Gooey Louie and lobster sliders are out of this world! Packed with real high quality lobster- just the best!!

There are endless lists that recommend “the best lobster roll” you need to try. There is no better lobster roll than the one at 5 South Main - nice pillowy roll with a generous serving of lobster meat coated (but not soaked) in mayo. Also recommend the chicken Caesar wrap. The staff is always really pleasant. Have primarily gone for the takeout, but also have enjoyed dining in. Very cozy in here (4 to 6 tables). Perfect place to come when looking for a very small and quiet atmosphere. Menu is just the right size - everything is freshly prepared. Very generous pours of wine for anyone dining in for dinner.

This place is home to the tastiest and best value lobster roll. Forget a wimpy hot dog bun, this thing is stuffed on a giant grilled roll - it’s perfect. Not too much mayo and perfect for splitting. Great value and tasty menu, something for everyone. A must do for a casual lunch in Cohasset!

Excellent little place! We got the jumbo lobster rolls and the chicken Marsala which were all very delicious. The ambience was great and the servers were friendly. We look forward to coming back.

Great selection of excellent sandwiches. Fresh, quality served hot and good-looking lunchtime meals. Served by friendly and nice staff. The place is small but not too cramped. Coffee was not the best, but then if a coffee snob don't order coffee at a restaurant :). Have also had a good breakfast here in the past... I guess take out is popular based on the number of pick up orders while we had lunch

Good food! Had the spareribs, eggplant in garlic sauce, veggi delight, house fried rice and chop suey with shrimp. Also the chicken teriyaki. All was very good, tasty and satisfying.

We happened to be in the area looking for a casual lunch spot and found 5 south main. Very nice staff with a wide selection of menu options w. We had excelled lam chowder, chicken Caesar wrap, hot honey chicken sandwich, and three layer turkey sandwich- all were excellent!

I totally agree with Josh Dupre. I went there with my sister to try the gooey Louie on his recommendation. It was everything he said and more! Also the chowder and sausage soups were perfect ,along with the cheesecake,cookies and Greek salad. If I lived closer,I would return.

My husband and I set out to find the best lobster roll in the greater Boston area during Covid. It took us three years but we found it, hands down, here in Cohasset. Not swimming in mayo but so fresh it must have been swimming minutes before it was made, the lobster is delicious and plentiful. The roll itself is a treat, lightly buttered and sandwich-sized, and is the perfect compliment to the lobster. We order takeout because the venue is small and the service was quick and pleasant. We take ours to the beach and enjoy the surf with our seafood, it makes for the perfect afternoon getaway from the city. Highly recommend!!!

Waren heute Mittag dort zum Essen und haben auf unserer Fahrt von Boston nach Plymouth halt gemacht. Sehr nettes Lokal mit sehr netter Gastgeberin. Hatte Jumbo Lobster Roll die fabelhaft war. Meine Familie hatte Bolognese, Chicken Caesar Wrap und Chicken Salad Sandwich. Alles sehr lecker. Wenn ihr in der Nähe seid schaut mal rein. Es lohnt sich 😉

Not a huge menu, but the food was good. The tuna melt on sourdough is fabulous!

Host was very “kind” to let us know that they have not been serving brunch for 3 years, please fix your online information to fit what is true.

A friend and I stopped for lunch. First time and Such a cute spot - great sandwiches, great service and loved the shop next store.

The Nashville chicken sandwich was verrrrrry good, and even for this Texan with a high tolerance for spice, it had a really good kick! My wife had the Korean BBQ sandwich and loved it. I'd stay away from the chicken pesto wrap, though. It wasn't well-wrapped, and according to the person who ordered it, it had very little pesto flavor (and not much flavor in general). Overall a good stop and a tasty meal. We would return!

LOBSTER ALERT! I think I just accidentally found the best lobster roll south of Essex County! If you like a HUGE portion of bodacious crustaceous deliciousness I strongly encourage making the drive from Boston. Get the Gooey Louis. It is a massive lobster melt on sourdough. The clam chowder was good too but I literally took home more than half of what I dub the "KING LOUIS." IMPORTANT HEADS UP: They have 4 tables. They may add more for the summer, but for now call ahead or be ready to take a stroll along the harbor or check out the downtown shops.

The Moroccan chickpea soup is amazing! And the pesto chicken wrap is sooo fresh and delicious. Best place around, a favorite of the band Take It To The Bridge! 🕺

Get the Owee gooey lobster sandwich. Trust me.

We got the Lobster BLT, Gooie Louie and the Pear and Arugula salad to go. The Lobster BLT was really great. The Gooie Louie was also very good, but not as good as the BLT. The salad was also fantastic. They had a good local beer selection - I got a Stellwagen. My only complaint is that the price on the sandwiches was pretty steep, even for lobster. They were both $35 dollars. That said, they did not short change you on the amount of lobster.

Ive been traveling to Boston over the last few months and of course try to sample lobster dishes and clam chowder where I can. I first had a Gooey Louie togo, it was awesome. I just now had one fresh out the kitchen along with a clam chowder. The chowder was solid but the Gooey Louie was amazing. It kicks the hell out of a normal lobster roll and its packed with a ton of lobster at 5 South Main. Decadent and delicious. The service was also fast and friendly.

This place is a great choice for both breakfast and lunch. The staff are friendly and the food is top notch.

Friends got some excellent sandwiches here, I was donated a delicious cookie for running a marathon nearby. The level of care & cheerfulness from the team there was so lovely & made our day. Staff was welcoming & pleasant, I would 100% recommend stopping in!

Stopped here for sandwiches on a Saturday afternoon. There currently is no eat in service, but the order was brought out to the car. We had Nashville Chicken, a Caprese sandwich and Pesto Chicken. All outstanding! One caveat- next time I’ll ask for extra napkins with the Nashville chicken. Delicious but messy!

From a road warriors perspective when searching for a quick sit down or take out lunch in Cohasset this is the spot. Small restaurant with ample seating inside and out. No worries about checking the sandwich or bag for ordered items. The order is completed correctly the first time and always with a smile. Unlike many deli's that forget the condiments that you request. 5 South Main is on my short list for low key, delicious creative sandwiches and soups from the menu or interesting specials from the blackboard. Great desserts as well. Dinners with a beer and wine license. Sunday brunch too. Tables outside for warm weather dining. Highly recommended.

The food here is always good! Today’ s takeout meals were no exception . We ordered lobster rolls and they were top quality! Fresh juicy lobster meat in a light mayo dressing. The roll was a baguette and not your typical hot dog bun. Highly recommend this eating establishment!

As many of these reviews state, the french toast is out of this world. But I want to make sure everyone knows the dinner and lunch selections are just as fantastic. And somehow, even in the midst of the current situation they have managed to maintain the same incredible standards. We have been trying to frequent our favorite local restaurants as much as possible for take-out lately and without doubt, 5 South Main is head and shoulders above when it comes to delivering the same phenomenal culinary experience we have come to expect but in a box. Really, the only thing missing is the interaction with the wonderful staff. (We miss you guys!) And one last thing: BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES EVA!!! (Order twice as many as you actually want. You'll be happy you did when you have some left the next day.)

We have been going to 5 South Main for years and ,of course, after new ownership. The food and service is excellent. Perhaps we go too often because we would love to see the dinner menu change a little. I think we have had everything on the menu. It is an excellent cozy restaurant with a talented Chef.

We have Sunday breakfast here almost every week and visit for lunch and dinner on occasion. The food is really spectacular, prepared in a small and friendly kitchen just off the really cozy dining room. Breakfast is always a treat, and the service is really excellent. Though the wait can sometime be a little bit, it is worth it!

Great spot for a casual breakfast with friends. Had to wait about 10-15 mins for our party of 4 but that is to be expected with such a small place. The staff were polite and even genuinely funny when interacting with us. Definitely had some great laughs. Food was pretty standard though we didnt get anything game breaking (simple eggs and toast). The cinnamon roll French toast was tasty though!! Service 5/5 Food 4/5 Atmosphere 5/5

My wife and I had two GREAT sandwiches here for lunch yesterday - they were outstanding! I'm a lifelong New Englander, and have been around lobster my entire life, but had never thought of, nor heard of, a grilled cheese sandwich with lobster salad in it. The Gooey Louis was such an unexpected treat! We'll definitely be back for more of their creative and delicious food - thank you!

Been here for breakfast a few times recently. The food has been delicious and the wait time has been minimal. The wait staff was been very polite and attentive. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping in for a nice breakfast.

3 amazing dinners... Hidden gem... Ambiance wonderful, nice music, French feel although casual enough to bring my 4 yr old! We all loved our dinners, amazing meatballs, chicken and steak! Not a bad word about one meal.... Delicious! Will be back, thank you!!

Great place to get sandwiches for lunch from kind and friendly staff.. they close early on Friday so be sure to get there before 3 but if you do you will have some great food.. you can pick from a large selection and either eat it there or take it to go for the beach or picnic.. located in center of town with street parking.

This is a cute restaurant with great breakfast and lunch. Their lobster rolls are huge and delicious and so are their tuna melts. They also have great baked goods and breakfast.

We come back to five south main again and again. The southern belle is mind blowing. Their omelettes are amazing too. If you're in cohasset five south main is a must!

The food here is consistently great! It's a place I would recommend warmly to anyone who wants a study breakfast or lunch. My personal favorite item on their menu is the French toast with peaches and pecans, so tasty I almost forgot to take a photo before it was all gone again..

Loved this tiny, cozy restaurant when we were exploring the South Shore. Sandwiches were enormous, grilled and tasty but for $9-10 I wish they came with a side. Luckily we ordered a pastry to go and made for a delicious meal.

The food we had was great (we had breakfast), particularly the french toast. SO GOOD. The coffee was typical diner coffee - okay, not great - but next time I'd like to try a latte and see how the espresso compares. The had two tables outside with people who ha dogs with them and they gave them bowls of water and frequent pats on the head. Love dog friendly places! The wait staff we encountered was all lovely, will definitely be back.

Comfortable, cute space with delicious sandwiches! Staff is fun, attentive, and kind. Had fresh chocolate cupcakes just in time for desert. Even the black coffee was good (no espresso) We had both the turkey apple and pear brie sandwiches!
