Their Tuesday special 1 drink, side salad , spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic toast and a slice of cake all for $10. It was absolutely delicious and our sweet waitress was the best and very helpful with showing us the menu. We will absolutely be coming back! Definitely a great bang for your buck!

I love this place dinner for two can walk out stuffed to the gills on $20 without tip ! Good home cooking right down to dessert! We have the nightly special! Well worth it!

The staff here is very helpful! I've been several times, and they let me know when I tried to order something that wasn't going to be good, they did a great job taking my specific orders, and they have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had! The only downside is the beverage selection, they only have diet Pepsi, and it tastes a little weird!

Felt like home Lunch was chicken in a tomato, corn & potato soup base. A grilled cheese sandwich, cornbread, and a piece of spice cake. Very casual folks waited on you. We'd go back. If you're tired of fast food drive thru's try Cafe 72.

Food is always good. One of the best burgers and some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had. They have weekday daily affordable specials, for some it might lack variety but it's affordable and they will treat you like family. It's locally owned and operated. Go in with a patient mind and enjoy a diner like meal.

Hometown cafe done right. We came in for the lunch special and loved it. The burger was an equally good choice. The prices are low, too. We'll be back, a lot.

Best onion rings ever!! Hamburgers are old fashioned like we cook at home. Highly recommended the grilled ham and cheese sandwich as well!!

Would give 10 stars if possible! This gem is the best in every category possible! Food is outstanding! Service is top notch! If you haven't visited please do yourself a favor & be delighted & full when you leave!

Update 6/5/2024 - Still just a comfy place to dine. Down home country cooking and some out of the world onion rings. Burgers are pretty awesome too.

We had a variety of things from the menu and the daily specials! It was delicious and the server, Brenda, was wonderful!! We had fried pickles, onion rings, burgers, salads and chicken sandwiches. Chicken and stuffing was the special! German chocolate cake was fabulous too!!

I had the double bacon cheeseburger and it was the best I ever had. The staff was great. It's easily gonna become my favorite place to go.

They have regular menu items and a meat and three special each day. The special comes with tea and dessert all for 10.00!! The day we went they had Country Fried Steak. Field Peas, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy Almond Cake(delicious) and tea. We went just after lunch hr. so we missed the crowd. Very Enjoyable!!

Oh my my my!!!! Love this! Small town local establishment. Fantastic chicken dressing, mash potatoes cranberry sauce and green beans with a fresh lightly buttered roll! Yummy! And for dessert, homemade iced banana cake! Sweet tea to perfection... Menu is limited though, but I'm certain everything is just as great as the nights special! Sad to see that they are not open for breakfast, but they open at 10 am for lunch and dinner! Can't wait to go back!!! 😋 😋

Beverly is a fantastic waitress. You get a meat 2 vegetable tea and a dessert for 10 bucks.

The food is great and this was time going myself to get take out , had eaten at work and someone else picked up for me. The service was great, so friendly and caring! Would recommend! The pricing is great for the food you get....ver resonable!!!

I had the turkey and dressing it was delicious 😋. My husband had the club sandwich and a baked potato also wonderful. My friend had a cheese burger with onion rings. Best onion rings we have ever Eaten. And Brenda was our servicer she did a great job.

Everything was adequate, building old and a little run down. But everything else was pleasant.

From out of state and stopped in on a whim, and so glad we did! Staff was so friendly and welcoming! Burgers were so very tasty and home made onion rings were spectacular! If you go, hopefully you will be lucky and they will have their chocolate salted caramel cake!

I’m eating my words! I went to Cafe 72 about 4 months ago. I ordered my food and left a review I was not impressed or going back. So last night I really wanted a hamburger but I didn’t want to drive through Athens. I live close to Cafe 72 so I thought let me give it another try. WOW I’m glad I did. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. It was awesome!!!!! The best burger, tasty and cooked perfectly. It was so good I ordered another for lunch today. Next time I will order the onion rings, a patron in the next booth had them said they were delicious. They did look good. I’m so happy I tried it again! I will be back. Also the server was exceptional too!!!!!

Great burger and onion rings...

Food was fine with a decent price. Left out a fry in the order. I think what bothered me the most though was when I went in to pick it up all the patrons that were there eating just stared me down even as I walked out. My anxiety couldn't cope with that but it is what it is.

Very hospitable.. it was a couple years ago on the eve of Thanksgiving. The ladies were very busy preparing for their sold out holiday dinners pies. Fed me anyway and even gave me a loaf of bread .. God bless you girls

Delicious old fashion Club Sandwich & Tater Tots. The chicken & dressing with sweet potato casserole looked yummy as well. Great service. Southern hospitality. Generous portions.

First time there the Food was great the service was not very good could not get our drinks refilled don't think I'll try it again

Great little place I've needed to try for a while but haven't. The chicken stew, grilled cheese, and cornbread was great. Meal price included a piece of cake even. The wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Edit: I'm an idiot that thought he was rating five and was rating one...

Just a cozy little diner decent food and prices

Popular "Mom & Pop" with friendly staff, daily lunch specials and tasty burgers. My only complaint was that the onion rings didn't taste nearly as good as they look, very bland. Otherwise all was good!

Like the new place much better. Everyone was super nice. Had the chicken fried steak special with white gravy and 2 sides, great hot roll, drink and cake, only $ 8.00 even. Very tasty with good portion. We told other people and they went that very day. We will go back again and again. Thanks for great meal.

The new location has a pleasant family style atmosphere. There is a back room for larger or private events. My Chef salad was great, and some of the other patrons meals looked well and were promptly served, too. Yes, I'll ride my motorcycle and stop by again. 🛵🍔🥪🍕🥦

It's very hard to move a restaurant, especially after a fire. I never ate at the old location, but these folks are doing a fantastic job under difficult circumstances. Please give them a chance to show you some down home cooking and the hospitality to go along with it. We will be back.

Great food! My family and I ordered to-go food from here the other day. The hamburgers tasted great, and it was obvious that they were made fresh and hadn’t been frozen. The lady who gave me the food was extremely nice. I would definitely eat here again!

Just ate there for the first time. Wow grill chicken was so moist and the hamburger steak was great . Onion Rings were AMAZING. I live in Huntsville and was visiting family in the area tonight. I will drive back from Huntsville just for the onion rings!!!!

Always good food and really decent prices. The don't accept plastic but they do take checks and cash. They are not open on weekends but neither is any other eatery this far out of town. The place is small and often crowded but always friendly and welcoming and we eat there frequently.

Great service. Got the special which was so cheap! And everything was really good, from the field peas to the toast to the lemon cake to the iced tea. More than worth the money. Popular with older locals, so you might need to salt it yourself. They only take cash or check, though!

The first thing I noticed about Cafe 72 is the rustic/run down look the outside of the building has. Don't let that scare you off though, the food makes up for it! The inside is very small and was quite crowded when I stopped by for lunch. I ended up sharing a table with a random fellow and we had a nice conversation while eating. Other than being crowded, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. I got the double cheeseburger, which was flipping massive. Managed to finish it off, but I doubt I'll be eating dinner tonight... I'll definitely come back here in the future!

Summed up in one word: AWESOME!!! Fabulous food, wonderful people, down-home service, and easy on the wallet. I could go on and on, but I believe I've made my point here.
