place until they bring it up a notch or two.........

Burrito was huge, and very filling. I also tried the jalapeño dip. Both were very tasty, will definitely be back.

A great place for Mexican food!

Food is authentic. The seasoning has been toned down a bit, but the food is still very good. They have "caldo de res," Mexican style beef and vegetable soup. Their street tacos (taco placero) are legit.

Food was typical. Nothing special but was up to expectations. Service was bare bones minimum not very many words or questions and when I got my order the guy set it on the counter and just walked away. I wasn't sure if that was all of it or not so left me guessing till I got in my car to untie the bag and look. It was all there except their was no silverware salsa or sourcream. Didn't know they have a separate bat for those things but I didn't have a chance to ask either. atmosphere was red carpet entertainment. Seen Micheal Jackson Jay Leno a giant margaritas with huge... cherries.. and then I woke up and realized I was the only one there. But xudos to the artist who did the paintings on the walls. Awesome artwork.

I was expecting a full restaurant but this was more like sit down fast food similar to Chipotle. You line up to order then sit and they bring you ur dish. The food is way more authentic than Chipotle and the soft tacos were nicely sized and very well done. The birria meat is certainly the star of the show here. Everything was clean, staff were friendly. Def worth coming back. No alcoholic drinks. But horchata!

Got a carnitas plate. Very tasty. Taking off a star because there was some residual pieces of shredded cheese in the pico / salad on the side. I'm lactose intolerant so that was an unwelcome surprise. I definitely recommend this place but probably specify specifically your food issues before ordering even if you think you're ordering something without it.

It's a great place to grab some lunch. I recommend the taco salad bowl or the shrimp taco. They have a good selection of food.

Food was good but prices will keep me from coming back . Service could have been friendly, they kinda just put my food down a walked away no words spoken (I cleaned up the beans they spilled) . I didn't know I had to get my own silverware , they just gave me my food and walked away, I had to get up to figure out we're the silverware was . Food was good though. I'm not going to call out anyone individually I'm sure they know .

Thought it was a bit spendy for just a burrito... but it was worth every penny. So much flavor in the burrito and quesadilla plate. Its not overpowering just creative flavors mixing together, well balanced. Nice eco packaging. Overall: wonderful food, Ill be back! 10/10 recommend

My friend and I got severely ill eating here. Several years ago, the food and price was decent. I was hoping to repeat a good experience. However, the current food was disgusting, the staff was rude, and the price outrageous. I ordered a flan dessert and it was $8.50 and was absolutely horrible. My tongue was tingling after the food and my friend had terrible bouts of diarrhea. I NEVER leave comments but I had to leave a warning about this place. Extremely disgusted and dissapointed!

Being full blooded Mexican I'm sad by the way I was treated by the girl on the night shift she was short with me and rude been here 13yrs first time eating here I will never eat here again. And my friends burrito had a chunk of meat in it .I should of went to Pancho villa

We happened upon this restaurant and were more than pleasantly surprised, the food was very good and the portions were big! I will definitely be back and will be bringing family too!

I love Mexican food and have eaten at my fair share of restaurants. This place isn’t very good. The carnitas tasted burnt and didn’t have much flavor.

After a long day of shopping for food for a big group we needed to feed, we were starved and stopped in here on the drive back to Palmer. Service was fast and very friendly. Then once we started eating - it was delicious! Anytime we’re back in the area, this will be on our must visit list.

The flavors and sauces overall are delicious, emphasis on spices not salt. The torta was okay overall but sloppy, prob would opt to tacos next time

Food came really fast. It was good.

No impressed. meat was dry and bland. Beans tasted out of a can and quesodillas were nothing spectacular. Also the chairs were ripped at the seams and the plate our food was served on was chipped. Won't be returning.
