We visited vashon island and stopped here for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. Carnitas tacos w/guac was amazing. Good heat level on the salsa which is kind of rare in the PNW. Will be returning!

Stopped in with my son. He ordered tacos with steak and his tacos were so spicy. After looking at the menu online I noticed they have a spicy pork. Must have been what they gave him. Our first time so we just thought the tacos were spicy. I got pollo asado and it was so dry as were my corn tortillas I barely ate it. Took it home for my pups. People are nice. Restaurant is no frills, serve yourself and bus your own table.

Zamorana’s has to be one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Jorge and his family truly make every dish with love and are the most kind, welcoming folks.

Im excited to give this place 5 stars so others know what a great place it is! All the staff were super friendly, the food was AMAZING, and the atmosphere was so great- much better than the busy bar next door. We ate here after a long bike ride and were filled up! 100% recommend!

Grab yourself a delicious wet burrito to-go before you head to the vortex of a ferry line. It makes the wait much more bearable. Yum!

This is one of the go to places for locals. They are the kindest, best family who works so hard to make everyone feel welcome and they are consistently working to bring great menu items full of great flavors, fresh food and reasonable prices. If you are used to chain restaurant food, you might not like this place, but for those who know them, it's the best.

I asked if I could put the red snapper on a burrito and they said yes. One of the best burritos I’ve had. Nice presentation with some really tasty house made sauces. Well done guys. Thanks. I’ll be back.

The torta con carnitas is so darn good I have a hard time getting anything else. And it is huge! I do, however, love the fish tacos as well (drippy, so eat them in the car at your own risk - but very tasty!)

They have the most delicious Mexican food I've ever had! (I love Mexican food and have been eating it for 55 years.) The carnitas tacos sparkled as I chewed. The tortillas had perfect texture and taste. And the rice and beans were the best!

Have not stopped thinking about these tacos since lunch 😋 The food is so delicious! 🌮 Best Mexican I’ve had in a while, I didn’t even add any extras because the tacos were perfect. I’m sure the salsa is great too ☺️

Small place with great food. I had the spicy pork tacos and they were awesome! Definitely spicy but perfect if you're a spice lover. Not much parking so keep that in mind.

1st time eating here. It's so excellent. I had the #2. Steak street tacos. Fabulous lunch. Guacamole tasted home made, tortillas tasted home made.

Don't walk or drive by this restaurant. Stop in and enjoy an authentic Mexican meal. You won't regret it.

Some of the best and most authentic Mexican food I've had since being in Tacoma! Just clean, good ingredients, fresh and simple. I will go back to try other options, but had the carnitas torta, with really good, warmed roll, crisp fresh lettuce, and lean, crispy carnitas. Avocado, tomato, and a good house made creamy salsa made for a delicious experience. Owner/staff great, helpful, and friendly.

The first Mexican cafe where I was charged extra for chips and salsa. Also the most expensive for everything else. The worst part is the food was second rate. They gave you plenty but they charged you for it and it was not tasty. I will not be a repeat customer.

For a little place the food has a big taste! Would recommend almost anything of the menu. I get all mine to go so I don't know how in house service is.

First time on the island. Stopped here for lunch based on reviews. Younorder and pay up front then find a seat. The menu says quick bites so I would say its food made quick but its way better than any "fast food". The food was very tasty and the guy working the grill was working nonstop, he was attentive, friendly as was the lady in the back. The young guy working the counter almost seemed annoyed when we said this was our first time and asked for recommendations. That was off-putting but everything else was good.

Spending most of my life close to Mexico, it’s hard to find good, authentic food in the Pacific Northwest. I love supporting this place! I have never had a bad experience. I recommend 1. With steak, no red sauce add pico and queso fresco with a small bean and cheese… OMG. Delicious. The family that run this place are all great folks. Support local and authentic food

I’m a huge fan of their carnitas burrito (with a side of chipotle aioli). They’re carnitas are absolutely the best!! So flavorful and tender with some caramelized crispy bits. The fish tacos are also out of this world and an incredibly generous portion. Today I got the pork loin torta as recommended by the chef because my usuals were sold out and I still can’t get over how delicious it was! So flavorful!!! And while the habanero salsa made it so hot I was crying, it didn’t slow me down one bit. Always huge portions(I can never finish) and friendly service. Certainly not cheap but pretty quick and worth every penny. Plus they’re open every day!

Love the food here! It's our go-to place for takeout or a quick meal. Now has indoor seating but best to sit out front! Their Horchata is amazing. Be sure to get it before it's all gone though! Fish tacos are yummy but watch out-sauce is spicy. Carne Asada is tasty. Portions are plentiful. They do not sell alcohol but there's a liquor store and gas station across the street for discreet BYOB outdoors.

Visit this place often when coming to Vashon, their salsas and tacos are a very strong point and my personal favorite on the menu. Burritos and other items are good as well with the meat always being cooked well and not dry. Would recommend to anyone stopping by in town. Pick up a jarritos too!

This was, no lie, the best Mexican food I've had in all of Washington state. We have roots in SoCal and Texas, so the bar is high. Everything was fresh, everything tasted like real food, it was light (no heavy cheeses or grease), it was full of flavor (the quality of the ingredients were on full display)... This is our new go-to whenever we're on Vashon. Plus, the service was super quick, the dining room had plenty of space, and it was just all around delightful.

This is my 2nd favorite restaurant on Vashon island, and is the one I go to the most. The customer service is always excellent and so is the food.

We have been going out to Vashon Island for years now to eat at this restaurant; we even moved to the other side of the country, Florida! When we visit family in Spokane, we always take time to drive to Seattle, take the Ferry to Vashon, and eat at this extraordinary place. The food is remarkable, and the once tiny walk-up and take-out place has grown into the proper restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, but mostly self-help. The folks who run the business immigrated from Mexico; the food is authentic, the family is prepared and served. You walk in, order, grab your drinks from a refrigerator and find a place to sit down. Be sure to order some chips and salsa (everything is homemade chips and salsa, flour and corn tortillas, everything)! The trip to Vashon can be $30 or more depending on the number in your party riding the Washington State Ferry System. You catch the ferry from West Seattle, Fauntleroy Ferry Dock (Unlike downtown Seattle Ferry's). Vashon Island is an exciting place to make a day of it and explore the island to make the cost of the ferry worthwhile--I think it is just for the food, but others might not agree. There is a lighthouse on the island, several interesting businesses with interesting historical highlights, a small airfield, horse and cattle ranches, attractive real estate (most is pricey). They have a country store I recommend and a lot of Pacific Northwest culture, artsy feel, farmers market, and much more. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

Great, authentic Mexican food. Cozy, comfortable indoor seating. Outdoor seating also available. No alcohol, but plenty of options nearby.

My personal favorite Mexican food on island

Tourist prices but really good food. If I end up on Vashon again, I'm most likely eating there. I had the chicken tacos with guac. Chicken was cooked perfectly and guac had lots of chunks of ripe avocado.

Friendly place, tasty food. Unexpectedly authentic Mexican. I had a great torta, others enjoyed fish tacos and burritos. Not cheap but satisfying.

Were it not for the price, I'd probably give it a high 3 or maybe 4 stars. This was the first place I ate on the island, and I thought maybe $18 for a burrito was reasonable. It's not. Nothing else on the island was this far out of line with normal prices. The burrito itself was fine, but nothing special. It was a "wet burrito" (still not justifying the price), and the sauce was a bit just tomato sauce. I definitely would not return at these prices.

We’re from Los Angels and have live in Seattle now for 10 years and this is some of the best Mexican food we’ve had in our entire lives. The hot sauce, and rice are reason enough to eat here alone, but the carnitas and fish tacos are absolutely amazing. We ate here twice for lunch and will be making day trips to Vashon with this place as the main destination. The service here is top notch....completely impressed!!!

I have eaten my weight in Zamorana's burritos several times over so I am some what qualified to give my humble opinion on this restaurant which also happens to be indisputable fact and I could prove it with five minutes and an etch a sketch. They are the best. Don't get robbed elsewhere on the island waiting for overpriced boring food. This is the way ❤️🌯

This casual delicious place on the island has a variety of traditional dishes, such as wet and dry burritos, carne asada. fish tacos(I can't spell in spanish), and the list continues. Great to eat there, or take away. The portions are generous, and well presented.
