Called for reservations and was told there were none and there would be a 2 hour wait if I came without 1 but I stay around the corner so we came anyway and it was empty I can only imagine why I would be discouraged from coming but if you want all white customers move to ladue

We had the most wonderful meal here last Thursday. Such a warm welcome! A really funky bar and some private dining spots as well as a more open restaurant area. We visited with my two small children who were well accommodated and even put together a small take away box meal for my daughter who slept through dinner! The cocktails were really good, the food was really very good, a great selection and amazing flavours. All cooked fresh. Highly recommend! We were visiting from England ❤️

My family had the best dinner last night. My late father was a regular and made friends with the owner. The food is PHENOMENAL! First time having Brazilian food. My daughter spent a couple weeks in Brazil a couple years ago so we made sure to order some things she recommended as well as what Lemya recommended as well. We will definitely go back again.

Loved this place! The atmosphere is beautiful. Our waitress was wonderful. The owner stopped by our table to check in. Food was delicious and flavorful! Can’t wait to return to try something else off the menu!

We went on a Saturday night and asked to watched the Brazil & Uruguay game as we didn’t want to go to a loud bar. Let me tell you, we had a great time, restaurant is very clean, ambience was amazing, the owner came to greet & spoke about the background of the name of the restaurant. I can’t even speak about the food and drinks because if there were more stars, I would rate higher. Overall, it was amazing and warming as you enter. I highly recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely be back with family and friends.

The food here is always delicious. The servers are always very attentive. The owner comes around and checks on tables.

The atmosphere of this restaurant was so unique and cozy, and the food was delicious. I wish I could remember for sure but I believe our server's name was Carla and she was so nice and friendly! Her attitude really brightened up our experience.

I’d give this spot 100 stars if I could. Yemanja Brasil always offers a special experience with its warm and eclectic ambiance. The abundance of pescatarian options is a real treat, showcasing the rich flavors of Brazilian cuisine. Lemya, the owner, adds a personal touch, making each visit fantastic. The homage to Yemọja “Yemanja”, the Water Goddess, adds a unique cultural touch to the dining experience. The seafood risotto and shrimp empanadas are definite highlights, making it a spot worth frequenting.

I was so glad to see that they still do a solid dinner service since I hadn't been in quite a while. Small and intimate but they do well with giving each table space and great attention. Lots of regulars, the owners greeting and embracing many customers gave me the warm fuzzies. Of course the warm fuzziness could have come from the Caipirinhas...I traded my usual glass of wine for 3 of this Brazilian staple and shhheeesh! They are DELICIOUS! I'm ashamed to say half my bill was because of that amazing drink! NO REGRETS. Ordered the Empanadas de Camarao as an app. The pastry alone could hold its own. The filling inside was runny but sweet yet savory and spiced nicely with medium sized shrimp and I was dying for a glass of white with these but stuck with my caipirinha! Again, the pastry itself could sell out in a bakery. 🤌 Our table decided on 3 different entrees. The Pescado Miranda, the Xin Xim de Galinha and the Bife Acebolado. If you're a fan of seafood pasta, tutto mare, and whitefish in general, the Pescado Miranda should be right up your alley. The sauce definitely is strong on the coconut, being that it's a coconut cream sauce, not just a hint of coconut here and there. It's something you can very easily imagine having for dinner in Brazil. The ribeye (Bife Acebolado) was huge and perfectly cooked at medium rare. A bit of a flavorful chimichurri on top but not overkill. The potato side dish was delectable with golden wedges blended with cheese and baked to bubbling. The Xin Xim de Galinha is their signature chicken dish. The sauce was more red and peppery than I've had before and probably hotter than I expected- but I like heat! Not sure that the shrimp that topped the chicken were rock shrimp as menu implied since they gave the chicken dish an overall fishy flavor rather than the sweet succulent taste I was hoping for. It was a good dish, but not enough for me to want to take the leftover home, you know? Flan for dessert was very refined, not overly sweet. Really nice. It was an enjoyable dinner experience for sure. We'll be back for that patio vibe and those caipirinhas! Great service 👏

I've been here twice, just recently and before that like 8 years ago. The first time wasn't bad, but recently was not a great experience. The service was poor, took 1 full hour before we got our main course. The Empanada appetizer wasn't great. The worst part was how stingy they were on drinks, $10 glass of wine was only a 2 Oz poor, just pathetic. It was like a shot glass of wine. The food on other people's tables looked good, maybe I ordered the wrong dish. Won't consider going back anytime soon.

This hidden gem in Benton Park offers a wide range of options for every palate, catering to gluten-free, vegetarian, pescatarian, and even vegan preferences. It's the perfect spot for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with friends. For appetizers, we savored the mouthwatering empanadas, crispy Yucca fries, and the delightful Coxinha de porco defumado. The flavors were exquisite! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the main course, Bobo De Camarão. It was a perfect blend of flavors and left us craving for more. Dessert was a divine affair as well. We indulged in the delectable coconut flan 🍮 and a scrumptious chocolate dessert topped with whipped cream. The desserts were so good that I'm still thinking about them 😅! Don't miss out on this culinary paradise! Add @yemanjabrasil to your must-visit list as soon as possible. You won't be disappointed!

This is a lovely restaurant with great owners who made sure their guests were happy. Every dish our group of five had was perfect and it was SO nice to eat something different and authentic!

This place is a local gem. Authentic food from Brazil. The decor is original and family run business. The food had so much flavor. We had the chicken, rice plate that had raisins in it, I was worried but it was delicious.

If you're thinking about going here, do it. The food is authentic. The atmosphere is a vibe. The service is on point. I've been here three times, got something different each time, and left amazed each time. There are good selections of hearty meat selections, savory seafood selections, and filling vegetarian selections. The drinks are solid, even for non-alcoholic - there's Brazilian sodas. I love eating here. It is pricey, but it is absolutely worth it if you want to enjoy a high-quality meal in a cool restaurant.

They try to serve a nice food but it is totally different of the thema they offer. Nothing to do with food of Bahia, Brazil. For me the worse thing there is the fact that they dont give you an receipt for what you paid, only one handwrite paper that I also can do by myself. Nothing that you can present to your company as a refund for a business dinner.

Good experience, but probably won’t go back. Too many other restaurants to try. Seafood in the stew and risotto was very fresh. Great calamari in the dishes. Empanadas were ok. Service was okay. Atmosphere was nice, quaint. Soup was not served hot. Salads that come with the entrees are very tasty.

I placed an order for carryout. ZERO effort was placed into preparing the slop that I was given. Eating from a sandbox would be more flavorful and fulfilling than dining at this restaurant! I ordered three entrées to feed myself and other household members. The chicken dish literally contained a processed chicken patty with an unseasoned topping. The steak was disgusting. I can't even begin to describe the contents of my order. The side item had a sand like texture, as if it hadn't been adequately cooked or soaked long enough. AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS.

Very tasty food, unique menu, quiet setting, terrific staff make for a great night out. Also had a fun Christmas themed pop up bar upstairs on our visit. Some tasty, unique drinks. Great addition to the St Louis dining scene.

We had a date night at Yemanja Brasil, the food and drinks were authentic Brazilian deliciousness all made to perfection! We had the pork chop and seafood risotto and both were really tasty. The drinks were also really good and strong. You can tell that everything is made from scratch and with love. An added bonus was our server Leonildo, who was excellent. We really enjoyed spending time in conversation with him and a new friendship was born. I highly recommend visiting here, we will definitely be back when we are in the area!

The food is authentic and amazing. Great size portions for the price and the staff is always super helpful and welcoming. They also have cool events in their outside lot in the summer.

Update: they have a pop up Christmas bar upstairs that is super festive. Delicious specialty drinks and appetizers. We loved our evening at Casa Noel. Always amazing. My biggest struggle is do I get what I know I like or try something new? This time I tried something new (Seafood Risotto) and it was delicious. They had a special fall bourbon cocktail that was dangerously good. The patio was spaced out and is a fun place to dine. We could even hear the live music from across the street which was a nice touch. I have never had anything bad here, my suggestion is get the special as they are always fantastic. Service is solid and the owner walks around to ensure things are going smoothly. I will be back!!

Feijoada brunch! It was delicious and good music!

This restaurant was so nice! We ate outside on the patio, it was a very cold evening but they have nice heat lamps that kept us warm. The food was delicious. I had Moqueca Bahiana and Empanadas de Camarão and it was so tasty! This was my first experience with Brazilian food and I'm definitely impressed and will be returning. The service was nice, we were checked on by several people during our time there, offered blankets and such. It has a very welcoming and chill atmosphere. I can't wait to tell others about it and return to try other dishes.

Great food. Tapioca appetizer with very unique blend of flavors. Traditional probably toned down but still very tasty. I rarely order steak but their steak plate with rice and beans was very good. Caipirinha very good too! Will be back to try more things. Too full for dessert.

The food was excellent here, but the service is what kept it from 5 stars. I highly recommend this place though I tried 3 different dishes from a steak to a spicy chicken to a creamy fish dish and all 3 were excellent. Just be sure to be very specific when ordering your drinks

Not authentic Brazilian! They hijacked my culture to serve imitation Brazilian cuisine. Everything tasted off. If you are Brazilian or are searching for an authentic experience you'll be disappointed here.

I had the Pave, Frango Minas, and Empanadas de Palmito. They were all delicious! And the service was great.

The best Brazilian restaurant in the city, for sure. You can feel like you are in Brazil, I’m Brazilian and I know what I talk about. They have food since from the north region (the seafood) until the south region of Brazil (like picanha). If you are in the city and would like to know a little bit more about Brazilian gastronomic, You should visit this restaurant.

Yemanja is one of our go-to resturants in Benton Park. The specials change often and the regular menu has so many favorites. The atmosphere is great, pick inside or out, table or booth depending on your mood. The service and food will keep you coming back.

Nice decor. Drinks tastes like they were entirely everclear and sugar syrup. Food was sickly, sweet, and inauthentic. Prices astronomical for the value. Very disappointing.

Foods and drinks are awesome and it’s my favorite place in St. Louis for a good char broiled steak. I can see the management is way better that last time we went there(service is faster and more responsive)

We had an amazing time at Yemanja! Food and service was fantastic from start to finish and the owner even stopped by to make sure we had a great time, she was very sweet and so hospitable! From the shrimp empanadas to the cold soup to the creamy chicken and rice dish, everything has fresh and very flavorful! The vibe and aesthetic are very relaxing and cozy, there’s also a nice patio and fire pit area outside! Would 100% recommend if your looking for something a bit different in the Soulard, Benton Park neighborhoods!

The one vegetarian dish can be made vegan by just not putting parm sprinkles on it. It was actually really good and flavorful. I just wish they had a few more options in this category.

Rare to see a pichana cut, which turned out to be perfectly cooked and seasoned, drizzled with a red wine reduction sauce. The Brazilian dish was delicious. The smoke meats within the soup was surpringly tender even with the thick bark on it. Flavours were well balanced. Empanadas were average. Overall food, service and atmosphere were great, but the wait time on the other hand was quite slow. Took about 45 mins to get a chickpea and chorizo soup.

My first experience with Brazilian cuisine, and let me tell you, this place blew me away. We started with the shrimp empanadas and the torradinhas leme. Both were amazing! for my entree, I had the pescado Miranda, the flavors are nothing like I’ve had before. Great atmosphere, music & service. This will be a regular stop when I am in town.

My husband and I were recommended to this place by some friends and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious (we got the torrandinhas, yucca fries, picanha steak, and chicken galinha). Try the pave for dessert. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and provided some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. The atmosphere was nice with an outdoor patio situated between two buildings with lots of heaters. We will definitely be back!

Solid Brazilian restaurant we came across while in STL. Both my sister and I ordered the feijoada and did take out. The food did take a long time, however no worries for us because they gave us warning when we ordered over the phone. The feijoada and its staples were good - rice, farofa and beans (infused with delicious spices and pork). The rest was average/mediocre for me - collards, salad and bread. Some of it is pretty authentic to Brazil while in some ways that break from that, which I didn’t really understand. I’ve been to Brazil 3 times and my fiancé is Brazilian, so I’ve had authentic feijoada cooked at home. One of the biggest downside for me is the cost - $21 for feijoada. Granted - it is a TON of food, easy to make 2 meals of. However, don’t really understand why it is quite so expensive, especially when I’d consider average. Regardless, definitely a nice Brazilian restaurant and good to start with to get some (relatively) authentic Brazilian cuisine. Worth checking out.
