Excellent Thai food. A must if you're in Daytona Beach and love Thai food.

Super delicious Thai food and the outdoor courtyard area was a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The Thai tea is bangin.

The Thai food here is consistently great. I’ve been coming here since the early days when they were located on Bay Street. I love the outdoor seating area that they’ve added. I always get the same thing and it never disappoints. The vegetarian dish with eggplant and Thai basil. Delicious!

The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt, and the prices very reasonable. It has a nice atmosphere and a good location and we would eat here often if we lived in the area. Also great for gluten-free.

Both Olive and Kyla were aware of celiac and needed cross contamination protocols. Ask for the gluten free menu which is a nicely organized list of all items which can be safely prepared. I enjoyed the spicy (drunkin) noodles with chicken and tried a bite of a friend’s mango sticky rice. The food is not only celiac safe but excellent with an enjoyable atmosphere.

***UPDATE*** All I can say is WOW! I love Thai food, and this place is the best I've been in FL! I love the flavor, and the drinks are fabulous! I highly recommend coming here! ***** Delicious food, great ambience. Took a bit long to serve, but worth the wait!

Excellent service! Josh, the bar tender helped me order an absolutely delicious meal! The basil duck with added garlic and broccoli, 10 out of 10 recommend.

Walked in the door and waited about 5 minutes while the hostess stared at a computer screen without greeting us. Our service wasn't great either... The server didn't check on us very often and we waited quite a while for refills and for empty appetizer dishes to be removed, even after entrees were delivered. Mediocre food, not worth the price, in my opinion.

Asked locals on Reddit for the best Thai in Daytona, Zen Bistro had the most recommendations and it did not disappoint. The Peanut and Honey dish with shrimp on a bed of Broccoli was delicious. Also had a cocktail, Zen Smash, bourbon based drink was light and refreshing. We will be back next year!

Food was actually banging, but they really need to be better at labeling their dietary options. They said ask for vegan options, to which the peanut sauce has oysters and they made our food with egg anyway. I don’t care much bc personally I’m on vacation, but it frustrates me that restaurants will advertise their dietary restrictions and not be upfront about some of them. Everyone here was kind, but definitely be cautious about the food you’re ordering if you have a dietary restriction.

I recently visited Zen Bistro and was very disappointed with the experience. The staff was neither welcoming nor accommodating. Despite many empty tables outside, we were told to wait for 30 minutes because the kitchen staff was not ready to take more orders. This level of service is unacceptable, and I won't be returning.

I sat at the bar , and was greeted by Josh he was so sweet, the food came out sooooo quick I was shocked, in addition to that the food was amazing, the workers was sooo nice the atmosphere was relaxing , I’m definitely coming back The cucumber salad was sooo good to me I rate it a 10/10 Rice was good as well 8.5/10

Great customer service the outdoor space is nice.. We have been trying diferent thai restaurant around US. But the food wasn't good. . We ordered a shrimp fried rice and curry. The shrimp was low quality and tasteless. We didn't enjoy the flavor of the food.

Food was tasty, but the portions were not commensurate with the pricing . Prices at the restaurant were higher than online pricing. Pad Thai-$21 vs $18. Service was friendly, but picking up our plates already holding another tables’ dirty dishes, left a bad taste . Atmosphere is great outside, inside was too loud for a conversation.Wish It had been different.

Everything is right with the restaurant. Outside is peaceful, the staff is courteous and bartenders make a great drink. The curry plates are delicious. Make a reservation.

Lovely atmosphere. Extremely overpriced for basic food that's not even close to authentic Thai. So much sugar in everything. And $7 for a tiny bowl of soup that was basically sugar water with some veggies. The pumpkin curry was tasty. But overall, pretty lackluster food at way too high of a price. Small portions as well.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pineapple curry was delicious! It was raining or we would have eaten outside in the beautiful courtyard with plants, bamboo and fountain. Will be back! Make sure you call when they open to make a reservation or you will have to wait!

Had the beef pad Thai and the chicken yellow curry at medium heat. It was amazing! Probably the best Thai curry I’ve ever had. The spice level was perfect (spicy but not unpleasant), and the service was incredible. The hostess and the services were polite and friendly and attentive. All in all it was a lovely experience!

To write a negative review about this place really sucks. Let me start off by saying, that the food and atmosphere outside are amazing. The servers we have come across were also very friendly. We feel like it is necessary to let others know about our experience with reserving a table for 17 people, because it was everything but amazing.. We picked Zen Bistro for a celebration dinner three months before our reservation date (we are from Orlando and decided to drive to Daytona JUST to try this place and see if it was the spot we wanted to host the celebration at). We fell in love with the outside space, specifically under the pergola outside. On our first visit there, we asked our sever several questions about reserving this table outside under the pergola for about 20 people. She told us it should be no problem, they've sat around that many people outside before, but to make sure we made the reservation a month in advance. Fast forward to two months before our reservation date, we decided to call and see if we could make the reservation - the man on the phone said they usually don't take reservations that far out in advance but that he would write it down for us anyways. While making the reservation, we clarified it was for 17 people, under the pergola, outside. He confirmed that would be fine with them, and that was all. Fast forward ONE month before the reservation, we called again just to confirm the reservation was set for the date/time/and table we wanted. The lady on the phone was SO friendly, mentioned that, yes, she did see the reservation for outside, under the pergola, for 17 people; she also mentioned that they would save a table inside in case the weather wasn't the greatest that day, which we loved that she recommended and accommodated that for us. Now, to the day BEFORE the reservation...... a guy calls us, mentioning how he sees the reservation we have for 17 people under the pergola outside, but that there was a mistake from the person who took our reservation because they were unable to accommodate 17 people under the pergola outside, but they could only accommodate us inside. We were in shock..... simply because we made the reservation TWO MONTHS before the reservation date, and they called us the DAY BEFORE to tell us this information. We were incredibly disappointed and made it clear to the person on the phone. After hanging up and thinking it over, we decided to call back and speak to the manager. We expressed to him how we made the reservation two months in advance, we spoke to SEVERAL people in person while we dined there and over the phone about that specific table and location and no one mentioned it not being possible. The manager went on to say that the staff that confirmed that to us was mistaken, they couldn't fit 17 people under the pergola outside, BUT if we wanted to rent out the space, THEN they would be able to accommodate us.... it seemed very much like a money grab. We let him know how incredibly disappointed we were in their handling of the situation, something that they could have let us know WAY ahead of time, not the DAY BEFORE. The manager just said sorry and that was all. And honestly, if they would have let us know in advance that this was not possible, we would have been okay with it and made a reservation somewhere else... but to call the day before.. that's just not right. We contacted several other restaurants that same day, but of course they couldn't accommodate 17 people so last minute. We ended up taking the reservation, eating inside, and yes, we enjoyed the food and service, but this experience really threw us off. Unfortunately, that is why we are writing this review to let others know about the horrible experience of the handling of our reservation and request. I hope the manager learns from this experience because that's 17 people who will not dine at Zen Bistro again.... which is unfortunate.

Love this restaurant. We went with our adult son and his gf. The food is always terrific and the wait staff is super knowledgeable about Thai cuisine and spice levels.

Totally met expectations. Papaya salad was spicy, funky and sweet in a good way. Yellow curry with shrimp was balanced in a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Spicy Noodles with shrimp had all the flavors you wanted of drunken noodles. Nice small restaurant vibes. Friendly wait staff.

We had take-out and it was absolutely delicious! Many vegan options. So good. Highly recommended!

Best Thai food I’ve had hands down and the most amazing cocktails that can compete with top bars in NYC, except for a fraction of the cost. I love sitting outside and enjoying a nice meal with family and friends and feeling like I’m at a tropical paradise. Go and thank me later!

A very nice thai food restaurant. Service at the bar was outstanding. The server was extremely nice and the food was deliecious. We had the Spicy noodles and pineapple fried rice and both were outstanding. The outside patio is amazingly comfortable, and has a tropical feel to it. Well worth the trip and we will be back.

Amazing Vegan options. I got the salad with ginger dressing ( so good I got the ginger salad dressing to go). Tom kah soup that is so creamy and amazing. And the mixed vegetables also amazing:) I will be back:)

A perfect place to dine on exceptional Thai food. The waiter was very helpful in suggesting favorite dishes. We had the Pad Thai with Pork and the Pineapple Curry with Beef modified to be 100% gluten free. Both were prepared with a heat setting of ‘hot’ and were delicious. I wish the place was closer to home so I could sample more of their dishes. Dining outside was a plus and having a carafe of water on the table was a nice touch. Plus, the waiter brought additional plates so we could share meals.

Wow, what a hidden gem! You might miss this small restaurant if not careful. Found it by accident ourselves while coming home from Daytona Beach Beach street. The food was really, really good. We stopped during lunch time, theres a nice beer/drink menu and nice extensive thai dish appys/soups/entrees list, all at very fair prices. I had the Tom Kha Gai soup as a starter which was soooo delicious - at medium spice level there was a nice heat to it without being overpowered. Panang Curry and Pad Woon Sen were our plates, both also exceptional. Staff was very nice and attentive - we will definitely return.

Excellent Thai restaurant. Service is prompt and attentive. Very accommodating if you have specific requests or allergies. They offer mild, medium, hot and Thai hot. Food portions are just enough. We love the cucumber salad and the pineapple rice as a side dish.

Zen Bistro is the best dine-in place in Daytona Beach! My wife and I are locals and cannot go through a month without stopping there. Food and drinks are excellent; most importantly, the cozy little atmosphere makes it all excellent. MUST HAVE Pineapple or Pumpkin Curry :)

Great Food and a great experience. When they say Thai Spicy 🌶️ they mean it! I can handle spicy and love extra spice so usually when places say spicy they mean Americanized spicy. They did THAI SPICY 🥵. That said cross that line with caution lol 😆 The Tom Kha was amazing and the cheesecake was a dream. Definitely coming back!

I got pad thai and fried calamari, it was amazing! There Thai tea is very good as well. I went here for a friends birthday party and wasn’t disappointed. It is very popular so I would recommend making a reservation before you go.

Anniversary dinner was amazing! With parents retired, John has kept Zen exactly as when his parents did. Delicious food and wonderful service.

We ordered the spicy noodles and we were very displeased and disappointed. The food itself tasted good but the portion size was absolutely pathetic. We spent 29 dollars for two extremely small plates of noodles with nothing special in it. The food itself wasn’t bad even for a lunch portion this was child size at best. We actually had to order food from somewhere else because we were still hungry not worth the money for what we got. We only got food from here today because everywhere else we would normally get was closed.. every time we have been here the staff is difficult to deal with and when we ask basic questions it’s always a strain for them to respond and when they do it’s with a very bad attitude. I will never come back here it’s not worth it.

One of my favorite local Thai restaurants. A little pricier than some others but the food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. This time I ordered the fried rice with chicken and a mangotini. Everything is so fresh and you can taste the sweet basil even in the spicier dishes. The curry is excellent too. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Be sure to save room for apps and dessert, because the Thai tea ice cream pie is heavenly. There are lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available. My vegan friend raves about the pumpkin curry.

Great food! Lots of GF options. We had red curry and the yellow curry. Was not disappointed at all! Perfect amount of heat and flavor. Our friends loved the chicken on skewers and spring rolls. Would go back again. The mangotini was on point.

I was very surprised to find this place in Daytona. Outside of California, this is some of the best Thai I’ve ever had. Almost anything can be made vegan including the Thai teas. The staff are always super friendly and extra nice to my kids. Which as a parent I appreciate, most restaurants barely pay kids the time of day but our server had a full on conversation with my 11 year old. If the weather permits I’d recommend dining outside.

Great place! Our server knew the menu very well and made great recommendations. The food was crafted swiftly and was quite delicious. We had the red curry with tofu and sauteed ginger with fish. Both highly recommended. Also nibbled on sautéed garlic with fish and broccoli, which wasn’t bad. The bar was washed out by a storm, but the outdoor patio looked lovely. Inside got crowded, not their fault. Victims of their own success (and the weather). We didn’t get to try the Thai Ice Tea Ice Cream Pie from Neighbors Ice Cream Parlor in Port Orange, unfortunately.

Superb service, gorgeous patio area and atmosphere on a Friday evening. Love the twinkle lights, the fire pit and fountain, very charming place to enjoy a delicious meal. Many vegan options which is fantastic and our server Nikki knew exactly which ones were vegan-friendly. They can customize most dishes too. Everything was super fresh and again, the service by Nikki and Mayne was outstanding!

Love this place! I come once a year when vacationing, I see the same servers each year, which means they are taken care of, the food is always hot and fresh, and excellent presentation! It was a delightful experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfectly complementing the excellent food and service. Our waitress stood out in particular - her attentive nature ensured that all our needs were met with a smile. While I’m not entirely convinced about the authenticity of the dishes, there’s no denying that they were delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would happily return!
